The charms classroom has been completely transformed from the last time you were here. Instead of the hard well polished stone floor, there is a a fluffy white carpet
SPOILER!!: carpet
that covers the entire floor. Colourful cushions
SPOILER!!: cushions
are also placed in neat rows where the desks and chairs usually stood. In the corner of the room stands a large container filled with balls
SPOILER!!: balls
.
There is a sign just outside the door to the room in bold flashing letters :
Please remove your shoes and place them in your book bag or in to the side of the class. As is usual ensure that you are properly attired and neat. When you do enter, pick a cushion and sit on it, keep talking to a minimum.
There professor is standing at the front of the class with her arms folded waiting for you all to be seated.
Max was still busying himself with his non-existent wand when the professor continued on with further instruction. And then his face FELL. The older kids didn't get to play with the fun balls? That was no fun. But then... levitating each other was funny, too. Maybe even more fun.
When Bellaire mentioned a partner, Max looked to Ellie quickly, then examined all the other older students to make sure they weren't planning on asking her, too. Just to be sure, he rolled off his cushion and hurried over to her when they were set free to the task. "Partner?" he inquired lightly, extending his hand out to her to signify to everyone else that it wasn't just a casual exchange. They were going to be PARTNERS.
WHAT?! The older kids couldn't play with the balls? What. A. TEASE, Bellaire.
Ellie had half a mind to steal one of the firstie's balls out of mid air just in spite of the horrific turn of events, when Max stopped her. And she felt much better about this whole thing. Good thing Max was here today. Because she really would have stolen a ball. And Bellaire would lose some serious Ellie-points.
She reached for his hand, ready to accept this partnership, but hesitated, letting her hand hover just over her friend's. "Do you trust me enough?" You know because...if she were to levitate him unevenly...it couldn't be much fun for the boy.
Or maybe it would. Like flying an out-of-control broom.....without the broom.

Minerva smiled at Justin and went over to get a ball. It was just as the professor said it would be very lite, which was good for what they were about to do. Standing away from Justin she looked at him. "You ready?" smiling she put the ball in the palm of one hand and then swished and flicked with her wand hand saying "wingardium leviosa" the ball raised a bit and then fell back in her hand. She huffed not liking to have problems and tried again. Swish and flick "wingardium leviosa" The ball raised again and she followed the ball with her wand and sent it towards Justin.

So once the Professor gave everyone the okay to go ahead and partner up, Selina bolted across the room to reach Kurumi. Usually, when it came to a class setting Kurumi was always the first person everyone wanted to partner with, but she was Selina's best friend and they were partnering up. She claimed her! NO TAKE BACKS! So everyone had to back away from her best friend or else they were going to get the eye and the eye was scary.
As soon as she reached Kurumi she grabbed her arms friend and said to the entire student body, "Claimed her!" Then she turned to Kurumi to clarify in case her friend was confused, "Oh yeah, by the way we are partnering..."
While waiting for whatever was coming next, Kurumi idly waved her finger back and forth while she murmured the spell under her breath. When the Charms professor moved things along, Kurumi just FROZE. Her eyes were staring off into space not looking at anything in particular and her limbs became stiff like a statue. While the rest of the classroom heard the instructions, and Selina's declaration, Kurumi didn't. She wasn't aware of anything that was happening.
When Kurumi unfroze, she nearly fell over when she saw Selina standing next to her suddenly. Wait...when had Selina gotten here? Huh? Partners?
"We need partners?" Kurumi asked Selina point blank, staring right at her. "Um, sure?"

Zhenya could have sighed loudly. MORE partner work? She stood up and looked around to see if anyone from years 1-3 needed a partner. How about Laura? She didn't really care about who her partner was, but she did need one.
"Anyone want to pair up?" she asked loudly.
Elliot had sat patiently, completely refusing to beg the room for a partner. She would simply wait for someone in her year to proclaim he or she needed one...
and then Elliot would POUNCE!
Elliot didn't know the girl's name, but she knew they were in the same year! She the blonde stood up, and tried to wave the girl down. "I need one...I guess we can be partners!" she cried, and made her way through the groups of people to the Slytherin girl. "My name's Elliot, by the way," she held out her hand for the girl to shake. If she wanted to be partners.

Even though Ellie was quite light and he trusted his ability with this spell, there was just the slightest worry in the back of his mind that he'd drop her, just because he anticipated the worst case scenario. He needed to find a partner, and someone in his range of age and year, as the teacher had asked. Tag felt a little lost as he saw people pairing up with one another and he wasn't quite sure who to gravitate towards. And, he spotted someone he kind of knew, someone in his year and house, so maybe this wouldn't be too bad,if she said yes. Slowly he walked up to her, "Hey, err..do you wanna work with me? Everyone else seems to be finding one another." Tag said with a casual shrug towards, if he remembered correctly, Penlope, right?

"We need partners?" Kurumi asked Selina point blank, staring right at her. "Um, sure?"
Selina was too busy scanning the rest of the chest fallen students who had lost out on the chance to have Kurmi as their partner to notice that her best friend was spacing out. It was not until she turned to look at Kurumi as she spoke that she noticed Kurumi seemed very disoriented. That was unlike Kurumi especially in classes. In all the years that Selina had known her, Kurumi was always focused and on task when it came to assignments or class in general. And Kurumi was spacing out in Charms... was it the lesson? No... what was it?
She put her hand on her friend's shoulder and said, "Yeah, we need partners. Hey are you okay? You usually are on top of class assignments." Kurumi was acting very strangely. But Selina shrugged it off as she waited for Kurumi to reply to her. It was not a huge deal that Kurumi was spacing. Selina outright fell asleep in potions all of the time.
... maybe THAT was why she was doing so poorly. Nah, she was just naturally awful.
"We are doing a levitation charm... remember?" Selina said harping back to the lesson. They had to begin.

Kurumi sort of just stared at Selina. What was the redhead going on about? Kurumi was still on top of things. See? Her textbook was on her desk....wait...Where were the desks? And why were they all sitting on pillows on the ground? Was this even the classroom?
Feeling a little disoriented, Kurumi glanced forward and saw that the professor was indeed in the room...looking as though she had just given instructions. Class had started? Since when? Kurumi looked back at Selina and cocked her head to the side. "Selina...where are my shoes?" Or Selina's shoes for that matter. Actually, why was EVERYONE not wearing shoes!? Oh, right, Selina had asked her a question. "I'm perfectly fine," she nodded. She felt fine at least...minus being confused about her shoes that is.
Kurumi jumped to her feet and looked at her friend again when she mentioned a Levitation Charm. "Got it," she nodded as she gave her friend a quick thumbs up. "So...what are we levitating?" Pillows? There were an awful lot of pillows in the room. Were they going to have a pillow fight? Selina and her were good at those.

Ah, good. She knew how to cast the spell. Good.
"Alright." Just to be sure, Nora took a couple of cushions and placed them so she could levitate Alyssa above them and, you know, just in case something went wrong... she'd have some extra fluffiness to fall on. But Nora won't fail. She knew it.

Ellie grinned and squeezed his hand tightly. Out of symbolic meaning of their unity, for all watching. Though, she'd need that hand back soon enough, if he wanted her to cast properly.
She very nearly rolled her eyes when he asked about trusting him. "With my life," she agreed. He should definitely know that for sure. In all the serious Quidditch injuries she's had, Max was there. And as long as Max was there to rescue her, she'd do anything.
Following his gaze to the group of younger students and their balls, she nodded. More space would be appreciated. Especially if unexpected flailing were to occur mid-air.
"Mmmm, I'd like to, if you don't mind," Ellie answered, releasing his hand to unholster her wand.
He could get prepared in any manner he pleased. Depending on if he'd rather be levitated laying down, sitting, or...standing, even though that just seemed silly for some reason.
Unless he did mind and he wanted to go first. That was also okay.

Addie smiled at the girl. "Good," that the girl would be her partner. Now the partner search was over. Onto the spell work. And this girl was excited to fly in the air also. This was great.
"I'm so excited to be flying also," Addie said with a grin before realizing that she had forgotten the most important thing. Addie had to introduce herself to the girl. "I'm Addie Coral by the way. Fifth year Slytherin," Addie said quickly making the first introduction. Hopefully the girl would introduce herself also, that way she would have a name rather than just the girl. "Do you want to try the spell first?" because she didn't care who went first, but the girl should at least have the option.
Annabelle forgot to introduce herself too! How could she be so stupid. "Hi Addie! I am Annabelle Lecium, Fifth Year Hufflepuff, nice to meet you." she said with a nervous smile. "Um sure i can try the spell first." Annabelle said, she didn't mind getting it over with. "Alright so the spell movements are swish and flick. I know that." she said out loud. "Alright i can try, "Wingardium Leviosa!" she said but nothing happened. She didn't really expect much on the first try. "Hmm since mine didn't work out the first time, do you want to try now and see if you can do it?"

Zhenya? Elliot found herself wondering what kind of name that was...although, she had no room to talk. She had a boy's name, afterall.
She glanced at the balls, and nodded. "I believe so. But do we levitate that back and forth...like a game, almost?" she asked, trying to see what the other 'youngsters' were doing..."Like you make it go into my arms, and I yours? Let's do that...it seems...er, fun." Whoohoo, yay..fun. Not.
Elliot was not one for games. But she would try to enjoy this. Try being the key word.

It actually reminded her again of Professor Schirmer's lessons, namely the one when they'd explored Patronus charms, and had drank the potion to make themselves levitate. At least that time, there wasn't the concern about if another person would be able to keep them levitated, whether or not the squishy carpet and all the cushions were there for their safety now. She knew she was fairly confident in her ability to perform the charm, but that didn't mean everyone else was. She hadn't gotten a partner yet, after all, and she'd switched between watching the younger students with the balls and her fellow upperclassmen partnering up, almost as if she expected to see someone hit the ground any time now.
Her attention wavered as she heard a voice speak up from right next to her, blinking as she hadn't even seen him approach her in her earlier preoccupation. "Gideon, right?," she asked, giving him a smile as she remembered him from a lesson taught one of the previous two terms. She couldn't even remember which one, but at least they'd survived it. Not to mention he was apparently a prefect now, which made her feel a bit better about letting him try and levitate her. As if being prefect meant he'd be more accomplished at the basic charm than a normal student. "Did you want to go first, or should I?," she continued, still trying to seem more confident than she was. At least when it came to the activity, not the spell in general.
She had seemed distracted at first but Gideon watched as she finally reacted to his acceptance of their need for partners. His relief shown when it was a positive reaction seeing as he really didn't want to go back to looking for another option. Not that he had had to look all that long this time, especially in comparision to the struggle in herbology but still. "Aye thats me," he confirmed, this time he was confused seeing as he hadn't reconized her. "Do we kn...wait...Stella?" he inquired hesitantly, not sure about possibly making a mistake when she clearly remembered him.
"Whichever ye prefer," he answered leaving it up to her whether she was the levitator or the levitee for the first time around. Gideon was up for both for the time being and seeing as they probably both were gonna have to go anyway, it really wasn't gonna matter much. "Ye can work on me first if ye want."

Partners?
Penelope wasn't too sure about this, although at least she wouldn't have to try to levitate her partner if she got one. Her wand didn't always seem to want to cooperate with these classroom spells, so levitating anything - let alone a person - would be difficult. And she CERTAINLY didn't trust anyone else to levitate her. Needless to say, she was glad she was only a first year for once.
And then the boy she vaguely remembered from the feast and definitely remembered from Hogsmeade approached her and offered to be partners. Well, that was easier than she'd thought it'd be. "Sure, that's fine," she answered with a shrug before grabbing her wand. "So...we just levitate one of these balls back and forth?"

Zhenya nodded, that sounded like a good idea. She was only ONE year away from actually being able to levitate Elliot. That was unfair. She was thirteen! Surely she was old enough to levitate a body. Oh, well. Balls would be more fun... maybe.
She pointed her wand at the ball stack and said "Wingardium Leviosa," with a swish and flick as she had been practicing before, and a ball came and levitated over to her. She extended her hand and the ball fell into it. Perfect. Turning around and smiling at Elliot she said, "I bet this will be super challenging," with a note of sarcasm in her voice. Challenging? How about levitating a body! That would be a challenge. Hopefully this would be fun.
She held the ball out in front of her, pointed her wand at it again and said, "Wingardium Leviosa," with the swish and flick... again... and levitated the ball over to Elliot.

"Excellent. I appreciate your trust."
As Ellie agreed to go first, Max nodded in agreement and moved a few feet away from the nearby groups. "Is it okay if I sit?" He didn't wait for an answer - he just dropped his blue cushion on the floor, sat down, and crossed his legs pretzel-style. He wiggled in place, looked up at Ellie, and said, "Gimme your best shot!"
Despite his larger, well-built frame, Max wasn't worried at all. The idea of flying - well, floating - without a broom was extremely energizing.
Zhenya nodded, that sounded like a good idea. She was only ONE year away from actually being able to levitate Elliot. That was unfair. She was thirteen! Surely she was old enough to levitate a body. Oh, well. Balls would be more fun... maybe.

Elliot chuckled at the girl's obvious pleasure with their activity. Elliot stretched out one of her arms, and the ball fell gently into her palm. She rolled her eyes. "Okay, let me do this back to you..." she said with very little enthusiasm. Elliot would try to make hers go FAST.
She swiiiished and flicked! and said "Wingaaaardium Levioosa!" just like the professor had said. The ball lifted into the air. Elliot gave a little flick of her wand, and the ball flew right at Zhenya...
Oops. She hadn't meant it to go that fast...

"Alright, settle down class, we're starting. I'm sure you're all wondering why the change of decorations.." She looked at all the curious little faces, secretly inspecting them all."Today we'll be looking at the hovering charm. The incantation is Wingardium Leviosa." The appropriate stresses were observed."The wand movement for this particular charm is a fluid swish and flick." She demonstrated the movement using her finger not her wand."I'd like you all to do the movement for me without your wands before we move on to the class activity."
Sarassi had already taken off of her shoes whne the Professor started class. She had said good morning. Wingardium Leviosa, fun spell. She did swish and flick with her flinger for a couple times and then repeated the incantation, Wingardium Leviosa also a couple times

She gave them a minute to do what she instructed before moving on.
"Now everyone is going to partner up within your year groups. Younger students you and your partner are allowed one ball. You will be levitating this ball back and forth between each other. Now they are fairly light so it only takes a bit of concentration to get it right. It's almost like catch but using your wands. The first person levitates, the other catches and you switch, please be careful, no hitting each other with the balls....yet."
"You may begin if you have no questions to ask of me."
Sarassi looked around for a partner, so levitating balls, way easier than people. She asked Anyone want to partner with me? Forgetting older kids that side, younger kids other side she added Third Year?

Nerida smiled at the Professor, the carpet felt good underneath her feet. She began to swish and flick with her finger. She did this a couple times before she felt she had succeded. Then went onto the incantation, Wingardium Leviosa. Wingardium Leviosaa...Wingardium LeviosaThe incantation was easy after she said it a couple times, she just had to get used to it...

Nerida raised an eyebrow the older kids had to levitate themselves, thank goodness she was still an ickle third year. But next year *gulp* she would have to do that. Looking around for a partner she saw her sister. She walked over and asked Hey sis, want to be partners? She better not mind and she better not say no!

She swiiiished and flicked! and said "Wingaaaardium Levioosa!" just like the professor had said. The ball lifted into the air. Elliot gave a little flick of her wand, and the ball flew right at Zhenya...
Oops. She hadn't meant it to go that fast...
Zhenya just had enough time to look up and see the ball flying towards her face.
WHACK!
It made contact with her nose, and her eyes started to water. It wasn't that hard, the ball was soft, but her nose was so sensitive. "Oww!" she whispered, trying not to draw attention to them. Especially not from the Professor. She bent over and picked the ball back and tried to stop herself from throwing it back to Elliot without magic. She was going to assume it was an accident, and that Elliot may have just wanted to make the activity more fun. Obviously they both knew how to perform the spell!
She wanted to try something different, so preparing her wand at the right time, she threw the ball slightly into the air, and cast "Wingardium Leviosa," with a swish and flick when the ball was in mid-air. She guided it towards Elliot, and rather than let it fall, she guided it back up, up, up into the air where she finally let it drop down.

Blue needed a partner. And a first year partner. ...But she couldn't see any. NOOOOS. She sniffed and pulled out her wand before making the 'swish and flick' movement. If people REALLY wanted to be partners, they'd find her. She wasn't about to go shouting at the top of her voice. She didn't wanna ruin her nonexistent singing career.
