Wait what, place her wand on the table? Why? Glancing at the Head Boy's pants she nodded and placed her wand onto the desk and kept on listening. They would be making there own set! How cool was that! After glancing at her notes several times to make sure she knew what each of them standed for. The Ravenclaw stood up and walked up to the bowl of She went to go look for the other rocks she still had ten rocks to go. A orange red firey looking rock caught her attention, scooping it out of the bowl, she thought it would be a perfect Venus rock, dropping it into the bag, she went back to looking. This time she put her hand into the bowl and feeled around for something anything, feeling something weird she pulled it out, to see it was golden like, it was cubeish as well..Weird stone, slipping it into her bag thinking it would be good for Mercury. Now on to the Mars rock. Her eyes caught the attention of a very rough merky brown rock, picking it up moving the other stones, she found that it would be perfect for the mars rock. Seeing two green rocks next to each other she pulled both of them out. One was mixed with green and a white translucent color and the other was a bright green, placing what would be the jupiter and Earth rock into the bag. Her eyes fell onto a clear pointed stone, she recognized it immediatly as quartz, plucking it from the stones, switching it into her other hand not sure if she was going to use it yet..Seeing a rock she also knew, it was a ruby. So she had a air rock and fire rock, placing them into her bag she went back to looking. Glancing in she saw a diamond..Doing a double take, to make sure it was actually a diamond. Wow it was, picking it up, it may have been a rough diamond but it was a diamond nonetheless and it was perfect for the spirit stone. So just the water and universe stone left... She had yet to see a blue rock other than turqouise. Seeing a darker blue than she had normally seen she took it out, it was perfect for the water. When taking the water rock out it placed a black star like rock at the top, she thought it looked like a black opal but did they usually have colored star like things on them. Shrugging she placed it into her bag. Counting the stones in the bag to make sure she had all thirdteen, ater making sure they were all there. She gave a smile to the Professor and returned to her seat to sort them out and look at them. SPOILER!!: The Thirdteen Rocks SPOILER!!: Nerida's Notes |
When choosing his stones, Jory made sure he got various colours and shapes. "Wanna blend them well,'' he thought as he chose the sixth stone. He also made sure they could be used as pointers. As he picked them out, the Puff dropped them into a blue pouch he had selected from the set until he had 13. |
Text Cut: Professor Elwood (Chris;)) As Professor Elwood had started addressing the responses about pointers, and Stella had waited to find out if she'd been entirely crazy in choosing to give a response, she had noticed Paulie not exactly paying attention to the lesson out of the corner of her eye. It wasn't obvious, and he'd offered a response to the discussion question at the same time, but he was definitely glaring at something. Slightly turning her head in curiosity, all she saw was Aspen over in that direction. Mouthing something, but she had certainly not expected to see what happened next. Luckily, she got sidetracked by the professor apparently saying that her wild guess had been exactly correct, and as such was surprised when the woman had ordered that everyone put their wands out on their desks. At least the professor had done so as well, which made Stella feel better about sliding her rowan wand out of its holster and setting it on her desk. Hopefully nothing would happen to it, and she wasn't about to say anything about the younger Claw either. It was easier to just stand to retrieve her stones, although she first walked over to the table against the wall to select a bag. Fingering a green bag, she finally picked it up and turned to head for the bowl. It had started getting picked over by then, but she sifted her fingers through the stones still inside and started picking some up one-by-one. Various shapes, sizes, colors, rough and smooth... by the time she'd picked out thirteen of them, she figured she had a good enough assortment, and after settling them into the bag, she returned to her desk to decide which stone would stand for which meaning. That was going to be the harder part, especially if she was still curious what was going to happen with their wands. SPOILER!!: Stella's stones |
Okay, this gotta be fun. First, Chelle took her wand out of her cloak pocket and placed it in front of her on the desk. No wands required here. She had no problem with that. Absolutely not. She loved practical magic, of course, but it'd be nice to not use a wand sometimes. Chelle walked up to Professor Elwood's desk and stopped to take one good look at all the stones. Woah. These are all so pretty! She hesitated. She couldn't decided which ones to pick. She liked all of them. Yup, they were all colourful and shiny and they made her feel really nice. But they had to decide. With a sigh, she took a pouch and started picking out the ones she liked best. The first one she took was a pearl. Maybe I could keep it for myself and send it to Jake, back home, as a souvenir from me at Hogwarts? Next, she picked out a sapphire. She wasn't really fond of gemstones as such, but as far as they went, sapphires were her favourite. They had to be in her collection. As she looked around for other stones, this one stone caught her eye. It was clear and it sparkled. That had to be a diamond. Happily, Chelle put it in her pouch. Next, she took a stone which looked like a cross between purple and red. She recognised it as an amethyst. New jade was also a pretty looking semi-precious stone, so it went into her pouch. She also liked the sight of an emerald green stone, which she took to be emerald. A quartz stone, a lapis lazuli and an amberfollowed. A brownish stone, which looked a lot like a marble from her set at home, struck Chelle as unusual. In went the pietersite. She also picked out a red garnet. How many more do I need? Running out of patience, Chelle randomly picked up three more stones to complete her pouch. "Thanks," she muttered, smiled at professor Elwood, and went back to her seat. |
Derrick popped his wand on his Desk in front of him. After abit There wasn't very many people so he made his move.He stood up and walked up to the desk.He looked carefully at all the stones before choosing his Thirteen. |
Kurumi glanced over at Paulie when she caught Professor Kurumi waited for the crowd around the stones to die down, which probably meant that some of the good ones would be taken and gone before she got there, but Kurumi didn't mind. If it was meant to be it would be, right? Her violet eyes scanned the list of 13 stones she needed to think about and her mind already began to wander as to how to connect these to herself. That was the whole point of this, right? Making a set that spoke to them and them alone? The first few options that popped into her head were easy and came from her Japanese roots. Each of the planets listed were associated with a certain day of the week and those days in turn had specific gems that were associated with them. So, the moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn were easily taken care of. Kurumi couldn't remember off the top of her head which stone was associated with the sun, but she figured she would just look at them and see which one spoke to her. The same would go for the remaining stones. Once the crowd had parted, Kurumi stood up and approached the still massive collection of stones and was easily able to pick out the predetermined stones. That just left...seven more to pick. Kurumi's violet gaze was instantly drawn to a black stone with something that looked like the rays of the sun bursting from it, so that one was added to the collection for the sun. Earth's was easy as well as the color of texture sort of reminded the Gryffindor of dried moss, so that was added next along with another black stone with dabs of color that reminded her of galaxies swimming in the universe. Pearl just seemed like an obvious choice for water, seeing as pearls came from ocean dwelling creatures, and then a pretty blue stone for air and an amber for fire. Spirit was a tricky one and the Gryffindor was first inclined towards picking a transparent stone, but then she remembered something her father had always told her about eyes being the window to our souls. Kurumi's eyes were violet and she was proud to have the color back SPOILER!!: Kurumi's tabletop |
Sarah opted for the bags that the professor was offering. The bag was cute. In it she placed a blue aquamarine stone, a jade stone, a Amethyst stone, a ruby stone, an emerald, a saphire, a violet stone and some more stones that she never knew the name of as well as a pointer. She loved the intricate way the stones were cut. She also liked the differece between the purple-not-so-finely-cut stone and the others. She felt rich! SPOILER!!: gems "Professor, will synthetic stones work?" she asked. (oos:pointer not shown in pic) |
Ohhh. Someone doing magic in class? Who would do such a thing? Aspen the Innocent-Faced put her wand on her desk, same as all the other Innocent-Faced. No big deal. Aspen got up with everyone else to get her stones, too, but just carried hers in her hand. She chose all black, the smallest, most miserable - most depressing - stones of the lot. Twelve black, round stones and one that looked like an arrowhead? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...ntitled-25.png |
loooong D: "...show what connections are present in each stone's meaning. Alright everyone..." Wait, no. That was wrong. Louisa was so absorbed in her writing she missed the whole dramatic angry pause the professor pulled off. Quickly, the girl crossed over the last two words and lifted her head confused at the sudden change of tone. Nothing really seemed that threatening. However, Louisa bent down to get her wand out of her bag which was settled on the floor by her feet. There was no need to have her wand on her in a class such as divination because... duuh it wasn't DADA. Heh. Wand on the desk before her, the girl was ready to go stone-hunting! She got up to her feet and headed for the table with the pouches and... oh. Colorful ribbons. She wanted to snort at the way Elwood seemed to enjoy Divination and give it a sense of... girliness. internal SNORT. It was weird after having Thereos as professor, Louisa gotta admit that. But it was... cool. Kind of. She grabbed a pouch randomly and went on to the stones. Her eyes blurred for a few seconds at all the colorful small & large pieces! They were far more varied than they seemed to be from her seat. She started passing her hand over them slowly, trying to feel their essence and energy as a professional Divination-er would do. Louisa thought that she had a hidden knack for this subject... even if it didn't show at all. She liked listening to all the predictions and correlations between earthly properties and future. No feelings were conjured by touching the stones, however. She sighed after a moment or two and got down to choosing the stones by their looks. So much for reaching for her inner Eye. OKAY.. First the sun, that was easy. Louisa's eyes scanned the piles for all the bright yellow gold and beige-like stones. She didn't care about the shape but there was this flat stone that was really... goldish. Almost bright. She popped it into the pouch as the sun. Moving on to the moon. It needed to be pale, of course. Louisa's hand started picking up stones looking for any... Ohhh! Here is one. It was kind of rectangular but.. it'd do coz it was greyish. She popped it into the pouch. Saturn. HMMM. The Prefect moved just a bit to come across a STUNNING collection of stones. Her eyes literally sparkled for a second before her hand found an orange spiky stone and tossed it into the pouch as Saturn. Venus, which was commonly known for love and feminine and whatnot, MUST be pinky or reddish. It must. Louisa picked up a pinky stone that looked like a water drop if held in certain position. It was very smooth, too, which could relate to Venus with its love connection. Anyways... Mercury should be a small one. Just as Louisa's hand moved some stones out of the way, something small rolled to settle close to the table's edge. It was a black, weird looking.. stone? Or was this a bug hiding inside? D: The Prefect squinted her eyes at the thing and brought her face cloooose. She wasn't going to hazard holding a BUG. With some random stone, she poked at it to see if it moved or.. flew. It didn't. So it wasn't a bug. She picked it up with a satisfactory smile and tossed it in the pouch as Mercury. The other purple-bluish stone that looked like a pyramid and used as a bug-poker went in after that as Mars. She was getting impatient with this stone gathering already. Jupiter was next, Louisa looked in another part of the table for this one. A turquoise and black stone (that could be a pointer too maybe) stared back at her. Louisa popped it in as Jupiter and went on for the Earth one. There was this jewel-like green stone. Louisa immediately thought 'PERFECT POINTER' when she saw it. She picked it up as her Earth stone. A round brightly silver and almost crystal round stone for Air. The Ravenclaw placed it with the other stones enjoying the sound of clatter all her stones made in the pouch. Fire. She needed something dark and fiery color at the same time... and she found it. A rather big and uneven burgundy-colored stone sat so powerfully on the side. She took it as Fire stone and moved on. But before she even looked at the other direction, a crystal light blue stone was innocently snuggling with another one with black and white parts on it. She smirked and picked both stones up. The crystal blue one was Water, the black and white one was Spirit. They looked pretty unique too. Lastly The Universe. She took a thoughtful moment with this one, trying to find something... generic and fave the idea of union or something like that. She absently moved stones over and over until coming across a small white stone with a small blue one attached to it. It was united ish and... well, this could go for The Universe role. The girl tossed the last stone into her pouch. With 13 stones Louisa went back to her desk and waited for further instructions. SPOILER!!: Louisa's stones |
...It's last two states to be declared... João Neves is leading the elections by 10%... It looks hard for the second party to close up now, doesn't it?.. Wait, WHAT?! WHAT were they going to do?! João's head snapped up as if he'd just woken up. He had just woken up from watching Pualie's trousers, in fact. And he was still giggling to himself. He didn't know WHO had done it, but it sure looked good on the boy. He should tell that to him, sometime. Hehe. When people started moving around, his smile was replaced by a frown as he tried to figure out the current activity. Oh. People seemed to be choosing stones. He got up hesitantly. They were definitely getting stones. So... he got up after Louisa--was she even here?!--and took a look at them. He probably shouldn't peek though. So, looking away, he got his hand inside in one of the bags--people looked to be taking from TWO bags--and counted 10 stones. He did the same for the other bag and counted 3, before returning to his seat. Once at desk, he lay them carefully and started examining each one of them. Two of them were black. One of those were very smoot and thin-round, while the other was quite jagged, fat and more ball-like. He put them down, picking another one that was white and very light. It was also thin than thick and it looked more rectangular than the rest. He liked that stone but had to put it down to pick a grey one. This one was long and pointy, and also had a rough surface. It was almost like debris. Maybe it was a part of debris. He shrugged. He didn't really care. Next was a colourful one. It was of yellow and red. He liked the smoothness of it too, and it looked like he had picked more thin stones than fat ones. After that a blue stone, thin and round shaped again. And then, he found it. The best stone in this whole 13. He wondered whether he would be noticed if he simply slipped it into his pocket at the end of the class. It was almost a perfect ball, and big too. It was half transparent and there stood a ray of redness stretching from one point to the opposite. He wondered if he was the lucky one to have found it. Hopefully, this would mean something good in his divination. Hopefully. It was very hard to place the stone back on the desk and not in his pocket. But in the end, it was lying somewhere very un-attention-drawing. He didn't want anyone to find it. Instead, now he was holding a very regular, light pink stone. Big deal. He put it down, trying to ignore the urge to grab the previous one, and picked a light brown one that was long and pointing too like that grey one. He merely shrugged to himself. So did all these mean something? Hopefully. Next came a stone of yellow, and then green. All were thin and round in a way. He was surprised a little when he found another perfectly white stone. This looked like marble, in fact. It glinted in light. It was again ball-like and the surface was so smooth that he thought it was machine-produced. And the last stone, this one was grey again. And sharp at one end. And rough. He hated grey. |
So proud of you guys with your awesome posts! ^_^ Once the students had finished pulling their stones from the glass bowl on her desk she scotted it and what remained to the back of her desk and pulled her own Lithomancy rock set in a pearl white silk pouch from her desk drawer. "Good job everyone. I am happy to see that you all have taken the time to pick out what stones spoke to you and many of you contemplated the meanings of each one and tried to match it with stones of corresponding character." Or just because they were pretty, that was a type of connection. heh. "If you haven't already, take the time to familiarize yourself with your stones by touching and playing around with them, while I take a mintue to set up the next demonstration." Calista smiled at them all, taking note of the sparking stones on their desks, and turned to her own desk. She untied the bag and used the long string of brown twine to make a circle reading feild on the surface of her desk. She then poured her stones into her hands and felt their cool surfaces for a few minutes trying to clear her head. "Alright everyone, if you'd look up here I am going to do a reading of my own for you all to see what it is we do for this before setting you loose on your own." Professor Elwood closed her eyes again. "You'll want to clear your mind before casting, try to think of nothing or at least try to access the beyond or your Inner Eye." Yeah easy enough. The blonde then dropped her stones into the circle with some noise seeing as it was a wooden desk and then she looked at their positions. Quickly before doing anything else she grabbed her wand and made a swooshing motion over the reading and then pointed it at the board. A diagram of her reading feild appeared on it so they could better see. Quote:
Grabbing a piece of chalk in her hand, Professor Elwood then began to write quickly on the board, her thoughts on her reading, and after a few minutes turned around so that they could see her notes. SPOILER!!: Professor Elwood's Notes and Reading "This is what I want you do now. Cast your stones into a feild made by the string that is holding your bag shut or use one of the ones over there on the table if you didn't take one of my bags and then write down your notes for each week to the best of your abilities. I look forward to seeing what your future's have in store for each of you guys." Callie eagerly wrung her hands together and watched them. OCC: Alright so ideally I would like a picture like I have done (it doesn't have to be perfect. You can use paint, Photoshop, etc. or edit in your stone graphics from before). And your notes for each week don't have to be quite as detailed as mine but I would like your best effort. Your reading should include at least one cluster and one pointer stone. Good luck! I shall be keeping this portion of the lesson open for at least 2 days. ;) Feel free to ask questions or VM/PM me for help. Points will be awarded so no worries on that. |
Alyssa quickly took down notes as the Professor explained what they needed to do next. She removed the string from the purse that she had borrowed from the Professor. Then she made a circle with the string, trying to spread it out as wide as possible. Next she picked up all 13 stones and held them in her hands. As she held them in her hands, she closed her eyes and then tried to clear her mind. She concentrated on blocking out the noise and then tried to empty her mind of all thoughts, breathing in and out slowly. Once she felt she was ready, Alyssa then dropped her stones into the circle and watched where they landed. She leaned over and began to study them. |
Text Cut: DanialRadFAN01 Sierra felt like laughing, but of course she didn't. You could tell Ellwood was no Slytherin. Hufflepuff, she'd guess, just by the way she'd said 'so rudely'. Rude?! No! Not at all! Whoever had changed the Head Boy's pants color was a GENIUS. Sierra thought it was hilarious, thank you very much. Still, no laughing from her, though. She knew how to appreciate things without damaging her own accomplishments, after all. Pushing herself out her seat, Sierra walked over to the pouches and stones, selected a pouch, and then began filling it with stones. Once it was filled with thirteen stones, Sierra peered into her bag and saw: http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...onessierra.jpg Most of the colors she had were chosen because they looked like the actual color of the planet, or they were the color associated with the element. The spirit stone was black, though, because she was reminded of how spirits were souls no longer here. Then the air was green, because...well, there just wasn't enough green in her pouch. She wasn't quite sure why the universe was lime. She just liked the color. Text Cut: DanialRadFAN01 Sierra took her stones out of her pouch and began rolling them around in her hand. She wasn't sure why she really needed to familiarize herself with them, but oh well. It was just something to do while she listened to Ellwood. So now she had to do just what Ellwood had just done? Hmm. Not too hard. Maybe. Maybe not. Only time would tell... |
...try to think of nothing or at least try to access the beyond or your Inner Eye... Again, Kurumi could hardly contain a snort and instead played it off as if she had been coughing. Nothing to see here...But, seriously. How did you not thing of anything? Telling someone to think of nothing was like telling someone not to think about pink polka dotted dragons. You just did! Kurumi dismissed the Inner Eye bit. Yeah, no Inner Eye here so Kurumi wouldn't be accessing the beyond. First, Kurumi picked up each of her stone individually, as they had been told to do sort of, and familiarized herself with them. Which, erm, was mostly her just looking at the colors and the way the light reflected off some of them, before she set them all down on the table once more. Kurumi rummaged through her bag for something that she could use for her string and found a shoelace that she had been using to play with Walnut earlier. That should work, yes? Setting it on the table, and over a piece of parchment where she had drawn the corresponding lines to make up the quadrants and all that, she made a circle with it and then scooped all her stone up in her hands. She began to shake them gently, mixing up the various stones, and then released her hands to drop them on to the table. SPOILER!!: Kurumi's tabletop Leaning back in her seat a bit so she could get a better view of the whole spread, Kurumi noted that nothing had fallen in week one, so that meant nothing should happen. Which...made no sense because things were always happening. Again, Divination....guesswork...how was is possible to have nothing happen in a week's time? Whatever. Kurumi's gaze was about to move on to the second week to make a brief analysis when the Gryffindor suddenly froze and her eyes became vacant of any expression. Her hands were on either side of the circular spread on her table, but were frozen in place. She didn't hear anything and if someone were to come up and poke or shake her she wouldn't feel that either. So, there the Gryffindor sat, her head hanging downwards slightly at the stones on the table, frozen in time. |
Derrick returned back to his desk and sat down.He put his stones on the table and looked at the Professor. She was starting to speak again so he listened.Once she finished he went through his bag trying to find some string. He found some deep down in his bag that looked like shoe lace.He put it on his table and made it into a round shape. He picked up his First stone looked at the table in front of hiim.He slowly threw it onto the table and watched where it landed. He threw the next Twelve and studied where they landed. |
'You'll cry.' Pffffffft. Paulie rolled his eyes. If Paulie were to cry, it would be due to IMPORTANT things. Not silly Ravenclaw girls. Besides, it was not like she was ACTUALLY going to-- ...... -___- His pants were PEA GREEN and POLKA-DOTTED. With color-changing polka dots, mind you. The Head Boy released a small gasp upon seeing these bright trousers. But, truth be told..... he actually thought it was pretty funny himself. And then, to top it all off - the cherry on top, was Professor Elwood calling everyone's attention to it by demanding the class to deposit their wands on the front of their desks. Hmmph, lucky Aspen was such a speakpot! No consequences for her. His eyes darted to Aspen as Professor Elwood was addressing the class about it. He shook his head a little bit, but the corners of his mouth hinted at a smirk. Yes, this meant PAYBACK. Beware, Aspen Odessa, this Head Boy was QUITE the experienced schemer... :shifty: But now Professor Elwood was having them take their stones. So, with his pants still pea green and polka-dotted, Paulie made his way up to the front of the classroom to take a bag and pick out some stones. He picked out ALL bright ones. Because... when there were such pretty colors, why take the boring, run-of-the-mill rocks? Without even really realizing it, he chose stones that showed similarities to the general colors of the planets or colors associated with the elements. He'd gotten a pretty good variety of shapes, and he had made sure to get one or two pointers. Once he gathered all the lovely rocks and placed them in the bag, Paulie meandered on back to his seat. SPOILER!!: stones Professor Elwood continued now, explaining the next part of the lesson. As he listened, he slipped the stones in between his fingers. Now to drop these bad boys. |
Nigel had all of his stones ready and just dropped them on his chart or wheel thingy. SPOILER!!: Horrible Tabletop He liked that none of the stones got on the lines. He was also surprised that he got his Air Stone in the first week. So that must mean that something was going to happen this week that had to do with wishes, hopes, dreams and inspirations. But he did not know what because he did not really wish for anything yet. But Nigel really liked what was going to happen in week two. He had Jupiter which represents money, justice, and prosperity. He also had Water that represented personal healing and compassion. So he was going to get money and feel happy and compassionate . Nigel really liked get money. Nigel had know idea what to do with the pointer stone that he threw so he just left it where it was. |
Annabelle heard the professor's directions and was ready to take the challenge. She had her bag of rocks ready and began to breathe in and out slowly. Hopefully her future predictions were not gonna be so bad. She took out one stone and watched where it landed. The next 12 stones she took in her hand and let them fall. When all the rocks reached their rightful places, she studied where they landed and had her notebook handy. |
Finally, Sierra thought she'd done a pretty decent job of familiarizing herself with the stones. She didn't really see why that part was needed, but then again, when had she ever understood Divination? As long as she knew which stone was which, she thought she was doing good enough. Taking a piece of parchment paper, she drew the lines that were meant to be inside the circle, the ones that one would divide each of the sections. Then, taking the string that had previously been holding her pouch together, Sierra formed a circle on her desktop. Next, she grabbed her stones and held them tightly in the palms of her hands. She cleared her mind as much as she possibly could. When she was sure there was nothing blocking her Inner Eye (or whatever the professor supposedly thought they all had), she gently tossed her stones into the circle. Not too hard, not too soft... It was just a toss, so that they'd all stay within the field. Looking down, she saw: |
After familiarizing himself with the thirteen stones, Jory made the circle fro the string from the bag he had as the Professor told them. Taking a deep breath, he cleared his mind. This took some time. Imaging trying not to think of anything. Afterwards, the badger tossed he stones, making sure not to toss them too hard nor too gently. Carefully, he began to study where they had landed. |
The sounds of the students pulling out parchment and setting up there readings began to ring throughout the stuffy classroom and Professor Elwood began to float around observing their progress. Everyone seemed to be on tract by setting up their reading fields and preparing to cast their stones. "Good work everyone, if you have any questions or need help just call me over." Quote:
Callie was happy that the Prefect had become so engrossed in Lithomancy after the girl's beliefs laid out in her previous homework. But-- ..... She wasn't moving. Professor Elwood knew that look. Was it possible?! "Kurumi dear? Miss Hollingberry?" The woman tried to get the Gryffindor's attention but she didn't look up. IT WAS HAPPENING!!! "Kurumi you've done it! You've accessed your Inner Eye and are IN THE BEYOND!!" Calista exclaimed excitedly and clapped her hands eagerly. Oh she was so proud! OCC: Keep up the good work everyone, you will have until Sunday 3:00 pm (EST) to get this done. |
Alyssa looked down at the stones which had landed in her circle after she had dropped them. SPOILER!!: Alyssa's Circle of 13 Next thing she had to do was figure out what the formation and clusters of stones and where the pointers pointed to represented. Alyssa pulled over her notes and reviewed the meaning of what each stone represented. Text Cut: Alyssa Divination Journal Alyssa rubbed her head. She was starting to get a headache again. This wasn't going to be easy like she thought the practical would be, but Alyssa decided that she would at least try her best. 'Hey if I was meant to really know all this, I wouldn't be in this class right now.' Alyssa thought to herself. |
Ella had been playing around with the stones on her desk, doing her best to familiarize herself with them. She quite liked the assortment she had chosen so she felt good about using these particular stones in her reading. Once the Professor was all set up for her demonstration, Ella stopped playing around and focused, taking down some notes as well. When it was her turn, Ella used the string to set up her field, doing her best to make it big enough. Then, the second year closer her eyes and attempted to clear her mind. She wasn't exactly sure about this inner eye business but if she could get in touch with hers, closing her eyes would be the way, yeah? ...She didn't have to like-chant or anything, right? The little blonde decided against it. That might be going a bit overboard. After concentrating for a few more minutes, the second year felt ready to drop her stones. She did so carefully, but with enough force so that they didn't all land in the same spot. Hopefully she had done so correctly. The scene in front of her now looked a little like this: SPOILER!!: Ella's Tabletop Now to figure out what it all meant. |
Sarah first made her feild, trying to make each part as equlateral as possible. Then Sarah emptied her bag into her hands, clasping the stones firmly in her hand. She shook them around in there for a while and onto of her field she dropped them (on purpose). The stones scattered like this. SPOILER!!: tabletop Sarah took out her notes and started examining her forecast. Meanswhile the teacher was gushing as Kurumi, Sarah;s prefect had hidden sight. Sarah always knew her prefect was the best and was so special, she noted with pride. Then she went back to her parchment. |
And kurumi omg! D: + lmao at Elwood xD It was when the professor made them pay attention again that Louisa saw something crazy. Paulie-crazy. Why exactly was his pants polka doted? And an ugly shade of green? Louisa grinned at his back from all the way where she was sitting. His year as Head Boy was not easy, y'know. It only meant two things; either he did that on purpose in a gesture of rebellion again his badge, or someone wanted him to look like a fool. She made a mental note to take this fact and cherish it RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE. Hehe. Moving on.. The Ravenclaw watched the professor throw the stones and followed very intently the explanation that followed. The way she interpreted the correlation between the stones' spots and life. It was amusing. Louisa didn't believe in that fully but she wanted to try and see if it worked. None of the other methods of Divination worked before but... who knows. She unhooked her pouch, put the stones on her lap before stretching the cloth on the desk before her. Gathering the stones in both of her hands she threw them on the desk, trying to make them scatter as much as possible and they did... SPOILER!!: Louisa's stooooooones Getting her parchment on her lap, the one with the notes. She started inspecting the stones and writing her interpretion on a new parchment.
