The frown didn't decrease on her expression, though it was interrupted by a startled set of features as Mo practically dragged her to his rescue. Stumbling a step, she glanced from her clearly upset cousin to the girl that insisted on following him. For a moment, she eyed the girl, tilting her head and pursing her lips before regarding Mo. "You've met my mother, Mortimer." That should have given him enough of a warning as to the mentality of those that lived on the Great Isle. But the situation seemed to need a bit more of an explanation. "They like their owl's, Mo."
She had an owl as her familiar too, but hey, it was easier to send and receive messages by. How long would a lizard take? Weeks? Months? If it didn't get squished by a car or a wizard or witch that thought it was somehow evil.
Her thoughts and attention finally returned to the girl as she wiggled her hand free of Mo's grip. Or attempted to. "You know, people don't usually run unless they are being 'chased'." See the problem? She did. But then, she was a little biased. A pause of curiosity. "What type of familiar do you have?"
REALLY. "Well that can't ALL be that insane, Tasia. Not ALL of them. There is no way this country would have survived this long if everyone was mental like her," he said seriously. And the owl comment... "I can't help it that my familiar is a gecko. I was planning to buy an owl for mail purposes... but I don't have anyone to write so that seemed frivolous," he said with a nod.
And then he stepped aside to allow Tasia to take the forefront of this... situation. Perhaps he could see a girl fight. That would be hot. Hehe.

She folded her arms across her chest nervously, "It doesn't even understand our language." And there was no way that Louisa would do one of the reptile sorry sounds. If there was any, but who knew? For all she knew nobody had a reptile as a pet before!
Turning her eyes to the rescuer girl, Louisa scoffed. Owls. Yeah, right. Whatever. ANOTHER scoff. "I beg your pardon but I wasn't chasing him!" Louisa dropped her arms and gestured with one at the boy, "I was walking after him to apologize. And I did! He just wants to make things impossible." Pooooout. Where were they from? Louisa thought England had the most stubborn people on earth! Hmph.
Her familiar? "You mean pet? I..err.. have a kitten." Who was nowhere to be seen. She was lazy, shoe-licking and stubborn so Louisa rarely took her out of the compartment in the train.
WHOA. "Pardon me... but Dionysus understands everything you say. Thank you very much. He is my familiar, not a normal animal. He has extreme intelligence." THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
And she was seriously daft as well as insane. "Um no. Not pets. Animal familiars are animals with which wizards have a MAGICAL connection to. Dionysus is mine." He reached up to stroke his gecko's little head and smirked at Tasia. "And considering I was running from you and followed after me, that does constitute chasing," he said smugly.

She looked at him and saw his face. The face that she had been trying so hard not to look at. "I dunno. I think I'm excited for Quidditch. My father can't stop me this time." she said as tear started to fall.
Alec watched Adeline as she... she was turning to look at him! Finally! Now they could carry on a proper conversation in a normal manner. No more awkwardness or whatever it was. It could be like that time when they talked in the ice cream store in Diagon Alley. They just had a nice, normal conversation. Nothing major.
Alec smiled as she looked at him. And she started talking about Quidditch! It was that wizarding sport thing, wasn't it? "I'm excited about Quidditch as well! Hey, we can both-" But then Adeline started crying. Alec blinked. Crying girls made him so uncomfortable! He took a step closer and looked at her carefully. "Adeline, you okay?" he asked.

Tasia's eyes went to Mo for a moment as he commented on her mother, a small smirk forming at the corners of her lips. She supposed that was true, and gave a nod of acknowledgement to him. Oh, he took that owl thing a little personally didn't he? She had forgotten the British air had made him a little more sensitive to matters.
Giving his hand a pat-pat, she freed her last finger. "You can always borrow Reese, providing he doesn't eat your letter." The White Faced owlet did have a strange habit of chewing up all the paper it was given.
But that was another matter for another time. Now was the time to deal with gecko-fearing-girlie. Which, although she was suddenly physically at the forefront of the faceoff, Mo seemed to be doing a fine job of handling his own defenses. Took the words right out of her mouth about familiar statuses and the definition of chasing.
But the corridor wasn't big enough for a scrap, and Tasia held up her hands a little between the both of them. "Pardons are granted on both accounts." What was with this 'pardon me' saying anyways? It's not like they were trying to get by each other so much as they were trying to get through each other. Her hand closest to Mo lowered slightly, but the one by the girl stayed raised, a finger extending to point at her. "Point of fact....He can be very difficult. Its a good thing you realized this now." Though why she was still going after him, she couldn't figure out.
Unless....
A finger was suddenly pointing at Mo. "It does make sense though, don't you think Mo?" Now that she thought about it. "She has a familiar kitten and kittens chase difficult, evasive things like string, cotton balls and feet." A grin started to form on her lips. Mo was a piece of cotton. Oh it was so cute she could almost pinch his cheeks!

...okay, it was official. Louisa wanted to punch that smug face off the boy right here and now. Only she didn't want witnesses. HOFF. Regarding him with the same cool gaze, she spoke, "If it's really intelligent, it won't need an apology from me. It'll know I meant no harm." IT. Because IT was an animal. HMPH. This boy was so not going to make it into her beloved house. Heh. Hufflepuff for sure.
At his explanation, Louisa found herself fidgeting with her foot. "Well.. I.. err.. did have a familiar kitten." Fixating her eyes on the floor she added, "But she was killed two years ago." Not that it mattered now. But the girl seemed really in need of analyzing Louisa's character and acts by her pets.
SCOFF.
"Umm.." She said right when the girl stopped talking, "You don't have to know my familiar in order to understand my actions." Duuuh. "I'm Louisa Carter. Fifth year Ravenclaw. I don't like people getting offended on their first train trip. And I don't like bad first impressions." Tadaaaa! All was clear now and Viola, the tabby cat, had nothing to do with it.
Another official announcement, this clan was weird.
"Do you mind telling me where are you guys from?" Because that was tugging at the large curiosity field in Louisa's head.
Tasia was intelligent and it was one of the things that Mortimer loved about his best friend/cousin. She could argue VERY well, also. VERY WELL. He gnashed his teeth at her pointing finger that was in his FACE. Silly spindly looking fingers in his face.
"So you merely assume that everyone should just REALIZE that you meant no harm when you are rude. Right. How's that working out for you?" Mortimer said with an eyeroll. This chick was CRAZY, DAFT, and ANNOYING. If he wasn't such a gentleman he would plop his gecko right on her head.
She had let her familiar DIE? Good gracious she was a pet murderer among all those other things? How had she survived this long? "No we do not HAVE to know about your familiar to understand your actions, but it does indeed make sense. You learn a lot about people by their familiars," he said with a nod. Although even he had not quite figured out why his had turned out to be a gecko. Hehe.
And now she was giving a biography... what a NUTTER. "Why do you want to know? Will it affect your opinion of us? Will it help you figure out our actions? Tasia I think where we hail from is in no way shape or form relative to what we do or how we perceive rude Britons on the train. Do you?" he said looking first at Louisa and then to Tasia.
