| | |  Three-Legged Races!
 The path through the Topiary Garden has been cleared of all benches in order for students to participate in the Three-Legged Race. The entrance to the garden marks the starting point, the exit marks the finish. While they may seem like ordinary start and finish lines, looks can be deceiving and you will realize that as soon as you and your partner are at the ready. Charms have been placed on the lines, so, once you and your partner are standing side by side, hopefully holding onto each other's arm for balance, invisible bonds will lock your leg and the leg of your partner together. Don't worry, though! They're not permanent bonds, and will vanish as soon as you cross the finish line.
Walk, run, or hop your way up the path, but watch out. The topiary do seem to have a mind of their own and will try to block your way.
Let the races begin!
The rules:- This is an RP event; to get some tokens you have to RP and show some effort.
- Each team must consist of 2 people, from any House.
- The game will run over 3 rounds to allow everyone to pair up and take part.
- To make it across to the finishing line you need to RP the event in as many quality posts as the time frame allows. By "quality" we mean at least one good sized paragraph, 4 lines of text, and a bit of effort put into the posts. This should include the binding of your leg to your partners, hopping/jumping, dodging the topiary and then making it to the finish line.
- We know that in the heat of the moment, adrenaline will run high but please, no pushing, shoving, or use of magic to get advantages. Bad behavior isn't tolerated!
- Each round lasts 3 days. Please wait for a staff member to post to signify the start of the round.
- And of course, have fun!

Oh. Dear. Merlin!
What was up with those two girls? Were they trying to hurt themselves? Or worse! Were they trying to hurt his pets plants? Cringing as he watched them topple over..again, Waylon figured it was time to end the race. It was getting late, too, the kiosk would be opening up soon and he was sure they all wanted to get their prizes. Or house points. "All right, STOP!" Again. No more running. And he wouldn't say anything, but he didn't think those girls should run even if their legs weren't bound to eachother. Making his way closer to the two, he pulled out a handful of tokens, and after flicking his wand in the girls direction to unbind their legs, he dropped the tokens into their hands. "I think you two really need the Healer now."
He was no Healer himself, but he was sure that Zhenya's wrist should not look like that. And Laura's foot. He wasn't even going to look at it.

Zhenya quickly grabbed the tokens - the beauties, and said "Thank you very much Professor. Yes, I think I had better get this looked at..." she tried rotating it in a circle but stopped. Then she looked up at the professor looking guilty, "I'm sorry that we almost hurt your garden. I didn't want to get... I didn't want them to get ruined," she said. At least she could speak for her own wrist. She didn't want to try and bandage a Topiary animal back together. No way! Having her leg free from the bindings, she got up without needing to use her bad arm, then bent her knees to put Laura's arm around her neck to help her stand up. She would take her to the healer.

Laura looked at the Professor. "Seriously Professor, the race can't be over yet." Laura sighed as she watched the binds go away and then she watch the Professor give them tokens, Laura felt a sharp pain in her foot but ignored it as she hobbled upto Zhenya and gave her a quick hug, you were great. "Professor I'm sorry about trying to destroy your plants." Laura didn't like the pain in her foot but she wouldn't cry.

Zhenya couldn't hold back a small giggle when Laura said "maybe I am a bit too competitive." Really? Zhenya was very fond of Laura, especially how competitive she was. She was the MOST competitive person she had met, and here she was claiming she 'might' be a bit too competitive. Zhenya said "I'm okay Laura, but we really are sorry Professor. This was a really REALLY good race which you set up. We meant no harm at all to the Topiary." She smiled at Laura to let her know she was okay, although she was in pain.

Laura wasn't trying to destroy his pets plants on purpose, but she did think it would be fun to see them get knocked over? Wasn't that basically the same thing? He was pretty sure it was and he let out an exasperated sigh. He couldn't possibly yell at her, though, not that he liked to yell anyway, but she had apologized and he could understand about being competitive. "It's fine, Laura." Which meant that she shouldn't apologize anymore. "Just don't let it happen now that the race is over." He would be watching. Quote:

Waylon wanted to tell the girls that it wasn't he they should be apologizing to, but the topiary. But they would probably think he was weird for even saying something like that and then word would get around the castle that he talks to plants. Which he did, but that was besides the point. Smiling, to let Zhenya know that it was all right, that she could stop apologizing, too, Waylon glanced at the topiary and gave a shrug. Their leaves would grow back. Hopefully. "I'm glad you enjoyed it." he said turning back to Zhenya, but then addressed the both of them. "But you two better hurry off to the Healer before she leaves. She won't be too happy if you bother her afterwards." Although, Waylon didn't think the woman was ever happy.
But he wasn't going to mention that.
