"Is it to perhaps make the light of the moon brighter so we can see where we are going and not get lost after the sun sets.", Oichi responded with her hand raised high. |
SPOILER!!: Oakey He gave the younger Puff a reassuring smile, far more than what he actually really felt "Yeah, it was an accident, its not like you did it on purpose." at least he hoped the Badger didnt do it on purpose, but he can see the nervousness on the boy as clearly as he can feel his own. He needed to be reassured, not berated for something so trivial. SPOILER!!: Bellaire As peaceful as the forest walk seemed, Vickers wasnt very at ease for many reasons, primary of which the Professor didnt explain what they were doing there in the first place. IF she said they were hunting, or observing, or collecting something, he'd be a taaaaad more confident since there was an objective and he can keep his mind focused on that. He saw the clearing up ahead and the class filed into it. He looked around, now there was absolutely nothing to protect them other than each other. He shifted on his feet when the Professor offered that the could sit. Looking at the ground he thought for a moment then decided to sit on his haunches. IF something happened at least he'd be quicker on his feet. He watched the Professor start the discussion and wrote those words in the air. He recognized the first and the last, but not the middle. A tentative hand goes up "Professor... does it have anything to do with moon shine?..." he was staring at the middle word, he wasnt quite sure what that meant... |
Nigel hoped with grass was not wet because he wanted to take a seat. He sat down on the grass and was glad it was dry. He had no idea what the spell the Professor was talking about but he would take a guess anyway. He raised his hand and said "Professor, it it to make things glow or make them shiny?" Nigel hoped he was not completely wrong. |
Sophie could feel most of the people - if not all of them - there were kind of frightened. Even professor Bellaire! That made the second year even more worried and every little different noise she heard startled her. Once they were already walking though the forest, Sophie was so freaked out that she grabbed the back of Mordred's cloak and kept walking behind him. She couldn't get lost! That'd be... Merlin! And then they finally reached a clearing. That felt a little better, but they were still in the forest, so it was scary anyway. after professor Bellaire's instructions, Sophie let go off Mordred's cloak and sat down next to him, turning her head in every direction. Gaaahhh!! What if a wild creature suddenly appeared?? That'd be terrible! They were all sitting down and didn't have their wands at the ready! Gosh... But now they were talking about a new spell! That was good! It would be better if they weren't there, but anyway. Sophie didn't have any idea about what that spell could do, so she just sat quietly, trying her best not to freak out at the little noises around them. |
Theodore could SENSE professor Bellaire's nerves, which made him nervous. DAMMIT, DID THESE TEACHERS EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING? :whaa: The boy started to shake as they ventured deeper into the woods. This wasn't fun anymore, NOPE. And now it was the learning time. As if he was really in the mindset for a fun-filled lesson now? Psssht. Lunae-Pluvia Niteo. Theo had NEVER heard of that before, so he guessed. "Does it turn on the sun? Cos I think we need a bit of sun down here." Serious.... poor forest looked like it never saw the light of day. |
SPOILER!!: quotes Selena tried to ignore the way the Ravenclaw kept EYING her pygmy puff on her head. Hmph. Why was the girl eying Kent? Did she not like the pygmy puff? That was just absurd! Selena continued to walk in a line, following everyone else. To avoid having her pygmy puff hit any particularly really low branches, the short Slytherin picked Kent off of her head and squished him, holding him close. Plus, maybe the Ravenclaw Prefect with the EVIL cat wouldn't eye her pygmy puff. Oh look... it got darker as they walked. Totally cool. At least the professor was shiny. Selena didn't think twice before sitting on the floor. She didn't like walking at night - made everyone so much more prone to tripping in the dark. She placed her pygmy puff back on her head and glanced to see if the Ravenclaw prefect was sitting either. Yes? No? Selena wasn't sure but she'd save the girl a seat anyways. The head girl then turned her attention to the professor... the very shiny professor. WAIT. If the DADA professor was in front of them... what if someone attacked them all from behind and they didn't notice?! :whaa: Y'know, Selena was starting to think this place wasn't all the safe but that didn't stop the Slytherin's arm from going straight up into the air and wear a big smile on her face. "I think it makes stuff shiny." Like the professor was. |
Text Cut: he pygmy puff head girl.... literally xD Louisa couldn't help but lift an eyebrow as the Head Girl took the pygmy puff from her head to hide it between her hands. FAAAAAAAIN. She wasn't going to stare at it anymore. Hmph. Not that it was stare-able light, despite the little lighting they got from the professor the forest had this dark sense about it, physically and spiritually speaking. At the clearing, the Prefect automatically sat down next to her on the grass. Her eyes went up to Kent once again when he was perched up on the Head Girl's head again. Good thing Viola wasn't around was all Louisa could think of. Moving on to more serious matters.... The Ravenclaw did not know the answer to that question. She just listened to everyone suggest pretty much the same thing and hugged her knees to her chest waiting for the right answer to be announced by the professor. |
SPOILER!!: Sophie and Professor Mordred pulled out his wand out of his sleeve as they got deeper into the forest. He has to be vigilant. This was after all the Forbidden Forest. The boy stopped on his tracks when he felt a tug on his cloak. He turned around and saw Sophie clutching the back of his cloak and smirked at her. “You’re not scared are you?” he asked as he waved his wand in front of her. He wished to tell her to bring out her wand and be on guard. Anything... can jump on her anytime. Mordred continued to walk until the class reached the clearing. He fixed his cloak as Sophie let go of it and sat on the ground. He wondered how far they were exactly from the castle. They may be sat on a clear patch of grass, but it still was part of the Forbidden Forest. This part was a rendezvous point for both humans, and creatures. “We are in the perfect spot to be attacked.” He mentally kicked himself for thinking that. He clearly wasn’t helping himself. -- Then finally Bellaire started the lesson. Luna what? He listened to his classmates’ answers since he doesn’t have the slightest idea of what that charm was. He, however can put two and two together. So there was the word Luna, which meant the Moon and Niteo meant beam. Mordred’s hand shot up in the air. “Professor, is that Charm used to harness the light of the Moon?” Of course, it was to be used when it’s dark, like when you’re outside. But what if the moon can’t be seen? |
Jory looked around the clearing. Everything was peaceful. For now at least... he hoped no beast or anything would come springing up on them. He thought about the question the Pofessor had asked and then raised his hand. "Does it have something to do with light, Professor?'' Jory wasn't sure. |
TREES. And fewer trees. Probably a clearing. Daisy looked at her fellow students, feeling slightly more comfortable at the fact she wasn't the only one who would have preferred to be inside, but she chose to hide that from people. Being not too fond of the dark wouldn't do any good, she was here for the lesson now, and couldn't just walk out. She had no clue what the charm that had just been mentioned was, but it sounded pretty cool. However, that still didn't give her a reason why they had to be outside to learn it, unless it was the kind of thing that was so big it was impossible inside. Shifting slightly closer to several people and away from the trees, Daisy folded her arms and tried to focus on the lesson. |
Spike looked around the clearing, with a grin. Yep, he was happy to be here, getting a chance to explore the forest. He was quite alright not sitting though. There might not be snow this deep into the forest, but he was sure the grounds would be cold, if not damp. Standing was fine. At the Professor's question, he tipped his head thoughtfully. Lunae related to the moon, and pluvia he knew related to rain. He didn't know what niteo meant, but other were coming up with 'shiny' suggestions, so maybe that was it. "Moonlight lit rain?" Spike answered, or rather, questioned. Ooo! "Or is it say a ball of water that shines like the moon? Kinda like, a crystal ball that glows, but actually a water ball?" But what anyone wanted one of those for, was anyone's guess. What a silly idea to make a torch out of water! |
Today was turning out to be Alright. He was in the Forbidden Forest. And the name said it all. He looked at Bellaire and listened to what she was saying. He looked around. The question wasn't to hard so he raised his hand. ''Professor, Does it have something to do with the moon and light.''He didn't want anyone else stealing his answers. |
Aspen didn't know what the Charm was for and wasn't the type for guessing out loud. She was busy doing math anyway. For example, two professors... to protect an entire class? It was a big class, too, lots of students in attendance today. This could mean a few things: the forest wasn't nearly as dangerous as the Professors said, there were already other safety precautions in place, or this class was doomed and survival of the fittest was going to be played out. It was sort of like Care of Magical Creatures - who'd get eaten first? Aspen hoped Paulie, though it seemed unlikely. Even a troll wouldn't eat him. So... she kind of figured the Professor was busy now and wondered a little closer to Paulie. It just made sense to be near the least delicious looking member of the class. |
Chelle shifted from one foot to another, making a face and standing uneasily at the patch of grass where the class had come. She wasn't very fond of the wilderness. This was about as deep into the Forest as she would ever get during her course of time at Hogwarts. Yes, she made up her mind about that. Sit down? HERE?! Are you serious? Scared out of her wits, Chelle took out a huge napkin from her cloak pocket and placed it on the grass. Then she sat down on the napkin, crossing her legs and taking as little space as possible. Loony-what?! Now Chelle was confused. She didn't quite understand the spell until Professor wrote it out in the air. Judging by the order of words, she could tell that it had something to do with the moon. But she was too apprehensive to raise her hand and actually answer, so she kept quiet and waited for the others to come up with the correct answer. |
Ok so Hannah was glad that the DADA professor was with them especially because the charms professor didn't seem all that sure of this little adventure after all. Which was really comforting. She made sure to be closer to the defense professor just in case. Hannah had no intention of sitting down. Who does that? On the grass? Just like that...no towel or anything? Hmph! She wasn't too sure of what the spell meant but considering where they were she decided to take a stab at the answer anyways. "Professor I think it has something to do with the moonlight." What exactly...she wasn't too sure of. |
Was he strange that he thought that the CoMC lessons these past two years had been scarier to him than going in to the forbidden forest? And no , he was not weird. As he followed the group deeper in to the forest, he kept wondering what would happen if he or someone else got lost. The Charms professor had said they would leave the person but that couldn't be true , right? the wand he had gotten on his eleventh birthday was in his hand, ready to use it with a spells he didn't even know but he figured something would pop up in his mind. As he walked to the end of the line , nearest to the DADA professor Sit down? ohkay~ The Slytherin dropped down on the grass , not even noticing that there lay no snow in this area. He had been too focused on his surroundings than the ground. But now that he was sitting he folded his legs indian style and listened to the Professor. "Does it have anything to do with the moon? Or a bright light, Professor?" he asked after he had raised his hand. |

"Ok..good attempt at answering the question..from some of you at least." Sophia tapped her dress once and walked towards the tree that had the moonlight shining down directly on it. She stood close to the trunk and waited. As soon as the moonlight hit her robe it started changing to different colours of the rainbow. She was very bright and definitely glowing. "This is what the charm does." She stepped away from the tree and her robe regain it's normal shimmery glow..no colour changing. "Now.." She approached the DADA professor." If Miss Ramanos would be so kind as to take one of those rodent things from the box so I can demonstrate what we'll be working on today." She looked in onn the pygmy puffs and made a face...yuck. "Everyone, take out your rodents. Not to worry this charm causes no pain. There will be hair loss if you get it terribly wrong though, but even that won't be permanent." "For those of you without the rodents, you may come and get one from the box." |

SPOILER!!: quotage See, it had been good to save the Ravenclaw a seat. She'd just have to give the girl a fruit nickname now. Hm... maybe a blueberry? That seemed right, she'd propose that idea to the prefect later. Meanwhile, Selena just beamed at the professor in reply to the somewhat right answer. A simple way to put it meant that she was right... right? See. And it totally made her look shiny. The professor proved it with her shiny dress. And wait what? Selena blinked blankly at the professor. Did... the professor call their pygmy puffs... rodents? She was sure that Kent was very much offended by this. She also had to refrain from saying something to the professor. "Pygmy puffs aren't rodents... they're adorable," Selena huffed under her breath as she pet the pygmy puff perching on her head. Mean professor... hmph. And wait what? HAIR LOSS?! :whaa: Her pygmy puff would not have hair if it was done wrong? Was it too late to leave? She didn't want her pygmy puff to be BALD. That was for old people! |
Text Cut: Professor "rodent" and Head Girl "adorable" Louisa blinked a couple of times at the professor when she gestured toward the box and said 'rodents'. First off, Louisa was NOT going to touch ANY rodents. Second... well there was no seconds since the Prefect's mind was stuck at first. However a few seconds later when the Head Girl hissed under her breath, Louisa got it. And she almost cackled. Riiiiiight. Pygmy puffs. Rodents. Heh. Very classy, Bellaire. Barely containing her giggles, the Ravenclaw got up and went to choose a 'rodent' from the box, without even looking at the squeaking and colorful ball of furs. When she plopped down next to Selena again the Prefect looked down at the little thing in her hand and it turned out to be... red. Blehh. |

As much as Nora knew how rude it looked, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Well, she at least tried to answer... and probably won't try the next time they'd have to guess something. Heh. Quote:
Geez. She couldn't say that the charm wasn't... impressive, but if it would hurt the PYGMY PUFFS, not rodents, Nora wasn't going to do it. But... she had to, unless she wanted to annoy professor Bellaire or even lose points. Hmmm. She'll just have to be really careful, but she was sort of confident. She could do it... right? Yes, she could. Since she didn't own any pygmy puff, the girl walked over to the box full of them and took one, her face instantly brightening. Could they keep them? Would it be rude to ask? It's not like the professor would miss them, going by the look on her face. At least Nora's would be LOVED. |
Annabelle listened to the professor's answer to question. Then she heard her pygmy puff's hair would be gone if the spell wasn't done right. "Don't worry Jenna, you will not lose your hairs i promise." she cooed at her yellow pigmy puff. She was bouncing off her shoulders and cuddling next to her neck. She would rather use her Pygmy Puff than use a rodent. She was not fond of rodents. She waited for another set of directions from the professor. |
Busy Lee has been busy! *grabs a 'rodent'* *snort* SPOILER!!: Pre-lesson stuff with Oakey, Professor HAWTface & Derrick. Brief mention of Aspen. The Hufflepuff's stare did not go unnoticed, but Elijah was in the presence of greatness and he didn't want to get on Professor Bellaire's bad books. He would just have to wait to get his own back on Oakey... Although, perhaps he could use his bond with Professor Bellaire do his advantage? Maybe he'd cast that nose spell on himself and blame Oakey there and then... She was likely to believe him over that little dragon snot, right? However, his thought process was interrupted when some HIGHLY unattractive Gryffindor sprout appeared out of nowhere and started addressing him in a manner that was unfit for someone so obviously better than him. Elijah took a step back, trying to put as much distance between him and the disgusting Gryffie as possible. He flashed the Professor one of his smiles as she returned his greeting and he waited for the lesson to commence. Apparently they were to be going into the forest and Elijah somewhat regretted putting on his best robes. Second best might have been better for a potentially mucky trip such as this... No matter. He followed in line, trying to be as close to his favourite Professor as much as possible. The immediate front had been reserved, however, for some trouble makers it seemed. One of which - the Ravenclaw girl - looked passably attractive... SPOILER!!: Great lessons from the HAWTface They reached the clearing that they were to be spending the lesson in and to say that Elijah felt uncomfortable in the space was an understatement. Why did they have to be this deep in the forest, again? Was it really necessary? At least Bellaire had called in the big guns and got the DADA Professor to attend, also. He put on his bravest, most gorgeous smile as always, doing his best to represent greatness in an, otherwise, not-so-great pool of students. Bellaire asked her questions and, as always, Elijah was left unable to answer because he didn't do education, remember? Only if it was LIFE saving and he could tell that this spell had something to do with the moon at least, and what could be life saving about the moon? However, Elijah found himself quite FOND of this spell and found it to be very much in the 'life saving' category when Professor Bellaire demonstrated it. A spell such as this could help those who weren't as gifted in the looks department, such as he or Bellaire, try to be somewhat aesthetically pleasing. He made his way up to the 'rodents' and selected one for himself. He took this opportunity to express to the Professor his thoughts on today's spell. "Professor Bellaire, I just wanted to say how amazing I think this spell is for... well, you know who I mean. Such a samaritan you are. Truly," he gave her his biggest, most gorgeous smile. She deserved it, afterall. |
Nigel could not believe he was right He was just taking a wild guess. But cool. Nigel liked shiny glowy things. But he did not know if he wanted to take care of a puff. Well since it was part of the lesson. He guessed he had to. He walks up and takes a random puff. He then walks back to where he was sitting and waits for the next set of directions. |
Elliot nodded, she had been very close...ish. At least closer than a lot of the others...*snickers* Hey eyes widened....SHINY COLORS as the professor's robe began to change colors. How pretty! But what did she mean that they were going to do that? They were going to make SHINY COLORS on...rodents? If it was a rat, Elliot was NOT touching it. No way! They were GROSSSS! But she saw another girl hold up a pygmy puff...OH. Elliot breathed in relief. It was just that puffy little animal that was kind of cute(she would never say this aloud). She went up to the box, picked one up, and carried it back to her spot. She held it in one of her hands. Was it supposed to move a lot? Because this was being very still. Maybe it was afraid. Elliot lifted up her hand so that she was face-to-face with the puffer. His eyes were definitely fearful. poor guy...too bad he was about to be EVEN MORE SCARED...Muahahah! Elliot smirked as she placed the puff on the ground, caging it with her hands from escaping. |
