Aquamenti? They had used it alot of times in potions class and it was also a spell that Daichi could do. Maybe not at the first try and the jet he would make wasn't as strong as others but he could do it!

And he also wanted to volunteer once in class. In his three years at Hogwarts he had never done such a thing so he wanted to try something different...what could go wrong right? Eeeh.. better not talk about that! But at least it would be a good practise for him!

Slowly, as if he was not sure if he should do this, he raised his arm in the air. "Professor Magnus...can i volunteer too?" he asked and waited for an answer.

Anna Banana 02-17-2012 04:25 PM

Seeing as Sierra hadn't spoken up much during the start of the lesson, she figured she could at least volunteer now. Was she really trying to be Little Miss Helpful? Of course not! She was, as always, just in it for the extra credit. With a little grin on her face, she raised her hand and said, "I'll volunteer, Professor."

WhittyBitty 02-17-2012 05:12 PM

Amelia quickly raised her hand now. "I'll volunteer!"

Hmm. Isabelle surveyed the vase in front of her and chewed on her bottom lip. "What are you thinking about when you cast the spell?" she asked, putting her hands behind her back and turning her gaze to the girl. "It could be that you're paying too close attention to the thimble, rather than the image of what you want it to look like. Try thinking of something completely different and see how you get on."

Walking back to the front, Isabelle clapped her hands to get the classes attention. "All right everyone, I'd like to move on to the next part of the lesson. Those of you with more than one vase, please choose which you like the best and use that - the others can be reverted back and used for homework."

Clearing the board of the words on there, Issy added a new one instead - AGUAMENTI.

"We'll be using this charm to fill the vases and test them out for any imperfections." She gave a little knowing smile to everyone when she said that. Just because they looked good, didn't mean they'd hold water. "Now, we won't be learning it today, even though it could be classed as a transfiguration as well, considering it conjures water from your wand - no what I need is a few helpful volunteers that can already perform it to a standard that they are able to control the jets of water." No mess classroom, that was the aim. And would be nice.

Isabelle looked around at the older ones mainly. The younger students might know the spell, but controlling it was another matter entirely. "You'll be filling your classmates vases for them. Who would like to help, hands up please!"

OOC: I'll probably pick 3 or 4 people for this, and then you'll be able to interact with each other more when testing the vases. ;P

After his initial euphoria of creating a sensible vase has settled down, Vickers looked up as the Professor called for their attention. Ok pick a vase... well obviously he'll be choosing the not so hole-y one. As he set the plastic one aside and set the metal vase at the center of his desk the heard the Professor ask for volunteers. Using and controlling Aguamenti? Yeah he can do that easy "I think I can control it well enough Professor." he said raising his hand.

TakemetotheBurrow 02-17-2012 05:58 PM

Ella sat watching the older students volunteer. Though she had used the charm before in other classes she decided she didn't want to volunteer at risk of making a big mess. She pulled her rainbow vase in front of her and waited patiently for whoever was going to fill it up. She hoped that the water would hold.

FireboltAvis88 02-17-2012 08:09 PM

Although a few students had already volunteered, Alyssa raised her hand. "Uh... Professor I too would like to volunteer if you still need have need for more.

Alyssa had used this spell plenty of times in potions class and while she was working in the Greenhouses, so she was pretty confident that she wouldn't mess this one up.

Bazinga 02-17-2012 09:40 PM

Minerva shot her hand up she was younger, but she was good at the spell. "Professor I could help put water in vases."

magikewe 02-17-2012 09:57 PM

Lily sat quietly as the Professor continued with the class. She had successfully created a vase, but was unsure of imperfections in it. It was nice and blue and kinda slender so she wished to get somebody that knew how to control the spell otherwise it would be more difficult to get the water into the vase. She didn't volunteer herself, because she had not gotten nearly enough practice to know how to control the flow of water very well. At least she knew how to make a vase... that was hopefully waterproof.

She was volunteering to fill vases with jets of water? That suited Lilly. She'd never used the spell, but she could try anyway. It couldn't be that hard, saying the incantation and filling up a vase with water. She put the best vase away, of the two she'd done. One still looked very like a thimble.

Well that was quite a few volunteers to choose from. But Isabelle didn't need them all for this - however she didn't want to make them feel left out. Scanning the hands in the air she pointed in turn to four of them. "Mister Vanderbilt, Mister Katharos, Miss Greingoth and Miss Reinhart, I'd like you four to perform the task for me. The rest of you, thank you so much for volunteering. When it comes to handing out the flowers, Alyssa, Minerva and Lilly - that job shall be yours," she smiled. That way they'd have something to do as well.

"If you could all place your vases in the middle of your desks ready to be filled, the volunteers will come round and do that for you! Thank you." Isabelle gestured to the four she had chosen to go around and start the task. "Let's see how well they hold the water shall we?"

OOC: Just the four people chosen should be the ones performing the spell. You don't need to wait for one of them to mention you by name, although you can do - just put in the subject line that you're waiting etc. Everybody else should be checking to see how watertight their vases are. And they don't have to be perfect! That's all part of the fun. Feel free to interact with the four, and each other - as long as chat is only about the task at hand. Have fun. ;P

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand catching up since I was sleeping.... [ waiting for water :) ]

Okay. So she had been able to change the base material of her vase and not cause any sort of disaster...now to see if she could add a bit of color. Kurumi set her clear glass vase beside the other, and moved another thimble to the center of her desk. With even more fluidity than before, Kurumi drew small clockwise circles over it, moving back ever so slowly as she did. "Floreneo," she said with a renewed calmness. The transformation was much quicker this time, and if she had blinked she may have missed it. Now, her thimble was in the shape of a purple glass vase and was much more complicated than either of the two she had transfigured earlier.

Kurumi then lined up all three of her vases and looked at them, proud of the progress she had made this lesson - it helped that her focus and thoughts hadn't been wandering towards darker subjects as well.

Kurumi was just about to try on her fourth thimble when Professor Magnus moved the class along. Picking up the vase she had just transfigured, Kurumi set it to the side and waved her wand over the other two. "Reverto." Now back in thimble form, she set those back in the neat row of thimbles on her desk.

When Professor Magnus asked for volunteers, Kurumi offered her hand as well. "I feel confident performing the spell, professor," Kurumi said. She had used them in duels recently, so controlling it wouldn't be a problem for the fifth year. Only Kurumi had been a little slow on raising her hand. Oh well.

Lowering her hand, Kurumi arranged the things on her desk so that the purple vase was close to the edge, but not close enough to be knocked off or anything, and set all the thimbles off to the side.

natethegreat 02-17-2012 11:56 PM

Nate put his thible in the middle of the table and said "Floreneo." He had to do it again because he needed to practice the spell reverto to change it back. He then put his wand back into his wand holster. He then awaited for someone to come around to his desk and fill up his vase with water. He was getting nervous because what happens if the vase couldn't hold the water. What happens if it starts to leak and the whole thing broke. Would the professor yell at him for not doing the spell correctly. Or would the professor just make him try again and wait for someone to come around and refill his new vase with water. It was the longest moments of his life. Well at hogwarts it was the longest moments of his life. He had longer at his house.

Jen not sure if her vace in the middle of the desk. Not sure if her vace was correct she put it there anyways.

YAY! Amelia had been chosen to help fill the vases with water. She felt that she was rather good at controlling the water that came from her wand as a Seventh Year, so she wasn't in the least bit worried about messing this task up.

With a smile on her face, she got up from her seat and made her way over to where Kurumi was sitting. Pointing her wand to the vase on the girl's desk, she said "Aguamenti," making sure to stop the water at just the right moment. Then she headed over to the desk of a younger Hufflepuff boy and put some water in his vase as well.

Now another girl moved her vase to be filled, and Amelia walked over to her desk now. She held her wand over the girl's vase. "Aguamenti."

Oh they were getting Flowers now. Noticing that he had two vase-like shapes on his desk he took the one that was just a larger version of a thimble and cast Reverto. It shrank back in size and Oakey set it aside. Placing his Unuasully shaped brown vase in the middle of his desk.

FireboltAvis88 02-18-2012 12:12 AM

My 4 vases are ready for filling xD

Alyssa was disappointed that she couldn't practice the Aguamenti spell but not everybody could do it, so she was more than happy to hand out the flowers. She got her vases ready to be filled up with water. She arranged them in order of which was transfigured first. one, two, three and and the last one.

Then she quickly went up to the Professor to gather the flowers that she would be helping to give out to the students.

natethegreat 02-18-2012 12:16 AM

Nate got really nervous when she filled it with water. He got so nervous that he covered hs eyes. When he heard her leave, he took a peak. He saw a bit of water dripping out of the vase. He didn't know what to do. He wasn't sure wheter to ask the teacher or just try again. He didn't want to do anything that would cause it to be worse. He took out his wand again, but then he remembered he didn't know the spell to fix objects. He looked and saw Allysa. He whispered to her "What should I d if my vase is leaking out water. Should I try to fix it or just let it go." Nate was getting really nervous so he put his wand away again. He looked at the vase very carefully. He was wondering hw he could even fix it. He got really nervous.

Vickers stood from his seat just as the Professor was giving out the next set of instructions. Nodding his head, the Ravenclaw looked around at the students who were ready with their vase for testing. He noticed the Hufflepuff boy set his vase in the middle of his desk. And was a vase it was

"Nice vase." he commented with a small smile. No he wasnt about to critique the vase, not when he himself conjure one that barely resembled something useful for their task. "Lets see how water tight that is eh?"

Vickers tipped his wand into the vase's opening and uttered "Aguamenti!" Soon enough a slushing sound started, with the Ravenclaw uttering " Finite" when the water has neared the brim. He lifted his wand away then angled his head "Now lets see if there are any leaks... "

Vlimia heard the proffesor tell them that their vases were going to be tested, so she had to think fast - which vase to choose? She did quite like her last vase, but her very first creation she lied a little bit more. "Reverto." She said, pointing her wand at the optical illusion vase first. Then she did the same to the water vase. Vlim put her favourite vase on display in the centre of her desk, and admired it. Now to wait for her turn... fingers crossed that the glass didn't leak or melt or something.

Oakey watched as the older Ravenclaw boy poured water into his vase. Thanks? he said sort of smiling unsure if he was joking or if he really did like Oakey's vase.

Oakey looked around it to see if it was spitting water out of the sides, above it to see if the water was lowering, and lifted the vase up slightly to see if there was a puddle forming underneath it. It's all good. He gave the Ravenclaw a thumbs up Thanks...uh? Oakey wanted to thank him for the help but didn't know his name.

He observed the vase as the young Hufflepuff did, then nodded his head when they arrived to the same conclusion "Yeah, good job. You can only get better from here." Like prettier vases. Something he himself can certainly work on.

"-- Vickers." he supplied when the boy trailed off "What's your name?"

waiting ^_^

She could have very well volunteered to help with filling vases, but instead, Stella had stayed quiet. Honestly, she hadn't been able to decide if she'd wanted to conjure up another vase, or stick with the one she'd already managed. There were still a few thimbles on her desk, after all, but it seemed they were moving on. The fact Professor Magnus had asked for volunteers seemed to mean that, at least. Not to mention plenty of others had raised their hands already. Therefore, all she had to do was make sure she was ready for her vase to be filled.

Scooping the stray thimbles up, she slipped those into her school bag before shifting the slender black vase to the center of her desk. Apparently her tiger from Charms was going to have more to play with right now, but she ignored the faint noises as she waited for one of the Aguamenti volunteers to notice her. At least she had something to test in the lesson, and she tried to think about other vase ideas while she waited. Odds were that was going to be part of their homework, anyhow.

Vickers. Thanks for the water Vicker's huh? That's a weird name, it must be short for something. Like Victoria....WAIT NO that's a girls name and he's obviously a boy! Oakey came back to when Victoria Vickers asked for his name. I'm Oakey he told the Ravenclaw with smile

Amelia nodded now before filling the first vase with water. When she was done she looked at all the other vases as well. "They're all so pretty." They really were. The people receiving them would be very lucky. "Here's hoping they all hold water!"

Now she headed over to Stella. She only really knew Stella because she dated Matt, but she gave her a smile still the same. She though Matt was very nice. "Aguamenti," she said as she stated to fill the vase.
