Zhenya made her way out to the Owlery to visit Rosie. She had a huge envelope in her hands with three long letters inside for her brother, her mother and her father. Well, it was really five letters, as she had unborn twin siblings on the way too.

She heard noises but kept going. If they wanted to fight in a public place then she could ignore it. he went inside and looked up to see if she could spot Rosie. There she was! She held out her arm and Rosie flew off the ledges and landed on her hand. She was rubbing her little feathery head in Zhenya's neck which made her giggle.

Then she looked up to see a girl she had never met and Laura... Laura! Her eyes widened and she turned her back on them. She didn't want to interfere...

Making her way up to the Owlerly with several letters in her hands. She flipped through them, checking to make sure that the addresses were all written properly. There was one to her father specifically with a small package that she wanted him to make sure her mother received. Another to Carter checking in. A rather long one to Lexi and Salander. And, finally, the longest of them all for Jonathan.

Knowing that Jonathan's family owl would be in here, she began to search for him - all lettered in her pocket - when she heard arguing. Following the noise, Kurumi walked forwards until she saw two first years, a Hufflepuff and a Ravenclaw, and she stopped. She wasn't really in the mood to deal with any of this, but seeing as the owls were beginning to get upset, she knew she had to do something. "Laura, Lana? You guys alright?"

Laura looked at Zhenya and smiled at least here was someone who cared about her, not like her sister who just spend all the time in the Library and then just upset her when they met. "Hi Zhenya." Laura looked at Lana. "Meet my sister Lana."

Laura was going to say something else, when Prefect Kurumi came up and started, talking. "Hello Madame Kurumi." Laura smiled, that was a good name for Kurumi. "No everything is not alright, my sister is a Ravenclaw and she thinks us Hufflepuff students aren't worth knowing." Laura snapped at Kurumi, seriously couldn't she see that everything wasn't alright without asking.

Zhenya smiled as Laura looked at her. She was a bit curious as to why she was a bit upset though. Then she introduced her to her twin, finally! "Hi Lana, I'm Zhenya," she said with a smile. Did she sound like she wanted to know her, though?

Then she saw Kurumi come in, and waved at her. But she was upset that Laura and her sister were fighting. She hoped when her twin siblings were born they wouldn't fight...

Laura suddenly turn back to her sister when she spoke. "Mummy said we had to look after each other when we left, but instead of staying together we have drifted apart." Laura sighed, she had heard Ravenclaws and Hufflepuff fight but she hadn't expected it to be them two that was fighting.

Laura snapped at her sister when she spoke again. "Oh yeah, I know but you didn't think I'd like to spend time with my sister did you, a friend is a friend but a sister is more important." Laura screamed, seriously she would defend her sister to the hills and back but Lana was thinking she didn't care about her.

Lana did hate it when she and Laura fought, but she had been very sensitive as of late and her own insecurities had gotten the best of her. She was lashing out and it really wasn't her fault or Laura's. "Sure sounded like teasing to me," she frowned. Yes, they had always teased each other before; but this time it felt different.

Hermes continued to keep his distance, but hooted his support. Lana knew he sensed how upset she was and at least she thought he cared. That made her smile a little on the inside.

Crossing her arms over her chest again, she lifted her chin. "I know what mummy said." Both of their parents had told them to stick together, but how were they to know that they would be separated into two different houses. Two houses that usually didn't get along. Fate was just have a laugh on their account for sure.

"Well, you have a funny way of showing you want to spend time with me." It wasn't like her twin didn't know where to find her if she really wanted to see her. She just figured that with Laura mass of new friends, there wasn't room for her any more.

Laura snapping back that things were not alright and then saying that her own sister thought Hufflepuffs were not worth knowing...it was all a little odd. Then again, Laura herself was a little odd. "I am sure she doesn't really mean that..."

But then the sister spoke up. See, Kurumi knew that that wasn't the case. "I don't like sticking my nose in other people's business when it has nothing to do with me," she said, sort of to confirm with the Ravenclaw that she wasn't trying to be all OMG I AM A PREFECT SO YOU MUST TELL ME EVERYTHING NOW sort of attitude. Merlin knew that she didn't share all her problems with prefects before becoming one herself. "But if you two want, I can try to be of some help. Sometimes an outside source can help clear things up." Since the two of them were clearly heated and too close to the issue to see what was going on.

Laura looked at her sister and sighed. "I wasn't teasing, I was just telling you that I think it would be hard to do." Laura seriously did think that, it was stating a fact not teasing, she turned away from her sister for a few seconds to try and figure out what was going on, she was really upset now.

Laura looked at Lana and then her best friend Zhenya, seriously why had Zhenya come here when Lana was making fun of Laura and her friends. "I can't just stroll into the Ravenclaw Common Room and say, hi Lana I've come to speak to you." Laura snapped, she'd be put in detention for sure if she did that.

Laura snapped at Lana. "Well it seems like that what you think to me anyway." Laura was so close to leaving, she turn and stamped her foot and was about to leave when she suddenly stopped.

Laura couldn't believe it, here she was spending time with her sister but instead of having fun like they used to do they were now fighting, she hated it, but it wasn't her fault Lana was worried about something. "Lana whats wrong?" Laura was sure there was something bothering Lana. "I'm sorry if you think I'm being mean." Laura looked straight at her sister, if Lana wanted her to go she would, if not she'd stay. "Do you want me to go?" Laura didn't want to fight anymore, she was sure if they continued they'd get into trouble.

Laura looked at Madame Kurumi. "Well if you don't like poking your nose in other peoples business how about we just ignore you Madame Kurumi and you ignore us and we can all get on well together." Laura said sarcastically, seriously though Madame Kurumi didn't need to know what was going on right.

Lana smiled timidly and nodded. She didn't think Kurumi was sticking her nose in their business at all and actually was happy to know that it wasn't just the two of there. "We are just blowing off some stream, but thank you for the offer." An outside view would have been very welcomed, but for some reason, she didn't think her sister would agree with her on this one.

Still a bit upset, she shrugged. "I think it was teasing still. No, you said it was impossible to do and I told you it wasn't impossible." Yes, it was unlikely that it could be done, but that wasn't going to stop her.

Looking to the other girl, whom she could only guess was her twin's friend, she frowned. "You could have asked someone to get me or you could have come down to the library to find me. I'm not ALWAYS in my common room." There were a few other places that she could be found if her sister wanted to see her.

She was nearly to the point where she wanted to stomp her feet at how her sister was acting at the moment. "You are putting words in my mouth and you know better than to think that I think that way about you." She was upset but never would she think like that about her twin. Hearing what her twin was saying to Kurumi, she scowled again. "Laura! You don't need to be rude about it." she replied as she shook her head. Kurumi was just trying to help and didn't deserve to be treated as so.

Crossing her arms again, she frowned again. "You know what? I really don't even want to talk about this any more." Seriously, at the rate they were at nothing was going to be solved any time soon.

Laura looked at her sister and sighed. "I'm sorry if you thought I was teasing you sis, I really am." Seriously how many more times did she have to appologise for that, she really was sorry about it and she really wished she could make up with her sister.

Laura looked at Lana and sighed. "I looked all over but I couldn't find you and I was worried you were mad with me and I was scared you'd want to dissown me after what happened." Laura sighed, it was out she hadn't wanted to tell her sister that, she knew she had made a few mistakes and she knew he sister would be mad at her for losing house points.

Laura looked away from her sister with tears in her eyes, she quickly wiped them away before turning back to her sister. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that." Laura sighed, "It's just Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs sometime fight and I was worried."

She turned away from her sister and looked at Kurumi, she knew her sister was right, she shouldn't have spoken like that. "I'm sorry Madame Kurumi." Laura gave her a weak smile. "Can you forgive me."

She turned back to her sister and stared at her, seriously her sister wanted her to leave. "I'm I getting this straight? you want me to leave you alone." Laura was sad now, but if he sister want her to stay out of her was Laura would do it for Lana, though she'd have to send an owl to mummy on her own later on.

Hailey walked around the Owlery in circles. She didn't even care that she was stepping in owl droppings--she was that distracted. The poor girl kept wringing her hands together as if the devil was after her. At one point, she even stopped in front of one of the huge window-like openings and just stared at the tops of the trees.

He would never lie to me. He wouldn't.

But that would mean she would be calling Hunter a liar. Or misinformed.

She continued walking in circles as she waited.

With a letter in hand, the nerd bird skipped every two steps as he climbed his way to the Owlery. Since Hailey asked him to meet her there, he thought it was only convenient to send a letter back home. Well, not really a letter, but a birthday wish list. The soon to be 16-year-old had some presents in mind. But he never got his hopes up too high. Upon finally reaching the doorway, Mikey stepped in. He saw the vampire standing there, looking scared and nervous. Which obviously wasn't a good sign.

"Owls make you nervous, vampire?" he asked, calling down an owl and tying the letter to its leg.

When Mikey stepped through the door, Hailey had her back to him. Which meant she didn't see him come in. So naturally, she jumped about fifty feet in the air when he spoke. Even though she was expecting him.

She whirled around and her hands immediately went to her hair. Why, she had NO clue. It certainly didn't have to do with making her hair look nice.

"No...I like owls," She said in a jittery voice. A few minutes passed in silence as she watched Mikey tie the letter to the owl's leg. Once he was done, she looked at him and--and--

She didn't know how to say it. How do you ask your best friend if he's been lying to you about your friendship? Or how he's supposedly in love with you? What if she was completely wrong and Mikey made fun of her for the rest of her life?

Well, now was not the time to think of those things.

"Huntertoldmethatyou'reinlovewithmeandthatyoulieda boutlikingViolet," She blurted really fast.

As the owl went on its way, Mikey turned to Hailey and arched an eyebrow. With Hailey's babbling, he managed to catch Hunter, in love, lied and Violet. Mikey just let out a small snort and nodded. "So he actually went through with it. Stupid slugs," he said, walking over the the window, keeping his eye on the owl. "But honestly, love is a bit too serious. I would just say I have a crush on you, but I'm not in love with you," he explained, leaning on the small ledge behind him. Boy did the slug like to make things more complicated than they had to be. But then again, he seemed like the type to thrive on drama.

"Oh and about Violet, it was obviously a cover up so you wouldn't find out,"

She kept her eyes on him at all times and saw the nod. He went through with it? So he knew Hunter was going to tell her?! UGH. Great to know she was in the loop about things.
Hailey cringed as he explained about the crush part. Well. At least it was better than being in love.

She joined him on the ledge and crossed her arms. "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked though she already knew the answer.

Again, that would be an obvious answer. But not for Hailey. "Because it's not everyday that one best friend likes another best friend. Besides, some friendships go bad when things like this happen. I didn't want that to happen, especially if you didn't or don't feel the same way," he answered. "And it seems like your cousin can't really keep his mouth shut for once,"

Hailey didn't speak for a few seconds as she recollected her thoughts. So Hunter was right.

"Well, I'm glad he told me because you were obviously never going to," She said at last. But there was more to say.

"And you can't call me your best friend and then not tell me something as important as that, even it sounds--counter productive or whatever."

"Well, did you have a good reason for me to tell you? I was trying to avoid this entire situation right here. Besides, I think I should keep some personal things to myself instead of telling you every detail," Mikey shrugged. Now he felt like he was talking to Hunter again. Which didn't go too well last time. Did Hailey and him really have to be related? Couldn't they sign some papers or do blood transfers to not be related anymore? If only.

"So then I'm not your best friend anymore?" Mikey asked, looking at the vampire from the corner of his eye; with a smirk.

Hailey sighed. "I know you were trying to avoid this situation but is it really so bad? And I'm not saying you should tell me everything," She snapped suddenly. "Only things that concern me." It was annoying that Mikey was making this so difficult.

"Were you going to keep it a secret forever?" She really wanted to know.

And then, of course, he had to ask that underlying question. She could see him peeking at her; he didn't look scared of her answer. Maybe because he was confident of what he would hear.
Clearly, he knew her well.

"I never said that, did I?" She said, unfolding her arms.

"No, I guess not," Mikey chuckled. "But still, I just wanted to keep this a secret long enough until I would explode. Which could be years," he laughed again. Yeah, the nerd bird was too casual in this situation. Like he had told Hailey before; it takes a lot to embarrass this nerd.

"Sounded like it," he answered.

Hailey shook her head and tried to focus on an owl that was returning for a nap. It was flying crookedly yet determined.
"I don't want you to explode." She decided his laughter only covered up the tension of the situation. It was odd to laugh during a conversation like this, anyway.

Sounded like it? What, did he want her to say that they weren't best friends anymore or something? Hailey didn't turn to face him.

"What do you want me to do?" She asked him now. "The secret's out, obviously." Things couldn't go back to the way they were...could they? Or maybe...things could change.

"You can do anything you want. It's honestly not a big deal as you make it out to seem. We can somehow pretend that you never found out and things would be normal. Or we can totally avoid each other until the awkwardness dies down," he said, shrugging his shoulders and leaning off the ledge. With his hands in his pockets, Mikey slowly made his way towards the entrance; backwards. But he stopped when he thought of a so called brilliant idea. Well, at least to him it was since he didn't feel awkward in this situation at all.

"But remember this, Rose," he said, walking back to her until face to face. "You have pretty eyes," he said softy, slowly inching his lips closer to hers. But instead, Mikey smirked and kissed the vampire's forehead. "Well, I"ll see you on the bright side, vampire!" he waved, walking back to the entrance. "Or the dark side considering you don't like the light," he added another shrug.

Yes, that nerd bird was a teaser.

No big deal? How was this no big deal?! She just found out her best friend had a crush on her and she might like him back---WHOA. Wait just a minute! She did NOT just say that! Did she? Oh, Merlin. Hailey was one confused Gryffindor.

"We are not avoiding each other!" Hailey said defiantly. That would be even more awkward! But as she said this, Mikey started walking towards the entrance. He couldn't be leaving. Not NOW, when they needed to TALK. About stuff.

But before she could shout for him to wait, he was already back. INCHES from her face. And she couldn't tell if he really meant the thing about having pretty eyes or if it was just a joke. And before she could get any more uncomfortable, Mikey had kissed her forehead and walked away.
She closed her eyes and sighed. That teaser. And then she walked after him, dragging him back to the window.

"Remember when I told you about that dream I had on Twitter? How I dreamed that you kissed me?" She didn't really know where she was going with this but it was worth a shot. "And then you asked if you were a good kisser? And I lied and said I didn't remember?" How could he forget that conversation? Hailey was looking right at him, her hand still grasping his.
"And then you said we should try it out." He had been joking, of course. But was he?

But of course, knowing Hailey, she wouldn't give up on something she was persistent about too easily. Though Mikey really wished she had on this situation. But then, she brought up the conversation they had a while ago. Hard to forget that one. "Yeah, I remember that conversation," he said, looking down at his hand and Hailey's in it. "Why are you bringing it up?" he asked. Did she want them to try dating? Pfft, Mikey doubted it. There would only ever be one reason for Mikey not to date Hailey. She was related to that stupid slug who couldn't mind his own business. Frankly, the nerd didn't care if Hailey and Hunter were related. He just didn't want the slug to know things that didn't concern his well being. Like them.

"Do you want us to try dating?" he arched an eyebrow. "It sound more like an experiment than a relationship,"

She waited for him to say that he remembered it before saying more. "Because--" But he interrupted again.
She didn't like how doubtful he was. Here she was, trying to work things out and he wasn't making it any easier. The least he could do is act serious!

"You didn't let me finish," She said, ignoring his question. Frankly, she didn't want to answer it. "You said you were joking about trying the kiss, obviously but..." She stopped. She didn't want to go on. But she had gotten this far.
There was no way in hell she could say while looking at Mikey, though. So she let go of his hand and looked out the window instead. Pretended she was talking to the sky.

"But I was hoping you weren't joking. I wanted to try...no, I wanted more than to try."
He could easily have ripped her heart into a million pieces right there if he wanted to since she had just spilled her guts-but she hoped he wouldn't.

Sheesh, talk about a girl being impatient. But Mikey listened, ignoring the headache he was suddenly getting from Hailey not making up her mind. They were right; girls were very indecisive. Don't forget dramatic. Instead of looking down, Hailey looked out the window and towards the sky. He let out a snort, though he was trying his best to keep it inside. Well, no one told Hailey to be dramatic about the current situation. Oh. So she did like him back. Okay. It just took Mikey a few seconds to process what had just happened. He sighed, nonetheless, rubbing his temples.

"Alright then let's start dating. I'm not going to deny you either. That would just be mean," he smirked. But thankfully, she wasn't looking at him.
