After making your long journey to the seventh floor and after ascending the Divination Tower you finally arrive at the trap door leading up to the Divination Classroom--what can you say, the Hogwarts Staff wanted only the dedicated students to attempt the subject. After climbing the ladder into the classroom you will see that the once nearly empty room from the two previous terms before is now full of desks again and many other items brought by it's new inhabitant.
Go ahead and take a seat at one of the many chairs set up two to a small table on the risers at the far end of the room but as he you do you will pass the Professor's desk where a number of incense were burning. The room was stuffy as usual, with curtains pulled overly the windows.
Professor Elwood was seen sitting at her desk a small smile on her face as she nevously awaited the students of her first lesson as a teacher. Her parrot Galileo was sitting on his perch in the far corner of the room with a small sign on him that said, "Do NOT feed for fear of losing a finger!'.
The lesson shall begin shortly.
OCC: Welcome to my first lesson ever! Be sure to read the Divination Classroom Rules and familiarize yourself with them. I don't want to have to take points this early in the term. Also I will be updating this post with links to important things through the lesson so you won't be lost.

Vickers was duly taking notes and somewhat distracted by the parrot when the Ravenclaw's head spun sharply back towards the Professor.
They were going to dress up as what?
Icy blue eyes traced the contents of the trunks as it was revealed to them, that spock-like eyebrow of his going up the more he looked at the clothes. It looked like something out of a costume party. The kind that he was happy not to get invited to. Not that he gets invited to many but whatever.
Slowly he slid out of his seat and picked out the safest pantaloons and baggy shirt that he could find. And swiped a turban as well. Not that he was going to wear it or anything.
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes
They were going to dress up... as fortune tellers? Kaiden had never dressed up in his life, and he couldn't believe he had to start now. Dress up was for girls and sissies. Leaving his robe at his desk, and reluctantly headed over the the trunks that had all the costumes to start digging around. Finding a button down shirt with a loud print, he put it on, and the put a bright vest on top of it. Avoiding the turbans, he found a hat and popped it on his head. Right before he left the tower, he puts several bracelets, necklaces and rings on. He was ready.
Taylor went over to the trunks after slipping off her robe. She pulled on a flowy skirt, grinning. Tay loved how the skirt was. She then put on a sparkly shirt and two shaws. Taylor grimaced and slipped on a turban also. Tay slipped on some bangels, necklaces and charms. After everything was on, she headed to the grounds as were the teacher's instructions.

"Definately, crazy outfits and stuff are exactly what many of us think about when talking about fortune tellers due to Muggle films and the occasional eccentrics." She had seen a few of those.
Jade smiled as Professor Elwood agreed with her answer. She actually felt sort of...smart. Well she was smart, but now that a Professor had agreed with her answer she wondered why she had skipped so many classes last year. Hmm...
Oh right, getting dressed; the most dreadful part. The brunette walked over to the trunks and got out a flowy skirt, a beaded purple shirt, and loads of jewlery. She placed them over her robes and put the necklaces over her head and bracelets on her arm. She wished she had a mirror, she felt as if she probably looked horrible. She then followed the Professor out into the grounds.
Selena liked to play. But one game she hadn't liked since she was little was dress-up. Selena listened to the professor and scribbled down notes in her book before she sighed. They had to dress up now, apparently. Flowy skirts, tunics, feathers, turbans, jewelry. At least there were shiny stuff right? Selena did like things that shone like her badge. She assumed fortune tellers didn't wear pygmy puffs on her head seeing as there were no pygmy puffs here. The Slytherin walked over to a trunk and immediately picked out a dark purple turban. To match her absent pygmy puff.
Selena slipped her robes off and pulled on a beaded shirt. She liked the beads, they were very pretty. Just like the turban. She donned the long flowy skirts that people apparently wore before setting the turban on her head. She was pretty sure she was taller now, like... three inches or something. Maybe she'd wear a turban permanently for fun. The seventeen-year-old girl smoothed out the purple skirt which matched the turban and the matching top with light green beads on it. Selena then took a whole bunch of different gold necklaces and slipped them around her head and the turban so it'd rest around her neck. Finding a green ring, Selena stuck that on her finger, adding several gold bangles around her wrist as well.
Hehe... so much shiny. When she deemed herself appropriate, the Slytherin skipped out of the classroom, following the professor.

So they were dressing up and going out to the grounds? Well, at least this class didn't seem boring so far, though she didn't understand why they had to dress up or what they were going to be doing outside. She had to admit some of the outfits looked interesting and pretty, not that she would actually have worn them in public except for a costume party.
Silvia left her robe at her desk and walked over to the trunks to began sifting through them. She was worried that some of the clothing might be a bit big on her. She pulled out the smallest pair of pants she could find, a dark blue pair. With her skirt still underneath it, it should fit okay around the waist, though it was still too long. The small Ravenclaw preferred pants over skirts, so she pulled it on, then rolled them up.
Next was the tops. It didn't take long for her to find the perfect one; it was a light blue tunic with thin layers of a purple cloth draped over it in several places, and wide sleeves that stretched to her elbow. There were also a few tiny golden sparkles spread out across the tunic. Now at the trunk with the shawls, Silvia chose a purple one to wrap around her waist and a blue one to wrap around her forehead so she matched.
At the jewelry trunk she started off by putting on a lot of bangles on both wrists; but then she pulled most off her left wrist and all on her right wrist because she really wasn't the type to wear bracelets. She completed the costume with a gold star-shaped necklace with a small crystal at its center, and a small ring on her right hand. The neklace was probably her favorite part of the entire outfit.
Feeling that she was dressed up enough, Silvia turned to follow the rest of the class out of the tower.

Addie stared at the trunks full of odd clothes to be worn by the class. This was going to be a very interesting class. She took off her robes and rummaged through the trunks of odd items. She found a very interesting long floral skirt and pulled it on over her pants. Next came a brown spotted tunic of some sort. She looked down at herself, what a fortune teller she had become.
This was so much fun. Addie dug through the trunk with shawls finally coming up with a brown tasseled shawl. She slung it around her shoulders, how perfect was this. The final addition to her outfit was jewelry. She dug around the trunk before coming up with a big funky ring, feathered necklace, and gold bangles. She looked down and examined her masterpiece. Awesome! Addie liked this teacher.
The Professor flicked her wand again at the trunks and they each opened up revealing the very things they had listed. "You are going to dress up as one of these stereotypical Fortune tellers in order to partake in the next part of the lesson." Each of the trunks had something different in it: The first had flowy skirts and poofy pants for the boys, the second had tunics and other feathery and beaded shirts, the third had turbans and shawls, and the fourth had jewelry (bangles, necklaces, charms, and rings).
"Now come on up here and get dressed over your clothes now please." She didn't need children getting undressed in her classroom. "You may remove your outer robes though and leave them at your desk. Once you are dressed please follow me out to the Grounds." Professor Elwood grinned excitedly, she couldn't wait for this next part.
Ariana grinned, this was shaping up to be a pretty fun lesson so far! She stood up and walked over to the trunks, tripping over her own feet only once (a new record!) and even then not falling, just stumbling slightly. She grabbed the first skirt she saw, then discarded it, since it was an ugly puce colour. After examining several others, she chose a long, flowing skirt with rows of tiny gold bells that jingled when moved. Perfect!
Continuing with the bell theme, she searched until she found a pumpkin-orange blouse with an embroidered bell on the front and more jingle bells on the sleeve hems. As Ariana ran her hand over the smooth satin stitches, she decided to take up embroidery. It seemed like fun. She quickly slipped out of her robes and put the shirt and skirt over her clothes- a little awkward-feeling, but she could understand not being able to undress in a classroom, of course. Especially one filled with boys. Shudder.
And now, for the accessorizing! Ariana quickly picked out a set of ten or so necklaces, bracelets, rings, and clip-on earrings. Weighed down by these, she finally took a shawl and flounced out of the room after the professor, feeling (and acting) ridiculous.

Dressing up, eh?
Dylan was unsure how he felt about it, at first...but he didn't want to seem like THAT GUY. So, moving forward out of his seat, he began picking various items...
After all, he had done some modeling taken pictures before, all in different styles of clothing. It wasn't that big of a deal to him...As long as he didn't have to wear tights again. THAT incident would never be repeated.
Taking the pieces back to his seat, Dylan removed his robe. After draping it over his chair, he started pulling random things on. It had been his experience that these Fortune Tellers hardly ever matched. So, the blonde felt confident in the fact that he might not match himself.
A pair of brown billowy pants, white tunic, and black pinstriped vest later...and Dylan felt he was hobo-ish enough. All that was missing was a moth-eaten fedora and some black eyeliner...and THEN he'd be totally set. Pulling his father's dog-tags out from under his shirt to let them hang, he smirked.
Oh, if his mother could see him now. The good, gentle woman would've had a heart-attack.
Chucking at the thought, Dylan pocketed his wand. It was a bit comical since he did not appear the least bit imposing in his runaway-thief-that-joined-the-carnival get-up. Shrugging, he proceeded to follow the others outside to the grounds.
Dress up? Awesome! She quickly walked over to the trunks and began rummaging. First she found a purple with silver bangles. She tied it around her head like a bandana, her blond hair now poofed a bit. She then found a white cropped peasant blouse with puffy, purple sleeves and silver accents. She soon found a dark blue skirt with a silver net-like draping. The threads were too thin to see, but where they crossed, there was a bunching of the thread, making the skirt look like silver stars on a night sky. Then she turned to jewelery. She took various bangles and put them around her wrists and ankles. Then she put a bunch of necklaces around her neck. She liked the way they jingled. She put a ring on each hand. She opted not to wear shoes, which was something she did as often as she could.
Kennedy - who had been taking notes - snapped his head up so fast his hair bounced like springs. They were going to dress up? What was it with the professors at Hogwarts and dressing up? If it wasn't one class, it was another one. He did a sort of pout, but stood up nonetheless. It was all for good marks and points.
Yeah.
He went up to the trunks and stared at it for a while. He had no IDEA how to dress up, so he just began grabbing whatever he thought was suitable, although none of it was.
Hmmmm...
Poofy pants...green beaded shirt, a turban and lots of beady necklaces and rings. He wasn't going to wear bracelets. Oh no! That would make him feel girly and he wasn't girly. He was a manly fortune teller. When he was done, he followed the rest of the class out to the grounds.

And why did they have to dress up in there stereotyipcal clothes while the professer just said that that was not what divination was really about?
She dressed up for the fun of it anyway! She looked arround in the trunks for stuff that was bbbbbbbbllllllllaaaaaaaackkkkkkk! Black skirt, Black sholl, black shirt, Black bandanna. Good to go. Now for the bangels, they went fast so Charlit had slim pickings on what was left. She chose some yellow ones, and sliver, and well as orange. And she added two big purple hoop earings which looked good with the black bandana. Now she looked like a scarry fortune teller!
This lesson was weird and fun! She had learnt things she had never known before. Like about the stereotypical fortune teller outfits. She had only seen one but she didn't if it was a muggle or not. When she heard that they were going to dress up as stereotypical fortune tellers she immediately liked the idea and got dressed. She had a simple head scarf like thing and light and baggy clothes. This was cool. She definitely wondered what they were going to do next.

Ugh.
Sierra did not want to dress up as a fortune teller. Blahh. It didn't seem like she had much of a choice, though. She sighed and moved up front to where the clothes were. Stopping by the first trunk, she picked out a long, white, flowing skirt. She slipped it on over her uniform skirt then moved on to the next trunk. From that trunk, she chose a colorful beaded and feathery shirt.
Checking out her appearance, she frowned. She looked like an older woman in this outfit. Well, not because her face looked old, but because her clothes did. In the next trunk, she picked out a turban, slipped it on, then moved to the final trunk. After decorating herself with a bunch of ridiculous jewelry, she turned and followed the professor out onto the grounds.
Now this was a class worth participating in. Jezzabelle was glad to her that she wasn't the only one who found the muggles as misleading in their perceptions. And to make things even better they were going to get to dress up. Oh what would she wear? Then they were moving to the grounds, how exciting. She ran up as fast as she could and grabbed things to put on.

Erm...Kurumi wasn't sure she knew what one of these stereotypical fortune tellers looked like, so Kurumi sort of hung back for a few minutes and watched what others were taking before she went to look at items herself. She grabbed a ruffly dress and some boots and some beaded bracelets that she slipped onto her arms right away. There was a rather feathery necklace that looked somewhat appealing, so around her neck it went as well as a few rather LARGE feathers in her hair that she tied back in a high ponytail.
Changing into the dress, Kurumi felt...awkward...and quickly slipped on the oversized boots thinking that somehow that would make things better. Nope, being three sizes too big for her only made things worse and ended up somewhat stomping around the room as she gathered a few more things - like earrings and an obnoxious butterfly pin - before following the professor out of the classroom and hopefully not falling down the stairs and towards the grounds.

That was until he walked up to the trunk. Each of the Outfits looked so funny and ridiculous. He grabbed a pair of Poofy magenta pants and a matching Turbin with two large feathers in them. He threw off his robe and slipped his poofy pants over his school dress pants, and dropped his turbin over his head. He rumaged through the trunk one last time, and pulled out a few rings and a white vest. He slipped these one and felt more like a Sultan Prince than a Fortone Teller.
Alyssa was still fanning herself trying to cool down when she saw Oakey in his outfit. She smiled because he did look pretty cool in the outfit he was wearing. He actually looked more like the Prince of Persia than a Fortune Teller. So she walked up to him and whispered,"Not bad Oakey. You actually look pretty cool in that outfit despite the fact that we're supposed to look dumb like I am feeling right now in my outfit."
Mika didn't know what to wear at first until she felt herself drawn to a rather flowy shirt. Grabbing it she quickly threw it on pulled on a ridiculous skirt and shoes - sandals really. Gladiator ones - because they just screamed ridiculous fraud. She didn't feel ready.
She put a long necklace around her neck - it had many chains and bits that were quite confusing and in the end it was discareded in exchange for the noisiest bangles she could find. Ones that Slink-clunk-clanged every time she wiggled a finger. Matching bangles on both sides of course and then she found it a hideous but still cute shirt. It was flowy and in a kimono style but it worked for her look and the final piece.
Her white turban. She pulled all of her hair - or almost all making sure to leave white wisps of blond hair out she pulled on the turban and wrapped her hair underneath it in a large over sized bun. The bun made her hair look lumpy and lopsided like a crazy buffoon who couldn't see or didn't own mirrors.
It was perfect. Now one thing was missing. Pulling a pair of LARGE round glasses out she placed them on her nose. Yep those were perfect. If any of the ghosts aw her they'd recon she was related to one Sybil Trelawney.

Nerida thought Dress up, cool! But she didnt really have any ideas on how a fortune teller would wear.. She decided to wait and look at what other people put on, after getting some really cool ideas she took off her outer robes and left them at her desk. She then stepped over to trunk number one, and pulled out a long flowery flowy skirt and pulled it on over her skirt.
She then went on to trunk number two, shirts. After going through many of the shirts and tunics she found one that would match her flowery skirt a bit, a pretty flowery flowy shirt!
She stepped over to trunk number three! Turbans and shaws. No way was she about to put on a turban! She picked up a white shaw and put it on.
Lastly she walked over to the last trunk! Her favorite, jewlery. She found a couple gold arm braclets and put them on and found some gold beaded earrings and put them on as well, over all she thought she looked okay and luckily for her she didnt feel hot under all the clothes!
She then left following the Professor to the grounds in her gyspsy wear.

UGH. Beezus grimaced. Now, she regretted answering Professor Elwood's question. She was feeling like was was obliged to wear that gypsy inspired dress and knee length flowing skirt, since that was her answer. Meeh, but someone was surely happy about this, the eaglette thought.
Of course, her best friend would really really really love this. She loved dressing up and this was just the MOST appropriate activity for her. With a sigh, she walked over to where the trunks were, grabbed a few garments that seemed to caught her attention, some bangles and jewelries, and eyeglasses.
She then took off her Ravenclaw robes and placed on her fortune telling costume.

They had to dress up. Lily was one of the slower ones taking off her Ravenclaw robe and going up to the front of the class to play dress up. She wasn't exactly into the whole 'dress up' thing but she didn't really have a choice so she tried her best to play along and do as the teacher asked. Once she felt that she had 'dressed up' enough, she headed off with the rest of the class down to the grounds.

Adarian raised one eyebrow. Dress up? Really. He stood draping his outer school robe over the back of his chair and proceeded over to the trunk. He pulled on silver poofy pants and rifled around until he found an aqua blue tunic. Not too bad considering. Adarian then went to the finance and shawl box, he grabbed a leopard print shawl like thing and wrapped it around his head like a bandana. He then chose one sapphire ring for his right hand. Satisfaction, he thought laughing in a low tone. He proceeded to follow the already dressed students outside.

Whoo hoo! Dress up! Emmanuelle loved dressing up! She quickly slipped off her outer robes and hurried to the trunks. She quickly pulled a white flowy pheasant dress out of the first trunk, a red sweater with slightly uneven hem out of the second, and a light blue bandana and a bunch of silver bangles and different lengthed necklaces out of the last two. She slipped these things on over her uniform and hurried out to catch up with the rest of the class.

Perhaps it was the answer to the first question of dressing up that stumped Kimalia, really? The art of appearance even transcended to Divination? Yet there the trunks appeared and now she could ditch her school robes for the clothing there.. Hmm, okay then.
Kimalia picked out a very flowy green skirt, with a long sleeved buttoned up beige top. Hmm.. now a smirk appeared, perhaps she could accessorize. Were sunglasses allowed? Well, she will find out now as she picked out a pair to go with a scarf, and necklaces, before finally tying her hair into a short bun. Guess she was ready now, as she followed the rest of her class outdoors. Hehe.
Ooooooooooo~ New clothes they could wear without paying! Nice...
After taking off his Slytherin robes, Xing excitedly skips towards the front of the classroom where the boxes are. From the first box, he takes an orange poofy pants and wears it over his school slacks. It's poofy, so it won't be uncomfortable. Moving on, the boy picks a pink shirt with green feathers on it. Ignoring the third box which doesn't interest him, Xing puts on a few rings he took from the last box.
As O-Fuse's most fashionable member, Xing must say he looks very stunning.
