I kid you not, this is one tree you don’t want to mess with. It's best you keep a safe distance from the Whomping Willow's tree limbs or you may end up with a few broken limbs yourself.

Hands deep in his pockets, Alec wandered down the grounds, not knowing where he was going. All he knew was that he was following his feet and his feet seemed to be leading him... somewhere. Anywhere. Not that he minded. He had gummy bears with him! And this was Hogwarts! Now he just needed some company and-

Alec stopped and blinked up at the tree standing a couple of feet away. It wasn't the first time he was seeing this weird tree but it was one of those sudden out-of-the-blue moments. And this tree still managed to amaze him.

The young boy, sat down on a patch of grass and took out his bag of gummy bears. He could probably sit here and just watch the tree now. Yeah, that didn't sound like such a bad idea.

Avery wandered around aimlessly, walking through long forgotten parts of Hogwarts grounds and into a patch of dense trees. She remember these from her first weeks at Hogwarts, when she'd gone exploring. She suddenly thought of the past few years, stuck in a hospital, unable to move out of the bed, never mind explore.

She cast these thoughts away and kept walking, through more densely packed trees, around bushed, until she came to a tree that she recognised. The Whomping Willow. She slowed to a halt, and looked around talking it all in, the way its branches move in sync forming graceful movements, that to some would seem deadly.

Then she noticed him, a little first year by the looks of him and she immediately forgot all of her shyness and boldly walked up to him as if he were an old friend and sat down next to him.

Alec was too busy gazing up at the tree whilst popping gummy bears in his mouth to notice that someone had walked up to him and sat down next to him. All he knew was that this tree was very... violent. And there was no way he could go tree-climbing on that tree.

It was only when he tore his gaze away from the tree and took a moment to look around that he noticed the older girl sitting next to him. She seemed... familiar. Maybe. Or maybe he was just seeing people again.

Alec looked from the girl and back to the tree. "It's kind of fascinating, isn't it?" Maybe the girl likes climbing trees and going in treehouses? But he wasn't going to ask that just yet. First things first: introductions. "I'm Alec, by the way, Alec Summers." he said, holding out his free hand.

"Now that's because you've never been to my house,"Cardigan said.Logan did NOT know what he was saying.If you've ever been to Cardigan's house,the one thing you'll always remember is the classical CD playing on repeat.Boy did it get annoying!"I know right!And what's even more blah is their low low low voices.It makes me wonder,"Cardigan said,saying the last bit(a.k.a. sentence) in a low,country voice,ending it in a snort which soon enough became a laugh.Sigh.She got a kick out of Country and Bluegrass music.A real big one.

Alec followed her, trying to dodge the many branches that seemed to be flying at them. This tree was dangerous! But before he could say anything to Avery, the girl had managed to touch something that made the tree... freeze? Could it do that?! "How... how..." his voice trailed off as he looked between Avery and the tree and then back again. "Wow Avery! How did you do that?"

"What did you expect...a Slytherin?" She asked, teasing him. "Cool!" She said as she returned his grin, they could be little Puffs together! "I'm in First Year, what about you?" Avery said, wondering whether he noticed that she looked to be 13 or 14, instead of 12. Due to her illness, her growth had rapidly increased and she'd done a year and half worth of growing, in just half a year. But now, it had slowed down and was actually halting to let her body caught up properly.

Avery laughed out loud, but not in a mean way at Alec's face. It was one of pure shock and slight terror, but mainly awe. "Practise. I've done it about 10 times since arriving here and I learnt how when I was spying and saw some fourth years attempt it, but fail. I noticed where they went wrong, and I went right."

She looked over at Alec and smiled. She wondered what he would want to do now that the tree was frozen and unable to harm him.

Cody walked to the Whomping Willow. He remembered when he was there two years ago, he was much smaller, not as tall as he was now. He took a seat away from the big tree and watched it move around.

He sniggered when her hair was yanked out of her head. Served her right. SO ANNOYING. And he would jinx her but then he'd be the git who jinxed a girl. NOT COOL. James sniffed in irritation. DOES SHE EVER SMILE? Probably not. It seems all she does is glare? Like, c'mon. "You really need to learn how to smiiiiile. You just lift up the corners off your mouth. Simple as that." He said sarcastically, smiling.

Ok, so, when he pushed her over to help her avoid being hit, he was yelled at. So when he just warned her it still blowed up in his face. Merlin. She was a handful. "Sorry, can't do anything right in your eyes can I?"

He knew this would be coming at some point. He didn't want to take this any further, so he stood up. "I uh...have to...catch up on some homework." He lied. "I'll...see you around." he said with a slight nod as he began walking back to the castle. "You idiot!" he thought to himself.
