| | DADA Lesson Three Defense Against the Dark Arts Lesson Three Set up much like the previous lesson, the warm winter sunlight coming through the large windows brightly illuminated the arena, making the purple mats that were lined up perfectly in the middle of the area easy to see. The usual small trays stationed in front of each to make it easier for note taking were there as well. The only difference was the lack of dark curtains that would cover the windows, and the braziers were gone due to the fact that they didn't need them. The weather was warming up on it's own.
A variety of metal creatures were placed around the room; a few familiar examples being the nundu, dementor, and the snake. Some hovered off the ground, slowly twirling as if there was a draft, while others seemed to follow you around with their eyes. They've been enchanted to move on purpose, and while they aren't particularly dangerous or possess qualities that the real deal may have, handling them roughly could make your interactions with them may lead to a rather unsteady path. Yes, that is hissing you hear from the snake, and perhaps a growl or two with a few other interesting noises from the creatures that would come up every now and then, but honestly, they don't bite. Or do they? These creatures seem to have gained a more predator feel to them since the last they were seen.
The professor is currently sitting on her mat up at the front, wearing her interesting pair of goggles from the previous lesson while her metal spider ran around her in circles. Please come in and take a seat, or use the time before the lesson starts to look at the sculptures. OOC: Forgive the late start. My computer is having major issues at the moment, so bare with me here lol.
Class has officially begun! Please, don't post your character arriving late, or beware the consequences.
Just jump in with the lesson as if they've been here the whole time. The Creatures are set loose! |

Nigel was just trying to keep distance between him and the Nundu and keep practiceing Stupefy. Which he had to admit he was get better at. When he hears that class was now over. He was a little disappointed but at least he learned some spells that would help with his final project. "Thanks for the interesting lesson Professor Romanos"
Nigel said as he went to leave the class, wondering what their homework was going to be about.

Alyss was about to get ready to practice the Placement charm on the onrushing Kelpie when it suddenly stopped in its tracks. Alyssa was surprised because she hasn't even dropped the bridle on it. Then she heard the Professor tell everyone that class was over. She sighed. 'Just when I was having fun. Oh well she says that we'll get to practice doing it again for home work. Hmmm....I wonder what it will be?' Alyssa thought to herself.
She holsteted her wand, walked over to where she had left her backpack, picked it up before making her way to the Professor.
"Thank you for allowing us to practice the spells on the animated creatures Professor. It was definitely a challenge. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed your lesson. Here's the bridle." Alyssa told the Professor handing it out to her.

Sarah was very intent on the Riddikulus charm when the teacher announced the lessons end. Sarah sighed -she was having so much fun. "Thank you for the lesson professor -when I walked in at the beginning of the lesson I was unsure of the wand movement for the Riddikulus charm -yet now I have perfected it! Is it possible that a boggart could be found in hogwarts, that Gideon and I can practice on?" Sarah inquired. Small chance, but it was worth the try!

Laura winked and then class was over, that was good, hopefully the Professor wouldn't ask her why she had just spend all the time sat down and not actually working.

With her fake!cucumber in hand, Kurumi continued her silent survey of the classroom for the rather elusive metal kappa. There were no explosions or anything going on at the moment, so at least that was a good thing, right? Meant that her classmates were not struggling too much with their own metal figurines.
Walking around a bit now, Kurumi continued to look for the kappa when it seemingly leaped out of no where. Only it really didn't leap...it more waddled out from behind the stage and made its way towards Kurumi. As it came closer, Kurumi waved the cucumber to try and entice the metal creature...only it really didn't seem to be too interested in the fake cucumber at all...
Ummmmm...
Waving it a little more furiously, it was becoming more and more clear to the Gryffindor that this was not going to work. Maybe on a real kappa, but not on a metal one. It continued to get closer and just as it reached out with both its skinny arms towards her...Kurumi threw the fake!cucumber as hard as she could at the creature's face and, with a rather loud squeak, took off in the opposite direction. "It seems our time is up for today. You'll get to practice more later for your homevork, so keep an eye out for that announcement and finally...you are free to go." Flailing her arms slightly as she ran, Kurumi ran riiiiiiiiiiiiiight past the professor as she called the lesson. Oh thank Merlin.
Rushing back to her bag, Kurumi gathered her things and looked around for the kappa again. Thankfully, it was on the other side of the room still...and with the cucumber stuck to its face. At least Kurumi knew she could perform the spell...that was the important part of the lesson after all, right?
With a swift farewell wave to the woman, Kurumi made her way out of the classroom before the kappa could figure out how to unstick the fake!cucumber from its face.

Medea smiled, placing the bridle Alyssa had given her near her own mat ash she listened to the young girl's question. A real boggart? In Hogwarts? There were how many floors and rooms in the castle again?
"I'm...not quite sure." she chuckled quietly, looking back to Sarah. "It is true, there are many spots in the castle where one can hide, but..." Medea paused briefly. "I vould rather you two not go off looking for one. You'll have more chances to practice the spell during your homevork."

When she heard the reply at first Sarah's face fell for a slight sliver of a moment then she smiled again - obviously the professor had a good reason for denying her request."No problem! Thank you for the lesson" with that Sarah gathered her things and walked out.

Having a student become lost or hurt was not on her list of things to happen. Now...
How did this cucumber get stuck on the kappa's face?
