He held it up to his face and gave it a glare. All right, pal. You and I may not get along well, but that doesn't mean we can't behave nicely does it. He jabbed a finger at it pointing his finger threateningly up and down. So, if you don't want to come out of this bald, i suggest you let me do the spell properly...eh? Are we crystal clear? The Pygmy Puff stared back at him silently, then let out a tiny burp. No doubt the Puff enjoyed hi nose hairs. I'll just take that as a yes. Oakey spoke sternly to the ball of fluff and he placed it on his shoulder. He removed his wand from his robe and practiced the movements until he got the feel of it. No wobbly movements here, no Ma'am. Then he let his wand down and said the spell of few times Loony Plewvia Neeteo, Loony Plewvia Niteo, Loony Pluvia Niteo, Lunae Pluvia Niteo. Hmmmm, That last one sounded about right. He would go with that one. WAIT! Why did he even care about getting this spell right, it was pointless and had no purpose to help him as a wizard! |
Alright enough practice, now for the real deal... Bringing his other hand forward he gazed at his sleeping Pygmy Puff for a moment. Yeah not gonna wake this creature up juuust in case he does mess up and the puff would just sleep through the temporary baldness. So with an arched wandstroke he uttered "Lunae Pluvia Niteo", the tip of his wand touching the creature's furry body. There was a slight rustling of its fur, although he couldnt be sure if that was due to his spell, the night breeze or the pygmy puff just shuddering at the touch of his wand. But the creature still had its fur though, at least it didnt look like it was gonna go bald. At least not tonight. He waited his turn then neared the tree, tilting his hand gently to let the snoozing pygmy puff onto the branch. Backing up a few paces he stole a glance at the Professors then at the surrounding inky blackness of the Forbidden Forest. He really hope the rest of its inhabitants are as sleepy as his puff tonight. |
Mentions of Vickers, Oakey and Prof. HAWTface Elijah had sat alone, rather mesmerised by his pygmy puff. They were cute but in a horrifying way. He couldn't help but see them as a cross between a come-to-life cotton ball, and hair ball that someone's cat had choked up... He didn't really want to be touching someone's regurgitated cat hair... His thoughts on the pygmy puffs likeness were disturbed when a small commotion started not too far from himself. It appeared Oakey was... dancing? Not very well, either. Elijah tensed up slightly as the boy hopped about the place. That meant that one foot was in the air at all times and Elijah had been all too aware of Oakey's tendency to fling his boots about the place and Elijah's face had only recently gone back to full blown gorgeousness after their last encounter. But then he saw Vickers trying to help the assassin Hufflepuff. Ouch. His bestie, his pal, his bro, his potions amigo! He was betraying him for his arch enemy! (maybe slightly over-exagerrated). Hmph. Well. That was just fine. He turned his back on the pair and set his little fluff ball down on the grass. Just concentrate on your own work, Elijah. Don't worry about the assassin and the traitor. This is a spell you could really use! Helping make the unattractive slightly more attractive is something you've always wanted to do, no? He practiced his arch wand movement, but it started out as nothing short of crap. His attention was seriously waning as he occasionally looked over his shoulder at the other two boys. By the looks of things Oakey had now retrieved his pygmy puff from his trousers (which explained the awful dancing) and Vickers seemed more concentrated on his own work now. It made Elijah feel better, somewhat Trying slightly harder, he began with his wand motions again, practising his arch shape and mouthing the incantation, trying to get a feel for it on his tongue. "Lunae pluvia niteo," he cast, eventually, aiming his wand at his pygmy puff. By the looks of things the creature seemed to have survived the threatened baldness that the spell could cause, which was good. Picking the little guy up, he walked out of the shade and into a small area where the moonlight shone. Holding his pygmy puff up, he watched as it changed colours just as the charm had intended. Excellent, the first and last time I will probably ever get a spell right first time. Elijah's passion for this spell and the potential help he could see it doing for the entire world probably acted as a great motivator for him when casting it. Or perhaps his favourite, Professor Bellaire, was just such a good teacher. He took his little hair ball and placed it up on a tree branch amongst the other students'. Don't tell anyone this but Elijah was actually quite excited to see what was going to happen... in a CLASS... during a LESSON... where TEACHING was involved. He probably should go seek out Healer Tillstorm in regards to these unusual feelings. |
Jory repeated the incantation before he cast it. "Lunae Pluvia Niteo,Lunae Pluvia Niteo, Lunae Pluvia Niteo". Now he was ready for Furball. "Don't worry, little guy,'' he told his puff. "It'll be alright.'' Jory pointed his wand at Furball and said "Lunae Pluvia Niteo!" He felt a sort of disturbance in Furball's fur but he seemed okay. At least he still had fur. Jory then waited until it was his turn to place his puff on the branch. |
SPOILER!!: Scared Sophie Mordred caught Sophie’s alarmed look and smirked at her. “Don’t worry; I won’t set it on fire.” Although he was very much tempted to do so. What is it with girls and Pygmy Puffs? Those creatures were pretty useless. Unless of course Mordred got really mad and needed a ball to throw hard against the wall. Pygmy Puffs were known for not protesting to such act. Psh. Okay, if he can’t set it on fire, maybe he'll do that next... Social experiment…or whatever Muggles would like to call it. “Can’t I poke it instead?” he asked Sophie jokingly and eyed the Pygmy Puff that was now quivering. Was it scared? “Oh don’t be such a wimp.” He told the Pygmy Puff on his hand and did the incantation once more. A perfect arch wand movement was performed, “Lunae Pluvia Niteo!” and a tap on its head. Nothing happened still, but Mordred decided to put the creature on the branch. “Well be thankful you didn’t shed your hair.” He told the creature as it eyed him down from the branch. Mordred was sure that he saw the Pygmy Puff let out a sigh of relief. |
Right. Time to get serious, now, and cast some spells. Chelle cleared her throat. "What was the spell, again?" she muttered. She looked around for someone to prompt, and overheard a couple of students practice. "Of course, that's what it is." She took out her wand and practised the movement in the air first, moving her wand in a sort of a semi-circle, as if forming a rainbow. Then she pointed it at her Puff. "Lu-" she started, but then stopped. She was doing something wrong! Her puff was still wrapped in the napkin. She caught her wand between her teeth and hesitantly started unravelling the Pygmy Puff. She dropped the napkin and grabbed the Puff by its head. "Don't you go biting me again!" she said, glaring at it. Then she pointed her wand at the furball and said, "Lunae Pluvia Niteo!" She blinked. Wasn't something supposed to happen to it? She picked it up again and put it on the ground next to her. She had a feeling it wasn't going o run away. |
Text Cut: Exasperated Professor It seemed like people had forgotten that they were in the middle of the Forbidden Forest, or at least forgotten what class they were in. Forgotten which professor they were dealing with, at which point Stella just hoped that people weren't going to end up losing as many points as had happened last lesson. Either that, or she hoped they didn't all get attacked by some wild creature from the forest because the noise irritated it. She loosened her scarf enough to finally scoop Nuage out from undnerneath it, either way. At least then she had free range of movement with her neck, in case something did happen. Luckily, though, all that happened was Professor Bellaire speaking again, finally moving the lesson on, and she turned to look at the woman as a demonstration was made. We're supposed to put our pygmy puffs on the tree branches?, she wondered, curious how her pygmy puff would even like being on a tree branch. Hopefully none of the others wanted to mate, or the pretty rainbow tree decorations could end up going in a direction the professor likely wouldn't expect. First she had to actually cast the charm on Nuage, though, so she momentarily sat down in the clearing to do so. She didn't want to accidentally cast on her hand or anything, after all, especially if she made a mistake. "Practice first," she whispered to herself, setting her cloud-puff on the ground in front of herself as she took her wand out. "Lunae pluvia niteo," she said quietly, repeating it until she was sure she had the pronunciation down. Once that was done, she stopped saying the charm to practice the arch-like movement until that was perfect. She was determined to not end up with a bald pygmy puff, especially since it was hers and not borrowed. "Okay, Nuage. Stay still and I'll make you even prettier for a while," she finally said, reaching over to retrieve the puff as she'd rolled away slightly. Once she knew her puff had heard her, she let go and started the arch of her wand. "Lunae pluvia niteo!," she cast, finishing the incantation as the arch ended in a light tap to the top of Nuage's head. The puff looked upward in curiosity, but stayed as fluffy as ever. At least it doesn't seem like I cast the spell wrong, she thought, laying a hand flat so the puff could roll onto it and standing up. "I'm going to put you over here with all your friends for a little bit, but I won't go far away," she said, leaning down to whisper to her pet as she walked over to the tree. Setting Nuage down on a sturdy branch, she stepped away to wait for the rainbow. Since apparently they needed to wait until everyone had their puffs in the tree. |
"Lunae Pluvia Niteo...Lunae Pluvia Niteo...Lunae Pluvia Niteo" Gideon practiced speaking over the spell a few times to himself, the sixth year trying to get this mouth around the pronunciation. His wand was at his side and not being used as of yet but ready for when it was actually needed. When he was satisfied with his ability of the incantation, he raised his wand aim slowly not wanting to alarm his pet in any way. "Lunae Pluvia Niteo," he finally cast, moving his wand in a careful, arching motion before touching Doyle with his wand tip as he held the pygmy puff in his opposite hand. Hopefully all would be going well, certainly not wanting to harm the creature even if hair loss was the worst that could happen. With the spell done, Gideon wondered for a moment or two what to do next. But soon enough he remembered the inclusion of the tree into the equation and so, he followed some classmates over and set Doyle in amongst the others. The older boy careful to keep track of where he in fact was seeing as he didn't want to mix them up. |
SPOILER!!: Professor Erin watched Professor Bellaire show them how to do the spell with Professor Romanos holding the pygmy puff/rodents. She thought, she could get along well with the Charms Professor. Nod. Nod. Before doing the real deal, Erin practiced to say the incantation a few times so that she'll get the exact pronunciation of the word. "Lunae Pluvia Niteo. Lunae Pluvia Niteo." She also practiced the wand movement which was an acrhlike rainbow. And, it's time for her to try it on. Holding the orange pygmy puff on her left hand, "Lunae Pluvia Niteo" Erin uttered as she tried to make a perfect arch shape and tapped the tip of her wand to the creature. She followed her classmates towards the tree and put the pygmy puff on one of the branches. |
Her pygmy puff was ready! Sarah walked over to the tree and perched the pygmy puff on the branch. She then whipped out her note book and wrote down the spell. |

Lunae Pluvia Niteo. Lunae Pluvia Niteo. Lunae Pluvia Niteo. Lunae Pluvia Niteo. He repeated the spell over and over till he was sure that he's pronounced it right. When he was sure that he already mastered the pronunciation, he pull out his wand and hold out the pgymy puff in his other hand. "Lunae Pluvia Niteo!" he said the incantation while he did the arch motion above the creature. Blink. Blink. Blink. The creature still has it hair. So its a good sign, no? |
"Lunae... Pluvia... Niteo. Lunae... Pluvia... Niteo," Silvia repeated slowly, trying to memorize the incantation and its pronunciation. This was one of the longer incantations she had come across, so she made sure to spend extra time on it. When she was pretty sure she had the pronunciation right, she pulled out her wand and began to practice the wand movements; a sweeping arch and a tap. She did this a few times until she felt comfortable with it. Now to combine the two. Mustering up her concentration, Silvia waved her wand in an arching motion as she said "Lunae Pluvia Niteo," and gently tapped the pygmy puff in her hand. Well, nothing seemed to happen, so hopefully the spell had gone right. |

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh She had it now the Professor was scared of the little creatures, why though she had no idea, but see this was a good reason why to race them the Professor wouldn't have to give them exercise latter because Laura and her friends would have done it for her but oh well she could live with the Detention it was more the look her best friend Ella was giving her that was scaring her. |
Feeling totally prepared Oakey picked up the red pygmy puff and held it out in front of him. All right, now hold still. He lifted his wand out and held it just above the little ball of red fur. With the wand movements he cast Lunae Pluvia Niteo he tapped his wand down but it touched his hand. WHERE HAD THAT LITTLE MAGGOT GONE TO NOW! Oakey looked all around and found it sitting at on one of his mismatched boots. You little Dunderpyg! I told you to... MERLIN WAIT JUST A MOMENT, he just cast the spell on himself! Oakey turned his attention to his hair hoping it was all still there! Feeling around he was relieved to find the mop of mess atop his head was all still there. Does that mean he just cast the spell right, but on himself? Professor Bellaire, what happens if you cast on yourself...you know hypothetically speaking...? She didn't see him cast it on himself did she? |
Detention? It was not like she was on the receiving end of the punishment, but she could not believe that so much detention was being handed out this term. Professors had detention fever. The last time she had seen so much detention being handed out was during the days of Josh Carter. But this term, this term topped even Josh. But trying not to draw any attention to herself she took out her wand and made a rainbow shape and tapped on Owen the Pygmy puff. Muttering the spell she said, "Lunae Pluvia Niteo". She hoped it worked, Merlin she did. |
Guys I'm terribly sorry had to take an emergency break from SS but I'm back Quote:
Professor Bellaire was busy watching the students and the surrounding area for anything unexpected and...unwelcomed. She was sure that she had seen gleaming eyes in the bush somewhere and because of that she kept very close to Ramanos as she was growing increasingly nervous. Why were the students moving so slowly. Sharp eyes and constant vigilance. Another rustle in the bushes on the outskirts of the clearing. She eyed Medea then the bush nervously before moving very close to the professor and whispering,"Ramanos the bush over there is moving a little too much for my liking and..there are eyes..can you check that?" What? Sophia blinked at Oakey and frowned. He clearly had not followed the instructions she had given, the pygmy puffs were there for a reason after all. "Perform it incorrectly and you'll be shedding for days...correctly and you'll glow rainbow every time you step into the moonlight." And that would last for up to a week but she figured she'd let him think it was permanent. "Okay everyone, get your pygmy puffs to the tree and prepare for a spectacular show! Gather round now." |
Ella was observing Barny with a concerned look, making sure there were no bald patches anywhere on the little guy's fur. Luckily, he seemed completely unharmed, a good sign as far as Ella was concerned. The second year's attention turned to her older friend when she heard him asking about performing the charm on himself. Snort. Poor Oakey. Ella wondered if it was time to return his shamrock charm to him. Oh! But Profesor Bellaire said he might glow rainbow if he did it correctly! That would be lovely! She hoped for his sake he did the charm the right way. Hearing the next instructions, Ella headed over to the tree and placed Barnabus gently down on a branch. "Now don't go running off, you hear me?" She said with a stern finger wiggle in his direction before stepping back. She couldn't wait to see how the puffs looked all glowing and beautiful in the moonlight! |
*whistles innocently* Still holding the box of the extra pygmy puffs, Medea mostly kept her eyes open for anything dangerous that could intrude their lesson. A bird or bunny or two was fine. Or you know, little insects and stuff that didn't matter. She did watch a few students try the spell though. Up until Sophia had asked her to go check a bush because it had eyes. "Mhmmm." she hummed in response, looking towards the bush in question. Gripping her wand, Medea slowly made her way over to the bush, glancing to a student every now and then to see their handiwork. Really, there was nothing going on here. Just checking out a bush that had eyes apparently. Using her wand, she lifted a few leaves, peering into the bush. Wouldya look at that? It was a bird's nest. A goldfinch bird's nest. This...this gave her... Ideas. Mischievous...ideas. Standing up straight, still turned away from the class, Medea peaked over her shoulder to Sophia as her foot inched towards the bush...before rustling it around in the leaves. "Sophia! A giant spider! It's got me!" Oh the DRAMATICS! The bird chirped and tweeted angrily in the bushes, though her foot made most of the noise. |
NOT Phone post YAY! He'll what? Glow under the moon forever! No, it couldnt be true, there had to be a way to reverse it. This would have thrown Oakey off his game, but he would not let that get to him. Focusing on his pgymy puff Oakey lifted his wand once more to tap the devil puff and make it shine. Lunae Pluvia Nite-eeh before he could even finish his incantation, their DADA professor freaked out on them about a giant spider! To stay safe he backed away from her. Amidst the chaos that Romanos was causing Oakey heard a small whimpering noise. He looked down at his devil puff and saw that it's red fur began falling off of it! He moved the devil puff behind his back, no way was he going to reveal that his pygmy puff was bald and that he could glow under moon light! |
Alyssa had Nerfball already sitting on a branch and so waited to see the spectacular scene that Professor Bellaire had promised them. Then she heard her tell Professor Romanos that there was something lurking in the trees followed by Professor Romanos yell out that there as a spider in the tree. "A GIANT SPIDER?? AN ACROMANTULA??" Alyssa started freaking out. Nerfball was in danger!! |

Romanos and ZE SPIDER! ARGHHH! Well, Elijah had been going round to watch this show that Bellaire was so excited to show them, however, the DADA Professor seemed to be in a spot of trouble. Well, perhaps a 'spot of trouble' was an understatement since she appeared to be getting nomed on by a GIANT spider! Elijah, ever the perfect knight in shining gorgeous armour, removed his wand aiming it for the bush. Girls loved heroes and Elijah had to always be prepared to play the part. Unless the giant spider let go of Professor Romanos and decided to come after him, in which case he'd be joining all those pygmy puffs up a tree. "Don't worry Professor, i'll try and... sorta... maybe help you," he stammered unconvincingly. He cast a water charm in the general direction of the bush/spider/Professor - he wasn't really looking at exactly where he was aiming - in the hope that it would deter the spider back where it came from and hopefully not soak Romanos too much. His thoughts behind the matter were that spiders weren't too fond of water, and it was either that or fire and he didn't much feel like accidentally setting the DADA Professor alight. |
Romanos plus Elijah His head spun sharply on the DADA Professor's cry of alarm. SPIDERS?!?!?? Immediately he drew his wand and readied a wand stroke, a spell he's read about combating spiders started forming on his lips when-- ---SPLASH!! Elijah was there making like a fireman on the bush and Professor Romanos. Yeah, water can work too he supposed. |
