Train Corridor

Used for transportation between cars, you don't want to stay in one place too long or you'll get trampled by the foot traffic.

Steelsheen 12-31-2011 03:19 AM

Vickers made his way down the narrow corridors, cradling a birdcage in one arm and pulling the pup buggy with the other. He was hoping to find a quiet enough compartment where he could have his pets move about. He could tell they were tired of being cooped up already.

Dolly was bite BITING the bird cage, flapping her wings about, the feathers on her head fluffed up to its full height. She was INCENSED. How could her master possibly put her in this ridiculously ugly cage?!? When she indicated that she wanted to come with him she meant she wanted to fly to wherever he was going. Gah! All the more reasons why she thinks Wizards are stooopid and in dire need of her guidance. Whatever will this hapless bug-eye do without her? Depend on that four-legged drooler for help? Oh please!

MacArthur yaaawwwned for the nth time. He was bored, he wanted to stretch his legs. All he's been seeing the past several hours were pants and shoes and this narrow wall that seemed to have no end. He whined a bit as he tried shifting his position. He can walk ya know, he didnt understand why he had to be pulled around in a travel cage.

Clearly, Treyen was walking down the corridor like everyone else was...and he probably would've said 'Excuse me' and moved on from the fellow with the animals as he walked past him...but...

...blink.

What on Earth was that on the cage? And why was the boy bringing a dog? Ha he hidden more pets in the trunk?

The young man couldn't resist. "Er, what kind of bird is that one?" Hell, it didn't look like an owl, and it looked like it would be a LOUD one.

Laci skipped herself down the corridor until she saw"A BIRD! Oh how beautiful!" Ahem, "I mean excuse me but you have a wonderful bird, wonderful animals you have. I used to train animals you know! Could I sit with you?"

Vickers was trying to not be such a hindrance, but he already caught the attention of an older student. Oh boy "Uhm, she's an Umbrella Cockatoo " he replied shyly, then glanced back at the cage. Yeah the bird was obviously going nuts. "Its her first time traveling in a cage, she's not used to it.."

Dolly looked up at the boy looking at her. What was he staring at? Hasnt he seen a avian royalty before? She squawked at him as she ruffled her feathers even more, then went back to biting her cage. I.want.out.of.this.cage.NOW!

He turned sharply at the yell, startled at the sudden appearance of the red-head "Yes.... uh. Th-Thank you" he replied with a small smile, then looked down at MacArthur. "Y-You train animals? Really? Cool, did you work for an animal shelter?" Given that all his pets were rescue cases.

Wait did she ask if she could sit with him? He looked at her and the older boy then the filled compartment next to them. "Uhm... sure, if I could find a vacant one that is, or ones that dont mind having a noisy bird around."

Dolly turned her head at the screaming, fully expecting a rival, and less beautiful cockatoo such as her self. Eh she was like Master BugEye, except this one had pretty hair. Well not as pretty has hers "Dolly! Dolly!" yes that was her name. Not Bird. Guh.

O___o

THAT was a beautiful bird? It looked like it could attack anyone at the moment, since it seemed not to be enjoying its cage very much. How could that be any beautiful?

It probably bit people. Kaika's owl did. And it was ALSO white.

Considering the yelling had surprised him quite a bit, Treyen just blinked at the girl, and stood there as he waited for the boy to reply.

Well, yes, a...what? See, it was no owl. Then what was the purpose of having a bird if it's not going to be of some use? Thank Merlin Gilderoy couldn't hear what he thought. "Does it carry heavy packages?" Like, really, it was scary looking, it must travel a lot, yes?

Treyen took a couple steps away from the cage as well. He'd rather have the dog.

Compartments? Empty ones? "I saw a few empty ones at the back...," he said, eyes on the bird. The farthest that thing was away from him, the better.

Alyssa was walking along the train corridor with her head down because she didn't want people to see that she had been crying, when she walked into somebody. She looked up to see that it was Treyen, the Head Boy and her fellow Quidditch team mate. "Uh, Hi Treyen. I'm sorry that I walked into you. Guess I must have been daydreaming. Let me get out of your way." Alyssa said forcing a smile on her face.

Caley! XD

After placing her stuff in a compartment with Ellie, the blonde Malfoy made her into the hallway. They had already spent several hours on the train and the blonde needed to get up to go for the walk. She didn't have Sel with her. Selena was the Slytherin Prefect and was in the Prefect's Compartment. The blonde was really happy for her friend because if anyone deserved that position it was definitely her hyper bestie. Plus, having a Prefect taking over the world with you was a plus. They could get lots of things done this term. Braeden wasn't here and Alfie had left- so the blonde was left to her own devices. At least she had Ellie but Ellie was with Dallin and Emma didn't really want to interrupt the two lovebirds.

So, as she continued to walk past the hallway, she spotted the Head Boy. His name was Treyen wasn't it? The blonde had seen him in a lot of her classes but never had had the time to talk to him. She didn't know why. He seemed nice enough. She gave him a brief smile because she saw he was talking to some others. "Congrats on making Head Boy!" she exclaimed, beaming another smile at him as she made her way down the corridor.

He could tell the older student had his doubts on Dolly. He was probably right to do so, then again with the cockatoo's current disposition it was hard to guess wrong. "Oh yes she does carry packages, almost as efficiently as owls even.... well maybe because she learned from the other birds. I have an aviary at home and the birds-- they all learn from each other." He added as he double checked on the cage door. The padlock was still in place. "Yeah she's pretty capable. She can open stuff up-- jars, food packets, window latches...." Sigh, maybe the next thing he should teach her was some discipline.

He saw another student speak to Treyen but what the red-head said next had him looking back at her "You worked at a circus?" he said, smiling slowly, eyes brightening up in excitement "And you have seals?" Ohhh so curious was he now with how she managed that. But she asked a question "An animal shelter rescues neglected or abused animals." he explained "People there work with all sorts of animals-- I've volunteered several times myself, but I've never met anyone from the Circus before."

Oh so her name was Laci "Hi Laci, I'm Vincenzo-- just call me Vickers." he added softly towards the end.

He looked towards the back of the train as the older boy indicated "Oh thank you!" he replied gratefully, "If you dont mind noisy company you're free to join us...." he didnt know the lad's name, but it sure wasnt a reason not to extend something nice in return.

Oh. So, the bird could carry packages, then. And he knew lots about birds too. Well, that may come in handy, somehow. Treyen made a mental note of this one.

"That's...pretty good." Truly, it was. So, he had a bird that was kind of like an owl but looked nothing like one. Nice. Plus, there was a fact Treyen just learned...birds learned from one another, right? Surely the girl next to them knew this as well...since she has trained animals before? Er, what? Circus?

Laci? "Hey, Laci. I'm Treyen...and...good to meet you, Vincenzo," he nodded, eyes on them both, "Actually...I've already got a compartment." And that bird needed to be away from him...and close to Laci, since the bird seemed to like her anyway.

But...his attention was turned to someone who bumped into him. Much like that time in Diagon Alley, this was also another Hufflepuff. Blink. "What? No, no, it's okay, Alyssa." He said, and...there was no real need to apologize, really. Except...he took a hold of her arm, a very light hold, "Have you been crying?" He disliked crying, very much, and he used to panic in front of tears...but Victoria had made him realize he wasn't panicking at the sight of tears anymore. "What happened?" He was concerned, that's all.

Alyssa knew that she had made a mistake taking a walk along the corridors. Now she had the Head Boy asking her why she was crying. "It's nothing, Treyen. Really. I was just missing my family. I always do this every time I have to say goodbye to them." Alyssa told Treyen, hoping that he would believe her lie. "I guess I should go wash my face before I alarm someone else. Thanks for asking though." Alyssa thanked him as she quickly headed to the nearest washroom.

The train finally boarded and Hades found himself standing at the train corridor, having his back pressed against the wall of compartments allowing for other students to make their ways. Next to him was a large trolley suitcase with a smaller suitcase, a small trunk and an owl in cage on top of it. His eyes wandered around the corridor gandering at people passing by, going in and out of compartments.

The mass of the baggages he was pulling was tiring him. Hades sighed as he looked around for available compartment. He hoped the ones available will be the ones with people he knew, but if it was the different case, he wouldn't mind. A comfortable seat was what he really wanted needed.

A sigh of relief. That was what she immediately let out once she boarded the Hogwarts Express. Now she was out of her cousin's eyes and she would be able to act normally without anyone judging her with sarcasm. Heck, yes. Dylan was the type who likes to put stress and emphasis in every simple thing and she was his most common target.

Pulling her large trunk, she set out to find a vacant seat. Hopefully, she would get to see some familiar faces around for she was not yet on the mood to meet new ones. Just then, she passed a compartment with a few of her friends inside. But seeing as they were overcrowded, she just waved and smiled at them and continued wandering the corridor.

"Err--are you lost?" Beatrice asked a boy who was standing alone with his back pressed on the wall, his belongings all around him.

Hearing a girlish, childish voice adressing him, Hades looked down to notice a girl around ten to twelve smiling. He wasn't lost. How can anyone get lost inside a train? "No, I'm not," he responded politely as he returned the smile to her. "I'm just looking for my friends... Or a vacant compartment," answered Hades as he gandered the corridor again. Panda started to annoy him with his screeching noise. The corner of his right eye twitched at the pidgeon owl, wishing he was allowed to perform magic outside of school so he could cast the Silencing Charm on the spoiled panda-owl. "Shut up, you twit!" mouthed Hades glaring at his pet owl.

As he corrected his fedora, the elder boy thought he should make more friends. It was always his dream to make it into the Department of International Cooperation anyways. What not with his experiences as a nomad and ability to speak many languages, it won't be too difficult for him to achieve his dream. "How long do you think till we arrive?" he raised an eyebrow at the younger girl. She may knew how long, but may not.

sweetpinkpixie 12-31-2011 10:39 AM

Deciding that she had spent long enough in the prefect compartment, Kurumi decided that it was time to start walking around the train and catching up with other people that she hadn't seen all summer. Not that she would be against running into anyone that she had seen recently either. Really, she just wanted to get out of that stuffy compartment and walk around.

Walnut was weaving in and out between her legs with a look that could only mean trouble on his whiskered face. "Walnut, behave or else I am sending you straight back into your carrier," she warned.

Okay. He was not lost. And he was not rude either, he smiled right? That was good to know. At least now, she had not bumped into someone who's actually out of their comfort zones. "Why, I'm doing the same." Then the boy's owl started screeching, which in Beezus' observation was annoying him. And yes, she saw that. That silent mouthing. Poor little owl, is it not? Its master not talking to it properly. Unlike her, who talks to her owl like its some kind of a little sister. "You know, you should try communicating with your owl better." She knew she was trespassing yet she just couldn't ignore the cute owl.

How long until they arrive? Beezus likewise raised an eyebrow at the boy with that question. But she realized it wasn't good manners so she blinked and pulled her composure back together. "How long.." she mumbled, thinking as she pulled her trunk into a halt beside her and rested her back on the wall opposite the boy. "Well, that depends on many things." She crossed her arms and continued, "I mean, if a storm would greet us then it may slow the train or...if the machine gets broken or something.." Though she highly doubt that would happen.

Tylernatooooooooooor and Mico for anyone

Rhea told him to be good, mum told him to make the right friends and his dad told him to have fun and try to learn as much as possible, but all that went in through one ear and came out the next. He was away from all of them now which meant he could do whatever he wanted.

There were no wizard-prep teachers to taddle on him when he got picked up now because he wasn't going to get picked up. Hogwarts was his stage.

He pulled Meeko from his pocked and and let the rat loose down the corridor. He had after all scattered a trail of bertie botts beams down the corridor aisle and in compartments occupied by girls. Rhea always screamed when she saw Meeko, hopefully Hogwarts girls were the same.

Lewis was still looking for an empty compartment. Not very successfully, though. And he really didn't want to ask anybody if he could share their compartment with them. He really didn't. The corridor seemed nice enough too though. Erm. Hopefully this train ride wasn't going to take that long.

He had somehow convinced Vanilla to walk next to him, mainly because she just didn't have a choice, seeing as she was too heavy for him to carry her for longer than five minutes. All of a sudden Lewis heard her purring grow louder, causing him to look up, only to find himself looking at Kurumi.

"Hey!" He greeted her, pushing himself off the wall he had been leaning against while Vanilla immediately went over to where the Prefect was standing. She stopped however upon noticing the little furball at her feet and went to sit down, just looking at it. "Is that Walnut then?" Lewis asked, glancing at the cat with a small smile.

Hopefully he wouldn't teach Vanilla how to get shaved at Hogwarts.

Hades didn't expect for the girl to saw what he said to Panda. Letting a sigh, he shrugged at her. "Tried to. For almost four years. Gave him two rodents this morning. Two rodents, I tell ya'! And he still tried to eat my fingers when I wanted to pet him," bloody bird! Should've bought a different owl in the first place. But Panda was too adorable as a baby. Muggles did say never judge a book by its cover. They got that right for sure.

Merlin! He hadn't introduced himself. That wasn't a good manner! "I'm Hades, by the way. Hades Vaughn," he stretched his right hand for the girl. The scar from the peck earlier was still visible on his forefinger. Maybe it was time for Hades to change his attitudes. He was going to take his O.W.L within a year.

"Really?" She stared at him, dumbstruck. Surely, no pet would be like that if it had only been well taken care of through the years. And that made a conclusion on her mind, maybe this guy which she still don't know what the name is is cruel to his pet and that's why the owl seems to detest its master. Yes, probably. Or maybe the owl is an animagus? Like Ronald Weasley's rat? She read that somewhere on one of the many books about the great Harry Potter and his life.

But oh! She couldn't stand it. Beezus just can't stand there staring at the boy's cute owl without proving to him his pet's cuteness. And because of that, Beatrice walked over to the boy's side and knelt beside the boy's owl cage. "What's its name?" She inquired.

"Oh. Beezus. Beezus Castell. Nice to meet you Hades." Introductions done. But wait, Hades right? Wasn't that the name for the God of the Underworld in some muggle mythology? Hmmm..God of the Underworld, that would most likely explain his behavior towards animals.

Hades' eyes followed the girl until she knelt besides Panda. He wanted to warn her not to stick her fingers inside the cage. "His name's Panda," said Hades crossing his arms. Figure! "Careful there! Don't stick your finger inside the cage. He bites everyone!" warned the owner of the owl as the girl took a closer look at the owl. Phanes had been bitten, so did his dad and himself. Only his mum never dared to get close to Panda.

Beezus was an eccentric name to Hades. At least he knew someone who had eccentric name as well. If he was correct, the girl would think of him as some sort of Greek's God of Underworld. "Pleasure meeting you," he smiled, pulling away his hand as Beezus didn't accept it.

Okay this, this was sad she blinked before she even did took a deep breath and ran up the corridor and screamed

''THE NARGLES ARE HERE, THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!!! They took my shoes!!!!!,''

she screeched looking at everyone and trying to hide herself from humiliation

She felt like she wanted to burst out laughing but it would ruin it she bit her lip and turned around heading for her compartment

Kurumi was a bit startled when something...or someone came into her peripheral vision, but her expression didn't show it - the small jump MAY have though. "Lewis, hey," she smiled with a slight flush to her cheeks. "Vanilla as well," she nodded towards the cat. Meanwhile, the feline at her feet ceased his weaving in and out when the scent of another cat became present. This was most displeasing...displeasing indeed. Did it belong to this boy? This...*sniff sniff* Lavender Kid...

Kurumi looked down at Walnut and sighed. She ought to pick him up before he did something he ought not to. "Yep, this is him," she nodded with a small groan as she knelt down to pick him up. "He snuck out of the common room and into the Headmaster's office when I wasn't looking and...um...peed on the Headmaster's shoes."

She felt like she wanted to burst out laughing but it would ruin it she bit her lip and went back to her compartment

Walnut's ears went down and he jumped out of Kurumi's arms and marched right over to the screaming human-thing. How RUDE to cause such noise when he had been having a peaceful moment. His eyes narrowed when he saw that she had no shoes on...not that it mattered. Socks...shoes...they really were all the same were they not?

Displeasure written all over the cat's face, Walnut squatted down...

Kurumi's eyes widened when Walnut had jumped out of her arms and she gasped when he, well, when he was about to do what he usually did when he was agitated. "WALNUT!" she shouted, grabbing him by the tail before...too much had leaked out of him.

"I'm sorry about that...but you really shouldn't be yelling through the train corridor" she said, bowing to the girl. "Um...nargles took your shoes?"

Panda? Panda? That would explain the color of the bird. But a cute little thing like that? Would bite? Nuh-uh, Beezus doesn't think so. She couldn't believe it would do such a horrible thing. "But he's too cute an owl to bite anyone Hades," she reasoned out. Surely, the owl's appearance isn't going to deceive her, right?

There was only one way to find out. She should try sticking her fingers inside the owl's cage. And because of her current scenario with his owl, Beezus didn't even had the chance to shake the boy's hand, she was too keen on knowing the pet instead of the master.

Now, on to her experiment. Beezus narrowed her brown eyes as she actually stuck her fingers inside the cage.
