Winter was setting in to the grounds and with it came a whole new set of responsibilities for taking care of the growing dragon known as Roro. Dragons were wild creatures and by nature liked to have free roam of wherever they were living; however, having a dragon at an educational institution meant that Professor Williamson had to take certain safety precautions when getting said dragon ready for winter.
Today, he had set up the barn for an afternoon full of work; the students didn't know it yet, but they were all going to be acting as dragonologists in training today. First things first though, they had to get here, and Willy had to finish setting up.
Sitting just outside the barn door was a horseshoe-shaped assortment of hay bales, all of which had been charmed to feel as though one was sitting on a sun-warmed rock. Inside the open barn, and just visible to those sitting on the hay bales, was a giant, emptybaby pool and something that looked like a big harness....
No professor was in sight though. While you wait for class to start, why not take a seat and at least keep your bum warm?

Then she overheard that voice asking for partners. Sophie narrowed her eyes and turned her head slowly in the girl's direction. EEVIIIL! Yeah, that girl didn't deserve any partners! Sophie hoped she would find none. That's right. NONE!
But wait. What? GAAASP!! Had that other Slytherin girl just asked evil Hannah to join the group THAT LAURA WAS IN?? Sophie frowned and moved around a little to be able to see Laura's reaction.
Alyssa laughed when Sophie asked her whether she was cold. "Nah...a little water won't kill and it's drying up right now, anyway." Then Alyssa noticed the look Sophie gave the boy in their group.
She leaned over and whispered in Sophie's ear,"Uh is somebody interested in someone?"she grinned at her friend, nodding over to Nigel.

Nerida looked around quietly for a group. She finally realized it couldnt but help just asking Does anyone have room in their group for one more? Hoping someone did, that would be terriable if no one had room for her at all, and then shed have to sit on the sidelines, and not walk a dragon...Siting on the side lines suddenly sounded a tiny bit better... Still looking around for any possible group that wasnt yet full...

How on earth their teacher thought it reasonable for a couple of school kids to watch over a dragon seemed sensible, he didn't know. Just knowing and thinking of all the possiblities of what could happen with this class today scared him.
"And we're really watching over this dragon?"Tag asked in a slow, hesitant voice.

But then she suddenly heard her name, and her head whipped out to find its source. Oh. Anya. And she seemed to have gotten Tag to go over too? Well at least it was someone she knew.
"Yeah, sure," Penelope answered, reluctantly uncurling herself from her position on the warm hay-bale and making her way over to the two Gryffindors. She reached them in time to hear Tag's question. "Guess so," she replied with a shrug. Then, remembering the professor's instructions that the groups had to have at least four people, she asked, "So we need another person, yeah?" Who would that be?
Anya grinned as Tag made his way over to her. And now Penelope was here too. "I'm sure that'll it'll be fine..." she insisted. "They don't normally kill us in lessons." In fact, it hasn't happened while she was in school. But... she had heard it had happened before.

He quickly called up to her "Hey Anya. You want me to pair up with you?" he asked. He wasn't even sure if this was a good idea. Dragons’ could be dangerous at times.
Maybe if i don't have a partner professor could send me back to the common room he thought.
Anya grinned as Zack asked if he could join. "Sure Zack." she said with a smile. "You remember Penelope from quidditch." she said. "And this. This is Tag." she said introducing her teammate to the first year.
Yay! Now they had four people. Perfect.

Hopefully she would be alright though seeing as her sleeping didn't make sense knowing what he did about her. And the slytherin boy had mentioned possible fainting.
His distraction with his friend, he missed the mention of grouping up with three to five others to walk the dragon and Gideon couldn't help but sigh. Not another group activity where he was left searching around for anyone left over for him to pair up with. "Any group have room for another person?" he asked aloud standing up and looking around for any possible options.
Anya waved over. "We could use another Gideon." she said calling over to the Prefect. Plus, they could use someone older that knew what they were doing. Who better than Gideon for that? Oh! And how fun! They were all Gryffindors. And most of them played quidditch. So they almost all knew each other.

Angelina was having a problem finding a group. She never asked anyone, so that was the problem. Also her friends already had a group so she was out of luck. Why did that always happen to her? And for fun activities? When a girl nearbly asked if she could join with anyone she turned to her she said, "Do you want to be in a group? I've got no one yet."
Mr. Unicorn: Kim's daughter: Jenn's sister : MILKSHAKES: Lita Daley: The Sun: Its so Fluffy!
Tag still found nothing sensible about this lesson. Not that its a bad lesson just very dangerous, but they would only learn with hands on learning. He nodded as the other three Gryffindors made their way, and acknowledged them.
He looked tentatively at the dragon. "Err, maybe we should clean it up first, before walking it." He suggested nervously. Since he was a wee one maybe he was wrong, or half wrong so he looked up to the oldest person in the entire group."What do you guys think? Gideon,Anya,Penelope,Zack?"Maybe their input would be better than his. And when they did start walking the dragon dog he'd rather be in front than guiding it along.

Nerida looked to where the voice had came from to see a slytherin about her age, but she could have been wrong. She walked over to the girl and said Oh thank you! I am Nerida Eventide, third year. And you are? It was always good to know who you would be working with, and besides for the fact that if you didnt introduce yourself it was just plain old rude!

Sophie nodded at Alyssa's words about the cold. Whatever she said then! But it was pretty cold out there where they were, and they would still walk the dog dragon around! It might get even colder!
Then... huh?? What was uuup with everyone lately?? "What?? No! What are you talking about, Alyssa?" She asked clearly confused. Was she talking about Nigel?? How could Sophie be interested in him if she had just MET the boy?? "I j-- nuh uh, Alyssa, you're going crazy I think." Yep, because that was pointless!
AANYWAAAY.
"When are we supposed to walk it then?" She asked to no one in particular. There were a lot of groups already formed. Sophie looked at professor Williamson and waited for further instructions. Because Alyssa was definitely out of her mind there!
Roro finished slurping up his dinner and started wagging his big dragon tail. THUMPTHUMPTHUMP. The tail made a loud banging sound, similar to a hammer, every time it hit the barn floor.
"EORK!" the dragon squawked loudly, turning one of his bright, black eyes on the assembled baby hoomans. Were they gonna plaaaaaay now?

Noting that Roro was almost finished with his food, and missing the Kurumi spectacle COMPLETELY, William lifted his wand to put the harness on the dragon. He froze with his wand halfway to the harness, however, his lips still open in the shape of the spell he was about to mutter.
He remained in this prone, locked position, not a muscle twitching, not an eyelash blinking, for a solid 8 minutes. It was unlikely that any of the students noticed, nor that even Roro had noticed, because everyone was too preoccupied with their own conversations and with forming groups. After the frozen period passed, however, Willy was quickly muttering the spell and placing the harness onto the dragon as if nothing had happened at all.
The harness, once placed on Roro, shrank to an appropriate size and four long, thick leather straps came fluttering out of the top of it. Roro didn't even seem to notice the harness, for it fit so well and still allowed for movement of his handsome dragon wings. Once that was accomplished, Willy gathered all of the straps --- leashes, really --- in his hand and directed Roro a step or two closer to the class.
"Now then, everyone, listen up." The professor cleared his throat and held up the leashes so they would understand. "One group at a time is going to come forward and take a leash; one leash per person, please. If you have more than four members to your group, GREAT. Just remember to share the leashes and perhaps put two of the younger kids to one leash."
He nodded and patted Roro's back with his free hand, reassuring the dragon that this was going to be a perfectly safe activity. "Just take Roro for a spin around the barn, well, the outside ring here." He indicated the hay bales area. "Don't get too far and don't try to overpower the dragon. Be gentle, talk to him, and he'll cooperate. All clear? If so, then the first group can come forward and take the leash."
Be brave, Hogwartians. It was just a baby dragon. Nothing to fear but fear itself.
OOC: Obviously there's only one dragon, but all the groups can RP at the same time. Just pretend that you're taking turns (not going at the same time) and Roro will... hopefully respond to you favorably and will respond as if he's going on separate walks. Be creative with your destination but PLEASE don't RP for the dragon!

Assuming that meant Lily could as well, she realized a group of five might be better than just four. Especially if the Brazilian boy fainted, because she wasn't about to leave him lying on the icky ground by himself. And she'd smiled at the other girl as it had been established her name was Addie, as Kennedy had said that they should wait for instructions.
That made perfect sense, but before that, she figured there was one more thing to take care of. Making sure they all knew each other's names, at least, if they were going to face a dragon together. "well, while we're waiting," she said, sending what she hoped was not a nervous smile toward the others. "I already met João, but I'm Stella. And this is Lily," she said, indicating the little second year who had spoken to her earlier. At least introductions were done, sort of. Now they could wait for their group's turn walking Roro, or whatever exactly it was Professor Williamson was going to have them do.

When it was their turn, Vickers took hold of the leashes and handed one each to the younger Claws "We got more than enough leashes to go around so you can each take one." unless they would like to hold onto just one. He took hold of his own leash and walked to the other side of the dragon, staying well claer of that excitedly thumping tail. His gloved hand was just hovering over its back when he paused, are they allowed to touch the dragon? "Sir, are we allowed to pet him?"

Watching as Vickers handled his baby with care, Willy took a step back and nodded.
"Sure. Just be sure to avoid petting Roro's head and tail directly, as those are sort of 'touchy' places for a dragon." Well, the head wasn't as sensitive as the bum was, but Willy thought it would be better to just avoid having kids' hands near sharp teeth and horns and fire-breathing nostrils. It was probably just a bit safer.

Stella had merely returned the nod as Kennedy had nodded in response to her introduction of herself and Lily. She was a bit concerned about the fact the younger Claw hadn't spoken since the first plea, but at least they'd gotten introductions over with. She could always hope the quietness was just nervousness about walking Roro, too. She had a little of that herself, after all, and obviously João did as well. At least she wasn't in danger of fainting, though she was startled as yet another voice piped up from nearby, asking to make a sixth for their group. The more the merrier, but once again she wasn't about to accept when she wasn't the unofficial leader. The prefect was, and she nodded again as Kennedy welcomed the little Gryffindor to their team.
She;d given the girl a smile as the introductions were continued, as well. "Welcome to our group, Oichi," she said, once it seemed like there had been a pause in the Slytherin's speech. A very short speech, but he'd certainly said more than any of the rest of them as of yet. And then he'd continued to say those five fateful words. We're ready to walk Roro

Of course, there was no way Professor Williamson wouldn't have heard that, either, and her dark eyes went to the man as he'd responded to Kennedy's proclamation. I'm not so sure shy would be the word I would have gone for, she thought, watching the leashes waving around for a moment before taking a deep breath and stepping forward a little. Roro wasn't going to walk himself, after all, but she turned back to Kennedy again with a thought as he'd picked up the leashes from the professor. "How do we want to do this? There's four leashes, and six of us. Maybe pair Lily and Oichi with another person?," she asked. Because they were younger, and that way they'd be hopefully safer. Plus, that way Lily could stay attached to her if she so wanted, since the redhead seemed like she felt like she could be trusted in the face of a dragon. And maybe they could pair someone with João, so the leash wouldn't be flying loose if he did faint.

João couldn't even react to some girl else's joining. He was eyeing the dragon, and was slowly trying to come to terms with the idea of walking a dragon.
An alive dragon.
He watched as if in trance the harness-wearing ceremony. He then heard the words the professor spoke to indicate they should be ready. He watched and heard it all, but still didn't react. The only signs that he was still alive were his blinking and gulping.
They were going to walk a dragon.
An alive dragon.
When Kennedy called out that they were ready, he suddenly shook out of the trance and turned to them at last. He just... he had to be brave and let the others not talk about his fear. He could actually do it. Plus, Aspen was watching and... he'd made a fool of himself already both in Herbology and dungeons. He jsut had to be brave like a stupid 'dork and get over with it.
"I'm... okay..." he said to the others in a weak, but determined voice and nodded as if he was trying to convince the others, though he tried to convince himself more.
He was ready... Aspen was there... the whole school was there... and he certainly didn't want to be all wet and laughed at like Kurumi.

"Let's go grab our leashes. Since there are six of us, we'll have to share the four leashes among ourselves. Is that okay with everybody?" Alyssa asked her friends before going forward to take a leash from Professor Williamson.

But now I have whitnessed the birth of one and now I get to walk him. This is crazy surreal. I absolutoely love it!!!", Oichi said and ended on a bright smile.

Ella was so excited! I mean she was the tiniest bit nervous about the whole walking a dragon thing but MORE excited. She smiled when Professor Williamson finished giving the instructions and turned to Alyssa who was now talking to the group. "Yay! This is going to be wicked!" She said with a wide smile, bouncing a bit.
Ella was actually glad they had a bigger group because several of the group members were quite small, herself included. "I don't mind sharing! Someone can grab on to the leash with me, I'd actually like the help." Maybe Soph, or Messy, or Nigel would want to since they were the younger members of the group.

Nigel was a little nervous about walking the dragon because he did not know what the dragon will do once we start walking it. His other teammates looked excited to do this but Nigel was nervousness.
He knew that he probably could not take the leash himself seeing as he is small and short. So when Ella asked for a partner on the leash it seemed like the perfect idea. "Um Ella i'll share the leash with you" Two is always better than one Nigel thought especially when walking a dragon.

Minerva smiled and looked at Alyssa, "Hopefully Roro will remember I was trying to help him, not the one taking him the other day." She laughed and looked at the dragon. She followed Alyssa up to Roro and she smiled at the dragon, "Hey Roro, remember me? I was the one not sending you flying in the air. I was trying to stop it. So let's remember that and be a good little boy, okay?" she laughed a bit talking to the dragon. The she looked at the leashes and listened to Ella. "Well if need be I can share a leash. Just let me know." She looked around at the leashes, "What if Alyssa take the first one on the left, Ella and Soph take the back left, Mess and Nigel could take the back right or if Mess wants to take the front right I can be in Nigel in the back. What does everyone think?"

Jory heard a girl's voice in reply and looked around. "Thanks a lot,'' he said gratefully, giving her a smile. "I'm Jory,'' he introduced himself.
The Puff looked at Roro. He couldn't wait to get closer to the dragon. Jory suspected if it were a bigger dragon he won't be so enthusiastic. So, he nodded at the girl. "Yup, lets do this,'' he said eagerly.

"Why would I need to dry....oh"It was then that Kurumi realized that she was, actually, soaked to a certain extent. Odd. How had that happened? Shrugging her shoulders, Kurumi sort of just waved her hand to signal to Daichi that it was no big deal. What he said next startled her a little. Cool? She was cool? She was a little chilly...
But before she could reply Sierra made her appearance...willingly? Kurumi's eyes narrowed for a brief moment out of suspicion, but her expression quickly softened when she heard the Slytherin ask if she was alright. "I'm fine, thank you for asking. How are you?" Since they seemed to be asking how each other were and all. Did this mean that Sierra wanted to be her friend? Was she making THE big gesture now? Did Sierra finally see that Kurumi wasn't someone she had to hate? Few people would have covered for her the way Kurumi had when the girl had run away from home and gone to Kurumi's home...IN JAPAN.
Hearing another voice, Kurumi glanced over her shoulder and saw yet another Slytherin. "Hey Mordred," she greeted with a small bow. "Sure...I think..." How many people were they allowed to be with? Kurumi didn't even remember Professor Williamson telling them to find partners, but the more the merrier, no?

"Riiiiight," Sierra said, smirking at Daichi. "...just trying to help." Too bad he really was just trying to help. Drenching Hollingberry on purpose would have earned him so many awesome points with his prefect.
"Dude," she said, looking at the way he was eyeing the dragon. "It's just a baby. It's probably as harmless as a flobberworm." Although, on the inside, Sierra was secretly planning on sticking Daichi and Hollingberry closest to the nostrils of the creature. "It'll be alright..."
Watching Kurumi as she realized how soaking wet she was, Sierra smirked. "Having trouble sleeping at night, hmm?" she asked. Worried too much about which dictionary will be the next meal? Ohh, Kurumi was such a Gryffindor--worried about Sierra when she was the one who fell asleep right in the middle of class and got drenched to the bone. Humorous, really. Sierra should startle her by telling her she missed loads of opportunities to earn house points. How was Sierra, though? "Fabulous," she said, with a certain degree of sarcasm.
It was freezing out, she was partnered with Hollingberry and the should-have-been Hufflepuff, and they were about to walk about a dragon. What's NOT to love?! [/sarcasm]
"Oh, hey, Mordred," she said, her tone lightening considerably upon seeing another Slytherin approach them. "Yeah, cool. I think we're allowed six." ...and this made three Slytherins and a Gryffindor. Out-numberedddddd, Hollingberry!

Nodding to both prefects, Mordred stood in between Sierra and Kurumi—just in case things get “messy” between the two, he’s sure to break it. Slytherin can’t lose house points. Not when they are close to getting the house cup. The boy looked up to the professor who was now holding Roro on a leash giving out instructions.
“Are we ready?” he asked as he looked at his group as he fixed the wand under his sleeve.
