Dervish and Banges is a small, dusky little outlet located at the end of the street in Hogsmeade. Squatting between a few wooden pillars painted to look like marble, the green and gold building seems to be more of a remodeled mausoleum than a Wizarding place of business. As you enter the hideous, peeling green door and inhale the thick scent of sawdust and mildew, you'll likely question whether or not the shop actually was a mausoleum at some point.
Squeaky floorboards, musty smells, and creepy feelings aside, the place may appear to be in an eternal state of decay, but the sagging shelves stocked full of shiny, brand or like-new knickknacks say otherwise. The shop sells both new and reconditioned items of both the Wizard and Muggle variety, such as...- Do-It-Yourself Cauldron Repair Kits (or for a fee, D&B will do it for you!)
- (kit: 1 galleon, 13 sickles, 11 knuts) (repair: 2 galleons, 11 sickles, 16 knuts)
- Replicated Goblets of Fire (looks hilarious to drink out of!) (3 galleons, 8 sickles, 2 knuts)
- Omnioculars (new: 4 galleons, 7 sickles, 28 knuts) or (used: 2 galleons, 8 sickles, 5 knuts)
- Remembralls (new only) (1 galleon, 8 sickles, 9 knuts)
- Replicated Resurrection Stone Rings (great gag gift for your grandparents!) (2 galleons, 16 sickles, 18 knuts)
- Sneakoscopes (handy) (2 galleons, 3 sickles, 4 knuts)
- Spectrespecs (quirky) (1 galleon, 16 sickles, 22 knuts)
- Restored But Non-Functional Time-Turners (nerdy) (2 galleons, 8 sickles, 5 knuts)
- Wand Repair Kits (useful) (1 galleon, 3 sickles, 7 knuts)
Take your time, walk around, pick up one of the coupons off the back counter, and try to not be intimidated by that looming shopkeeper just behind it at the back. He doesn't talk much, but he's got it where it counts, kid. Oh, and don't steal anything. Roundhouse kicks to the face are not fun....for you.

'Twas the weekend, and with it bein' the big anniversary an' all, Saul was expecting a boatload o' children ter come runnin' down the streets any minute now. He wasn't sure when they'd changed the rule about only lettin' in ones 13 and up, but he sure wasn't happy about it. He would never voice his opinion openly, much less to the Headmaster of the School jus' a stone's throw away, but he sure would grunt and gripe about it to himself.
Silently. As he did all things, such as dusting the counter and re-stacking the pile of goldish coupons. Si-lent-ly.

Curiosity more than anything was what brought Penelope into this shop. She had no idea what the shop name meant or what it had in it, and that was probably why she decided she'd stop by here. She cast only a brief glance at the shopkeeper man behind the counter before heading down an aisle to look at the stuff on the shelves.
What WAS all this stuff? All these weird glasses-like things... What were they called? She squinted at the names before deciding she didn't care about figuring out how to pronounce those big words.
Turning towards another shelf, she finally found something that caught her eye. GIANT cup goblet things. Those looked pretty nifty. Imagine all the food and drinks she could fill it with!

The first year was just as curious as the Greenwell girl it seemed. She liked the strangeness of the building with its peeling green paint. Walking in she just chuckled when the floor squeaked - her little Pygmy puff always made sounds like that.
Dev would love it her. She nodded to herself as she looked around.
And then she spotted it.
The perfect thing for her - a GIANT cup with flamyness going on about it. She wanted it she wanted to dump the flames on someone and see if it set them on fire. Yes, flames. She liked the flaming goblet of doooom. Then she decided to keep looking.
Spectrescope she read the label and giggled taking one and holding it - she wanted one. She was going to get the nerdy little hour-glass thingy as well. Sure it wasn't real but it was timewimythingy and timeywimeythingies were superdooper cool!
"Ooooh cool thingies" she pointed at the timer turner and Mika just smiled.

There were... little 'uns in his shop. Little 'uns lookin' at the Goblets o' Fire, little 'uns walkin' around, little 'uns creepin' on his Time-Turners, little 'uns.
Saul felt an urge to stare at the children, as if he wasn't entirely sure they were real (especially GIRL little 'uns in a shop like HIS) but he refrained. Didn' wanna scare 'em off, after all, not when he was supposed to be handin' out coupons or somesuch.
He did clear his throat ever so slightly, though, and gave the coupons a nudge toward the edge of the counter.

Penelope didn't pay much attention to the other first year who had also entered the shop; her attention was mainly focused on those "goblet of fire" things as she was very much considering getting one. It was so BIG and she could probably fit lots and lots of food in it and keep it all up in her dorm so she could eat whenever she wanted. Then she wouldn't always have to go all the way down to the Great Hall from her dorm just to eat. How cool would that be?

She made her decision just as she heard the shopkeeper man clear his throat, and she turned her head in his direction just in time to see him nudge the coupons. Oh yeah, those things. Might as well use one on the goblet things. It was probably the most expensive thing she would be buying all day.
Snatching one of the goblets off the shelf, she wound up having to hold it with both hands since it was heavier than she'd expected, but she managed to carry it over to the counter and set it on top. Then she grabbed one of the coupons.
"I can use this on this thing, yeah?" she asked, holding up the coupon and pointing to the gigantic cup thing.

From the busy Main street, Vickers peered through the windows of the rather shabby shop. It wasnt the shop's appearance that he cared much for, but rather what he saw within.
Pushing the door open he saw the shopkeep and a couple of young Hogwartians. He nodded politely at the man with the hat before spotting the stack of coupons on the counter. Excellent, looks like he can get an even better deal and make his allowance stretch till Christmas. He took a coupon then read the fine print, before making his way towards the shelf that held the Cauldron Repair Kits. But then he spotted the Wand Repair Kits. Greeeaaat, now he has to choose.
Decisions, decisions....

10% of 3 galleons, 8 sickles, 2 knuts....was..... Saul did the calculations mentally and then grunted out the girl's total. "3 galleons, 2 sickles, 5 knuts." ........ "Please."

And then the knuts were the bronze ones. They didn't start with the same letter, but they were the only type left. So she quickly pulled out the three gold coins, two silver ones, and five bronze and placed them on the counter one-by-one. "That right?" Always good to make sure.

Tiffany has already been in here for three years but it's really a first time for her seeing such an old shop, locating in Hogsmeade.
Curiously, she opened the door and took a step inside. There were lots of things that she had never seen before. Well, interesting. Along all those unfamiliar things besides her, she saw a quite familiar person standing in front of her who reminded her of a senior student who was supposed to have graduated already. Vashti Greenwell.
She went forward to reach this pretty little girl. "Hi,"she smiled cheerfully, it was a first year girl indeed.

He could gift wrap it too, but he wasn' offering unless she brought it up.

Taylor entered Dervish and Banges from the main street of Hogsmeade. She never been in this shop before, despite coming to the town before and passing it a few times. Tay figured that she would at least look in it so see what it was all about. She wandered around the aisles, looking to see what the store has to offer. Taylor noticed the shopkeeper but didnt make a move to acknowledge him since she was just looking for now and he looked busy.
