"Dance?" Logan asked. "Well, I can but I'm not like an expert or anything." he said chuckling. Okay, what was with girls asking him this question all the time?! They always asked if he could dance, and then they ended up dancing together...

"I meant like break dance or something like that,"Cardigan said enigmatically.Was he thinking.....Oh no.That would be plain disgusting!Best friends don't do stuff like that.They do fun stuff like running around and making octopus pizzas.That was meant for stuff like....bleck.She did not even want to think of it.Plain disgusting,I tell you,plain disgusting!

"Oh, break dance...well sorta." he said chuckling. "Yeah. I'm not the best at the uh...couples er dancing thing...I think I'm better at break dancing than that." he said laughing.

"Couple dancing stinks,is not fun,and regular dancing is way 'easier',"Cardigan said,putting emphasis on the word easier.It was easier and easier,meaning it was less complicating and less nerveracking.She was NEVER gonna go there.Not in a lifetime.Well,at least not untill she was old enough.

"It does stink! I totally agree." he said. FINALLY someone who agreed! All the other girls were like 'oh it's sooo romantic and amazing!' yeah. No. Ahaha. He'd rather stick with the other dancing...

"And not to mention,way too mature for our age,"Cardigan said,further confirming her agreement.She couldn't get why some girls thought it was so good and romantic.She was not even ready to feel those...feelings yet.Her?No.Not.Ever.

"Yeah...totally." Logan replied.

"your so strange max you really are!"

"I don't get what people see in it.They're all like this;"Cardigan said,clearing her throat to get ready for saying in her (fake)light,airy voice,Sarcasm flowing in her voice,"Oh my.Dancing slow with members of the other gender is soo romantic,"and concluding by batting her eyelashes(ever so fakely),clasping her hands and looking up at the sky in a way that said oh dear heavens I want this so bad,twirling around,and then instantly stopping as if that was not her at all and a totally different person."Such drama queens," Cardigan said while rolling her eyes.What in the world was wrong with them?!?!

It was December now and Lana was still out of sorts with everything. She thought it was just a bout of homesickness, but she finally made herself leave the tower again. She wasn't doing herself any favours by locking herself away, besides she needed to get work done.

Finding a nice spot not all that close to the Whomping Willow, she sat down. She had heard stories about the tree and she didn't want to end up on the wrong side of one of its branches. She couldn't afford to be in the hospital wing if she ever wanted to actually play in a match of quidditch.

Pulling her journal out, she look up at the sky. It wasn't completely dark out yet, but she could still point out a few faint stars here and there. The moon was at least visible in the early evening sky and she knew from there she could possible see what she thought was Orion. Looking to where she thought was the left foot of Orion, she squinted her eyes and tried to see it. There was a constellation there and she did remember seeing it one.

Pulling her journal into her lap, she continued to look out into the sky as the sky darkened a bit. She was slowly starting to recognise the stars and began to jot down just what she was seeing. Eridanus was starting to become more clear to her. It looked like just a long winding river in the sky, but she knew she was looking in the right spot and that made her happy for the moment.

"You're one to talk, But i've been called worse."

Logan laughed at Cardigan. He then nodded, still laughing. "Yup!" he said, with a smile. "So show me your dancing then. You said you were good...let me see for myself." he said with a grin.

"Any specific dance?"Cardigan asked,thinking over what she could do.She couldn't do much,but that fragment she could do,but she could do it well.I wouldn't doubt it.You'll see...

Logan shrugged. "Surprise me." he said with a little laugh.

"Okay then,"Cardigan said with a small smile as she preped herself for dancing.When dancing at the height of your abilities,you need to be ready!Before starting with the dancing,she breathed in and she breathed out.She was ready.5,6,7,8,Cardigan thought as she began to Dougie.When it comes to muggle dances,this girl did it best.She continued the dancing by "beefing it up",one round of the moonwalk,a sharp pirouette,and ended with jazz hands."So what do you think?"Cardigan asked between puffs of breath.Dancing like that was hard work!

Well, good thing this girl wasn't prissy about clumsy Gryffindors. Paulie gave a smile. "Sorry if the singin' damaged your ears. Hope it not permanent." Surely he wasn't THAT horrid. Surely.

WAIT.

WAAAAIIIIIIT.

His smile disappeared, an expression of surprise replacing it. Evelyn? Evelyn?! 'Evelyn' was not a totally common name, ya know. This.. this could very well be THE Evelyn. "Evelyn...." He repeated, slowly. At this moment, she probably thought that he was mental. And, finally realizing how odd his reaction must have been, he cleared his throat and shook her hand. "Er, right. Very nice to meet ya, Evelyn Wellington. I'm Paulie. Paulie Foster."

Being the curious, impatient bugger that he was, however, he had to ask already.

"Say.. do you happen to know a.." Brazil Nut? ".. Joao, by any chance?"

Right after getting a sun dial and a nocturnal from the boxes outside Professor Roslund's office, Sophie skipped her way to the Whomping Willow, her favorite place of Hogwarts' grounds.

Since it was still sunny outside, she would obviously have to start with the sun dial. She knelt on the grass and pulled the object from her bag. She observed it for a few seconds before placing it on the ground. "Okaaay..." Sophie tried to remember what was said in class about the sun dial and how it worked. She also wondered for a couple of seconds how she would check if the time was right, since she didn't have a watch of her own.

Hm... maybe she could run up to the castle right after - supposedly - figuring out the time on the sun dial and ask anyone who had a watch. Or maybe someone nearer. Yeah, that would have to do.

Back to the actual sundial. Sophie kept staring at it while it was on the floor. Wait! She had to point it somewhere to make sense, right?? But... where???
She looked around as if looking for a big arrow pointing in the right direction. That was obviously not going to happen and Sophie knew it. Great... now what?
Maybe the north? But... what part of the sundial was she supposed to point north???

Sophie held up the sundial and tried to figure it out. That was just... so weird. She thought it would be so much easier, but nooo! Anyways, onto work. She put it back down and directed its pointer to the north. Uh... maybe that was it... or not.

"Well, I just heard you apologize..so yeah, I think my ears are fine." Evelyn wasn't going to comment on his singing, though. No offense, dude but it was REALLY bad.

Whoa. This was obviously not the reaction she was expecting. Why did he seem so surprised when she introduced herself? "Err..whats wrong?" The girl muttered as she felt her cheeks turn slightly red. This was embarrassing.

When he finally introduced himself, Evelyn stifled a laugh. Was that a guy's name? "Nice to meet you, too."

Annd..the next question totally caught her off guard. Joao? Marcy? What's with people wanting to know whether she was familiar with Marcy? Ugh. "Erm..I've met him before, yes." Evelyn said, carefully. "Why do you ask?"

"I am not weird. your weird with your American accent." ariana said trying to immatate him once again.

"You're just jealous of my accent. We all know you wish you were american." Maxwell said, his accent was really a very proper american accent due to learning to speak from an american in England.

Sophie stared at the sundial for a few seconds. It made sense to her to point north and she had figured out what it looked like to be the "top" of the object. She pointed that part to the north and noticed the gnomon moved a little. "Oh my, this thing moves around too!" She tilted her lips to the side, thinking hard. She suddenly had an idea.

Reaching out her hand to the side, she held it up paralel to the ground and observed where her hand's shadow was. She knew it was afternoon and that her shadow was then supposed to be to the right side of her streched out hand. Sophie smiled, glad she sort of knew how to see time with her own shadow. She had always known that it wouldn't be useless!

Using her hand's shadow position, she rotated the gnomon with her other hand, in a way its shadow pointed in the same direction as her own. This should totally work! She didn't know the theory of the direction she should point it at, but she knew that now the gnomon was pointing in the direction it should. Hah! Sophie smile widened as she saw on the sundial that it was around two o'clock.

She grabbed the sundial and walked fast in the direction of someone who had a watch. Looking at the older student's wrist watch, she read 1:50pm. "YAY!!" She shouted, running towards the castle, not bothering to have startled some students around her.

Justin walked out to the whomping willow and set down his bag after taking the Nocturnal out. Justin was still not really sure how it worked , but he needed to figure out how to tell time with it in order for him ti get his points for Hufflepuff. So, he looked up to make sure he had enough light from the moon. Holding it up and pointing it in the right direction to catch the lght. Then helooked at the shadow being cast, " Well, that looks like it says 9:10 pm. " Justin checked his watch to see if he had gotten it right. " Hmmm.Not even close. " He decided he might need more practice with this particular instrument.

Logan smiled as Cardigan danced. He laughed as she began to Dougie. He knew that one...he then grinned as she finished with the jazz hands. "That..." he said, looking around and dropping his voice to a whisper just to make the moment all epic, "was wicked!"

"Glad you liked it!"Cardigan said while smirking.Dancing is fun.Fun is dancing.Slow dancing is evil.Evil is slow dancing.Boring is slow dancing.Slow dancing is boring.It was way easier to dance fast and upbeat where you can't step on people's feet.Trust me,you do NOT want to go there.She learned that the hard way.....

Logan laughed. "I can't wait for that party!" he said chuckling. "We need to have a serious dance competition! With NO slow dancing!" he said laughing and reaching his hand out to high five her.
