Sammy was here on a mission: to steal Katie's owl. Well, borrow Katie's owl. She needed it. FOR A MISSION. To save Everett's backside and get him a eyepatch. Surely Katie wouldn't notice if her bird was missing for a couple of days? Surely not. So Sammy had wrapped herself up in jeans, uggboots, a big coat, a beanie and her Hufflepuff scarf. It was cold today and the owlery was always ten times colder than the common room so she was going prepared this time. She had her hands shoved in her pockets because she hadn't been able to find her gloves and was soon stumped when she reached the door. It was closed and wasn't opening anytime soon plus she hadn't thought she would need her wand so it was under her pillow int he dorms. Gosh diddly darn. Thankfully Sammy was someone who knew how to get around something like a closed door. First try: she tried to open it with her elbow but the handle had quite an amount of ice on it so her elbow had no effect. Second try: This time she tried her foot. Using the railing for balance she poked her tongue out slightly as she tried to concentrate on turning the handle with her shoe, this time she got close, but then fell over because she lost concentration. 1 to ice, 0 to Sammy.

Adam was trudging through the snow because he didn't have much to do at the moment. When he looked up to glance at the scenary someone was up by the owlery. Struggling to get into the owlery. Grimacing, he made his way up all the billion of stairs that the creator had decided on putting and saw a blonde haired girl trying to pry the door open. He couldn't help but laugh when he saw who it was,"Hahaha... You really think you're gonna open the door like that. Mere power and force." Ok. Quiet now,Adam,don't want to get on her bad side. Not that he never got on Sammy's bad side.

He whipped out his wand, pointed it at her for a second and said ""Alohamora." He said, tipping the wand towards the lock. A small little click could be distinctly heard. Adam then jiggled the knob a bit and spread the door wide open. "Lovely smell." He said sarcastically,allowing her to walk in first.

In the first place he had no intention of being here, but he was already here. It wouldn't kill him to chat with her for a while.

Sammy was in mere shock when someone else joined her at the owlery door. It wasn't just her that was stupid enough to venture out into the cold. But she pulled herself together quickly enough as she got up off the cold stone floor. Upon seeing who it was that was being a total show-off had joined her she said. "I forgot both my wand and my sonic screwdriver" with a small pout. Yes Sammy has a sonic screwdriver. No it does not work. Yet.

Lovely? That wasn't the word Sammy would've used to describe it. Wait. He was being sarcastic. She was getting good at this whole telling sarcasm and non-sarcasm apart thing. She screwed up her nose slightly and said "smells like what imagine the kitchens would smell like if no one went in there and the house elves didn't clean up. At all." then pulling her scarf up so it covered her nose and blocked out the smell at least a little bit. "Thanks for opening the door by the way" she said, smiling but her scarf hid it.

She started looking for Katie's owl almost straight away, owls all looked the same to her and she wanted to get back to the warm fire in the common room so the sooner she found Katie's owl, the better. As she inspected a row of owls, keeping a safe distance away from them she said "So what brings you to Antartica?" she asked Adam, the owlery is now Antartica. Deal with it.

"That's a silly mistake, forgetting your sonic screwdriver. It's an esstenial item for every whovian-must be on you at all times." He teased her. And he almost forgot to mention, "Oh, and then there's your wand, which you shouldn't forget." Because the sonic screwdriver was almost equivalent to the wand.

That had been a lovely choice of words. Adam scrunched up his face trying to smell of a kitchen what he imagined to reek of wet socks and stuffiness. He wasn't sure where the wet socks came from in a kitchen. "Good smell to put on my mind. Your welcome." Adam nodded at the mention of her thanking him for the door. "I'm guessing next thing you wouldn't done was ram your shoulder onto the door?"

"Nothing,really." He shrugged off his shoulders easily. "Just was walking outside and saw someone,you, struggling with the door. What better way to keep myself occupied than to be a good citizen of Hogwarts- wow, I just sounded really government like." He breathed when he realized he used the words 'occupied', 'good citizen' and 'government like'. "I don't mind really. Antartica- I like the cold and snow.But you, what are you doing here?"

"I know, I know. Was just in a bit of a hurry that's all" Sammy said, pulling her scarf down for a moment just to poke her tongue out at him then pulled it back up to it's rightful place. Over her nose keeping gross smells out. Simple. This was why Sammy didn't have an owl. Because they smelt. Really bad. All the time. At least Moggy cleaned himself.

"I thought so. It was that or owl crap. House elves abandoning their duties sounded more dramatic" she said with a small shrug. She liked being dramatic. It was so much more fun then actually being realistic. Who does that? She froze when he asked if her next move was going to be trying to ram the door down with her shoulder which would've ended in a big bruise. That was what I was going to do. But it sounds so stupid. Lie Sammy. You can't lie. Shut up yes I can. she thought keeping her poker face on then saying "ye-I mean no. Definitely no." cha cha, real smooth.

Sammy stared at him for a small moment before saying "no wonder they made you a prefect." then going back to her search for Katie's owl. She couldn't even remember it's name. "I like snow. I don't like cold." she commented before answering the question "Looking for Katie's owl. I gotta get poodle- I mean Everett- an eyepatch so he'll stop insulting Captain Jack Sparrow." she said.

"Maybe you should remember your wand next time. It's never safe to be strolling around the castle or grounds without your wand. Anything could happen at any second,and then what are you left at? Defenseless." He had to stop himself there because now he realized how much of a Professor he sounded like. Adam didn't want anything like that happening to him. He shuddered at the thought.

Adam gave her an odd smile when she half answered she wasn't going to and was going to ram her shoulder into the door. "Right. Just be glad Mr. Muscle Man came along." Did he really just say that? He looked at his elbows and saw they were rather flappy looking. "Maybe not." He continued laughing at himself, as he scrunched up his nose at his own comment.

"An eyepatch? " He said in a slow and confused tone. Yep.It's official the Star family had gone crazy over the years. Even the normal one had gotten a little bit weird.Why would an owl need an eyepatch,and who was the referred Captain Jack Sparrow-the object,not the character. "And why would your-I mean her owl need an eyepatch? And who's Captain Jack Sparrow-and not the guy from the movies.."

Now Sammy was confused. Why on earth would she absolutelypositivelyneed her wand on her at all times? Especially if she wasn't at class. Seriously, were the portraits going to insult her to death if she didn't put the silencing charm on them? "Dude, if something tried to attack me or whatever I'd probably just run away whether I had my wand or not" she said, it was a gift how fast she could run. She just couldn't run for very long.... she would work on that over the summer. yes.

She had to bite her lip to stop herself from laughing when Adam called himself Mr Muscle Man. It wasn't polite. And it's not that he was fat or anything, it was just that he wasn't exactly muscular. But then he started laughing at himself ... so did that mean she could laugh or? She let out a small chuckle anyway before saying "Yeah maybe you should just call yourself 'Memory Man'" she said with a small grin.

Sammy shook her head. Honestly. It's not like the tale behind why she needed Katie's owl was weird or anything. "No, no, no. I need Katie's owl so I can order an eyepatch for Everett, who is a super stubborn Slytherin with hair like a poodle's, because he started saying that pirates were mean and stuff because a guy on the internet with an eyepatch stole his face and then he started saying that Captain Jack Sparrow, as in the character from the Disney movies Pirates of the Caribbean, is mean as well and that he stole a person's ship. So I have to get him an eyepatch to make him shut up." she blabbered finishing with a nod. It made perfect sense to her.

"What if there's an attack on the school and you're all alone in a desserted dark,empty corridor and you hear a noise. What if the noise comes closer and closer and BAM! the thing attacks you and you're lying on the floor, barely stirring." He said with such fright and acting that he slapped his fist into his other palm, creating a smacking,slapping sound. Yeah,maybe he shouldn't have made that scenario. But maybe she'd see his point now.

"Memory Man?" Was all he could utter. Maybe Nessie was right. Maybe he did need a new brain because he had no clue what Sammy meant by that.

"Right because that made complete sense. All I know and understand is that Captain Jack Sparrow-did indeed steal a ship in one of them movies." He remembered that movie,at least his parents had it back home. It had put him to sleep.

Sammy stared at him. "If there was an attack on the school I would be sitting in the back corner of the kitchens with a set of knives and my cat. Not wandering around the castle." she said. What did this boy think she did with her free time? Study? Merlin no, she planned on what she would do in various unlikely scenarios.

She nodded. "because you have a good memory. Or at least better than mine." she said, then thought about for a moment "which, now that I think about it isn't very hard to have a better memory than me" she added quietly with a small frown. A goldfish probably had a better memory than her.

She groaned and the palm of her hand hit her forehead. You'd think it was hard to follow her stories. "Okay, I need Katie's owl to order an eyepatch for Everett so he'll shut up" she said slowly, over enunciating everything that she said, hoping that she wouldn't have to explain it again.

Holding back his tongue Adam had to put a sheer amount of biting on the skin to refrain himself for interrupting her. When she had finished with her explanation all Adam could muster was "In my books, I think a wand is more practical in a situation like that. You can do more spells and charms with it." There. Now he would try to drop the subject.

Then he angled his head when Sammy thought he had a good memory. "You must've mistaken me for another Adam Burn- I only remember specific things. Not everything." Like a dog's or cat's name he might forget, or a special date. "I'm sure your memory isn't that bad. If I plugged a memory card into you, you'd be holding half the storage device in it."

He nodded. Finally understanding the point without all the rubbish in the way making it sound more confusing than it had really been. "You'll need to order a parrot or monkey with that eyepatch. If he's gonna be a pirate-well no pirate with an eyepatch is complete without a monkey or a parrot-it's just unjust if he doesn't have a sidekick." Then he realized she may not have the money for that, and he may have made her more stressed over the situation, so he flusterdly shook his hands about.

Sammy simply shrugged. "I'd have at least a hundred house elves with me. I think that's pretty practical." she said. But she rather liked Adam so she then continued to say "But everyone has their own ideas of what's practical" with a small nod. Considering his face kind of looked like Everett's when Sammy talked about how eh and Amy should get together, just not as ugly.

"I only know one Adam Burn." she pointed out. Maybe she would have to attach her wand to one of those keyrings that zoom back in when you let go of whatever was attached to it. Add that to the list of things that sounded cool and she wanted. A memory card? Her memory was basically the complete opposite of a memory card. Unless Doctor Who came into the question, then she knew a lot. "... If you wanna know stuff about Doctor Who and Disney, then sure. I guess" she said with her "lol idk" face.

Sammy considered it for a moment. Yes a parrot or monkey would be a very nice addition if Everett had a eyepatch. But Sammy wasn't buying Everett an animal. Hell no. Not until he reenacted a Disney scene to Amy. Then maybe she'd buy him a parrot for his birthday or something. Probably not. Maybe a toy one. Whilst she was pondering all this Adam started doing a .... funky dance? When she noticed she looked at him funny for a moment before asking "You alright?" with her eyebrows raised.

"But house-elves don't have wands. And I don't think Kurumi would be glad to see you using house elves as protection." Oh well, what could he do about that. Then he reminded himself that a good whack to the head with a metal pan could seriously knock someone out for minutes. "Though, those pots and pans could seriously inflict some heavy damage to someone,so it's all good." He might as well agree with her to some extent.

He couldn't help but smirk. There was only one person named Adam Burn. And even if there was another person named Adam Burn, well, say the name and 'skirt chaser' Adam will come into mind first. "I need to brush up on my Disney stuff.." Adam said pointing at her. Maybe she can give him a quick over view on a movie or t.v. show or something.

His hands stopped moving around when he realized Sammy might've thought he'd be spazzing out. "Oh," He said laughing as he pointed at his hands. "I was just gesturing that it'd be a -that you don't have to buy a parrot or monkey at all. Just some crazy idea that had popped into my head."

"Yeah but they can apparate in and out of Hogwarts. And if it all gets real bad I can ask one of them really nicely to take me home." Sammy said. There were no flaws to her plan, anyone who disagreed was crazy. She shrugged at the mention of Kurumi "I don't know her, why should I care whether she approves of my awesome plans or not" she said. That's like saying that she cared what the creepy guy in the Leaky Cauldron thought of how excited she got when it wasn't raining. "I hadn't even thought of those" she said, mentally adding it to the escape plan.

THIS WAS OBVIOUS. She thought she ought not to go into a whole lecture about Disney because she could feel the tips of her fingers losing feeling so instead she merely said "Well I could lend you some. I have basically all the animated Disney movies and quite a lot of the non-animated ones. Or you could come over in the summer and have a Disney marathon or something?" she offered. She usually had have Disney marathons with her sister, which sucked big time. Because she always wanted to watch the crappy ones. If she had a Disney marathon with someone who was a bit behind on Disney she would be able to pick the best movies.

Oh. Okay. Cool. Now what. She wanted to move on from the idea of buying Everett anything. Made her feel like she was giving into that poodle hair. "Uh, can you help me look for the owl? The sooner I find it the sooner I can find a warm spot in the castle again" she asked, indicating at the ton of owls behind her.

Lana giggled as she stood back. "I was just teasing you silly bean!" She had meant no harm with the comment, but she never thought her twin would take it so harshly. "Just by a little bit," she replied with a hug. "And I have missed you, but I've been busy reading." Her eyes lit up a bit. "There is so much interesting things to read about and I lost track of time." It wasn't like she was trying to avoid her twin or something. "Of course, I'm not mad at you, silly."

Laura looked at Lana and smiled. "Reading is great, I've read a lot but i've been doing other things as well, i've made a best friend who's invited me to spend a week at her house." Laura smiled. "And if Daddy says I can I'm going, she sooooooooooooooo fun to hang out with." Laura then realised Lana might feel left out, so she gave her sister a bear hug. "I'm sure you will make some great friends soon.

Lana smiled. She was just happy that Laura wasn't mad at her. "You know I like reading. There are so many books in the library and I think I want to read all of them one day." It was a huge task to undertake, but she was willing to do it before she left Hogwarts. "I'm happy that you made friends." She was still attempting to make friends, but she had finally gotten to the point where it didn't bother her to be alone all the time. "I'm sure that Daddy will say it will be fine. You know he just wants us to be happy." Offering her twin another hug, she shrugged her shoulders. "I know but I'm okay with being alone too." She wanted friends, but it just came a bit harder for her to make them; unlike how her sister had so many friends.

Laura smiled at her sister. "That's going to be impossible, there must be over 1,000 books in the Library." Laura sighed hopefully her sister could do it but she wasn't convinced. "If you need any help, I'll help." Laura loved helping her sister and she had missed her loads. "We should send an owl to mummy and daddy."

Lana frowned and placed her hands on her hips and shook her head. "Nothing is impossible and I tell you that I will do!" She wasn't going to let the sheer number of books scare her away from what she put her mind to. If she wanted to read all the books in the library, she would do it. It would surely take her all seven years to do it, but she would accomplish it. "With making friends? she asked. It wasn't like she didn't want friends, she did; but she just hadn't met too many people she liked and got along with. Well, besides her fellow quidditch teammates. "Yes, we should! I'm sure they are worried sick about how we are doing." She did feel terrible that she hadn't written in so long.

Laura smiled at her sister and giggled when she looked like a mother telling someone off. "Your acting like mummy." Laura giggled, seriously it was the perfect match for what mummy did when her and Lana was in trouble. "But if that's what you want to do, I won't stop you though I think your wasting your time." Laura put her hands on her hips like Lana had just done, see she could act like mummy too.

Lana pouted a bit and shook her head. "There is nothing wrong with acting like mummy." It wasn't that she was offended by the comparison, she just didn't think she was acting like their mother. "It's not a waste of time though. It's important to to read things. Do you think all the reading we have to do in lesson is a waste of time," she frowned. "Wait, don't answer that." This was where the two of them were different and she knew it. "I'm going to read all those books if it's the last thing I do." she added with a sense of finality. It was going to happen!

Crossing her arms over her chest, she pouted again and looked upward for their owls. There were letters to be sent and reading for her to get back to.

Laura looked at Lana and sighed as she copied her sister, this was fun. "I know that but it's funny." Laura giggled, seriously what was wrong with her sister today. "I think some of the reading is a waste of time, but other are interesting." Laura laughed ignoring the don't answer it bit. "But seriously you won't be able to read it all, the Professors won't let you in the restricted section."

Laura sighed as she realised Lana was thinking about abandoning her, well two could play at that game. "Tell Mummy and Daddy I said hi." Laura unfolded her arms and turned to leave before turning back. "Oh and tell them you don't love me no more because you don't want to spend time with me." Laura felt a tear coming and quickly wiped her eyes.

Lana couldn't really believe her sister was laughing at her like so. Wasn't she aware just how important this all was to her. Pouting again, she shook her head. "I will read all the books in this library, make my words. They might not allow me in the restricted section now, but I still have six more years here." They were after all just firsties, but who was to say that they wouldn't be allow to get a permission slip in their coming years. She was beyond determined now.

Crunching up her nose, she scowled at her twin. "You know Daddy and Mummy expect letters from both of us. I'm not going to get in trouble because you don't want to send them one." she replied with a stuck out tongue. "I'm not the one that doesn't want to spend time together. You're the one that is always out with your new best friends." There she had said it. She really was jealous that her twin was the popular one.

Laura turned back to her sister and sighed. "If that's what you want to do I'll support you." Laura had no idea her sister had meant it and she was just teasing her. "If you need any help I'll help." Laura had to at least read something out of the Library right.

Laura stared at her sister and snapped. "Well why don't you just tell them, that you starting being mean to me and I didn't want to get in a fight so I left." Laura was annoyed now. "And It's not my fault that you left me all alone, what was I suppost to do sit in the Hufflepuff Tower and cry myself to sleep?" Laura looked straight into her sister eyes, she was upset but also shocked her sister was jealous of her.

Lana was still a bit upset about how her sister was teasing her. She wasn't like her twin and she did like to read and she wasn't taking all this teasing well at all. "You don't have to be so mean about it. I like to read and I find nothing wrong with wanting to read every book in the library." At this point, reading was the only think she seemed to do well. Her quidditch skills were decent and her social skills were lacking. To have her sister teasing her about reading just hurt.

She narrowed her eyes and looked at her twin in shock. She was not being mean to her sister at all, she was just defeating what she wanted to do. Their parents did always tell them they needed to stand up for themselves. "If you really think I'm being mean, you haven't seen anything yet." she replied as she stumped away from Laura and headed over to where she say Hermes resting. The little owl was wooting softly and she knew her owl could sense something was not right.

"You are hardly alone with all the friends you have," she yelled back as she tended to her owl. She was just too upset with her sister now.

Laura looked at her sister and sighed. "Lana, I'm sorry if you thought I was teasing you I wasn't." Seriously how was Laura suppost to know that Lana had been serious about reading the books but well if that was what Lana wanted to do then Laura would support her.

Laura sighed as she turned away to look at Beaky who seemed to have realised that she was fighting with someone and had gone up into the sky whilst the fighting stopped.

Laura suddenly turn back to her sister when she spoke. "Mummy said we had to look after each other when we left, but instead of staying together we have drifted apart." Laura sighed, she had heard Ravenclaws and Hufflepuff fight but she hadn't expected it to be them two that was fighting.

Laura snapped at her sister when she spoke again. "Oh yeah, I know but you didn't think I'd like to spend time with my sister did you, a friend is a friend but a sister is more important." Laura screamed, seriously she would defend her sister to the hills and back but Lana was thinking she didn't care about her.
