For a minute, she stared at the photo frame in the table. It was nicely done and she was satisfied with it. However, her thoughts drifted back to the Transfiguration classroom when she had finished and Professor Magnus asked her to practice the same spell with the her own parchment instead of a muggle paper. She did not succeed, there were flaws and she remembered telling herself that she would keep practicing it when she had the chance to do so.

Alas, today was her chance. Two and a half hours more to go. She can still practice the spell with the use of a parchment. "Yeah..I will." she said, encouraging herself. And I'll use a parchment for my submitted work, she added in her mind. Setting the newly transfigured koala themed picture frame and stack of muggle paper aside, Beezus took one piece of parchment from her backpack. Most certainly, it wasn't the same with the muggle paper. Its texture was more rough.

She settled it flatly on the table.

Then she held her wand once more and pointed its tip towards the parchment. "Statua Habitum." she uttered.

Then, from the parchment came a frame.

''Statua Habitum,'' she practiced, waving her wand... In a fun way... LuLu looked at the practice parchment... Hmm? Well it was alright! not brilliant... But she had loads more time to work on that! R-right? She nodded to herself in agreement.. with herself!

She then took out her.. frame drawing, and placed it down! ''Statua Habitum,'' Emmm... Not quite!

She frowned at it

Ugh...

"Falalala!" Sophie came humming into the practice room and looked around. It was full of people already working on their homework. It was an interesting view, Sophie thought. She could totally just sit there and watch the other students drawing away and/or trying their best to get the spell right, either in group or by themselves.

Smiling, she found a spot on the floor for her. After all, she hadn't just come here to watch people working, and she didn't really mind sitting on the floor. She actually liked it a lot. Putting her bag by her side, she pulled some sheets of paper out, alongside some of her muggle crayons. Yep, she still had those and just loved them! Obviously she would take them with her to Hogwarts.

Arts was one of her favorite subjects back at her muggle school. She loved drawing and couldn't believe that it was part of their homework! Hogwarts was getting just better and better! Her smile widened as she drew what she wanted her picture frame to look like.

"Pfft. Too simple." she mumbled as she looked at her newly transfigured photo frame. There were no more flaws, no more cracked borders and uneven sides. But she was just not satisfied. She wanted it have more design. She wanted it to look more...good.

With a small frown, she pointed her wand once more on the frame and, "Reverto!" reverted the frame back into the parchment. Sure, using parchment than using muggle paper was simpler and much easier yet her aim was to make a frame from the parchment. So, she'll work it out.

As the parchment lay flat on the table's surface, Beezus tried imagining a design that was simple yet elegant. She wanted her frame to took the perspective of that. Soon her minds drifted to when her sister was still alive. She remembered that they would play with butterflies in the backyard while their mother would plant various flowers. She missed her sister.

Just as tears began clouding her eyes, the eaglet uttered, "Statua Habitum.." as she traced the parchment in mid air. The parchment, crumpled a bit but straightened again. Beezus thought the spell didn't work. But then...the parchment started crumpling again, much harder and much forceful than before. It contorted, it whizzled, and then formed a frame.

"Flowers..Butterfly.." she couldn't help but mutter as she saw the frame's design. "And..and..why are you even glowing?" Beezus tried asking. But she knew she wouldn't get an answer from the picture frame.

LuLu stared at it.. BORING she frowned ''Reverto,'' she stared at her drawing again.. WHY couldn't it look like that? ''Statua Habitum,'' she frowned again... ''Hmph,'' ... she sighed heavily and looked at the golden square, no flowers, no waves! Nothing... ''Reverto,'' she sighed ''Statua Habitum,'' she glimpsed at it.. On it's way anyways.. But not quite

When she was done with her first drawing, she stared at it before getting her wand out. It was simple and it wouldn't be hard to make the picture frame look like that.

Sophie put another sheet of paper in front of her and drew a square around it with her wand. "Statua Habitum!" She watched as the paper started moving by itself, and a few seconds later, there was a red picture frame in front of her. It was nothing very complex, but Sophie thought it was pretty. She liked how the little white waves went around the whole frame, alongside with some white bubbles.

It was pretty, but it wasn't the one Sophie would hand in. She was just practicing for now, although she really liked this frame and would keep it! Packing up her things again, she thought about who she would give her picture frame to when she was done. Throwing her bag over her shoulder, she walked out of the room, quietly.

Ira was eager to go to bed. But figured that first completing her Transfiguration homework was a must, she had to submit it tomorrow and doing it morning was not an option for a late bird like her. So she walked into the Transfiguration practice room for doing it. After all, if she needed any help, then and there, she could ask Professor.

She found an empty chair and keeping her bag to the side, sat down. Then she thought about what must be done and how to do it. First she would make some sketches and then focus on those images and then try to transfigure replica frames. Yeah, that would be good!

So she went to the front of the room and took some sheets of loose paper and also a few parchments. Professor had said that both produced different textures. So she would try on both and see which would be better. Then, coming back to her seat, she took out the required materials like a pencil, her quill, some crayons etc. Being a muggleborn, she was much more used to drawing with a pencil than a quill!

Then she started to visualize how she wanted her frame to look like..

Glenn sat on the ground with her blank piece of paper, she had decided not to use her photo at the present time after failing multiple times at it, she was just going to make the frame first.

She had gone out into the grounds before because it was good weather, but now it had gotten chillier in the afternoon so she came back here to practise again. She focused on what she wanted her frame to look like, just a simple black frame to start off with, "Statua Habitum!" Glenn said, drawing the square on the piece of paper as she did so. Her piece of paper darkened until it was black and then seemed to sprout a hole in the middle until it was a perfect plain black frame.

Happy with not nearly burning up the building, and producing a frame, Glenn smiled. But it wasn't what she wan't her overall project to be, she pointed her wand at the paper and said, "Reverto," It transformed back into a blank piece of paper. Hmm, what to make next.

At first, Ira decided to just transfigure a simple frame. She decided to see the difference between using paper and parchment for it. Then based on which looked nice to her, she would do the later ones!

So she visualised how the frame should look like. Since it was just a simple square plain frame, she didn't sketch, but instead just set to work on. She lightly traced a square on the paper with the tip of her wand and muttered, "Statua Habitum" Yess! A frame appeared. It was almost like how she had visualized, a simple wooden frame. So this meant that her spell was good.Now moving to the parchment, she used the same design and same spell and same method And this is what she got another frame. Both frames were of same design but different raw materials. So accordingly, she got two frames which were clearly different from each other!

Now the question was, which should she choose? Both were nice in their own way. So Ira decided to do one of each!

It didn't seem to be working.. at all! She didn't know if she was to be worried or not, she shrugged to herself slightly and looked at her wand again! Sigh, sigh, sigh... Maybe the other students weren't trying to get perfection.. Maybe they'd be fine with anything.. LuLu looked at her drawing again..

''Reverto,''

It was just getting annoying now... ''Statua Habitum,'' She looked at the frame.. I-it was perfect!!!!

The frames she had earlier transfigured weren't needed by her. So she decided to just revert them back to their original state. So she pointed her wand and muttered, "Reverto!" And lo! there was her paper and parchment, both safe and sound!

Now that the question of using paper or parchment had been resolved, Ira set to work of sketching the designs. She drew many of them, in all sizes and shapes, in squares, circles, oblong and weird other shapes too! She liked the flowery ones and the freehand type of designs too. Then, once she had finished with her sketching, Ira kept her sketchpad aside and started on the actual Transfiguration work. It certainly looked like it was going to finish early.

It was then that she remembered about the photo that they had to use! Thankfully she had brought it along with her her and hadn't forgotten it. She fished it out of bag and kept it on the desk. So now she had to transfigure a frame around that photograph. She had brought along just a nature's photograph which was eye-pleasing. This had been taken on one of her family tours to hill stations!

She set to work. She used the paper first. She concentrated hard on the design she wanted, it was a not-too-simple but not-too-difficult design. She drew a square around the photograph and muttered, "Statua Habitum". And yes, as expected, a nice wooden frame appeared. It looked pretty good!

Isabelle took the paper sign she had written and began to stick it to the door of the practice room. She would be shutting it for now, and this was her way of letting people know they couldn't use it for a little while.

Once stuck, she appraised it before going inside and shutting the door behind her. Now she just had to wait for Mister Neves.

She examined her newly transfigured photo frame for any cracks ar any kind of defect or anything like that. The good news was that there didn't appear to be any of it. Her frame appeared perfect! Woots!

It wasn't like Ira wasn't happy with what she had created. But rather, she wasn't satisfied about it.. She wanted to do something nice and bright and flowery. So deciding on doing that type of frame, Ira turned to one of her sketches. There, she had done a very nice simple frame with flowers. She decided to try that.

So, first she reversed the present frame, "Reverto!" and the frame turned back to the paper it was. Then this time, she decided to use parchment. So she took one.

Next she concentrated on the image of the particular frame she wanted, and drew a square, no actually it was a rectangle. And then muttered, "Statua Habitum" She opened her eyes, to look as her parchment transfigured into a photo frame. Yes, it was pretty, but still there weren't any flowers on it like she wanted. So, Ira was still not satisfied.

João had run the last two floors for he feared he was late. The thing was, he just couldn't decide what he should wear and had opted for the plain school robes at last. Now, pausing to catch his breath in front of the door, he checked his watch and saw that he was just in time. Hopefully, the professor hadn't been waiting for long.

Knocking on the door, he opened it slowly and peered in before stepping inside. "Hello, professor," he greeted the woman with a small bow.

Now what?

Ira, still not satisfied, even after having made around half-dozen photo frames, made some more sketches. Why wasn't her imagination as god as some others? she wondered to herself. She drew the frames which looked like, not frames but rather some freehand design. Ira, concentrate, she told herself.

Then she figured that drawing sketches wouldn't be much of a help here. She would just have to trust her imagination powers and create a frame like she wanted. Wait, before that how many frames was she going to make? two? three? no, one would be enough which she could give to Kurumi. But she also wanted to give one to a professor. So that was decided, she would make two frames, one for Kurumi, and another for Professor Hadley. Or should she give it to Transfiguration professor Magnus maybe.. No, but she liked Professor Hadley more. So it was final.

And she decided to use parchments only this time. She wanted kind of sturdy frames. SO taking a deep breath she set about her work. But then stopped. She was getting kind of tired in here. So she thought of going back to her dormitory, and doing all this in her room. Yeah, that might be better. Thinking of the soft fluffy pillows made her this desire even stronger!

So she collected her things which were required and also took some extra parchments and got up. Taking her bag, she went out of the Transfiguration room back to her dormitory.

Oh, and it wasn't long before Mister Neves made an appearance.

Isabelle had been turning the lighting down a little, and placing two large cushions on the floor when he came in. Looking up she gave him a smile and nodded her head. "Afternoon, Mister Neves. Please come and take a seat down here." She gestured towards one of the cushions, before sitting herself down on the other.

"Now, you won't be changing yourself straight away, it's not that easy," if only it was, then maybe she would have achieved it herself. "But we'll, or rather you, will be performing some human transfiguration to get yourself accustomed to being an animal. Tell me first though, what is your patronus?" Because usually it was the same as the animagus would be.

Sitting down where she had pointed, he faced her, listening intently. Of course. He just had to be patient, hopefully he would. Nodding, he looked away for a moment, imagining what kind of things they would do, before looking up at the professor again to answer her.

"A fox, professor." He was actually pretty proud with his patronus, and hoped it to be his animagus form either.

"A fox? Lovely," Isabelle smiled as he sat down, and wiggled herself to get comfortable. She did like foxes. Not that that had anything to do with how they would proceed with this.

"Now, of course, there are no guarantees that your animagus form will be the same, but it generally is for most people. Have you done any human transfiguration before?" She knew that she hadn't taught him any, but that wasn't to say another teacher hadn't when she wasn't there.

João grinned proudly. Foxes were lovely, especially their tails, but they also had the adequate slyness that he loved the most about them.

"In my previous school, we did partial transfiguration." Like, transforming his arms into wings and such. That should be enough, right?

Partial, good. That was good. So he knew something. "Well that is the sort of thing we will be starting off with, just to refresh your memory and skills. You'll be performing them, and I'll be here in case anything goes wrong and you need to be switched back." But hopefully he'd be okay. Seemed like a sensible lad.

"Now, as your patronus is a fox, I think we'll start with the 'Capistrum' spell. It turns your nose and mouth into the muzzle of a dog." Which was very similar to a fox, yes. Isabelle nodded to him, signalling he should get his wand out ready. She would then do a demonstration.

João nodded as she explained, and smiled nervously at the 'if something goes wrong' part. Hopefully, nothing would go wrong. He couldn't imagine any part of his deformed. No, he would be fine. He had always been.

Hopefully.

In a second, his wand was out of its wrist holster and was in his hand. "In my previous school, we worked mostly on wings," he said as if musing to himself. Because those boring idiots thought with only wings they could fly. And now, that was a new spell for him. Hopefully, it wasn't any harder than the wing trick.

Oh, nervous smile. Mhmm, Isabelle was beginning to wish she hadn't mentioned that something might go wrong. Although she always did like her students to know all the facts before they did anything. So they would just plow on.

Good, his wand was at the ready. She nodded to him, and was about to perform the spell on herself, when Joao spoke. "Wings? Well, perhaps you'll be able to demonstrate that one for me a little later," she smiled. But for now.

Pointing her wand at the bit of skin below her nose, Isabelle said the spell clearly, "Capistrum." Slowly her face began to elongate and get furrier, forming like that of a largeish dog. Not being able to speak was a slight disadvantage, so instead, once the transformation was complete, Isabelle pointed at her face in a 'ta da' motion. A quick tap and she reverted back to her usual self, complete with grin.

"It's simple really, when you know how. But because it requires some non-verbal work, only students over fifth year would be able to manage it. Just point and say the incantation, no wand movement needed. You want to have a go?"

João nodded vaguely. If she was to make him an animagus, he would make her any transfiguration she wished. If it wasn't such a long process!

A regular student would have laughed maybe. But João didn't. Instead, he watched all the process with very careful eyes, watching especially the wand. But there seemed to be no special wand movement. Nodding vaguely again when the transformation was complete, he bit his lower lip absent-mindedly. So this was it? It seemed easier than the wings. But maybe that was because the professor had wanted the wings to be furry, just for the fun of it. Ugh.

"I guess I know," he said, chuckling a little nervously. Would it affect her impression if he failed to do it at his first time? He knew it would not help him to think so, but he couldn't also not think it. Taking a deep breath, he pointed his wand right under his nose and spoke the spell carefully and clearly, "Capistrum."

At the first second nothing happened, but then his nose started to get longer and feel funnier. It was also blackish brown now. He raised his hands to feel it and noticed it was less furrier than it should be. He was never a fan of them.

Giving the professor enough time to examine his work, he tapped the wand back and it was again his handsome face. Phew. Then, offering her a nervous smile again, he waited for her to comment.

Isabelle sat, cross legged, watching intently as Joao started his first try of the spell. It actually went reasonably well, although the muzzle wasn't as furry as it could be. Not that he could be blamed for that - people hardly ever got it right first time.

Nodding at him as she appraised his work and changed back, Issy scratched her own face slightly. The after effects could sometimes last for a little while afterwards. Turning into an animal wasn't something that happened enough for the body to get used to it. At least for most people.

"You did very well. I do think you should give it another couple of tries, get different sorts of muzzle each time - which would depend on intent, as you know." Isabelle gave him a grin and got up off the floor. Walking over to one of the tables, she picked up a mirror that she had placed there earlier and went back over to Joao. "Here, use this so you can see the transformation yourself. It might also help with concentration."

Well, at least she praised his try. That relieved him and João smiled back in return. Yeah, it wasn't that bad for his first try, although he was accustomed to getting the spells alright at the first try. Shrugging to himself, he waited for her next directions, which were...

See the transformation himself?!

No thank you. He'd rather pass those horrible moments of transformation of his handsome face into a dog's.

"Shall I try now?" Guess he should. Taking a breath, he got the mirror and stared at it, trying to imagine himself like a black, labrador retriever. Tapping his upper mouth, he said "Capistrum," again clearly. He kept staring at the mirror, although it horrified him, and he actually directed his transformation. Or so he wanted to think. He wasn't sure if such a thing was possible once the spell was spoken. But it felt nice and reassuring just to think he could.

Maybe his muzzle was a bit shorter than it should be, he wasn't sure how long they were supposed to be. He usually opted to stay clear of any animals with long teeth and a strong chin. Though, checking the mirror again, he was pleased with himself that the rest seemed to be alright. Even the furs were there, so it was a better job than the last one, right?

If he could smile, he would have been grinning now.
