Aquamenti? They had used it alot of times in potions class and it was also a spell that Daichi could do. Maybe not at the first try and the jet he would make wasn't as strong as others but he could do it!

And he also wanted to volunteer once in class. In his three years at Hogwarts he had never done such a thing so he wanted to try something different...what could go wrong right? Eeeh.. better not talk about that! But at least it would be a good practise for him!

Slowly, as if he was not sure if he should do this, he raised his arm in the air. "Professor Magnus...can i volunteer too?" he asked and waited for an answer.

Anna Banana 02-17-2012 04:25 PM

Seeing as Sierra hadn't spoken up much during the start of the lesson, she figured she could at least volunteer now. Was she really trying to be Little Miss Helpful? Of course not! She was, as always, just in it for the extra credit. With a little grin on her face, she raised her hand and said, "I'll volunteer, Professor."

WhittyBitty 02-17-2012 05:12 PM

Amelia quickly raised her hand now. "I'll volunteer!"

Hmm. Isabelle surveyed the vase in front of her and chewed on her bottom lip. "What are you thinking about when you cast the spell?" she asked, putting her hands behind her back and turning her gaze to the girl. "It could be that you're paying too close attention to the thimble, rather than the image of what you want it to look like. Try thinking of something completely different and see how you get on."

Walking back to the front, Isabelle clapped her hands to get the classes attention. "All right everyone, I'd like to move on to the next part of the lesson. Those of you with more than one vase, please choose which you like the best and use that - the others can be reverted back and used for homework."

Clearing the board of the words on there, Issy added a new one instead - AGUAMENTI.

"We'll be using this charm to fill the vases and test them out for any imperfections." She gave a little knowing smile to everyone when she said that. Just because they looked good, didn't mean they'd hold water. "Now, we won't be learning it today, even though it could be classed as a transfiguration as well, considering it conjures water from your wand - no what I need is a few helpful volunteers that can already perform it to a standard that they are able to control the jets of water." No mess classroom, that was the aim. And would be nice.

Isabelle looked around at the older ones mainly. The younger students might know the spell, but controlling it was another matter entirely. "You'll be filling your classmates vases for them. Who would like to help, hands up please!"

OOC: I'll probably pick 3 or 4 people for this, and then you'll be able to interact with each other more when testing the vases. ;P

After his initial euphoria of creating a sensible vase has settled down, Vickers looked up as the Professor called for their attention. Ok pick a vase... well obviously he'll be choosing the not so hole-y one. As he set the plastic one aside and set the metal vase at the center of his desk the heard the Professor ask for volunteers. Using and controlling Aguamenti? Yeah he can do that easy "I think I can control it well enough Professor." he said raising his hand.

TakemetotheBurrow 02-17-2012 05:58 PM

Ella sat watching the older students volunteer. Though she had used the charm before in other classes she decided she didn't want to volunteer at risk of making a big mess. She pulled her rainbow vase in front of her and waited patiently for whoever was going to fill it up. She hoped that the water would hold.

FireboltAvis88 02-17-2012 08:09 PM

Although a few students had already volunteered, Alyssa raised her hand. "Uh... Professor I too would like to volunteer if you still need have need for more.

Alyssa had used this spell plenty of times in potions class and while she was working in the Greenhouses, so she was pretty confident that she wouldn't mess this one up.

Bazinga 02-17-2012 09:40 PM

Minerva shot her hand up she was younger, but she was good at the spell. "Professor I could help put water in vases."

magikewe 02-17-2012 09:57 PM

Lily sat quietly as the Professor continued with the class. She had successfully created a vase, but was unsure of imperfections in it. It was nice and blue and kinda slender so she wished to get somebody that knew how to control the spell otherwise it would be more difficult to get the water into the vase. She didn't volunteer herself, because she had not gotten nearly enough practice to know how to control the flow of water very well. At least she knew how to make a vase... that was hopefully waterproof.

She was volunteering to fill vases with jets of water? That suited Lilly. She'd never used the spell, but she could try anyway. It couldn't be that hard, saying the incantation and filling up a vase with water. She put the best vase away, of the two she'd done. One still looked very like a thimble.

Well that was quite a few volunteers to choose from. But Isabelle didn't need them all for this - however she didn't want to make them feel left out. Scanning the hands in the air she pointed in turn to four of them. "Mister Vanderbilt, Mister Katharos, Miss Greingoth and Miss Reinhart, I'd like you four to perform the task for me. The rest of you, thank you so much for volunteering. When it comes to handing out the flowers, Alyssa, Minerva and Lilly - that job shall be yours," she smiled. That way they'd have something to do as well.

"If you could all place your vases in the middle of your desks ready to be filled, the volunteers will come round and do that for you! Thank you." Isabelle gestured to the four she had chosen to go around and start the task. "Let's see how well they hold the water shall we?"

OOC: Just the four people chosen should be the ones performing the spell. You don't need to wait for one of them to mention you by name, although you can do - just put in the subject line that you're waiting etc. Everybody else should be checking to see how watertight their vases are. And they don't have to be perfect! That's all part of the fun. Feel free to interact with the four, and each other - as long as chat is only about the task at hand. Have fun. ;P

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand catching up since I was sleeping.... [ waiting for water :) ]

Okay. So she had been able to change the base material of her vase and not cause any sort of disaster...now to see if she could add a bit of color. Kurumi set her clear glass vase beside the other, and moved another thimble to the center of her desk. With even more fluidity than before, Kurumi drew small clockwise circles over it, moving back ever so slowly as she did. "Floreneo," she said with a renewed calmness. The transformation was much quicker this time, and if she had blinked she may have missed it. Now, her thimble was in the shape of a purple glass vase and was much more complicated than either of the two she had transfigured earlier.

Kurumi then lined up all three of her vases and looked at them, proud of the progress she had made this lesson - it helped that her focus and thoughts hadn't been wandering towards darker subjects as well.

Kurumi was just about to try on her fourth thimble when Professor Magnus moved the class along. Picking up the vase she had just transfigured, Kurumi set it to the side and waved her wand over the other two. "Reverto." Now back in thimble form, she set those back in the neat row of thimbles on her desk.

When Professor Magnus asked for volunteers, Kurumi offered her hand as well. "I feel confident performing the spell, professor," Kurumi said. She had used them in duels recently, so controlling it wouldn't be a problem for the fifth year. Only Kurumi had been a little slow on raising her hand. Oh well.

Lowering her hand, Kurumi arranged the things on her desk so that the purple vase was close to the edge, but not close enough to be knocked off or anything, and set all the thimbles off to the side.

natethegreat 02-17-2012 11:56 PM

Nate put his thible in the middle of the table and said "Floreneo." He had to do it again because he needed to practice the spell reverto to change it back. He then put his wand back into his wand holster. He then awaited for someone to come around to his desk and fill up his vase with water. He was getting nervous because what happens if the vase couldn't hold the water. What happens if it starts to leak and the whole thing broke. Would the professor yell at him for not doing the spell correctly. Or would the professor just make him try again and wait for someone to come around and refill his new vase with water. It was the longest moments of his life. Well at hogwarts it was the longest moments of his life. He had longer at his house.

Jen not sure if her vace in the middle of the desk. Not sure if her vace was correct she put it there anyways.

YAY! Amelia had been chosen to help fill the vases with water. She felt that she was rather good at controlling the water that came from her wand as a Seventh Year, so she wasn't in the least bit worried about messing this task up.

With a smile on her face, she got up from her seat and made her way over to where Kurumi was sitting. Pointing her wand to the vase on the girl's desk, she said "Aguamenti," making sure to stop the water at just the right moment. Then she headed over to the desk of a younger Hufflepuff boy and put some water in his vase as well.

Now another girl moved her vase to be filled, and Amelia walked over to her desk now. She held her wand over the girl's vase. "Aguamenti."

Oh they were getting Flowers now. Noticing that he had two vase-like shapes on his desk he took the one that was just a larger version of a thimble and cast Reverto. It shrank back in size and Oakey set it aside. Placing his Unuasully shaped brown vase in the middle of his desk.

FireboltAvis88 02-18-2012 12:12 AM

My 4 vases are ready for filling xD

Alyssa was disappointed that she couldn't practice the Aguamenti spell but not everybody could do it, so she was more than happy to hand out the flowers. She got her vases ready to be filled up with water. She arranged them in order of which was transfigured first. one, two, three and and the last one.

Then she quickly went up to the Professor to gather the flowers that she would be helping to give out to the students.

natethegreat 02-18-2012 12:16 AM

Nate got really nervous when she filled it with water. He got so nervous that he covered hs eyes. When he heard her leave, he took a peak. He saw a bit of water dripping out of the vase. He didn't know what to do. He wasn't sure wheter to ask the teacher or just try again. He didn't want to do anything that would cause it to be worse. He took out his wand again, but then he remembered he didn't know the spell to fix objects. He looked and saw Allysa. He whispered to her "What should I d if my vase is leaking out water. Should I try to fix it or just let it go." Nate was getting really nervous so he put his wand away again. He looked at the vase very carefully. He was wondering hw he could even fix it. He got really nervous.

Vickers stood from his seat just as the Professor was giving out the next set of instructions. Nodding his head, the Ravenclaw looked around at the students who were ready with their vase for testing. He noticed the Hufflepuff boy set his vase in the middle of his desk. And was a vase it was

"Nice vase." he commented with a small smile. No he wasnt about to critique the vase, not when he himself conjure one that barely resembled something useful for their task. "Lets see how water tight that is eh?"

Vickers tipped his wand into the vase's opening and uttered "Aguamenti!" Soon enough a slushing sound started, with the Ravenclaw uttering " Finite" when the water has neared the brim. He lifted his wand away then angled his head "Now lets see if there are any leaks... "

Vlimia heard the proffesor tell them that their vases were going to be tested, so she had to think fast - which vase to choose? She did quite like her last vase, but her very first creation she lied a little bit more. "Reverto." She said, pointing her wand at the optical illusion vase first. Then she did the same to the water vase. Vlim put her favourite vase on display in the centre of her desk, and admired it. Now to wait for her turn... fingers crossed that the glass didn't leak or melt or something.

Oakey watched as the older Ravenclaw boy poured water into his vase. Thanks? he said sort of smiling unsure if he was joking or if he really did like Oakey's vase.

Oakey looked around it to see if it was spitting water out of the sides, above it to see if the water was lowering, and lifted the vase up slightly to see if there was a puddle forming underneath it. It's all good. He gave the Ravenclaw a thumbs up Thanks...uh? Oakey wanted to thank him for the help but didn't know his name.

He observed the vase as the young Hufflepuff did, then nodded his head when they arrived to the same conclusion "Yeah, good job. You can only get better from here." Like prettier vases. Something he himself can certainly work on.

"-- Vickers." he supplied when the boy trailed off "What's your name?"

waiting ^_^

She could have very well volunteered to help with filling vases, but instead, Stella had stayed quiet. Honestly, she hadn't been able to decide if she'd wanted to conjure up another vase, or stick with the one she'd already managed. There were still a few thimbles on her desk, after all, but it seemed they were moving on. The fact Professor Magnus had asked for volunteers seemed to mean that, at least. Not to mention plenty of others had raised their hands already. Therefore, all she had to do was make sure she was ready for her vase to be filled.

Scooping the stray thimbles up, she slipped those into her school bag before shifting the slender black vase to the center of her desk. Apparently her tiger from Charms was going to have more to play with right now, but she ignored the faint noises as she waited for one of the Aguamenti volunteers to notice her. At least she had something to test in the lesson, and she tried to think about other vase ideas while she waited. Odds were that was going to be part of their homework, anyhow.

Vickers. Thanks for the water Vicker's huh? That's a weird name, it must be short for something. Like Victoria....WAIT NO that's a girls name and he's obviously a boy! Oakey came back to when Victoria Vickers asked for his name. I'm Oakey he told the Ravenclaw with smile

Amelia nodded now before filling the first vase with water. When she was done she looked at all the other vases as well. "They're all so pretty." They really were. The people receiving them would be very lucky. "Here's hoping they all hold water!"

Now she headed over to Stella. She only really knew Stella because she dated Matt, but she gave her a smile still the same. She though Matt was very nice. "Aguamenti," she said as she stated to fill the vase.

Kurumi smiled at the older Hufflepuff who filled her vase and was about to say thank you when....she walked off to fill another student's. Oh well. Attention back on her purple vase, Kurumi slowly turned it around to see if there was any leaking. Noticing none, Kurumi's posture relaxed a bit and she folded her hands on her desk. It was interesting how the water looked through glass, especially colored glass. It was so delicate looking, like liquid crystal or something.

She noticed Vickers walking by to help Oakey and she smiled at the Ravenclaw before returning her attention to her vase. The thought of actually starting flower arranging NOW in class dampened the Gryffindor's mood a little.

Oh, somebody to help so soon! And by the look of his robes, he was a fellow Ravenclaw! "Hi! I'm Vlimia! Yes, thanks." Vlimia said, watching the colours on the vase become slightly more pronounced as it filled with water. "Okay." She agreed, looking for any imperfections on the smooth vase. There were definitely no cracks, and it didn't seem like there were any leaks. She lifted it up slightly to see if there was any leaks on the bottom of the vase. Nope, all seemed to be good. "I think it's fine." Vlim confirmed, smiling at the fellow Ravvie. "Thank you... " She trailed off, not quite knowing the boy's name.

As soon as he uttered his name the Hufflepuff looked at him funny. Why?... hasnt he heard the name Vickers before? Granted it wasnt that common...

"Good to meet you Oakey." Now there was a curious name. "I think you're all set for the next task... I believe we're gonna be arranging flowers. Good luck!" Really he wished him well. Because goodness knows Vickers will need all the luck he can get save for mixing something down at the Potions lab.

"Hello Vlimia, I'm Vickers..." he said returning her introduction. "Your vase looks really pretty." he added, seeing the water refract the light, spreading slivers of rainbow colors around the desk. And looks like its leak free too "Ok.... I guess you're ready for the next step, your vase will go real well with any flowers the Professor has up there. "

He turned just in time to make eye contact with Kurumi. He smiled and gave her a thumbs up. Looks like her pretty vase was ready to go too.

Now she headed over to Stella. She only really knew Stella because she dated Matt, but she gave her a smile still the same. She though Matt was very nice. "Aguamenti," she said as she stated to fill the vase.

Alyssa waited as the older girl filled her vase with water. Then she peered closely at it hoping that she wouldn't see any water leaking out. After waiting a few minutes, and not seeing any, Alyssa smiled. "Guess my spell worked for this one. I hope that the others are the same too. I'll definitely have to test them out before I give them as gifts. Worse comes to worst, I can always revert them back to thimbles and transfigure them again. Thanks for helping to test out my vase for me."Alyssa thanked Amelia.

Now that her vase had been tested, Alyssa waited for the Professor to signal to them to come and collect the flowers, so that they could hand them out to the students.

Water please..

Minerva smiled when Professor Magnus said she could pass out flowers. Then Minerva looked down at her vase that she had made.
It didn't look like there were any places it would leak so she put her hand up for someone to fill it with water.

But yes, you never know." But Alyssa seemed to be a pretty good spell caster from what she had seen. "You're welcome!"

Amelia headed over to a young Hufflepuff girl now. "Wow, I like your vase!" It was simple, but it was a nice purple and purple was her favourite colour. "Hopefully it won't leak." She carefully used Aguamenti on it now.

Apparently Stella hadn't had to wait very long, as it only seemed like a few moments before Amelia had come over to her desk to fill her vase. She didn't know the Hufflepuff very well at all, but she still returned the smile as her vase got filled. "Thank you," she replied, before the other girl could get too far away. There was no reason not to stay polite, and besides, maybe they could actually meet later. She wasn't going to hurt any possible new friendships before they could really start. That just wasn't the way she was.

Speaking of that, as she leaned forward to inspect her vase for leaks, she sent a smile toward Vickers as he circled the room filling vases as well. He definitely seemed no worse for wear after they'd fought that snargaluff in Herbology, which she was happy to see. And her vase seemed solid enough, as well, so she sat back again to wait for the flowers. Those would add a lot more color to her arrangement, but at least the black of her vase would create a nice contrast. Nothing would clash, which she knew her mother would appreciate if she'd been able to see it.

Vlimia smiled at Vickers. That was quite a nice name. "Oh, thank you!" She said, admiring the little shafts of rainbow light that were reflected on her desk. "Yeah." Vlim laughed, thinking that maybe she could even get a bunch of flowers that had a few of each colour in it. That would go perfectly with her vase! Well, maybe not the green ones. Those flowers looked a little diseased. Or maybe it was just the fact that she had grown up hating green and Slytherin house.

Lily sat quietly as the volunteers made their way around the room. Out of the four, she only knew one because he happened to escort her back to the common room after her adventure quite a while back in an astronomy class. Lily took her very narrow, tall, navy vase and set it in the center of her desk, waiting patiently for it to be filled. After all she did want to find out whether or not it leaked anywhere.

This time she decided that she was not going to have a drawing when she attempted the vase. She wanted to try to make this vase red with gold swirls all around it. It would have a wide, circular base, and taper out need the top. The rim would be gold as well.

She held the image in her mind as she picked up another thimble and placed it in front of her. Pointing her wand downwards, she circled her wand three times clockwise, moving away from the desk. "Floreneo."

Now she had her pretty red and gold vase. :3

"Thanks." Jen said

Sierra gave the professor a little grin, which was really more of a smirk, and then stood from her seat. Dear Merlin! The other three volunteers had each taken about three or four a piece. At that rate, there wouldn't be anybody left to give water to unless Sierra got a move on. She frowned just a little but otherwise just got her wand at the ready and moved around the room.

Passing by a Ravenclaw girl, Sierra pointed her wand into the vase and said, "Aguamenti!" The water from water shot into the vase and filled it up. When there was enough water inside, Sierra added, "Finite," which ended the spell. She grinned at the girl then moved on.

"Does anybody else need water?" she asked.

Elise set her glass vase on the table, just noticing the faint blue swirls around it. Setting it to the front right corner of the table, she waited for one of the seniors to fill it with water.

Waving a little, she grinned at Sierra. If it wasn't obvious enough, her vase was empty.

Yikes! Tayla hadn't thought about that. She changed her unsuccessful clay vase back into a thimble and decided to use her first metal one instead. She picked it up and look through the top hole with one eye. "I hope it holds water..." Tayla thought to herself.

She set her vase in the middle of her desk and waited for an older student to come up and fill it with water. She realized one of the volunteers was the Ravenclaw student she had been curious about since the beginning of term. Tayla hoped it would be him who would come up to her desk.

Tayla (plus Stella)

Vickers was looking around for other students whose vase were ready for testing when his eyes rested on a dark, slim vase. He shifted his eyes and realized that Stella made it. He had to smile, it was simple but he liked it-- nice, clean lines. Something he was kinda going for but ended up with anything but.

Just as he turned towards another row of tables he saw another student put their vases forward for testing. Wow this one was made of metal, looking very much like it was sourced from a thimble. But hers looked great. "Hello there, I'm Vickers." yeah he was getting the hang of this whole socializing thing, even if its just a classroom setting "Thats great transfiguration work. So lets test it for leaks, make sure it could retain water and its shape right?" He tipped his wand into the opening and uttered "Aguamenti" hearing the water fill the narrow container. When he could see the water rippling close to the vase's mouth he quickly uttered "Finite!"

Tayla was glad when it was Vickers who came up to her table to fill her vase. "I'm Tayla," she replied with a smile. "And thanks!"

Tayla nodded and bit her lip as she watched the vase fill with water. So far so good. "Well...I think it's..." Tayla began, when suddenly she spotted something reddish-brown forming on top of the vase. She looked closer and could smell something oddly familiar.

"Rust!" Tayla said in shock. She looked through her vase and realized the inside was covered in rust. She dipped one of her thimbles into the water inside the vase. Then she took it out and splashed some water on the outside of the vase. A patch of red formed where the water had met it. "It rusts instantly when touched by water. Great..." Tayla sighed sadly. That definitely wouldn't do. "I better try again..." she muttered, her cheeks reddening.

Daydreamer11 02-18-2012 12:28 PM

May I have water please?

Alex looked at her lopsided vase and she wasn't exactly sure that it would hold water. While she was waiting she decided to practice with another thimble. She placed another one on her desk, determined to do better this time. Alex concentrated on her pink and green vase (straight this time), circled her wand and said, "Floreneo". "Better, that looks much better", she said. "Now will it hold water?"

MeredithRodneyMckay 02-18-2012 01:14 PM

Keep filling them up for now, so everyone gets a chance to be part of that bit. :)

With the four chosen ones going around the classroom and filling the vases, Isabelle had been following them to keep an eye out for any leakages or other problems. There didn't seem to be many, but a couple did catch her eye.

A metal one. Yes, rust could be a problem with those. Making her way over to the girl, Issy placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled. "Don't worry, that can happen with metal pots or vases. Usually, in the muggle world anyway, they treat them with something before they're water proof. Maybe try a different material, then one of the guys will fill it again for you..."

With that potentially sorted, it was on to the next one. And this was a leak problem. Overhearing the boy's question to Alyssa, Isabelle stepped in to answer. "I'll vanish it for you, and you can try again with another thimble. Then get it filled with water again. All right?" Flicking her wand out, a quick swish and the leaking vase had gone.

Setting aside the first two vases which didn't look like they would hold the water very well, Lewis moved the two more successfully transfigured thimble!vases to the middle of his desk. Even though he could've performed the spell himself too, the professor had chosen four people to do it for all of them so there he was waiting for somebody to fill his two vases with water. Even though, they looked to be a little oddly shaped, he was quite proud of how they'd turned out. They were...creative.

To make sure nobody would see his first few tries, Lewis quickly pointed his wand at the two vases to his right and said, "Reverto!" There, the timbles definitely looked better than those two half-finished vases. Picking the two timbles up he put one of them on his middle finger and one on his thumb. He then brought these two fingers together, hence causing the two metal thimbles to collide, producing a DING! sort of noise. DingDingDingDingDingDing!

Dear Merlin!

Sierra was starting to feel like a lowly house elf, which of course didn't sit well with her. She paused right in place and sort of closed her eyes, willing herself to think more about the points and less about the fact that she was literally serving people.

Catching the grin of the Ravenclaw she'd worked with in another class, Sierra passed by the girl's desk and pointed her wand into the vase. "Aguamenti," she said, and the water from her wand filled the vase. "Finite," she added, ending the spell.

She pointed her wand into the girl's vase. "Aguamenti!" Streams of water shot from her wand and into the vase. When it was filled, she ended the spell with "Finite!"

What was it with these Ravenclaws? Were there just more of them at the castle, or more that made the effort to come to class? Likely the second one...

She shrugged as she heard the girl's question. "Looks like it to me. Only one way to find out for sure," she said. Then she pointed her wand into the vase. "Aguamenti!" Water filled the vase, and Sierra kept her wand in place until she'd added enough of the water. "Finite," she finally said.

Idiotic Puffer. She hesitated for a moment, considering passing him up, but then she finally approached his vases and began the spell.

"Aguamenti!" she said. She filled both vases then ended the spell with "Finite."

Tayla looked up to see it was Professor Magnus whose hand was on her shoulder. Seeing her professor smile made her feel better. She nodded. "Thank you, Professor." Tayla returned her smile. Feeling more encouraged, Tayla took another thimble and pointed her wand at it. She could have emptied her rusty metal vase and reverted it back to a thimble, but she didn't know how to perform the Vanishing Spell yet to remove the water.

Keeping her eyes on the thimble, Tayla thought of a sturdy clay flower vase and focused on the picture in her head. She performed the wand movements as before and said the incantation. "Floreneo!" She watched as the thimble grew and changed into a nice clay vase, just like she had hoped. "Finally," she said softly and grinned. The vase didn't look all too fancy, but she thought it was pretty enough.

She studied the vase for holes, cracks, or anything that might hinder it from holding water. Seeing nothing, Tayla put the vase carefully back in the middle of her desk and waited for an older student to fill it with water.

She saw the Slytherin girl she had worked with at Herbology and stopped herself from being irritated. She could still remember the cut that Snargaluff's vine had given her... She avoided looking at Sierra and hoped it would be Vickers again who would approach her.

DingDingDingDingDingDi-

Lewis stopped clicking the two thimbles together, staring up at the Slytherin girl. Who was glaring at him. Big time. Okay, seriously, this one was pretty scary. And he didn't even know what he had done to deserve such a look. He could feel his heartbeat going up while he bit his lip quite hard, looking anywhere but the girl. Could he leave? Would they lose points if he ran out of class? Would it be worth it?

Glancing up just a little so he could see the two vases and the girl's wand, Lewis waited for her to cast the spell. Once she was done he really really really wanted to say thank you but somehow he couldn't. Not a single tone came out of his mouth even when he opened it and tried really hard.

Brilliant. Now she would think he was rude too.

Laura sat in her chair watching everyone else, she wasn't going to do this nope, this Professor would just tell her off for making a mess of it.

"Just put your vase in the middle of your desk. One of the older students will come by to fill it"

OOC: I'll probably pick 3 or 4 people for this, and then you'll be able to interact with each other more when testing the vases. ;P

Annabelle was really pleased she learned the spell. Now it was onto a tricky part of the lesson, filling the vase with water. She raised her hand and realized the teacher already had volunteers. Ah well better luck next time. At least the teacher knew she was trying.

Have fun. ;P

Annabelle put two of her vases in the center of the desk ready to be filled. She hoped that her vases wouldn't leak with the water inside them.

Finally! he saw someone that needed their vases filled with water also. The other students were working fast and most of them had already filled a few vases already!

Daichi walked up to the girl while taking out his wand, he pointed it in the first vase and bit his lip. Okay...concentrate. He thought to himself as he took a calming breath. "Aguamenti!" he said....and nothing happened.

"Eh sorry..." he apologized with a quick bow to the girl before trying again. "Aguamenti!" he said a bit louder and focused on the jet of water that was now flowing out of the wand. Soon the first vase was filled. "Finite" he added and the spell stopped.

Second one went a little better for he had the first one to practise. It filled the vase with water and soon voth vases were ready. "Here you go~" he said and smiled brightly.

He was REALLY getting good at this! ....had someone spiked his juice this morning so that he became better? O__o

Lily watched as a Slytherin came over and filled her vase. "Thank you." Lily said to the girl though the slytherin was already off to the next person...At least she smiled at me and filled my vase... Lily thought as she watched her vase. It seemed like it was holding the water pretty well, until a very tiny hole appeared near the top of the vase. It was hardly even big enough to allow water to come out, though Lily could see a few drops leaking out of the side. "I think it will be fine..." she said to no one in particular. After all, the easiest way to fix it was to not fill it so much and no more water would leak. Lily was pleased with how well it came out, even with a little hole.

Waiting for water ^_^

Once the thimble had reverted back to its original size, Vashti took a deep breath to help herself focus and imagined it changing into a a simple blue vase. She kept that image in her mind as she carefully tried the wand movement once again and said, "Floreneo." Slowly, as her wand circled it, the thimble grew and changed its color. It went from silver to blue, from small to big, until it finally took the shape of a tall, bright blue vase. Vashti picked it up with her left hand to examine it for any holes and found none in any place they shouldn't be. Thank Merlin!

She set her vase back down on her desk and waited for one of the students who would fill it with water.

After filling the two vases of the Hufflepuff, Daichi looked around for someone else who was done transfigurating their thimbles and his eyes caught the attention of a Ravenclaw.

He walked towards her, wand at the ready and smiled. Yet it faded a little when he saw her badge on her robe. Head Girl? O_o

His phoenix feather wand was trembling a little in his hand as he took a deep breath for the nth time this lesson. He didn't want to mess up in front of a Head Girl! Nodding to himself, the Slytherin pointed his wand at her vase. "Aguamenti!" he shouted and focused on his concentration. The jet of water came out slowly due to nerves and it took a little while for it to fill the vase.

But after some seconds the vase was ready and he stopped the spell with a simple "Finite" Smiling broadly, more to himself than the girl, he bowed and turned to find the next person.

Just when he thought the Gryffindor's vase had passed with flying colors he did see the rust she had pointed out-- and saw it spread whenever water droplets had touched it. "Oh no... looks like you're gonna have to redo your vase, think of making it rustproof or another material altogether." Which come to think of it, he has to test his vase for rusts too.

He listened to the Professor and started wondering if maybe he should redo his vase too, but he pushed those thoughts aside when Tayla conjured another vase "Very nice...." he whispered. Then he uttered "Aguamenti" into the earthen jar, hearing the water swish around the bottom as it gradually rose to the vase's top. When he could see the water nearing the brim he quickly uttered "Finite!"

Minerva, Alyssa & Lilly - your turn!

OOC: Those of you with filled vases, that are watertight, can now take your flowers when presented with them, and start arranging how you want them (ask for them in your title bar). Anyone that has yet to have their vase filled, add THAT in the title of your post and one of the 4 will get to it for you. ^____^

Isabelle grinned broadly as nearly all the students had their vases filled. No more seemed to be leaking either, so that was all good. She pulled the buckets of flowers forward on her desk, before turning around and looking for the three people that had volunteered earlier. "Minerva, Alyssa and Lilly - if you wouldn't mind taking a bucket each and letting everyone take which ever flowers they want for their display."

She held a bucket in each hand for them to come up and take. "Just so you all know I thought we could show some school pride here with your arrangements, as we're celebrating an anniversary this term, so try and mix up the colours a bit, don't just stick to your house colours," Issy winked at them all. And once they were all done she was going to brighten the classroom, her office and they could take some for their common rooms. But she's tell them that later.

With four buckets though, she would walk around to help out, too. "Who is ready to take some flowers? Some people will need more than others, it seems," she said, looking at a few of the thinner vases.

Alyssa quickly walked up and took a bucket of flowers from the Professor. There was a full array of colorful flowers and she wondered whether she would have some nice ones left over once she once done handing out the flowers to the rest of the students, so that she could put some in her vase.

As she walked among the students, Alyssa called out."Who wants some flowers. Come and get them."

Fudgesicle.

Kurumi reached for her bag on the floor and began to rummage through it looking for, hopefully[/s] her surgical mask that she often used for Herbology lessons. Yes, there was the potion from Potions class that could easily fix all this, but Kurumi was hesitant around using such things for a quick fix. It took a few minutes, and her emptying the contents of her bag that included several more quills and some cookie cutters, but she eventually found her mask and put it on. The giant bow on the side of her head sort of fell a bit and the magenta spot made itself more noticeable to the eye - not that anyone would be purposely looking at the side of Kurumi's head, so chances were it would go unnoticed.

Turning her purple vase around again to make sure that there were in fact no holes or anything in it, Kurumi sat back in her seat wondering just what sort of arrangement to do. Kurumi wasn't entirely used to arranging flowers in a vase as her mother had taught her how to arrange them using molds. Whenever vases were involved, the amount of flowers used hadn't been many and if there had been the flowers had been very delicate, like baby's breath.

Thinking some more, Kurumi waited for the flowers to come around.

Sorry for the late post. Flowers please. With some new water.

"Ok thanks professor." Nate then put another thimble in the middle of the desk. He took out his wand, pointed it at the thimble and said "Floreneo." Then the new thimble turned into a vase. He then looked around and saw that they were passing out flowers now. He wondered if he should put the water in himself or just let someone handing out flowers do it. Again he wasn't sure what to do. He would just let someone handing out flowers do it because he is a first year and can't control the jets of water yet. So he looked around and waited for someone to come over and give him some flowers and add the water into his vase.

^_^ Water please

Anya looked at her lip vase. She hoped she'd managed to make it watertight. But... she did manage to give it an odd pattern... so, her hopes weren't too high.

Which was a shame. She was actually growing to really like her kissy lip patterned vase.

She looked around and smiled waiting for one of the older students to test it out for her.

"Yeh I could do that." Nate replied while looking at all the flowers. He then saw the one that he wanted. It was a white rose. It was his mothers favorite type of flower. It seemed that a little Hufflepuff was practising the spell they had learned on a new thimble as Daichi passed him. He stopped and waited to watch him and when the thimble turned in to a vase he clapped. "Awesome~" he said as he stepped towards his desk.

Now it was his turn to fill the vase with water. Pointing his wand at the vase , the third year said "Aguamenti" and a slightly stronger jet than before flowed out of the wand. Grinning to himself, he stopped with "Finite" and slided the vase to the young Hufflepuff. "Here you go~" he said with a smile before hopping off to a new person.

The Slytherin smiled at the younger looking girl as he walked to her desk and saw her vase. Pointing his wand at the vase, Daichi concentrated on the spell and yet again said "Aguamenti!" The flow of water came out of the wand and he waited for it to fill the vase.

He held his breath as the vase had water in it and he stared at it, almost transfixed. Was it going to break or...not? WAIT! He had forgotten to stop the spell! Daichi panicked a little ..okay a lot as he looked at the water overflowing the vase and streamed on the desk. "Finite!" he said and the jet stopped. phew... "ehm.. sorry about that" he apologized with a biiiiiiig bow as his cheeks flashed in embarrassment.

Amelia stopped moving around the room for a moment as she listened to Professor Magnus address the class. She nodded and then looked around the room again. She saw one younger girl waiting for her vase to be filled. But before she could fill her vase someone else was doing it. Oh well...

natethegreat 02-19-2012 12:52 AM

He said to the person who filled his vase with water "Thanks." Then he picked up the white rose. Ow!!!! He got a thorn in his finger. He dropped the rose right when that happened. He looked at the thorn. He then pulled it out. Yep. Like he knew it, there was blood. He then took out his bandana and tied it around his finger to keep it from bleeding. He then simply picked up the rose again. He checked to see were he was picking it up first. He then put it inside the vase filled with water that was thankfully not leaking this time.

Putting her gloves on, Kurumi inspected the bucket of flowers before making her selection. One yellow rose, two green ones, three blue ones, and then five red ones. Setting each of them down gently on the table, Kurumi's gaze went back to her vase and she tried to think about how to accomplish the vision of what had just appeared in her head with the real thing.

"Thank you, Alyssa," she said with a small smile as her gloved hands attempted to play with her hair - and failed because they were far too bulky to do so right now. When she heard someone shout OUCH, Kurumi's head spun around and she looked at the boy. "Don't forget to put your gloves on," Kurumi said. That had been the reason why they had been asked to bring them, right?

In fact...

"Don't forget your gloves, everyone," she called out before returning her attention to her flowers once more. Hopefully everyone had brought their just in case...

After he made sure Tayla was good to go with her new vase Vickers went back to his desk to test his own vase. The rust incident with Tayla's vase worried him for his own creation, and given that the Professor gave the signal that they can start placing the flowers in he sure didnt want those ruined by rust.

He looked at his metal vase and filled it up with water with his wand. It didnt even need to fill halfway when he could see the rust creeping up along the inside walls.

He gritted his teeth dissapointedly. He set the vase aside and took another thimble, fiercely focusing to produce a much better vase then uttered "Floreneo!" with the correct wand movement. This time a colorful ceramic vase appeared.

Whoahh.... the things he could do if he focuses enough.

He filled the vase with water and watched for anything that can go wrong. After a minute or so no leak, cracks or anything disastrous has happened to his vase. It just sat there, nice and pretty and water-filled.

He raised his hand at any of the flowers girls, indicating that his vase was ready.

Oakey waited patiently with his less than stellar vase filled with water now. He lost himself in thought trying to think what "Vickers" could possible be short for...that was a guys name. Vincent, or Victor, there weren't that many.

Could it be foreign? Where was he from? Did he have an accent? WHY WAS OAKEY BOTHERING WITH SUCH TRIVIAL THINGS LIKE A NAME!?!?

She shrugged as she heard the girl's question. "Looks like it to me. Only one way to find out for sure," she said. Then she pointed her wand into the vase. "Aguamenti!" Water filled the vase, and Sierra kept her wand in place until she'd added enough of the water. "Finite,"

"Thank you," Alex said to the older girl who had filled her vase. It looked like it would hold the water after all. She was really glad about that. Now all she had to do was wait for some flowers.

Flowers, please. :3

Since there was nothing left for Amelia to do now, she headed back to her desk now. She needed to pick one of her three vases to test, and she decided on the second one she had created. The one that was glass with purple and yellow flowers.

She reverted the other vases into thimbles again and then filled her vase with water making sure to stop at the right amount. Then she looked at her vase carefully. There were no cracks. Awesome!

She raised her hand now, indication to any of the girls handing out flowers that she needed some.

Could it be foreign? Where was he from? Did he have an accent? WHY WAS OAKEY BOTHERING WITH SUCH TRIVIAL THINGS LIKE A NAME!?!?

She reverted the other vases into thimbles again and then filled her vase with water making sure to stop at the right amount. Then she looked at her vase carefully. There were no cracks. Awesome!

She raised her hand now, indication to any of the girls handing out flowers that she needed some.

"Here I am. I'm sorry that I took so long to get to all of you. Here you are. Take your pick. I still have plenty of flowers here for all you. Be careful though. Some of them do have thorns." Alyssa reminded everyone as she presented the basket for them to select them.

Minerva smiled "Doesn't look like it's leaking so I think I lucked out."

Minerva placed her gloves on so she could handle the flowers. She walked to the front to grab them and help pass out, but it seemed that Alyssa was taking over the room. So she looked around to see if there was anyone that needed flowers that Alyssa hadn't rushed over to yet.

"Thanks, Vickers," Tayla said as he filled her flower vase with water. She waited a while to see if it would start leaking or something else would form. Algae maybe. "Ick..." Tayla brushed the thought away.

She studied her vase closely. Nothing seemed to be wrong with it this time. "I think it's good," Tayla said happily. "Thanks again, Vickers! See you around." She smiled at the Ravenclaw.

Catching up and Waiting for Water

Since he had already reverted his first attempt back to its original thimble form, Gideon obviously now had to quickly try again to move on as the professor mentioned the next step. He silently berated himself for being so quickly to get rid of his work. No matter, he just needed to do it over, the 5th year taking his second thimble and focusing on it as he visualized a possible outcome and ran the spell over and over in his mind.

Floreneo...Floreneo...Floreneo...Floreneo...Floren eo

"Floreneo," he finally spoke aloud, casting the spell on the thimble as he moved his wand through the movements. Point and slowly circle. Gideon then watched as the spell took hold and the object grew until it became quite different from its starting point. Looking over the vase that now stood on the table before him, the 5th year couldn't help but be reminded of the clown lesson from the previous term. Maybe thats where his inspiration had come from.

Now to wait for water.

FireboltAvis88 02-19-2012 04:49 AM

Now that the other volunteers are online, please post Alyssa if you want flowers.

Alyssa realized that Minerva was now starting to give out her flowers as instructed, so she decided that it was okay for her to slow down now and let her and the other volunteer give out what they had. As she waited for someone to ask for flowers, she decided to pick out two white colored, two blue colored and two yellow colored flowers. Unfortunately, she didn't have any red ones left in her basket, but figured that she had more than enough flowers to fill her vase. She delicately pulled them out from the bunch and arranged them in her vase, before waiting to see who wanted more flowers.

Amelia smiled as Alyssa came around with flowers for her to use. "Thank you," she said as she looked at the different flowers available. She carefully picked some yellow and purple ones to match her vase. She wasn't really picky about the types, so she chose different ones. And she made sure that she didn't get pricked by thorns.

When she had her flowers, she started arranging them in the vase.

Amelia nodded as the girl said that she lucked out. "Very good job. I'd like a vase like that." She nodded. Not that she'd do a vase like that herself of course because that was like copying... but duh. A purple vase would have been awesome.

Well, just one more for now it seemed. Sierra turned on her heels, happy to leave the bell-ringing Puffer, and approached someone else with an empty vase. "Aguamenti!" she said. She watched as the water filled the vase. "Finite," she finally said.
"Thanks,'' Jory said to the Slytherin girl who had filled up his vase. He was please to see that his vase was okay and had no leaks or cracks after he'd carefully examined it.

Jory spotted Alyssa was not far from his table, letting Amelia choose her flowers. "Hey, Alyssa,'' he called "I need some flowers please.''

Annabelle said "Thank you very much" very nicely to the boy in her class. She was glad she got a helper. She realized her vases were holding the water and there were no cracks! "Yes i did the spell right!" she said happily to herself and couldn't stop smiling.

I know we don't have to...but I was bored and made an edit of the arrangement xD

Now with her flowers on the table, Kurumi began to place a red rose into the vase when she remembered something important about placing flowers in a vase for the first time. Pointing her wand at each stem, Kurumi cast a Severing Charm on them to snip the stems at an angle so that each had a greater surface area exposed so more water and nutrients could be sucked up. Once this was done, Kurumi returned her attention to the first red rose she had picked up and placed it towards the back of the vase, holding it in place with her left hand while she reached for another red one with her right.

When she had a back row of red flowers, Kurumi reached for the blue roses next and added a row of them as well. Green roses followed and framed the single yellow rose in front. Leaning back to look at her work, Kurumi rather wished that she hadn't transfigured a purple glass vase as that color contrasted greatly with the colors of the roses. Kurumi set her arrangement on her desk and looked up at Professor Magnus before slowly raising her hand.

"Professor...what should we do when we are done with our arrangement?"

flowers please (and I might take a bit to respond)

Positive that her slim black vase was completely watertight, Stella took another of the thimbles out of her bag just to give herself something to do while everyone else was getting their own vases filled. At least playing with the thimble kept her from going back to other things. Or getting distracted again by the charmed animal figurine in her bag, although she did get gently swiped at when she'd tried to retrieve the thimble. No damage was done, so she went back to waiting for the lesson to continue.

She'd looked up as Professor Magnus had spoken about how some people weren't going to need as many flowers as others, feeling a bit like she was one of those being talked about. It was true, but she hoped that there wasn't a problem with her having a slim vase. "I need some flowers," she said, raising her hand slightly. Maybe just one or two, but she'd decide once someone had noticed her and she could really get a look at her options. Plus, she needed to get her gloves on just in case, so waiting a few minutes might be better.

Vickers gave Alyssa a small smile as she neared him "Thanks Alyssa" he uttered as he took a few stems of each kind of flower with his gloved hand. He wasnt that great with flower arranging, unless lining them up according to color and classification can pass for that, so he knew he needed as much choices as he could get his hands on and hope he could come up with something decent.

With two of the girls already off distributing some of the flowers, Isabelle followed suit. If the kids didn't take too many each there should have been plenty for everyone to make something pretty with.

But it seemed some only wanted one flower. "Nate, surely you want a couple more than that? Here, take some from my bucket," Issy smiled as she approached the desk of the young Hufflepuff. Flicking her wand out, she rested the weight of the bucket on the desk and pointed said wand into the boy's vase. Filling it half way with water, she smiled at him as she waited for him to choose some flowers.

Someone was finished already? Well now, that was quick. Maybe it was just her that could never quite get flowers right when she was putting them in vases. Kurumi certainly seemed to have done a fabulous job.

"Very nice, Miss Hollingberry. I like that you've used all the house colours." That was after all, part of what she wanted. Unity. "If you're sure you've finished, please go and place it on display on my desk. Then you can continue practising with your thimbles until the end of the lesson, if you wish."

Flowers needed!

Isabelle turned her head at hearing that piece of news. Seeing a Ravenclaw with her hand in the air, she gave Kurumi a smile before moving off with her bucket.

"Here we go, Miss Gardiner, take what you think you need." And that reminded her of something. Something she had to remind THEM of. "Also guys, please remember to use your gloves," she knew Kurumi had mentioned it, but always best to emphasis it. "Don't want any of you pricking yourselves badly. It's not pleasant."

natethegreat 02-19-2012 05:17 PM

Nate then heard what Kurumi said and that would be a smart idea. So he then put on his gloves. He needed more flowers. He had the perfect arrangement in his head. He would have 1 yellow daisy for hufflepuff. And one meaning there in the lead. 2 bluebells for blue being ravenclaw, and there in second place for 2. 3 green orchids for slytherin, and 3 because there in third. Sorry gryffyndor but 4 red roses for gryffyndor and there in fourth. With the white rose for his mom. Hopefully the professor would get what he is trying to do. Then he saw the professor offering him some from his bucket. He then took out the flowers that he wanted and put them in the arrangement he wanted them to be in. He then said "Thanks professor."

ooc: I know it's not the exact amount that I said, but it was the closest one I could find.

Lily now had a vase, a blue vase.... that held water. She had little designs along the vase, but she wasn't sure what they were supposed to look like. Lily smiled as she looked at her vase. It was nice and she felt that she had done a good job. Now all she needed was flowers to make the vase complete. So Lily raised her hand to signal that she needed flowers, and then proceeded to put on her herbology gloves so that she wouldn't hurt herself as she picked up roses. Now to wait until someone got the chance to bring over flowers.

Ella sat patiently, waiting to see if her vase would hold water. She was anxious to get to the flower arranging part of the lesson but that wouldn't work if her vase was all leaky. She drummed her fingers on her desk absent mindedly while she waited.

As Sierra looked around the room to see if anyone else needed any water in their vase, she happened to catch one of the Puffers looking up at her in a weird sort of way. Hmph. He hadn't even said thank you to her...and supposedly Puffers were meant to be the nice ones!

Whatever. 'Rude weirdo,' she thought to herself.

Sierra raised her hand. "I'm ready for the flowers," she said, walking to her desk. She pointed out her vase and started to take a seat when she noticed another student waiting for water. The Puffer could just fend for himself. The class was moving on, and Sierra needed to wait by her chair for some flowers. With that thought in mind, she slid into her seat, feeling only slightly guilty a moment later.

*sigh*

She rose from her chair, wand at the ready.

She walked a few rows over and approached the Puffer. Aiming her wand into the girl's vase, she said, "Aguamenti!" She held her wand steady while the jet of water filled the vase. "Finite," she finally said, ending the spell.

Lily waited until one of the helpers came around to give her flowers. As one came up to her and offered her flowers, Lily carefully took a few. Two blue ones for Ravenclaw, and one of each of the other colors. "Thank you!" Lily said looking at the Puff that was handing out flowers. Carefully, Lily placed the flowers in her vase, which didn't have much open space left once Lily had placed the roses as she wished. Once it was all set up, Lily took her gloves off and put the vase near the edge of her desk to see how it looked.

Ella looked around expectantly, wondering if she would get water at all. She was relieved when finally a girl approached, wand already out and ready to go. Wow, well that's efficient. She smiled nervously at the girl, noting that she didn't exactly seem pleased to have to come over and help Ella, and watched her fill the vase with water. "Thanks," she said when the girl had finished. Luckily, the vase didn't seem to be leaky and there was no puddle anywhere on her desk. That was a huge relief. Now she could get to the fun part, arranging the flowers.

Ella got out her gloves and pulled them on, not wanting to hurt her hands while handling the flowers. She raised her hand in the air and looked around, waiting for a flower delivery.

Alyssa was standing watching as the other volunteers handed out the flowers but then she noticed two students who had been waiting awhile. It was Sierra and Ella. So she quickly walked up to them and offered them the flowers in her basket. "Here you are. I'm sorry that I didn't see your hands up earlier. I don't have much of a selection left, but you can take what you want from my basket and if you want more you can always get them from the others with the baskets. Mind the thorns now."Alyssa reminded Sierra and Ella. She definitely didn't want either of them to prick their fingers.

"Thank you", Alex said to the kind Hufflepuff girl who brought her flowers. She decided to take two of each color flower. Alex then set about arranging them nicely in her vase. After several tries, she was finally satisfied with the result.

Thanks Alyssa. He put the gloves on his hand and inspected what flowers she had to give. Not much left of the red ones? He said smiling as he took one color flower of each of the ones she had left. I'll see if anybody else has more for me.

eeeeh... this one seemed...hmmm.. interesting.

Anya eyed her vase as the Slytherin boy filled it up. So far so good. She watched as the water lever rose...

...and rose...

...and then overflowed!

Eek! There was water all over her desk now!

"It's not problem." she said quickly moving her notes out of the way. She didn't want those to get wet.

She then turned her attention back to her vase. "It worked!" she squealed. She was half tempted to climb over her best and give the green boy a hug.

But she resisted. She needed to clean up her desk first.

While Anya was silently celebrating her watertight victory when she noticed another student pass. She gave her an appreciative smile. Her vase was already full though. Along with most of her desk.

Annabelle realized she needed some flowers to go into her vase. "Um professor i need some flowers to go into my vase please?" she asked sweetly.

Amelia started to arrange her flowers in her vase now. She hummed a song to herself while she did it. She was singing to Adele, because she loved Adele. If anyone had a problem with her humming, it was too bad for them. :33

Now her vase was full of a variety of different flower types, but they all had either purple or yellow flowers. Because those colours were both amazing. When she was finished her arrangement, she went and put it on display. Everyone would know that those were her flowers. :D

Once back at her desk, she picked up another thimble so that she could make some more vases.
