An area in the middle of the library has been cleared of bookshelves and other equipment to make room for a big round circle of bean bags in all colours of the rainbow. One bean bag which is bigger than the others and bright orange is Mr Kitridge, the schools librarian sitting on with a small note book in his lap. For the afternoon meeting he is dressed in dark red robes.
In the middle of the circle of bean bags there is a stack of writing cards and a giant sized bowl full of candy. The candy has only been brought to the meeting because Mr Kitridge wants to give everyone a treat. Any food or drink found in the library at other hours/occasions will be thrown out and the student/s will be punished.
Go ahead and take a seat on a bean bag of your choosing and help yourself to a candy treat as you make yourself a name card while you wait for the meeting to start!
OCC: The meeting will begin in around 7 pm GMT tuesday night (May 8th). Don’t forget to bring your favourite childhood book! Keep chatting to a minimum! If you haven’t then please take time to familiarize yourself with the rules for the library.

"Hey Professor Bentley!" Ira called out. "Can we be partners?" Ira really hoped that she would say yes. It would be fun working with her mama lion, right?
But should she tell her that Ira was terrible at acting?
Even though she had come to engage in the whole book club experience, she wasn't really doing anything proactive in regard to finding a partner. On the contrary, she was just sitting there, on her beanbag enjoying the atmosphere and the chit chat that was going on around her.
But when she heard her name, she'd snapped out of her thoughts and turned her attention to Ira. "Oh yes absolutely, this ought to be fun," she replied smiling, awkwardly getting out of her beanbag to actually join Ira and form the partnership. "Whatever it is we'll be doing... let's take everyone down yeah?" she asked holding up her hand for a high-five.

Chewing on her bottom lip a little, Ira looked on and smiled as Professor Bentley came over and agreed to be partners. It wouldn't be too hard apiring and playing a game with a professor as your partner, right? Ira hoped not.
"Yeah!" she replied excitedly but hesitantly.. "I hope we can!"
And it really was time to tell Professor that Ira was as far as could be from all this acting stuff. But she sure could try. And reading stuff too. So actually, she wasn't even fit to be present for a book club meeting. Actually, her parents would not even believe that she had joined a book club!
Anyways, back o the present. She excitedly gave a highfive to Bentley.
But it sure was awkward, at least for Ira. A high five between a student and teacher? No.. Ira was just a slight bit uncomfortable. "Cause she almost had a fear of teachers, back from her muggle school days itself! But it was reducing in Hogwarts for sure!

Why do they read? That was really a dumb question, with all book lovers here and one could expect a better question than that. "Coz it's their-" she paused, searching for the right word, "-It's like their right to live. Once you start reading you don't have a reason to it" she said. "It's a healthy habit with nothing against it" The librarian talked about partnering. Oh no again. Not here too.
Sarah sulked for a few moments about this whole partnering up thing. Why do all these teachers ask for partnering? Can't we do anything alone? But then, everyone was going berserk about partnering. Oh, I'd better get one too then. She wanted to be in the book club. Book club meant finding a partner. Finding a partner meant she had to talk to someone new again. Great.

Talk about awkward.
Oh lookit that! She wasn't the only one. Sending the Ravenclaw a wink, Seren adjusted in her seat again, resulting in yet another sound this time more sqeaky.
But no more fun and games by the looks of it. Down to... book clubbing business?
Seren eyed ... LEObald? was it? as he ATE in the library... wasn't that like against the rules? sort of a library sin? Perhaps he ought to reconsider this behaviour to set a good example.. unless he was alright with food in the library, in which case, cool.
Why did they read books? "There are plenty of reasons why we read books, it's silly to place emphasis on a single reason, some read for pleasure, or curiosity, others for knowledge and it does not mean can't read for all of these reasons in the same sitting. Reading is about engaging."... Seriously... silly question, wasn't it? Or was it just her?
Oh and would you look at that. MORE staring, not that she minded... though... there was something unpleasant about Willy's face. He looked like he had a bucket load of dung under his nose-- not literally of course -- but that expression suggested to her that he perhaps forgot to shower and was only just realising his own stench. Talk about awkward.
But errr.... group work?
Couldn't they just sit and make noises with the beanbags some more?
Sarah heard the librarian say about having teachers in the group too. When she heard that she could only think of having one teacher in her group. Bentley. The lioness, who better than that?
"Hey professor" she called out to her head of the house. She moved towards the lady. "Hello mam-" she paused, "-Would you wish to pair up with me?" she asked straight away."Promise I won't mess up with you" she said, smiling.

Neither one of them needed this tension right now...or heart break that came with them being so close to each other.
Her eyes were back on the librarian when he asked a question. Why did she read? To escape from reality. That was about it. Although she didn't know who she was supposed to say this to since everyone was moving around. Would have been nice to have been in their groups first and then discussed while they read...oh well.
Kurumi didn't really move, unsure as to what groups already had people in them and who was still available. Instead, she just remained in her beanbag chair holding her book.
Sarah saw Kurumi sitting alone. Hmm, this is no good. She decided to speak to her. Sarah got up from her seat, clutching her bag she moved towards Kurumi. Sarah popped on the chair beside her. "Hello there" she said. She glanced at Kurumi's book and well, didn't understand anything on it. "Nice book.." she said, vaguely. She'd heard her talking about the book. She got the things, that is, except the few names she mentioned in them. "Do you need a partner?" she offered.

"Well I like to read for the fun of it, basically." Yep, slight bit of a bookworm here. Even if she didn't quite feel comfortable letting everyone know about it. Hazards of being an athlete, at least where she came from.
Emmanuelle stood back from the crowd a little bit, watching as groups formed. She wasn't so keen on the whole acting thing, mainly because she was a terrible actress. But as the number of unpaired people got smaller she decided she had better speak up. "I could use a partner!"

Whoops. Oh well.
Yep...she was just going to go back to the dorms and recompose herself. She wasn't going to be able to keep up this front with him being here as well - and she had to admit that she was a but jealous how he seemed to just be able to
pretend like she didn't exist. She couldn't do that. Not even close.
But then someone was poking her shoulder and Kurumi jumped with surprise. "Oh, Professor Elwood," Kurumi said, a faint smile playing on her lips. No peacock feathers today? Kurumi's eyes widened with confusion for a moment at the mention of....Dash? Who was Dash? Kurumi's eyes darted around the room until the Divination professor explained just who Dash was. Kurumi's eyes widened for another reason now, and that reason was Professor Scabior. While she really didn't think that working with the History of Magic professor was going to help her mood, working with him WOULD keep her mind and eyes off other things. So maybe this wasn't such a bad idea?
Maybe? Please?
"S-S-Sure, professor," she said with a polite bow.
Wouldn't you know it, the moment Kurumi had accepted the offer someone who wasn't Professor Scary Face asked her if she wanted to pair up. "Oh, um, sorry Sarah. I just accepted Professor Elwood's invitation." Maybe they could be partners for something else? A lesson perhaps.
So, with slightly heavy feet, Kurumi made her way over to the two professors, but did not take a seat just yet. She would wait to be told she could, as usual.

The can't-spell-his-name professor had asked Kurumi and she knew Kurumi wouldn't have a choice. Sarah rolled her eyes and smiled. "That's ok" she told her. She made a little move from there. Don't wanna be surrounded by all professors. It gave her creeps. She gave Kurumi I-don't-understand-how-you-manage-them look and waved a bye. "See ya later" she called as she moved towards Seren Bentley.

Sarah's face brightened when Bentley accepted her offer. "Thanks prof" she said. Too good. She was happy to see the professor get excited about this pairing up thing. But when she mentioned about Kurumi, Sarah pondered. She'd saw the, what was his name again? some professor ask her to their group. She'd go there naturally. "It's ok-" she paused "-She's got a new team" she told Bentley, a bit grimly.

Ira simply nodded. Yup! It sure would be exciting! And Professor's excitement seemed to be rubbing of on her too.
Grinning wide, Ira replied, "Fun in library is always welcome!" Ira said, smirking mentally. Because whenever the word 'library' popped in her head, it always meant book s and more books and more studies! So, in short all the boring stuff!

Ira smiled at the girl, who did seem older than her, but wasn't sure. She did recall seeing her in some classes, but didn't remember really.
Sarah? "Thats a nice name!" Ira replied and introduced herself, "I'm Ira! Third year.." giving her hand for the handshake.

Sarah liked the girl right then. It was like repeating Ella all over again minus the accident. Sarah grinned. And the girl liked her little joke and joined in it. Now who said girls had a problem in mingling? "Great then-" she paused, "-We could rock the stage" she was sure of it. Sarah motioned to a chair. How long were they supposed to stand. "Do you have any experience with acting?" she asked.

Vickers stayed quiet all this time, perhaps far more fascinated with the new titles and stories he's been hearing rather than sharing what he brought with him. It was just Tales of the Beedle Bard-- a book he figured every Wizarding child had anyway.
But now it was activity time and something about what the Librarian said got his stomach to flip-flop a bit. Reenactment? This is sooo not gonna go down too well with his stage-fright.
He stood up and approached the group already formed "Hello Professor Cerulean, Alyssa,..." and he nodded and smiled politely to the other Hufflepuff whose name he didnt know "...mind if I join you?"

"If he doesn't I'll be more than willing to step out of the group and partner up with you. Maybe we can find another student to make it a threesome? Is that okay with everyone?" she asked the other members in her book club group. "Let's first see what Mr. Kitridge says."
Then she realized that Ira had left their group. "Oh wait we now have 4 mbers. If the Librarian is okay with having four in our group then we can all stay together." Problem solved.

Somehow the word 'mingle' reminded Ira of the frequently used phrase, 'single and ready to mingle'! Hehe.. Lightly smacking her forehead, she smirked and shook her head.
"Well.. girls are meant to mingle, right?" Ira half asked, half declared. "Atleast that is what is accepted generally.." Though she herself didn't really adhere to it. Nope, she was rather shy.. until this year. Nowadays she was eager to meet new people and make new friends.
Uh-huh.. They could rock the stage.. maybe. And there came the dreaded question that Ira didn't really wanna answer. What could she answer? That she couldn't act? Especially not in front of others? That she had a wee bit of stage fright? Ira searched for words to explain herself. What to answer exactly?
Following the older girl, she went to sit over to the chairs. But wait.. those bean bags looked cosier. "You mind of I sit on those bean bags Sarah?" Ira asked sweetly.
Replying to Sarah's question, Ira said, "Er.. no" Meaning she hadn't had any acting experience. "Actually I don't like acting so much.. What about you? You like it?"

Praying, he cleared his throat to address the assembled book clubbers "A great book treasure is present here this afternoon in your hands with themes ranging from fantasy with wild worlds and magical creatures to adventure with deserted islands and heroines to name a few."
"So why do we read books and continue to read books as we get older?” He glanced briefly at the professors present in the room. “Is it for fun, enjoyment, knowledge or something entirely different, please share your views with us all.”
Downing some soar water that had surfaced in his throat Mr Kitridge continued. "When you’ve shared your views with the circle I want you all to find yourself a partner or two for the next sentiment of the meeting which will involve acting, please invite the professors to join your groups." The professors were there so they should be active too.
"I shall tell you all what you will re-enact when the groups have been formed."
Sierra looked at the librarian with a thoughtful expression. He seemed way more into books than she was. She was just here for something else to do other than classes and Quidditch. It just seemed like a good idea for some reason or another. Looking across the room, she noted that Kennedy Escalante was here, too. Oh, yeah. It was a really good idea to come here today.
Turning back to the librarian, she raised her hand. "I mainly read for knowledge, but reading is also for enjoyment and getting homework assignments done, too," she said. "Oh, and furthering your own advancement in the world." That was important, too, and as a child, that was one of the main reasons she was so interested in the book she'd brought today. It helped prepare her for years of Quidditch to come.
Oh, they needed a partner? Or a group? Argh. It looked like everyone around her had already found someone. "Does anybody need a partner or group member?" she asked.

Oh, they needed a partner? Or a group? Argh. It looked like everyone around her had already found someone. "Does anybody need a partner or group member?" she asked.
And so they needed a partner? Jonathan starred blankly at first when people just stood up and suddenly find themselves with a partner or a group. Jonathan didn't expect for this to happen actually. He just thought they would just sit down, talk about these books. But this?! Jonathan just looked surprised and at awe with everything.
But he still needed to fins a partner right?
She suddenly heard the Slytherin princess prefect shouting and wanting a partner as well, Jonathan raised his hand. He hasn't worked with Sierra in anything nor has partnered up with her with anything... so this will be a start. He stood up from his seat and walked towards her "I need a partner too... or a group." he said smiling to her. He doesn't really know how to act around Sierra, he's just hoping he'll be comfortable with it and the same with her to him as well.
Ella looked over at the girl who was speaking to her and studied her, curious about the smirk. "Hi Elliot, I'm Ella and sure, we can partner." As for the fact that Elliot could be quite the actress, Ella didn't mind. "Well then, we'll have no problem putting on an awesome performance." GRIN.
As for the other girl who was looking for a partner, Ella followed Elliot's lead and waver her over. "Yeah, the more the merrier." She said sincerely, giving the girl a small smile.
Elliot held out her hand and tilted her head to the side curiously, still smirking. The other girl, Ella she had said, was a Hufflepuff. Of course...Elliot had never consorted with them. Her father had always they were a bunch of dodder-heads. But this one seemed intelligent, so Elliot decided to give her a chance. "Our performance will be awesome...because nothing I do is ever anything less than...awesome..." she told her triumphantly. Heehee.

Oh. She needed a group? The bang to her head that she had taken in divination was clearly still affect her because she had kind of blanked out for a few moments there. And now she needed a group. Hmmmmm. The ravenclaw stood up, looking around. Who could she partner with. Well group with. This could be awkward, people already seemed to be in groups. Not good. Not good. Indiana go find a group.
Ooh. There was the slytherin prefect. The one that had been really nice and taken her to the hospital wing. Hmm. Maybe she could pair with her. Indy moved over to her, noticing that there was another slytherin with her. Well. Here was a group. "Can I group up with you two?" They couldn't say no. Because that wasn't very nice. But then they were slytherins....
waiiit.
she was grouping with slytherins again? Oh. Indiana can you clearly not remember that last time you paired with slytherins you nearly ended up dead.
oh dear.

Elise beamed and raised her hand. This guy really really really liked books. YAY! "I mainly read to get away from reality," she said. "And sometimes to finish homework and assignments."
Now, to find a partner.
"Does anyone still need a partner or another group member?" she called. Hopefully loud enough to be noticed. Because she needed a partner. Or a group. Something.
Listening to everyone's answers, Cass thought about her own. Why did she read books? To be honest, she couldn't even remember when she started reading. Her room was filled with books, shelves and shelves of well-loved books, both new and old.
"Well, sometimes, it's just to add to what I already know." She explained thoughtfully "But often, it's because books have this thing where they can bring you to other enchanted places, lets you live someone else's life for a change and gives you new insights."

Pft, sure everyone would just come to him.
"Hey, do you want to be partners?" She asked with a hopeful smile. Oh please don't say no just because she was a Slytherin.

Minerva felt bad the Ira was leaving. She hoped she didn't offend her or anything. "Ira you don't have to leave we could figure it out." but she seemed ok and got another group so Min looked back now at her group of three. "Well I guess it's just us three." she smiled at Professor Cerulean and Alyssa. Then she heard someone else come up. She turned and saw a boy. "Hey, as long as the professor is okay with it I'm find with four in the group." It had to be because of Professor Cerulean that people kept asking to be in their group, because Min never had many people ask her, just her usual friends. She smiled at this happy to meet and work with new people.

Hydra raised her hand then answered 'We normally read books to clear our minds and escape to another world... to forget about the troubles we went thought in the day... And sometimes we just need some peace . Well this is how I feel.'
Hydra looked around the room to see that everyone already had a partner but her and this one girl who was shouting from the top of her voice that she could probably hear all the way down to the forbidden forest! Hydra waked up to the girl and said- 'Hello. I hear that you need a partner. Want to work together?'

So they need one more person if they want this group to be formed. ONE MORE. Jonathan scouted around, maybe he can find some lats minute students with no partners right? But looking at it now, it's quite hard. Everywhere you, someone has a partner already or had joined a group already. If they can't find one more person, then Jonathan has to be partnered alone with Sierra. Team Slytherin?
Jonathan put his book on one table and then heard someone asking to join them. He smiled to turn around. He nodded, of course he should. She should definitely join them both, right? "Sure." he said nodding once more to the girl. The girl just looked familiar but Jonathan's sure they're not acquainted to one another though "I'm Jonathan, by the way" he said grinning, gesturing for a hand shake.
So since the group was already formed, they should stick to it, Jonathan turned to Sierra. She also has a say in this. Jonathan didn't want to intrude any of her decisions at all.

"Our performance will be awesome...because nothing I do is ever anything less than...awesome..." she told her triumphantly. Heehee.
"Nerida? How interesting...my name is Elliot..and this is Ella," she gestured to the puffer. "And I have never acted in a play or anything...but I act all the the time at home...you have to know how to work my parents. And trust me, I know how to get what I want..." she chuckled maniacally, and raised her eyebrows. The blonde held out her hand for the other girl to shake. Proper introductions were needed pretty much whenever you met new people, right?
Elliot eyed Ella. She seemed nice. The girl had never really acted, though...but neither had Elliot! "Hopefully. We'll be fine. We seem the most...intelligent and mature group of the lot," and she glanced around at all of the first years, and some of the...teachers.
Oh no. A group name..."Ravenpuffs?" she asked, lifting a critical eyebrow in what clearly said what the Merlin? She wanted to just name them something like team Elliot but...she thought the other two might not like it very much. Hmph. "I suppose that will suffice for the purpose of having a team name...for now." she let it go. She wasn't very good at coming up with creative names, anyways. Elliot wasn't very...creative.
So none of them were professional actors, this wasn't exactly a shock to Ella. It was becoming more and more apparent that Elliot knew how to act, though. Especially when she confessed she knew how to play her parents. Ella supposed she had watched enough plays at home to offer something to their group as well. "My gram is part of an acting group in London. They mostly do Shakespeare but I have learned a thing or two from them." Like when pretending to be angry, try pointing aggressively at the object of your anger. As for them being the most intelligent and mature group of the lot, Ella wasn't so sure about this. Not wanting to kill team moral, she nodded her head in agreement anyway and gave the other girls a small smile. "Yup, we're going to make quite the impression I'm sure."
Ella actually quite liked the team name. It seemed perfectly appropriate for a group of Ravenclaws and a Hufflepuff. The second year raised her eyebrows at Elliot when she said the name would do for now. The for now bit seemed strange but Ella let that go. "Nerida, I think it's a great name. Team Ravenpuff it is." Looking around, she noted that the other groups seemed to be chatting, perhaps getting to know each other before they had to act out whatever it was they would be responsible for. "So um, how old are you guys?" They looked to be around the same age as Ella but she wasn't too sure about that.
