Winter was setting in to the grounds and with it came a whole new set of responsibilities for taking care of the growing dragon known as Roro. Dragons were wild creatures and by nature liked to have free roam of wherever they were living; however, having a dragon at an educational institution meant that Professor Williamson had to take certain safety precautions when getting said dragon ready for winter.
Today, he had set up the barn for an afternoon full of work; the students didn't know it yet, but they were all going to be acting as dragonologists in training today. First things first though, they had to get here, and Willy had to finish setting up.
Sitting just outside the barn door was a horseshoe-shaped assortment of hay bales, all of which had been charmed to feel as though one was sitting on a sun-warmed rock. Inside the open barn, and just visible to those sitting on the hay bales, was a giant, emptybaby pool and something that looked like a big harness....
No professor was in sight though. While you wait for class to start, why not take a seat and at least keep your bum warm?

What did you know the baby dragon was coming out to play...or eat...and hopefully not them. Wait a minute...it seemed like the dragon was on a mission. They don't eat people right? Hannah glanced around nervously towards the professor. He wouldn't let the dragon hurt them right? GULP!

Dragon hide gloves on... yes.
But... what were they going to do?!
To say that Nora wasn't excited about this, that would be a lie. But the moment Roro the not so tiny, fluffy creature appeared... Look at him, all grown up. Watching his tail thumping... she only hoped he wouldn't want to play with it... you know, start playfully hitting them.

As she tried to come back to her senses, Nora gave the dragon a small wave. Hi, Roro!

Emmanuelle had been there whole time. Yep. There was was just no way she was going to answer the question about what exactly was in the buckets, because other people's answers had made her absolutely sick She was glad the dragon was going to be eating that not the class. And speaking of the dragon…
They were now being asked to call the little thing. Well, here goes. " Wwwweack!" she called in her best squeaking voice. And either the sound of the class' calls or the smell of the 'food' had lured Roro out. Emmanuelle's guess was the later. She decided to keep her distance jus in case.

Alyssa almost jumped up and down with glee when the Baby Dragon came out from his little hidey hole, but she caught herself in time, when she noticed that it looks surprised seeing all of them.
"Okay I guess it's time for me to back away isn't it, Professor." Alyssa asked as she slowly backed away from the baby, not wanting to alarm it any further. "Come on little one. It's Nom Nom time." Alyssa whispered to it.

Hehe. And if the ferrets didn't work to keep Roro calm, well... Willy had tranquilizers.
He paused as an unexpected, but not entirely unwelcome yet guest showed up to his class. Uh, all right, maybe she'd gotten his memo about the dragon baby a little late... the hatching had occurred months ago. But whatever; William nodded at the woman regardless and then carried on with his lesson. Anyone who wanted to care for a creature was always welcome in his class.
"All right, so here's what we're going to do today. First, we're going to call Roro out to play! Then, we're going to give him some exercise, help him take a bath, and finally, we'll end by trimming his nails. IF you all remember to REMAIN CALM and KIND whilst handling the dragon, we shouldn't run into any issues today. All right?"
Nodding as if to show the class the correct reaction, William clapped his hands together and rubbed them. Brr, it WAS getting nippy out here! Might as well put on his gloves now, which he always kept in his back pocket. "Everyone has their dragonhide gloves on, right? Right. Well, let's call Roro out now! Everybody do your best dragon impression!"
No, he wasn't going to tell them how to ACTUALLY call a dragon until they tried it and made fools of themselves first.

They were not simple-minded crups, after all.
So in his stall Roro stayed, closing his lazy dragon eyes... lazily.
Just as he was drifting off into a little dragon nap, the smell of something nommy caught the attention of his little dragon nostrils, and he just had to poke his nose out of his stall.
FOOD! Food food food food foodstuffs!"Eorrrrk?" Roro called out softly, thumping his tail a bit. Was it REAL FOOD SMELLS or was it just his overactive imagynation? "EEE....ee.....eork?" He shuffled out of his stall and stretched his scaly neck out toward the studentsies and foodsies.
OH FOODSIES. Roro recognized those buckets! He thumped his tail harder and waddled toward them, gaining speed the closer he got to the buckets. He spied the students a moment too late, however, and put on the brakes, skidding to an abrupt, wide-eyed, sideways halt about six inches away from the nearest hay bale.
PEOPLE. Gosh. Lots of little people.

He smiled to himself when he got the answer right, remembering it mostly from that eventful night of the hatching. But when the Professor asked them to call the dragon out he was startled when all sorts of noise erupted from the rest of the class. Plus a whistle.
Actually thats what he would've done too, the whistling. But only after he's called out the dragon's name and made noise on the food bowl, or in this case bucket. Its what he does with his pets. Because barking and squawking at them never amounted to anything other than being ignored or getting a look like he's gone loco.
Ah but now he sees the not so little baby dragon... galloping at them at full speed. There was something about the image of a large reptile coming at your general direction thats just a bit scary, like the hard-wired instinct of fight-or-flight suddenly kicks into gear. Vickers unconsciously took a step back, just as Little Roro skidded to a halt. The Professor said to KEEP CALM.
Yes keep calm, breathe. Get the dragon hide gloves...
...Dragon hide gloves.
He stared at the gloves on his hands. Would a dragon really appreciate being held by the SKIN of its OWN KIND? Thats like asking if he would be happy shaking hands with someone who had gloves made of HUMAN skin...
Ewww.

So they are going to meet baby Roro today. And do some washing and taking care of him. With the amount of students that are present right now, Roro might be quite alarmed, won't he?
The professor then instructed to get their dragonhide gloves, Jonathan unzipped his bag and took them out as well. Everyone knows that they're going to have to feed the baby dragon with the contents of those buckets. Jonathan shrugged thinking of it, even if they have their own gloves for this. Eck!
But he's still glad that once again, he can meet the dragon. This time a little bigger than the last time. Hooray!

Jory was excited to see the baby dragon. The creatures fascinated him very much. His dragon hide gloves on, he looked around as Roro came out of hiding.
"Hello, Roro,'' the boy said softly noticing that the dragon seemed rather surprised to see so many people at once.

Kennedy tugged at the end of his dragonhide gloves again, making sure they were properly on. He did a little whistle thing when Professor W told them to call Roro. It was sort of a long, smooth whistle. The kind his grandfather would use to round the chickens when he visited him in Mexico. It didn't take much longer of the students making funny noises for the toddler dragon to come out.
A grin spread on Kennedy's lips and a curious glint took over his green eyes. He crouched a bit and tapped his hands on his knees. "Hey, there little guy," he greeted the dragon. His father have BETTER give him a dragon for Christmas.
Sophie wasn't able to control herself when some of the students started making... "dragon calls". She put her hand over her mouth when she bursted into laughter. Luckly she was able to control herself when the dragon came out.
She watched it staring at them, looking scared, while she wiped the tears of laughter from her face.
Zhenya had almost started to run down the hill to lesson, but avoided doing so as she was sure she would trip and roll down. She finally came to the area they would have their lesson and walked in to see a giant pool and a... something else. She frowned at it, hoping she didn't need to get in the water. It was far too cold, even though she used to go swimming in Ice Water. But not today, she would not.
She saw her friend's hair and walked up behind her. She poked her lightly on the back before sitting next to her with a smile. "Hey! Uh... do you know what's going on here?" she asked, trying to spot the Professor who was... nowhere.

But she had way too much on her mind last lesson that she stopped paying attention to what was being said. People around her were saying blood and brandy? Gross. She had thought maybe animal intestines or something. She wouldn't want to eat that. Maybe if the blood was actually berry juice or something she would drink it with the brandy but it wasn't, so she wouldn't touch it. Either way, whatever was in there was sure to make her disgusted.
They would be WHAT? Zhenya was getting scared now. She had never really been interested in all those animals. Especially not... not dragons. They frightened her the most, in some ways. Well, in all ways. She gulped and listened to what they were doing. Quickly she shoved her dragonhide gloves on and wished that she had a dragonbide body suit to protect her, but surely the Professor wouldn't let Roro hurt the students. Although she wouldn't be surprised if he was more protective of Roro than them.
Desiree jumped as she felt someone poke her from behind, she turned with a smile, it was just Zhenya. "Hey! I have no idea really.." she eyed the pool, "Going for a swim maybe?" she laughed. But she really hoped they weren't.

Ohh so that's what the pool was for!
They were going to give a dragon a bath. Well she was right, it was definitely going to be an interesting class. But they were just going to call it out here with them..? Desiree knew it was a baby and all, but it was still a dragon. But she took the Professor's advice, remained calm, and put on her dragonhide gloves. Anyways she couldn't wait to see Roro! He couldn't be that scary.
But what exactly was a dragon impression? Was she suppose to breath fire or something.. She gave it her best effort and it came out somewhere in between a bird and a dying cat. "EEeek""Eeerk!" She was probably going to scare the poor thing away. She looked over at Zhenya who seemed less than thrilled about it and couldn't help but laugh a little. "Scared of a little dragon Zhenya?" she joked with a grin.
And just as she said that...
SHE SAW HIM!!!
He came out slowly, the poor thing really was scared. Not surprisingly though. She would be too if she was in his position. Everyone staring at him, making weird noises. She just watched for a while, not wanting to crowd him. She had never seen a dragon in person before. "Hi Roro.." she said as quietly and as softly as she could manage. No more dying bird calls.
Silvia made sure she had her dragonhide gloves as the professor showed up. She was glad she wasn't a dragon; the food in those buckets didn't look very appetizing, though she was sure that dragons thought differently. But she was excited they'd be getting to work with Roro today.
How exactly did one do a dragon impression? Silvia sat quietly, not sure just how one should call a dragon; and besides, all of the other students seemed to be making enough noise to attract its attention. So she just kept her eyes on the entrance to the barn, waiting for the baby dragon to make its appearance.
Awwww, she thought, as little Roro finally came out. He had definitely grown some since the last time she had seen him. Her excitement overrode any nervousness she might have felt as he quickened his approach. Then suddenly he came to a stop and stared at them. Oh no! was he afraid? Dragons weren't supposed to be afraid. Then again, most dragons probably didn't encounter this many humans until they were much bigger, and this one was being raised away from its usual habitat.
"It's okay, Roro," she said to the dragon in her best soothing voice, but without moving any closer, lest she scare him even more. "We're your friends." It didn't have anything to be afraid about; they would all take good care of him today, she was sure.

Zhenya looked at Desiree and poked her tongue out, "I'm not scared of a.. a... a..." she started to say but couldn't. It was there. The dragon. It was NOT a baby! It was... HUGE! She let out a sharp squeal and toppled over backwards. She was terrified of the thing. Being scared was an understatement. She regained her posture and sat back on whatever it was she had been sitting on, and looked at the dragon. She was alert, ready to run if she needed to, and she probably would get up and run away.
She wasn't sure what it was. Looking around, most people were quite happy to coo the dragon over. Maybe she just had an irrational phobia? That was likely...

OH MY STARS THERE HE WAS!!
Kurumi continued to make her dragon noises, but did so rather softly as Roro made his way out and held her breath when he came to a stop. It was sooooo tempting to reach out and pet him, but the Gryffindor knew better and instead tried something that she had read about in her kneazle magazine. Slowly closing her eyes and opening them in a slow blink, Kurumi attempted to transmit that he was safe and no one she wouldn't bring any harm to him. In her magazines, this gesture was calling kneazle kissing, but perhaps it could work for dragons as well?
The poor guy did look rather uneasy.

Willy, admittedly, had a hard time also not laughing his bum off at some of these students' "dragon calls." What he SHOULD have said earlier was that the best way to call a dragon was to simply whistle and/or use its name, but even then there was no REAL, OFFICIAL way to call a dragon. They're wild animals, people, not pets. Except for his. Roro was clearly the exception.
What he said instead sounded suspiciously like a long series of chuckles and snorts.

There was a flurry of different people calling out, and all those mixed up noises sounded really, really weird. Chelle decided to keep quiet and just listen to the others...
Until Roro came out.
Flying speghetti monster! Boy, is he HUGE.
Wasn't he supposed to be a baby?! THAT'S not what babies look like!
Chelle felt her legs take a few involuntary steps backwards. Yes, she was stepping away from the dragon and the others.
Yeah, that's right, bro. Go eat your food like they're telling you to.

Laura looked at the Baby Dragon, oh he was cute but was he a bit scared with all the people around. "It's okay sweetie." Laura smiled. "no one is going to hurt you." Nope she was more scared of it hurting them. "You should eat something if your hungry, I'm sure it tastes nice." Laura really liked this dragon, though where the Professor got one she had no idea.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Daichi noticed that Kurumi sat a little closer to him after he had sat down. Which made him feel a little more safer. He was glad he had told her about his fear over the summer. Well, actually she had more or less guessed it correctly. But that didn't matter cause he was sure that if he panicked , Kurumi would try and calm him down. Gah he loved his friends~
So his answer hadn't been right? Mweh. Daichi wondered what Brandy was but before he could even raise a hand in the air to ask the students around him began to make weird noises.
O___o What were they doing?! Had he missed something? Of course he had otherwise he wouldn't be so confused right now! The Slytherin scratched the back of his neck and looked at his fellow students in confusion. He had one weird class..that's for sure. And as he surveyed the room and the students thats when he noticed it...
The foor feet tall dragon running in speed towards the buckets. Daichi let out a yelp as he quickly took the gloves out of his bag and placed them on. "please don't breathe fire, please don't breathe fire, please don't--" he kept mumbling these words over and over and when the dragon stopped and looked at the students Daichi clenched his fist tightly. "Please don't breathe..fire.."
For a moment, Daichi thought the dragon was standing still and getting ready to attack. But when the creature stayed still he slowly unclenched his fists. It...it..was..kinda..cute. The way it was so nervous..hehe.
So baby dragon. Selina was not exactly sure, now that she was thinking about it, if dragons were allowed to be pets, but then again Professor Williamson always did do things his own way. And the dragon was, in a weird way, kind of cute. But she looked out at her classmates that were making fools out of themselves doing all of these ridiculous dragon calls. If Selina was a dragon she would have run BACK inside and hid from all of the disturbing noises everyone was making. Then again she wasn't a dragon so who was she to say what exactly was an appropriate dragon call.
Except when the Professor called for the dragon it was simple and not so annoying to the ears- it was the dragon's name. Unlike the rest of her classmates, she kept her mouth shut and watched the dragon interact with the Professor. This was league's more fascinating than trying to wolf whistle or whatever her classmates were doing. Besides, she did not want to scare the dragon off.
elephant-astic•wanderlust•stay in the ninedaaays the original Taco Belle•look at the flowers✿
Ella watched as Professor Williamson tried to wrangle the little guy and keep his attention on the food that was waiting for Roro. She walked back out from behind her hay bale and sat again, amused by the scene. Daddy Williamson really loved his baby dragon, that much was clear. As the second year continued to watch, she got curious about the dragon feedings and raised her hand. "Professor, how many times a day do you need to feed Roro?" It seemed like a lot based on how big the dragon now was.
Watching it getting out of the egg was alright. After all, how many times in a life did one get to see a dragon getting out of the egg? But, doing all those things for a dragon? João wasn't so sure. Though, on the other hand, maybe... if the professor was POSITIVE it was okay to handle it...
Looking intently, he eyed the little creature and tried not to panic for the moment they were to take care of it.
He heard some of his classmate making this ridiculous 'dragon calls' even Ella who happened to sit next to him. Don't you dare laugh, Messer! Girls never like to be laugh at. So quickly cover up his laugh with a cough before his fellow Hufflepuff realized that he's laughing at her.
Then there it was. The DRAGON!
Well, its still a baby but that didn't stop to amaze him. He never saw a real live dragon before. He only saw it from the muggle movies. Was the dragon afraid to them? Poor dragon.

Looking around the area, Sierra was suddenly glad she'd opted just to whistle. Even then, she'd felt silly trying to call the dragon, but at least she hadn't started making weird noises like Hollingberry had. That girl seriously needed a reality check.
...and then---the professor! Roro had nearly mowed them over, and all Willy could do was clasp his hands together like an overjoyed father?! REALLY?! Sierra watched as the professor ooo'ed and ahh'ed over the dragon like it was a real baby, which begged the question--what would Willy do when Roro was fully grown and had to go to the wild? Surely the dragon wouldn't treat him like a father then...
She craned her neck to get a better view of whatever it was going on. Hopefully not someone being flamed to death.
Walking toward the front of the barn with two heavy buckets of dragon food in his hands, Willy seemed so surprised to see a class of students gathering around the doors that he nearly dropped both buckets.
Huh. Guess he had posted a notice about class.... yeah, yeah guess so. He remained standing there looking shocked for about five solid minutes before something shook him from his trance.
"Oh, hello," he greeted the class, nudging the empty baby pool off to the side so that he could set the dragon food down. "I guess it's time for Care of Magical Creatures, eh?" He chuckled and glanced over his shoulder as if he was expecting someone else to show up.
Well, no matter. He'd go get the dragon shortly. "So, on the topic of magical creatures, we're going to pick up roughly where we left off last lesson with Hogwarts' resident baby dragon, Roro."
ROROROROROROROROO!
"Before I go fetch the baby," Willy grinned to himself, remembering the last time he'd told someone that he had a baby, "does anybody know what I have in these two buckets?" He gestured toward the dragon food. "Here's a hint: humans would find the content repulsive...."
Belle copied down what the professor said. In the buckets there was chicken blood and brandy in the buckets. She already knew that from doing the previous homework.

No, he wasn't going to tell them how to ACTUALLY call a dragon until they tried it and made fools of themselves first.[/color]
Belle heard the professor and decided it was time to put on the dragonhide gloves. She saw Roro and thought the baby dragon was very cute. She was impressed with the dragon, she tried to get a better view and stood on her tiptoes. She hoped the dragon wouldn't breathe fire on her.

Babeh!
Okay... so it was baby dragon. But it was still cute! It was.
Okay... so it was kinda threatening. But cute in a threatening... she didn't really want to touch it... kind of way.
She looked around. Why did she have to be sitting by herself? She should have been sitting next to some brave older kid that would jump in the way of any oncoming attacks protect her.
Anya tentatively raised her hand. "Professor... what do baby dragons do if they feel threatened...?" she asked slowly. You know... for future reference.
