Violet quickly walked to the professor's desk so that she can get a good view of the photo. She was very petite for her size and didn't want to be blocked by the many older years who were already by the desk. |
Kennedy nodded, trying to ignore what his face was doing. He stood up and took his picture with him and hid it inside his robes. The picture his mom had sent him wasn't one that he would have picked, but his mom being a MOM, picked out the "cutest" one she found. He completely disagreed with that. After pushing in his chair, so no one would trip with it, he made his way to Professor Magnus' desk. |

She looked at the board when Professor Magnus wrote the relevant words that related to the incantation and copied it on her own parchment. And given the explanation of the Professor that she needed the piece of paper and the photo laid flat, Beezus followed the instruction that they need to gather around her desk. She stood up, arranged her things a bit and walked to the Professor's desk. Now for the demo. |
Jezzabelle moved to gather around the professor. She was curious really to see what would happen to the photo she had chosen. |
It had taken him some time to get the hang of the spell that the Professor had taught the class. Having thought that he had cast it perfectly he left the picture frame on his desk. As he got up and left to see what the Professor was about to demonstrate his picture frame began to inch it's way off his desk like an inchworm, and onto the floor. |
After the professor finished talking, Glenn hastily performed the spell again, this time; it was successful. Her pretty wooden frame lay on her desk next to her photo. She walked up to the desk and stood on her toes, trying to see over the older students heads. With no luck she settled for a gap in the crowd and strained her eyes to see what the professor was going to demonstrate with the picture and frame. |
Ira hadn't known that Statua also meant image. Well, that explained the spell words. She dutifully copied down the notes on a parchment. Then, eager to see what happened next, she stood along-with the rest of the class and proceeded to the front. She walked to the front desk where professor was and stood directly opposite to him, albeit on tip-toes. But she could comfortably see the center of the table. She fished out her own photograph and waited for the lesson to proceed. |
Eino copied the notes on the board unto his parchment, then waited as Professor Magnus continued to speak. When she asked for someone's assistance, or at least, for their photo, Eino moved closer to her desk, giving younger and shorter students the chance to stand in front of him first, otherwise they wouldn't be able to see. Once all of the heads he could see the backs of were lined up eagerly waiting for the transfiguration show, Eino joined them with utmost attention. His photo was very important to him because of the memories it brought back, so he really did not want to mess it up with this spell. |
Desiree quickly copied down the short notes onto her paper, before getting up to gather around the professor's desk, her own photo in hand. She got a fairly decent spot.. she could see the Professor, but just barely. Sometimes being small had its disadvantages. Looking over some Ravenclaw's shoulder, she waited for Professor Magnus to demonstrate whatever it was they were going to be doing with the photos, changing their size maybe? |
And Eino too xD SPOILER!!: Professor Magnus Messer quickly copied the notes in the blackboard onto his notebook. When he finished, he stood up and walked toward the Professor desk but unfortunately for him most of the students already standing in front of him leaving him behind. How he supposed to see what's going on there if they were blocking his view. Then he saw the Ravenclaw prefect giving him |

Seeing as several pictures had already been offered up, Kurumi left hers on her desk and made sure that her frame was far enough from the edge so that it wouldn't fall off in her absence. Tugging on her sweater, Kurumi walked over to where the crowd of students was gathering and stood on her tip toes near the back while she waited for the demonstration to happen. |
Since many, many students had offered Proffeser Magnus their Photo's she thought it'd be best to leave her's, so she wiggled in and watched for Proffeser Magnus'es next move! |
I don't know what you're talking about, Professor MAGNUS!!! *whistles* (I fail.xD) Text Cut: Isabelle (heh, look, I cheated. xD). Oh. Right. Lewis went to write that down right away, to make sure he'd remember it next time. Not that he thought that there was a next time he would need to know where the name of the spell derived from but you know. His OWLs maybe or something. Either way, he just felt the need to write it down. Okay, now they were going to be working with those photos they'd had to bring. Lewis got up from his seat when she told them to gather around her desk. CLATTER! He looked down in surprise upon hearing that noise and found himself staring at the frame which had still been in his lap. Oh, right that. Hoping nobody had noticed anything he quickly knelt down next to it - and under the desk - and pointed his wand at it. "Reverto!" He muttered as quietly as he could without making the spell not work. Glad to see the frame had changed back to a piece of paper, Lewis picked it up and put it back onto his desk. Now...he was quite late to walk up to the front. Almost everybody else had already gathered around the professor's desk. Slowly, Lewis made his way to the front as well and tried to get a good look at the desk. Which was almost impossible with all those other people in front of him. His eyes flickered to one of the vacated chairs for a moment. But no, then he would stand out too much. He didn't like that. So, tip-toes it was going to be. Sigh. |
As soon as the Professor asked for a picture, Gwen glimpsed back at hears. It was the picture she took in the summer holiday, when she visited her bestie, Ari. A smirk appeared on her face as soon as she remembered what a good time they had. Oh, well- I’d better create a nice picture frame for this one… it definitely deserves the best. *smirk* Noticing that everyone kept volunteering, Gwendolyn didn’t even mind trying. She wasn’t the first one, so there was no point in this, anyway. The third year stood up and joined the group already formed round the Professor. |
Harvey took his photo with him.. he didnt want to leave it behind as he followed the others to the demonstration that was about to happen. He wanted to watch what the professor was about to do.. this was exciting he couldnt wait to see the demonstration. |
Well, one thing was for sure--Sierra wasn't going to volunteer for her picture to be used. It was very personal to her, and although it just showed a group of people, she still didn't want it displayed for the entire class to see. So with her picture clutched in her hand, she made her way to the desk where the professor would do a demonstration. She pushed her way into an empty space that she'd at least be able to properly see from. The she stood there, still holding her picture, while she waited for something to happen. |
As I don't have a photo to edit in PS, let's pretend it's actually IN the frame. ;) Quote:
Isabelle gently took the picture from the Ravenclaw and placed it on top of the paper on her desk. Looking around at the assembled kids, she craned her neck to make sure they all had a good enough view. "Everyone can see, yes? Good. Right. The aim of this is to perform the spell and encase your photo within the frame itself, rather than just make the frame and put the photo in it. This does require the target object to be flat, though." Smoothing out the paper and picture, Isabelle took her wand out and aimed towards it. "It won't in any way damage the photo, and you can simply revert the frame back to it's previous state to remove it. But it does require ALOT more concentration and focus from you, and your wand needs to be in contact with the paper when doing the square movement." Another quick look to make sure they were all paying attention, and Isabelle was ready to demonstrate. Touching the paper gently with the tip of her wand, she drew a square around all four edges, while saying the incantation, "Statua Habitum." Almost immediately the paper began to expand upwards and change colour to a goldish hue, similar to the one Issy had produced in her first demonstration. As the edges became about an inch think they started to spread inwards, and glass completely covered the photo. After what was really only a few seconds, but seemed longer, the frame was complete with the picture in the middle. Picking it up off the desk, Isabelle held it up for them all to see. "There we go. Now, the picture is not a part of the frame, merely the frame grew up around it. Does anyone have any questions before I send you off to practice?" |
She looked at the picture pretty much perfect well she would be expecting that from a teacher... Looked easy enough! ''No further questions proffeser,'' she muttered more to herself then Proffeser Magnus... |
Ella's eyes grew wide. She was amazed at how the frame grew around the picture perfectly. That was really neat. She looked up at the professor in awe, "Nope, no questions, professor." She smiled. |
Kurumi stood on her tip toes, trying to see what was going on but was having a hard time since she was rather far to the back. She did see Professor Magnus trace a square around the picture and perform the spell, but she couldn't really see the reaction due to someone's head being perfectly in the way. She rested her heels back on the ground and listened as Professor Magnus gave a little more explanation, nodding now and again in understanding. Questions? Nope. |
"Professor what happens if we accidently do the spell wrong?" Laura had been sat quiet until now, but seriously if the spell went wrong she didn't want to lose her photo, why couldn't the Professor have given out photo's they probably woudn't be important right, Professor only spend time shouting and taking points they didn't have a life outside of the school, so there photo's wouldn't be important. |
Wow that was pretty cool thought Hannah. She was excited and a bit nervous to try the spell out herself. "No questions here." she said. She was hoping to do well on her own. |
Louisa had walked to the front where Ellie Watching intently as professor Magnus turned the paper into a hugging beautiful frame. When she addressed the students again, Louisa's mouth was formed into a big smile. This was the best transfiguration spell EVER! SO COOL! Questions? Nope, please let us doooo eeeeeet. |
"No questions, ma'am!" Sophie said still staring at Professor Magnus nice work. That was pretty cool! |
grr catching up SPOILER!!: ze Prof Vickers could feel his face flush when the Professor returned his paper to him, mumbling a shy thanks as he took the paper for another try. He uttered the spell and the wand movement and managed to get the frame to form-- a paper frame. He scowled, well it was far better than letting something fly off his desk. Quietly taking his notes down during the discussion he stood along with the others when the Professor demonstrated how to do the real thing. He stood behind the edge of students, being able to see better at a distance. He was quietly relieved that the actual transfiguration would be done on the paper itself and not directly on the photo. He shook his head when the Professor asked if there were any question. He was more preoccupied in getting the spell right and not risk ruining something he held very dearly. |
"No questions from me either Professor," Jezzabelle said. She couldn't wait to see what would happen when she got the picture and the frame together. |
Maxwell had been quiet the entire lesson, merely paying attention. Transfiguration was his favorite lesson. He took the piece of paper on his desk and lied it in the middle of his desk. He took a deep breath, Pulled his wand from inside his robes pointed it at an edge on the paper and said as clearly as possible "Stat-UA HAB-itum!" while making a square around the paper...but nothing happened...nothing. Maxwell took a deep breath, this time very determined, he didn't like failing at something and this time with more authority he said "Stat-UA HAB-itum!" and went around the paper in a square and this time there was a black picture frame sitting on his desk. Maxwell smiled pridefully and waited patiently for Professor Magnus's next instruction. |
Justin moved up to where they had been told and stood next to Minnie. He was excited to see what it was they'd be doing with their pictures they had brought along. |
Selina watched in amazement as the picture that Professor Mangus had taken expanded and grew a frame. It was as if it was a plant or something because the frame simply sprouted from its original picture. How had she done that? Honestly, that was such a useful spell. Why was it that her parents went out and BOUGHT frames when they could just grow them? They were wizards were they not? Then again she did not understand half of the things her parents did. So when Mangus asked if they had any further questions Selina kept her mouth shut. No questions, just amazement. |

"Although if any of you are unsure about using your own photo's to start with, you can take an extra piece of paper and fold it up to mimic a picture. Then when you are more confident, switch over to the one you bought with you." Tapping the frame gently to reverse the process, Isabelle picked up the photo and handed it back to Ellie. "Thank you for that," she smiled. Stowing her wand again, she put the piece of paper that was once the frame onto a pile, ready for if they didn't yet trust themselves with their own pictures. "Now, make sure the paper is flat on your desk, and that the photo is placed directly in the middle of it - or the folded paper, depending on which you use first. Done correctly, the large paper will enclose the photo in the position you want it." Now, it was getting awfully crowded around her desk. "You may all return to your seats and give it a go! Remember what I've told you, and please do put your hand up if you need my help with anything." OOC: Just to clarify: It's the PAPER that expands and turns into the frame, not the photo. You just place that on top of the paper so it ends up in the frame. ;) Have fun! |
Text Cut: MeredithRodneyMcKay Sierra peered over at the professor, trying to get a good look at what was being demonstrated. Once, in all the commotion of an entire class gathered around one desk area, someone had the nerve to run into Sierra then step on her toe. She whirled around, ready to literally attack whoever had done it, but she couldn't pick out anyone in the crowd of people. You just let her figure out who it was... With her eyebrows knitted inward in annoyance, she watched the professor's demonstration. It seemed easy enough, and no, she didn't have any questions. At least not now. |
Nate walks back over to his seat. He sits down and lays the picture on top of the paper. He then says "Statua Habitum." But nothing happens. He tries again "Statua Habitum." Still nothing happens. He says it once again "Statua Habitum." Finally the paper turns into a picture frame and the photo gets put on the inside of it. "Whoa. That was awsome." |
Right cool thought Oakey, He was so sure of himself for having done the spell correctly the first time that he. Cheerfully went back to his desk...wait...wasn't his picture frame there when he left to see the Professor's demonstration...Umm Professor Magnus...My picture frame went missing? He turned back and looked at the professor with confusion in his face. |
Taylor went back to her seat. This is going to be interesting! She laid her photo on top of the paper. She went around it in a square, "Statua Habitum." Nothing happened so she sighed and repeated the motion as she said, "Statua Habitum" again. The paper turned into a frame and grew to encase the picture. Taylor smiled as glass crossed over the picture, protecting it. She smiled and admired her picture frame and picture. Taylor jsut loved the roses in the border of the frame. |

Deciding that it was better to practice before using the photo, she placed the blank piece of paper on the desk and folded another one so it had the size of the photo and placed it in the middle of the frame-to-be. Tracing a square with the tip of her wand on the edge of the paper, she muttered "Statua Habitum," and watched as it turned into the same frame from earlier, made of paper; not exactly what she was expecting. Trying to concentrate more, she said "Reverto" and placed the photo instead of the folded paper, telling herself that she could do it right. She traced another square and repeated "Statua Habitum," and this time, the paper turned into a pretty dark frame, with glass covering the photo. She did it! |
Victoria took a breath before proceeding on with the task. This spell did seem simple and easy, but is it as simple and easy and it looks? Victoria took several minutes to dig into her bag and search for her selected photo. She then placed a Halloween picture of her dog, Cookie, in Superwoman costume on the desk. Making sure that all the edges of the photo were flat, Victoria place her wand on her hand, ready for the incantation. "Statua Habitum," Victoria recited while tracing the sides of the photo. To her relief, it turned out as she had hoped, beautiful, golden frame. Well…Victoria doesn’t know if she can consider it beautiful. But it’s certainly smooth and shiny. She hoped that a plain, gold photo frame would be okay for the professor. Victoria had hoped it to be fancy and elegant. |
Minerva went back to her table to get started. She made sure the paper was centered the way she needed it. The she looked at the picture of her parents smiling at her. She smiled back at them and picked it up. She placed the picture in the center of the paper and with her wand made the square motion "Statua Habitum" she watched the paper fold over the picture into such a pretty frame. SPOILER!!: Minerva wanted to jump up and down with excitement at the frame. It looked so good with her parents picture. |
Alex headed back to his seat after watching the demonstration and pulled out the picture of himself and Cale's dog. Belle had apparently run off in the photo, and Photo-Alex was wandering around calling for him. Hehe. He was glad the REAL Belle wasn't that rambunctious. He wasn't an animal person, so he wasn't sure why the Photo-Alex was even trying to find her. After watching it in amusement for a few minutes, he placed the paper on the middle of his desk and placed the photo in the middle. "Statua Habitum," he muttered as he moved his wand around the frame in a square. He was still a bit too focused on the photo, apparently, since...only half the paper turned into a frame. Weird. Wrinkling his eyebrows, he picked up the framed part of the paper and found that it felt like rock or something, not like a normal picture frame. WHOOPS. He'd done SOMETHING wrong. As he held it between his fingers, the rock-frame suddenly burst into dust and disappeared, leaving him with only half a piece of paper and a bunch of dust on his picture. Yes, he hadn't concentrated NEARLY enough it seemed. Rolling his eyes with a sigh he pulled out his wand and cleaned up the dust before going up to the front to get another piece of paper. |
Hannah was ready to give this incantation a go. She placed the picture she brought of her herself and family on top of the paper. She picked up her wand and drew a square around the four edges while saying the incantation "Statua Habitum." She was surprised that it worked right away you could see the glass covering the gorgeous golden frame that she had just created. She had actually done it she thought with glee. |
Kennedy made sure to make mental notes of everything Professor Magnus had said. After witness the cool transfiguration he went back to his seat and wrote what he learned on his parchment. He took the second piece of paper and folded it to about the size that his picture was. He wouldn't DARE damage the picture his mom had sent him. She'd probably ground him for a month if he did. After placing the folded paper in the center of his first one, he said, "Statua Habitum," and did the wand movement as well. Right before his eyes there was a picture frame with a white center. Okay, so it seemed that Kennedy had the hang of it. Now, to try it on his actual photo. "Reverto," he said, transfiguring the frame back to paper. He took out his photo from his pocket and grinned at it. Really. Did his mom REALLY think this was the "cutest" picture. Well, he had to admit that for a three year old he made a great Superman. After centering the photo in the middle of the square he pointed his wand at it and traced a square in the air. "Statua Habitum!" he said. To his relief the picture frame was the same as the one from before. Success! Photos!: Picture Frame! |
SPOILER!!: Professor Zhenya watched in amazement as the Professor had turned the paper into a frame surrounding the photo. She went back to her desk, but was quite nervous about using her photo of her grandparents. It was incredibly important to her, but she trusted that she wouldn't mess it up too bad. She placed it in the middle of the paper and tried to focus as hard as she could. It was hard trying to focus on transfiguring the paper into a frame when she was looking at her grandparents. She just missed them so much. She just had to ign...ignore them just this once. She cleared her mind of everything, then went back to her task. Thinking of the intent, clearly, she got her wand out and traced a square around her paper, saying the incantation "Statua Habitum". It didn't work. Nothing happened. Something she wasn't doing right. Probably not focusing enough. She put her wand down and gave herself a little shake, and rolled her head. FOCUS! She tried again, focusing only on the incantation and the intent, and what she wanted the frame to look like. She just pictured it in a beautiful frame, traced a square on the paper and said "Statua Habitum". Before her eyes, the paper transformed itself into a frame surrounding the photo. It wasn't like her previous frame. This one looked very similar to one her grandmother had. It was ivory in colour, but wood in texture. It looked very old and antique. She almost cried with memories, and she was so proud that she had been able to do it. |
Laura couldn't believe she was even going to attempt to do this but well she knew that she would have to do it, she used the wand to draw a square around the photo and then said. "Statua Habitum." Laura looked at the paper and saw that it was doing something but she didn't think it was doing what it should it was half a frame, half still paper, raising her hand she asked the Professor. "Professor is this suppost to happen?" |
LuLu wandered back to her chair keeping the demonstration in mind like an ever lasting recording going on and on.. she stared at the non-crumpled paper, most unusuall in LuLu's case.. she folded another piece of paper which she had retrieved from her pocked and placed it on the parchment, on the desk she then picked up her wand that was left on the table and just practised the shape When she was done the amount of deternemation on her face was just weird "Statua Habitum," IT looked okay put to be fair it was pretty good for a first try even though it was a bit wonky at sides "Reverto," she took out the parchment and placed in her picture it was her and her best friend, Presley it was a nice picture above it all, a nice... memory THIS time she was more concentrated and of course more confident "Statua Habitum," she closed her eyes after she said the spell, then opened them quickly.. Being LuLu.. her frame had to stand out a bit so it was a hexagon kind of a shape and a gold frame, Possibly bland but she liked it and that was all that REALLY mattered … |
Ella walked back to her seat. She was seriously impressed with this magic and hoped that she could manage to make her frame grow around her picture like the professor had. She made sure her white paper was flat on her desk and placed her picture in the center. She smoothed her hands over everything just to be sure. She couldn't help but smile when she looked down and saw her family looking back at her. She missed them and she was sure they would be just as amazed as she was at how cool this magic was. Ella gripped her wand firmly and made sure it was touching the paper. She tried moving her wand and the entire paper slid. Well, that wasn't supposed to happen...I must have been pressing too hard. Ella replaced the paper and picture and again touched the tip of her wand to the paper's surface, this time more gently. She slowly traced a square while saying, "Statua Habitum." She looked down and her mouth dropped open. Her paper was changing in front of her eyes. In its place, a beautiful wooden frame began to form and as it inched closer to her picture, glass emerged. I did it. I can't believe I actually did it! She was beaming. She really couldn't help it and she looked around the room to see what progress her classmates had made. |
Returning to her seat, Lily took her picture and placed it on the piece of paper that was on the desk. Then picking up her wand she practiced drawing a square around her photo, so that she knew what to do when she actually did the spell. Once she was ready Lily drew a square around the photo while saying, "Statua Habitum." It didn't quite work, well... it didn't work. Time to try again. This time focusing solely on getting the spell to work, She drew a square again while saying, "Statua Habitum" clearly. This time it had worked and a nice frame surrounded the picture. While it could use some touch-ups on the sides, Lily was proud that she was able to make the spell work for her. |
Glenn walked back to her desk and glanced at her picture that still sat there. Her child self was holding her father's wand, making a flower grow to the size of a car. She smiled and placed it on top of the paper. "Statua Habitum!" She said. her paper hadn't done anything except flip over. That's not right. She turned it up the right way again. Come on Glenn, concentrate!! The badger tried the spell again, tracing the square shape on the paper, "Statua Habitum!!" This time, when she looked back at her paper and picture, they had transformed into a handsome oak frame with her child self smiling inside it. Glenn beamed and took out her journal and scribbled some notes on the spell inside it. She felt rather proud of herself. |
After watching the demonstration, Eino returned to his desk and sat down. His eyes locked on his photo as he recalled every single detail he could from the day it was taken. He wasn't too sure about which frame it would best in, at least not yet. Taking one of the square pieces of paper, Eino looked away from his photo and around at the room. Everyone seemed to have began transfiguring a frame for their photos, and they all looked very handsome. Finally, his eyes stopped on Professor Magnus, and then they found their way back to his desk. Hopefully it was okay for him to practice on the square piece of paper alone before applying the photo on top of it. Eino picked up his wand and glanced over his notes before tracing a square above the paper and reciting the incantation. "Statua Habitum." His concentration had been on a sleek black frame, very handsome and bold, with a light shiny to it, that would match the dragon's hide. What Eino got instead was a dull, thin black frame. "Reverto," he said and watched as the simple frame turned back into a piece of paper. |
Aurora glanced at her picture of Sebastian. Sure, she had loads of him, but this one was so cute. His little blue eyes staring at the camera amidst all that white fur as he tried to bat the lens with his paw. She didn't want to ruin it... Instead, she picked up a piece of paper and folded it to the size of the picture, then she placed it into the middle of the other paper. Okay... this could be... interesting. Aurora held her wand above the paper, drew a square and muttered "Statua Habitum." Nothing. Why did everyone else seem to get something..? So not fair. She tried again, this time she took a deep breath before attempting the spell. Okay, focus, square, "Statua Habitum." Nothing... oh, wait! The edges of her paper seemed to have hardened slightly... this was progress! She tapped the paper and said, "Reverto." Always good to start from scratch, right? Okay, drawing a square aaaand "Statua Habitum." Oh! That looked almost like a frame! It had a wooden textured look to it, and had thickened slightly... but it was still pretty flimsy and there was nothing covering the folded paper in the middle. Okay, start again. "Reverto." "Statua Habitum." Square. Aaaand... oh. Nothing. What? Why didn't it work? Maybe she had lost concentration in the expectation that it would work... She practiced the spell another three or four times with varying levels of success, getting more frustrated every time. Then she decided to take a deep breath before carrying on, it was almost impossible for her to get a spell right if she was stressed. Breathe in... aaand out... much better. She swapped the folded paper for the picture of Sebastian and, for the last time Aurora concentrated on a frame, drew a square with her wand and... "Statua Habitum!" Aha! A FRAME! It wasn't the one she had been focusing on, this one was much much simpler, but she had done it! She had actually managed to transfigure paper into a picture frame!!! |
She went back to her seat and drew a square on the paper and quietly said,"Statua Habitum." She then put the picture in the frame and smiled at her success. |
Louisa was nodding at the second version of her explanation about the framing cool spell. She really loved it, did she say this? Yeah, she did! With a very light and sweet Louisa smile, the girl went back to her desk. Settling back down, the fifteen years old grabbed her bag off the floor and took out her picture. It was a simple picture of herself this summer in Brazil, leaning against her boyfriend's red car. She would've brought a family picture, one from when she was an ickle little unwitch girl but that'd trigger a series of memories she was doing very well without them. With a quiet sigh, Louisa brought closer the paper, she smoothed it with both of her hands making sure it was flat on the table without any tiny obstacle that might corrupt her photo. Not that it'd be a disaster, she had an album full of photos from the Brazil vacation and she was sure that Joao had a copy of it. The girl placed the picture over the paper and made sure to position it right in the middle, just like Professor Magnus did. With some squinting of the eyes, moving backward and forward in her seat to make sure that the photo was in the required place, Louisa Carter was ready to frame. Pointing her wand at one corner of the paper, she started moving it along the square around, "Statua Habitum." The paper started stretching a bit and its edges were flipping over and fading to another color of grey... no, silver. For a moment, it was as if the paper came to life and started taking a proper shape. The girl's eyes were wide open in amazement at the transfiguring paper, and when it settled down and stopped forming a beautiful classic silver frame for her picture, Louisa held the framed photo in her hands and stared at it with a big winning grin. Now this was magic! |
Alex took her seat and retrieved her picture from her bag. She smoothed the picture and placed it on top of the piece of paper. "I can do this", Alex told herself. She took a deep breath and focused as hard as she could on the frame she wanted to appear. She traced a square and stated, "Statua Habitum" with as much authority as she cold muster. The beautiful gold frame appeared, just as she had visualized it. "I did it. I can't believe it", Alex said excitedly. |
Ellie saw the results of Professor Magnus' picture frame and Ellie was eager to try it herself. Accepting her photo back, Ellie smiled. "No problem, Professor." Although it would have been cool if she could have kept it in the frame so Ellie was exempt from the assignment, but... no such luck. Once she got back to her desk, Ellie set the photo in the middle of a piece of paper. Deeep breath. Tracing her wand around the edges of her photo, Ellie concentrated on a simple black frame. "Statua Habitum," she cast confidently. Suddenly, the paper wrapped itself around her photo and formed into a sleek, classy, black frame. Ellie gasped a little bit and giggled. And then she coughed. Because that was weird to giggle to yourself. But she did it! |
And it was time to actually cast the spell themselves. These were the times that Amelia enjoyed the most in class. Theory she didn't too much care for, but practical times she loved. Opening up her bag Amelia retrieved her picture. It was one that she'd wanted to have framed for awhile now but hadn't got around too. Mainly because she hadn't been able to decide if she wanted to have it in a scrapbook as well. But now was the perfect time to place it in a frame. Amelia carefully laid the photo in the middle of the paper, making sure it was all straight before thinking about what kind of frame she wanted to put the photo in. Once she had it stuck in her mind she picked her wand up from her desk and began to trace around the picture while saying the incantation, "Statua Habitum,". When she was finished a simple silver frame with some gold twists had appeared around the photo. It was beautiful and for some reason the fact that she'd been able to produce the frame without damaging her photo made her proud. She'd send this to her parents once the lesson was done if they were allowed to keep the frames. |
Silvia returned to her desk and pulled out a photo of her, her brother, and the family owl. She placed it on top of the paper and ran her hands over both to make sure they were perfectly flat. She wasn't worried about damaging the photo, her mother always made sure to make a few copies of most of their photos. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, imagining the frame she wanted to transfigure. Opening her eyes she said "Statua Habitum!" and traced a square on the paper. It worked! Well, sort of. The frame was a bit lopsided, and there was no glass or clear plastic over the photo to protect it. Come on, Silvia thought. I did this once already, I can definitely do it again. "Reverto," she said, then took another deep breath. Concentrate. "Statua Habitum," and she traced a square. The paper turned a dark brown and grew thicker. The edges folded in and a thin layer of glass appeared and slid into place. She did it! She was delighted that she was doing so well in her first week of classes. |
EEEEEP! That was pretty a awesome spell was it not? She didn't even need to buy a picture frame for the pictures. A single piece of paper would do. And yup, that was worth saying something. When Professor Magnus commanded that they return to their seats, Beezus nodded and turned around and joined the other students as they reverted back to their desks. Once she was settled comfortably, she took out her wand once more and looked at the frame resting on her desk. She would need to turn it back into its original form before she could use the Statua Habitum spell the way Professor Magnus had showed them. She rested both her arms on the desk, pointed her wand on the sequined frame and "Reverto." she uttered. Almost instantly, the frame contorted and returned back to the piece of paper. Now, unto the real task. Beezus carefully took out the picture that she brought with her. It was taken during the summer, her best friend went to her place and the two of them took a quick pose at near the kitchen sink. She chuckled at it, the kitchen sink was really behind them. Good thing they were done with the dishes that time or else the dishes would've made an appearance in that picture. With a smile, the young eaglet settled the piece of paper on her desk then she placed the picture on top of it. Afterwards, she smoothed both it make it lay flat on the surface. "Stat-UA HAB-itum!" she uttered as she pointed her wand on the paper and picture upon making it draw a square-like shape in thin air. Nothing happened then and there and it caused her to panic a bit. What did she do wrong for the spell not to work properly? Beezus was about to repeat the spell again when the piece of paper made a frizzling sound. When she looked at it, it was crumpling itself along with the picture. "No, no, no.." She groaned, it wasn't supposed to do that. Perplexed, she covered her face with her hands. HER PICTURE!! But then..the crumpling suddenly stopped and when she looked back at it, she found an ornate silver-ish picture frame and her precious photo was already inside it. She felt like crying but she stopped herself. Instead, she grinned and looked at the Transfiguration Professor. "Professor, I think I'm done." she said. |
After one failed attempted, Eino was determined to transform the piece of paper into exact frame he wanted. His problem was in his concentration; everything else he had performed flawlessly, at least according to his standards. All that was left was for him to clearly envision the exact frame he wanted. He cleared his throat and shuffled a bit in his seat until he felt comfortable. He raised his hand and left it suspended in the air while holding his wand for a few seconds. Meanwhile, he closed his eyes and pictured a black wooden frame. Opening his eyes he began to trace a square above the piece of paper while uttering the same incantation. "Statua Habitum." The paper began to jumble about on top of the table, distorting itself, then finally settling while transforming. When it finally stopped moving it had turned into a beautiful frame. It wasn't necessarily what he had envisioned, but it was close. The corners, they weren't as pointy, and it wasn't black enough. He left out a sigh in disappointment and reverted the frame back to a piece of paper before trying again. |
After that DISASTROUS first attempt at trying the spell, Alex had retrieved another piece of paper and placed it on the desk in front of him, placing the photo in the middle and preparing to tackle this spell again. Right, focus on the FRAME, Alex, not the photo... Moving his wand in a square motion, he muttered "Statua Habitum," as he had before, envisioning a lovely metal frame encasing the picture, unlike the bulky rock half-frame he'd gotten before. Blegh. As he finished moving his wand, he smiled in delight to see that the spell had worked! The paper twisted and turned and managed to create a swirly, silvery metal frame around the picture. Awww, how lovely. This would be a great gift for someone for Christmas! You didn't even have to spend a dime, you could just tear a piece of paper out of a notebook! |
Desiree had watched in awe at the Professor's demonstrations, not feeling all that confident that she could actually accomplish that herself. She went back to her desk and placed the picture on top of a piece of paper. She decided that there was no point in practicing, what if she did an amazing job and then tried to do it on the real one and it didn't work? Focusing on a specific frame in her head, a little different than the last one, she traced her wand around the paper, "Statua Habitum" she said, the frame started to form, yes it was working! But then it started to fade away slowly, but surely falling back into a paper. Sigh. Not giving up she tried again, "Statua Habitum" she said as forcefully as her rather soft voice could manage. Immidiately the paper began to transform into a forest green frame wrapping around the edges of the photo, rather intricate leaf carvings forming on it, the edges of which seemed to be brushed with gold. She smiled at her work. She hadn't expected it to be quite so spot on.. The exact frame she had pictured. She then looked to the photo, her favorite of her and liliana, her sister, at her 18th birthday party. She smiled again at the memory. Running her hand over the frame, she thought of what an amazing spell this was. She was never buying a frame again. Nuh-uh. In fact the second year would probably have a stack of frames in her dorm by the end of the term, from all the practicing she was going to be doing. It made her wonder what else you could make out of a simple piece of paper.. |
The third attempt would be a charm. Hopefully. Eino had grown tired of repeating the same mistake. He knew exactly what he wanted in his frame, and what he wanted it to look like, but he could not produce a whole image of it. He knew the color he wanted it to be, the details it wanted it to have and all that. Still, every time he tried to picture it he had another sudden though and the spell fizzled. Frustrated, Eino shook his arms a bit and cracked his knuckles, a habit he did not wish to adopt. He closed his eyes and concentrated on the exact image of what he wanted his frame to be like. It took several seconds, and those seconds turned into minutes, but something he had something. It would make be easier if he could draw it but that would ruin the purpose of it, right? Eino focused on the image he had in his head and slowly spoke the incantation as he traced a square above the paper. "Statua Habitum." The paper began to behave in the same way it previously had, but the result was different. It was, in fact, the frame Eino pictured. Success! The only problem was that he didn't like it once he held it up against the picture. No, that would not do. "Reverto!" He said, ready to try it again. |
SPOILER!!: ze Prof Vickers returned to his seat then bent down for his bag. Taking the frame out of his bag again, he looked at it for a moment before sliding off the backing and taking his mother's photo out. He lay the photo aside and took another parchment, folding it up to the size of his mother's photo and setting it at the center of the paper he was trying to transfigure. He traced the square wand stroke again "Statua Habiutum" he uttered with a bit more confidence, and the paper transfigured just as it had before.... but this time it looked a lot more solid than a paper frame. Heck it almost looked like wood. He cast the Reverto spell to start over. This time he concentrated on the quality of how the frame would come out and form around the blank piece of paper, almost seeing it in his mind's eye. He traced the paper again and cast "Statua Habitum!". This time the paper formed smoothly into a wooden frame with a silvery finish. Looks like he's got it! He cast Reverto once again then set the folded parchment aside. In its place he set his mother's photograph. Ohh boy here we go.... He traced the paper again and confidently uttered "Statua Habitum!" The paper transfigured back to the silvery wooden frame just as it did before, this time encasing his mother photo securely. Vickers peered closely at his work, trying to see if there was any damage to the photo within. It looked as pristine as when he took it from his own frame. He leaned back into his seat breathing a little easier, then finally smiled. |
Sleek black frames were just... not for Eino, no matter how well it went with his photo. He was right all along, he had to just think about whatever, open his mind and let the frame create itself! Much more relaxed this time, Eino traced the same square he had traced for the past three times. "Statua Habitum." He recited and the piece of paper flew into the air! Eino followed it with his eyes, but not fast enough, and by the time he looked up, the paper had come back down. Eino fixed his black eyes on the disoriented paper as it distorted itself and then began to reshape into a frame. This frame was... nothing like Eino could ever imagine, but it was exactly what Eino would imagine. It had colors, so many of them! Blues, yellows, greens, pinks, oranges, purples, reds of all shades! Shapes like circles, squares, triangles, and swirls! There were even dragons! Yes, little colorful dragons all around the frame, one on each corner, as though they were holding the picture. Well, three of them looked like they were holding the picture but the one on the lower left side was breathing fire on it! It was the best frame ever. Eino's eyes sparkled as his mouth hung open for several minutes. He couldn't take his eyes off of the frame. Too bad it wasn't the one with the picture in it, but Eino didn't mind. He knew that if he did exactly the same thing he would get a completely different frame, but similar. He put the dragons frame aside, and was finally ready to frame his photo now! |
Nodding as the demonstration ended, Kurumi stayed behind for a bit simply to examine the professor's spellwork, trying to remember just how everything had looked as the spell had been cast so that that she could try to envision it herself and not melt her paper on the first try again. Once she felt that she had spent enough time doing this, Kurumi began to make her way towards her desk when she noticed a first year Puff having a bit of trouble. Quote:
Kurumi offered the girl another encouraging smile and then moved a few more desks down to her desk. Removing her wand from its holster again, Kurumi pointed it at her glass frame. "Reverto." Within a few moments, the frame was back to being a plain white piece of paper. Smoothing it out a bit with the palm of her hand, Kurumi set the photo of Jonathan and her on top of it and took a few deep breaths. Visualize...visualize not melting the paper but making a frame... |

Laura looked at the older girl and smiled. "I'm a bit scared of ruining the paper." Laura sighed seriously the paper must have some sort of feeling, no matter if the paper didn't talk. "Okay thanks for the information." "Reverto." "Reverto." "Reverto." Laura said as she pointed at the paper she did what the older girl told her, she had no idea if to believe the girl or not but she decided too, but instead of the spell doing what it was supposted to Laura was shocked when the paper started to turn into wood. "is this suppost to happen?" |
Nodding at the instructions given and the procedure described by the professor, Ira then returned to her seat. Then she wondered whether to first try it with her own photograph or practice it on a rough paper. She decided on the latter. It would be better to first do it on a rough paper than risk destroying her photograph. But she could use the reverse spell, right? Still, she went for the rough paper first. She took out a sheet from her bag and folded it up to nearly her photograph's size. The she kept it above a larger sheet which would later turn into a frame. Then she recalled the professor's instructions.. She first put the paper flat out against the desk. Then taking her wand, she pointed it at the paper and focused on the simple frame she wanted. She gently touched the paper with the tip of her wand and traced a square around it and muttered, "Statua Habitum" clearly. And yes, a frame appeared, actually a much simpler frame than she had actually imagined! But at least her spell was successful. So now she would try it with her photograph. But before that, she reversed her spell, "Reverto" she muttered with her wand pointed at the paper frame. And there, her frame again reverted back to the original frame! |

Kurumi looked back at her white piece of paper and the picture on top of it. Quickly, she trace a square over them. "Statua Habitum," she said, and soon the white paper puffed up and framed her picture with a simple black plastic frame. She would try for something a little more complicated and intricate one next. "Here, watch me," she offered, holding her wand above the frame. She closed her eyes to get a clear image of the white paper in her mind, and then performed the wand moment. "Reverto." The frame uncurled around the picture and turned back into a white piece of paper. "Remember, concentrate." |

"EH I'll never get the hang of this." Laura whispered to the older girl. "I'm useless at Transfiguration." Laura had just decided that but well you could see she wasn't very good if she continued using Reverto she'd have a tree. "Maybe I should use Reverto again?" Yeah maybe it would be fun to have a tree in class. "What do you think?" Laura looked at the branch that went across hers and Kurumi's desk. |
Laura was excited to do this!! She drew a square on the photo of her and her sister, which was kept on the paper and said 'Statua Habitum.' She gaped as the paper folded to form a beautiful, purple frame |
Confident enough that she could transfigure a frame around her photograph, Ira decided to use her photograph. She took a whitew sheet of paper slightly larger than her photograph, and placed it flat out on the desk. Then she placed the photo on top of it. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the type and design of the frame she wanted. She took her wand and drew a square around the photograph and muttered, "Statua Habitum" slowly but clearly. And then she opened her eyes to see what changes were taking place. Her paper was slowly changing into a square frame around her photograph. The, it was exactly as she had wanted. Wow! She admired the frame she had just transfigured. This was so exciting! |
While the Hufflepuff tended to her own transfiguration spells, Kurumi returned her attention to her own paper and photograph. She twirled her wand between her fingers as she looked at the picture, trying to think of a frame from home or her grandmother's that she could focus on when she cast the spell again. Having her mind mostly blank had earned her a simple black plastic frame. When she had an image of a frame that was on one of the windowpanes in her parent's bedroom, Kurumi ceased her twirling and traced a square over the two flat surfaces. "Statua Habitum!" The white paper puffed out again and crept around her photograph slowly. Its color turned golden and a somewhat intricate design appeared. In a few more moments, the transformation was complete and Kurumi held up her now framed photo, a slight blush appearing on her cheeks. Quote:
o_______________________O HOW had this girl managed to turn Reverto into a tree growing spell? Kurumi could do nothing but blink in disbelief at the branch that had grown across the tables. This was...sort of beyond her comprehension. "I think...you may want to hold off on casting that again," she said, shaking her head slightly. Maybe it was her spellwork, or maybe there had been something weird about her paper. "It might poke someone's eye out if it gets any bigger." Just to be safe, this was something that they should leave to the skilled hands of the professor. Kurumi looked up in Professor Magnus' direction and gave the woman a pleading look. |
A frame spell. Selina was still completely and utterly enthralled by this spell. It just seemed so brilliant. wjg would her parents ever want to waste money on frames when they could just simply grow them. Stepping away from the demonstration she walked back to her desk. With her picture in her hand she smiled at the memory. She and Kurumi had been jumping up and down on Selina's bed hitting each other with pillows with feathers flying everywhere. It was one of their crazier and more wonderful moments. When she reached her seat she drew out her wand and concentrated. She did not want to blow up her picture or make it melt. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and said, "Statua Habitum.". The redhead waited for a moment for something to happen. Nothing did. She sighed and was about to try again when something started to sprout on her picture. It was working!!! No wait.... Nevermind. |
I can do this…, Gwen told herself and placed the paper on the desk and then the picture above it. Right—now- where did I put my wand?, the Ravenclaw asked herself and felt her eyes going wiiide. I lost my wand! Nooo! I can’t believe it!, the third year told herself and started looking for it. Oh, here it is…, she realized, noticing it was just near the photo. Hmph. Stupid reactions. *ehem-hem* ‘Statua Habitum!’, the girl said loud and clear and watched as a beautiful blue picture frame came out. YES! I did it!, she felt the need to congratulate herself. |
Text Cut: MeredithRodneyMcKay Well, now that she'd mastered what they'd done in the beginning of the lesson, this next part shouldn't be too hard. Shouldn't, but she'd just have to see when she actually did the spell. Back at her desk with all the necessary materials, Sierra first placed her piece of paper flat on her desk. She centered it, although for no other reason than to just help her with aiming and lining things up. Next, she grabbed a hold of her photo, taking a good look at it first, and then centered it directly in the middle of the paper. It took her a few seconds to get it perfectly centered, but in the end, she thought she did a pretty good job. Only time would tell, though--she'd either have a framed photo or a photo embedded into a frame. With everything now in its right place, Sierra raised her wand toward the paper and photo. She imaged what was, in her opinion, the ideal frame. She then made a perfect square, or as close to perfect as she could get, around the paper. "Statua Habitum!" she said. Most of the time, Sierra had to try spells and charms two or three times in class. This time, though, it helped that she'd mastered the frame-making earlier in the class. With a slight pop!, the paper expanded and slowly started to take the shape of a pretty, wooden frame. Seconds later, she had a nice, framed portrait of one of her favorite family members sitting right on her desk. |
Ira then wanted a more beautiful, this time a colored photo frame! She reversed her earlier spell, she muttered, "Reverto" and the frame turned back into the paper it was as original. Now Ira decided to make something flowery and pretty and bright! She made up an image in her mind and focused on it. Then taking her wand, she traced a square around her photograph with the wand's tip and muttered, "Statua Habitum". And there came her beautiful new photo frame! SPOILER!!: Reverto into a tree growing charm! While Ira was still admiring her own photo frame, she looked around to see what others were doing.. and saw Kurumi. Was that a tree branch on her desk? What was that doing there? Had Kurumi transfigured her paper into a tree? Then she saw where that branch originated from and saw that it started from desk of a young Hufflepuff girl! Maybe a first year! Aww.. so maybe her spell had gone wrong and now instead of a frame, a tree had taken shape! |
"Reverto," Jezzabelle said turning the frame back into the piece of paper she needed. Smoothing it out she placed the picture of her and her grandfather on top and stared at it. "Statua Habitum." She drew a square of the two and watched as nothing happened. Odd. It had worked earlier. She continued to stare at the picture and thought about a nice frame to encase the picture in. Her grandfather "Statua Habitum." Again. Nothing. |

"Urrr, right. Where did you have it last? Maybe it fell off your desk." Isabelle bent down to try and get a good look under the row of desks where the boy was sat, but all she could see where bags and feet. Quote:
Wandering over to the desk that the Ravenclaw sat at, Isabelle smiled as she saw the framed picture. "Well done! It looks lovely, I must say. And if you're happy with it, and want to keep it like that, then by all means get another piece of paper to keep practicing until class finishes." SPOILER!!: Laura and Kurumi Up to the point that the paper had turned into a tree branch, Isabelle had been stood watching Kurumi help the young girl and admiring her skills. She probably should have stepped in, but what was being told to the Hufflepuff was much the same as she herself would have said. But now 'Reverto' had gone a bit too far. "No, no, no. I think starting from scratch would be a better idea," Issy said, rushing forward as the branch stuck out and nearly caught one of the other children by the robes. "Laura, next time you try reversing a spell....well, just say the incantation once, alright? Too many times and you might end up in a bit of a pickle." Like she was in now. Although HOW was anyones guess. Flicking her wand at the branch, Isabelle vanished it. Returning to her own desk she picked up a fresh piece of paper and placed it in front of the Hufflepuff. "Now, clear your mind and concentrate on what you want your frame to look like. Then say the spell once, perform the wand movement carefully and see what happens. If nothing does, don't worry! Give it a bit of time then try again." Walking back to her desk, Issy spun on the spot and looked around. "Does anyone else need any help?" |
"Nope Professor, I think I don't need any help.." Ira replied as Professor Magnus passed her desk. She decided to show her photo frame which had taken a total of three to four attempts to do it right! "Professor, I'm done! Here is my photo frame" Ira went up to professor's table and asked, "Is it good? Can I.. or should I improve it in any way?" |
Vlimia grinned proudly at her picture frame, and then turned it back into the blank peice of paper needed with a quick "Reverto.". She put the photo of her little sister on top of the paper, and smiled sadly. She really missed Scarlett (her sister). Oh well, no time to waste getting this spell done! "Statua Habitum." Vlimia uttered, tracing a square on the paper. The end result was really quite satisfying. Vlimia went up to the Proffesor's desk with her frame and waited in line. When it was her turn Vlim said "I think I'm done... do I need to make any changes?" Because maybe that wasn't what the Proffesor was looking for or something. |
So what was she do wrong exactly? She thought about it and thought about it and finally came to the conclusion that when she went to try and do it she'd stop thinking about the picture frame and think about the picture. So, what to do? She closed her eyes to think about it and that was when she came up with the idea to get the assignment complete. "Statua Habitum," Jezz said making a square over the paper and picture and made herself think of nothing but the frame. Frame. Frame. Finally the paper formed into the same frame she had before. It bloomed upward and plastic spread over the picture encasing it in the frame. She made it stand and she stared at the picture of her grandfather. She missed him so much. The frames flowers around the boarder really made her think of him even more. "No help needed her Professor," she said her voice thick. |
Quote:
She turned to the Professor and said, "I would love to Professor," well..because she liked it very much. Certainly, Erin would be delighted to see it later once she puts in on her bedside drawer. "And yes Professor Magnus," she replied enthusiastically. But then.."Err--Professor, would I use my own parchment?" Beezus asked, for a parchment was different from paper. |
Right. It was time for Amelia to frame her photo now. Taking it out of her bag, she looked at it lovingly. It was a picture of her and her boyfriend, Zayden because she loved him more than anything in the world and wanted to give him a nice framed photo of them together. She was lame and sappy like that. :3 She lovingly placed it on her desk now. She smoothed the paper and the picture out before grabbing her wand. Time to concentrate with all I have in me, she said to herself maybe a tad over-dramatic,but she really wanted to do well in this class. Touching the paper gently with the tip of her wand, she drew a square around all four edges while saying, "Statua Habitum." She saw the paper expand upwards and change to a gold-like hue just like the Professor's had. She continued to watch as the edges moved inward and glass formed over the photo; her frame was now complete. Maybe it hadn't looked as nice as the demonstration, but it was still good enough for her, and she figured she could always practice it again. |
She slammed her wand down on her desk. This was so not working. What could she possibly doing wrong? She had cleared her mind, pronounced the spell correctly, followed through with the exact spell motion. It was almost as if the spell wanted to spite Selina because she was so confident earlier in her work. So she tried to clear her head or all preconceived notions of her ability to carry through with the spell. Picking her wand back off of the table she said softly with a new sense of concentration, "Statua habitum.". As if by magic |
If the original example of the spell the professor performed was exciting, seeing her do it with the parchment AND the picture was even more amazing. A perfect frame now beheld the volunteered picture and Gideon could only hope that he could fare just as well, even if it took a few attempts. Making his way back to his seat once the demonstration was complete, the 5th year mused over the words of the spell once more to try and improve his understanding of them. Statua habitum...Statua habitum...Statua habitum Satisfied with it, Gideon placed his picture back on his desk and took up his wand once more. The boy closing his eyes momentarily, working on visualizing a frame for his parents' picture. He then opened them so he could try his next attempt. "Statua habitum..." he cast tracing a square along the parchment that rested behind the smaller picture. It took some focus but when the spell took hold, it wasn't quite what he had in mind. A brownish frame now held the photo showing some success though, he just needed to try some more. "Reverto," he said using the counterspell to switch it back to paper once more. |
Text Cut: Professor It was now Harvey's turn to do what the Professor had just demonstrated.. so Harvey broke away from the group and went to get another piece of paper so that he could practice first before doing it on his actual photograph that was very important to him.. he then went back to his desk with his photograph ready to turn his paper into the photo frame for his photo.. he put his photo onto the table and put one piece of paper flat on the table and straightened it out making sure that it was completely straight. He then put the other piece of paper ontop of the original piece of paper and he picked up his wand and closed his eyes to view the frame he had in mind. He then opened his and with his wand he traced the square on the paper he had in front of him.. "Statua habitum!" he said as he watched the paper crumple against each other and shape itself into the frame he had in mind.. except it wasnt rectangular like he had imagined but a circle frame.. yes it looked nice.. but not what he wanted "Reverto!" he said getting his two pieces of paper back. Harvey then closed his eyes again and really concentrated on the frame in mind.. and he then opened them and traced the square on his papers "Statua habitum!" he said as he watched the papers again crumple and shape itself into a frame.. and he watched in amazement as the papers were no longer papers but the stylish frame that he saw in his mind.. he was happy that it had finally worked.. so now he thought he was ready and decided to try it on his actual photograph.. and he couldnt wait to see the finished product. "Reverto!" he said as the frame became two piece of paper again. He then put the piece of paper on top of his photograph making sure that both were straight and in mine with each other. He then closed his eyes once again to concentrate on that frame he had got before.. and once he was ready he opened his eyes and traced the square on the paper in front of him "Statua habitum!" he said as he watched the paper crumple as before and slowly but surely shape itself into the frame he had pictured but this time it had his photograph in it! He had ACTUALLY done it! he had framed this precious picture.. oh he was definitely keeping this.. and he took into his hands to get a closer look at it and smiled and he then stood the picture up on his desk as he looked it.. SPOILER!!: Harvey's framed Picture |
Sophie looked down at her burned picture frame. It looked so cool like that... but oh well! She got out her wand and pointed it at the frame. "Reverto!". The frame seemed to unfold right in front of her eyes and, a few seconds later, it was just the Right, now to the picture! Sophie got a picture of herself with one of her mum's giant flowers and put it in the center of the paper. Once again, she held her wand and slightly touched the paper with it. She drew a square around the her picture. "Statua Habitum!" and stared. The paper was moving by itself again, like it was crawling over her picture. She frowned. The burned parts were all around her frame, making it look... well, burned out. "Noo, not cool!" she thought, pointing her wand at it. "Reverto!" and once again there was just a Sophie stopped to think for a few seconds and smiled again. She drew another square around her picture. "Statua Habitum!" As she watched the paper moving by itself once more, her smile grew wider. The burned parts of the paper made a nice drawing around her picture and the blank part was now all behind it. "Hah!" Sophie thought staring happily at her work. She liked improvising things like that and was glad the frame was now exactly the way she wanted it to be! |

"They are both very good, well done. And if you wish to keep them like that you're more than welcome to. What I would say, to maybe help with your focus, is take another sheet of paper and try to increase the complexity of the patterns on your frames. The more detailed something is, the more you have to concentrate to get it exact. But as for these....nothing needs changing unless you want to." Quote:
OOC: I'll be finishing the lesson sometime tomorrow afternoon, just to give you all a heads up. :) |
SPOILER!!: Professor Magnus Tayla returned to her seat and tried the activity. She practiced with a little piece of scratch paper before trying the spell with her family photo: her parents, little sister April, herself, their chocolate retriever Cadbury, and little tawny owl Marigold. "Statua Habitum!" Tayla said while doing the wand movement. The frame formed itself around the scratch paper, but to Tayla's dismay, it was torn into pieces around the edges. "Oh no...Reverto!" The frame became paper again, but the scratch paper inside was still torn. "Hmmm...that probably means the paper was torn not because of the spell," Tayla said to herself. "But because of the frame that formed through the spell. Stretched around the edges and tore..." She tried again. "Statua Habitum!" The paper was again transfigured into a frame, and this time, the paper she used for a 'photo' was properly placed inside. "That's better..." she said to herself. She practiced several times, and finally feeling confident enough, she decided to transfigure paper into photo frame with her family photo inside. "And the frame has to be pretty, too..." Tayla put the photo carefully on top of the paper for the frame, traced a square at the edges of the paper, and said "Statua Habitum!" She watched as a colourful picture frame appeared and enclosed the photograph. Tayla smiled and decided to bring it with her the way it was. |

Biting her lip--she was getting that habit more and more--, Beezus then placed one parchment on the middle of her desk, got ready with her wand and.."Stat-UA HAB-itum!" she muttered as she drew a seemingly square shape in mid air. |
Oh. They had to revert their frames. Nate was so thoroughly in love with his Ravenclaw frame that before turning it back to parchment, he took a detailed mental picture of it before he set it down on the desk, and cast a careful, "Reverto!" As the frame dissolved back into paper, Nate could only watch in some awe at how the colors and etchings simply faded away to the yellow hue of the parchment, with his quilled square around the margins. "Let's bring you back, Frame..." he said to himself, setting the picture right in the center of the rectangle. Perfect fit. "Statua Habitum!" His wand brushed gently against the surface of his flattened paper, his hand cautious to stay steady. No mess-ups: that picture and that frame were both extremely important to him, and the picture was irreplaceable. Luckily, the same Ravenclaw frame, adorned with a deep blue background and shiny bronze details, formed up around the picture of the Trio up in that tree. "Viola, perfect!" he said, gesturing out in his excitement. His frame was back! |
I've been offline only dor two days but I've left soo many .___. Raven took her own photograph from her bag. Then she placed it on the top of the paper Okay. Just focus, consentration... She took a deep breath, drew the square shape and casted the spell "Stat-UA HAB-itum!" then the photo has its own frame. So cool! "I'm done, Professor!" said Raven and showed her photograph with a simple black and white frame. She loved it. |
Messer went back to his table after he watched Professor Magnus demonstration . He was eyeing his photo frame for a while. To bad they have to turn it back to blank paper. He picked up his wand and pointed to the frame "Reverto!" But nothing happen. Pffft..Typical. He pictured a blank white paper in his head "Reverto!" This time the frame turned back to a blank paper. He couldn't help to smile at his success. He made sure that the paper was on his desk like the Professor said then he put his mother picture in the middle of it. The young badger raised his wand toward the paper and photo. Messer imagined a frame in his head while he made a perfect square around the paper with his wand "Statua Habitum!" Slowly he could see the paper slowly turned into frame but before it made a perfect frame it went back to a paper. He sighed. Messer did the spell once again this time the paper was again transfigured into a simple frame and his mother photo was was properly placed inside. |
Stare. Beezus stared at the outcome of her newly transfigured frame. It was a bit odd looking, if you ask her. It was a bit ancient. But it certainly had more complicated designs on it. However, it did not satisfy her. It was too much for oldies and it made her wonder so much since she wasn't thinking about the past or anything that would've made it look like that. What's more, when she looked closer, she noticed what a failure it was. It even had damaged parts. She can't help but smirk. EPIC FAIL. Biting her lip again, she pointed her wand towards it and uttered, "Reverto." Good thing she was not that bad when turning things back to their original form. |
SPOILER!!: Professor Magnus Alyssa carefully listened to Professor Magnus' instructions and studied her demonstration before she returned to her desk. She wanted to try out casting the spell on another paper first before actually performing the spell on her own photo, so she pulled out a piece of parchment paper from her bag and folded it to the size of photo she had brought with her. She then took the piece of paper that the Professor had given them earlier and placed it flat on her desk. Then she took the paper that she had folded and placed it directly in the middle of it. Taking out her wand, Alyssa traced the corners of the paper with her wand making a perfect square and said "Stat-UA HAB-itum". She immediately saw the paper enclose itself round the paper she had folded until it turned into a square picture frame with the folded paper nicely framed inside it. Alyssa smiled. She liked this practical part of the lesson. She then pointed her wand at the picture frame again, and said "REVERTO" changing the frame back to a piece of paper. She practiced the spell a couple of times using the folded paper before she felt confident enough to pull out the photo of herself. She placed the paper flat on the desk and then placed her phot directly in the middle of it. She then picked up her wand and tracing a perfect square on the paper surrounding the picture, Alyssa said,"Stat-UA HAB-itum". Immediately the piece of paper changed into a beautiful gold photo frame with her photo securely framed within it. Alyssa liked what she saw and decided to select this as her final product. |
Gustav had his wand at the ready as he watched how the other students did their transfiguration spells. Some of them did succeeded, some of them needed a little bit more practice. He had his family photograph of him while he was a baby, his parents waved and moving around as they posed for their picture to be taken. He couldn't help but to smile back. He traced along the paper with the tip of his wand and muttered "Statua Habitum". He already knew this spell, it was just another practice run for him. Immediately, the paper transformed itself into a squarish picture frame with the photograph inside it. He chanted out "Reverto" so he could do it again without failure. He was happy with the result of the practical lesson. He rose his hand to indicate he had done it. "I'm done,professor..."he said as he showed the professor his picture frame. |
Not ready to give up, Gideon was more then ready to try again on the frame making. The boy determinded to create an at least half-way decent frame for his picture. Picking up both picture and parchment one by one off of his desk, he resettled them both down on the wooden surface like they should be, the fifth year figuring to reorganize things. Once he was satisfied that the items were in place he tried again, picturing the picture frame once more. "Statua Habitum..." he cast, tracing the square carefully, focusing on the image in his mind and the clarity of his words. Awaiting the magic to work, the paper folding around the picture and forming the frame, he couldn't help but smile at the outcome. One bronze-like beautiful frame now held the picture as he picked it up off the desk. Mission accomplished. |
SPOILER!!: Prof Magnus Eino was ready to start making a frame for the photo, when something caught his ear. So they could transform more than one of them? Hopefully what Professor Magnus told Vlimia was applicable to everyone, because he wanted to try a few other designs. Putting his awesome dragons frame aside, he picked up another piece of paper and placed it in front of him. He spent a few minutes scratching his chin and thinking about a different design. When he was ready, he lifted his wand and began to trace a square above the paper. "Statua Habitum," the boy said calmly and watched. The paper grew a few inches, then it thickened and roughened. It changed to light shade of grew with a few darker spots. By the time that the transformation was complete, the surface was completely rough, just like rocks. Although, when Eino picked up the frame he was shocked the find out that it wasn't heavy. Upon closer inspection, the frame wasn't made of rocks, but wood. Wood that looked like rocks. Putting that one aside, Eino struggled to make a decision. Move on to his photo, or practice a little more? Frame designing was fun. |

Laura decided that she would have another go and she decided to listen to the Professor and concentrate. "Statua Habitum." Laura said as she did the square around the paper but nothing happened, she cleared her mind and decided to do it one more time. "Statua Habitum." This time the paper turned into a photo frame. "Professor I did it." Laura was happy now. |

She still needed to try. She knew that. And that was what she was going to do right now. Do it again. It shouldn't be that hard right? She had been very successful the first time she tried and now, she can't even make a decent looking frame? No, she was not going to let that happen. Grasping her birch wand firmly, Beezus took a deep breath as she uttered the spell. "Statua Habitum," emphasizing the UA and HAB as Professor Magnus has taught them to do so while she traced a square in mid air. A couple of seconds later, the parchment curled up as it always does when she casts that spell. Then it contorted and crumpled a bit. A tiny dot suddenly appeared at the middle and before she knew it, the middle part were also curling up towards the side until it became a frame. Beezus stared at it for a while then picked it up for examination. "No more scratches and damages," she said as she carefully surveyed its borders. Then she sighed. "Still..no complexity..Just too simple." She needed to make the design more complex as Professor Magnus said. Gaaaah, maybe using a parchment isn't the same with muggle paper? That was the only reason she could think of because she did great when she used muggle paper. Well.,at least she had a bit of progress so she placed it back on the desk and reverted it back again. More practice. |
