The Viewing Area
 

Around the playing court, there's a circular arrangement of benches for those who don't wish to participate in this activity. But even if you're not a Gobstones player, you're more than welcome (encouraged even!) to sit with your friends - or alone - and cheer for your house Gobstones Team!

Just remember that all school rules apply and rule breakers will be punished (Yes, I see you carving your name into the bench!). Have fun reacting to your housemates and the plays!

Nate went over to the place to watch the gobstoen tournament. He looked around he saw he was the first one here. That means he gets the best seats in the house. He heads up to the front row. This was the first gobstone match he was going to see.

Despite the fact that Hufflepuff House wasn't playing today, Alyssa decided to go watch the Gobstones Match with Gryffindor playing against Slytherin. Who knows she figured. If the liked the game so much, she might actually play in it this term, if classes and Quidditch training allowed her to. So she settled down and waited for the other students to show up.

Hiya Alyssa, Hiya Nate! Oakey said as he plopped down the bench between the two.

Oakey never heard much about Gobstones and was curious to learn more about it. Why not watch the first match of the year and see if Ienjoys it. he thought to himself earlier. I could even practice my Cheering for my Quidditch Team. He wouldn't cheer to hard though, It wasn't Hufflepuff playing today and he didn't want to throw his voice out before their first Quidditch game.

Great job on making the Quidditch Team Alyssa he patted her on the back and smiled. I'll be cheering my butt off for you and everyone else.

Alyssa was surprised to see Oakey. She hadn't seen much of him ever since Aaron came back and was really glad to see her new best friend. She actually thought that he might have been avoiding her.

"Hey there, stranger. It's good to see you. I haven't seen you in awhile. Thanks. I didn't think that I would make the team since I didn't really do well during tryouts but even I'm made a sub, I don't care. As long as I'm the team, we'll all work together to bring home the cup this year."Alyssa smiled at him glad to be talking with Oakey again.

"Hi Oakey. Yeh good job on making the team. I'm trying again next year. Unfortunately I didn't make it. Oh well I still have six more years to play."

Ella was really curious about gobstones. She had only heard about the game recently and wanted to see what a match would be like. She entered the viewing area and saw several Hufflepuffs sitting on the benches near the front. She also spotted Professor Romanos near the back and smiled shyly at her. She walked down to the trio of Hufflepuffs and smiled. "Hey guys, mind if I join you?"

"Yeh you can join us. Oakey, Alyssa is that okay with you two."

Minerva sat down excited about the Gobstone match. The first one of the term. She couldn't wait to play. She waved at the other puffs there and smiled. While were puffs out in full force this year. That was great.

Nate saw Minnie and said to her "Minnie do you want to join us?"

"Thanks" Ella said with a smile, sitting down.

Ella saw Minnie wave and she waved back. "Hi Minnie, congrats on making the quidditch team!" She was really happy for her friend, especially since she looked up to Minerva and hoped to be like her.

Sophie skipped her way to watch the first gobstones match of the term. She though she'd be the only Hufflepuff to go and was surprised to see a bunch of her housemates there. She smiled and went in their direction. "Hello, guys!" She said happily sitting by them. "I thought I'd be the only Hufflepuff here!"

You'll do great. he told Alyssa. It's true they hadn't seen much of each other since Merlin knows when? I'm thinking of titling myself as the Hufflepuff Official Cheer Captain. He joked but was mildly serious about the claim. Since he was forbidden to play, he might as well go all out with cheering.

That's the right kind of attitude He continued his smiling. I made the team in my 1st year, and well I missed my second. Right, because of his accident. I would have loved to tryout for the team again but My Foster Father forbade me from doing so.



No Not at all. He told the young Hufflepuff girl. I'm Oakey by the way, I don't believe we have met yet?



Oakey looked and waved back to Minnie. Then gestured for her to come and sit with the rest of them. He looked around for a moment and aside for Professor Romanos the crowd seemed full of Huffies for this Gryffindor and Slytherin Match. He began to laugh at this. It was very funny at least to Oakey anyways.




Oakey calmed himself of his laughter as soon as Sophie mentioned what it was that he was laughing so hard about. I guess we are. Who are you gonna root for? He asked her.

Ella smiled when Sophie arrived. "Hey Sophie!" She said happily. "I didn't think anyone would be here either. I don't really know anything about gobstones honestly..."

Ella smiled at the boy and held out her hand. "Thanks, I'm Ella! I don't think we've met before now though I'm sure I've seen you around...nice to finally meet you!"

Sophie giggled when she saw Oakey laughing by himself at... well, she didn't know. That was what it made it look funny. "I don't really know yet..." she answered looking at the players. "I have friends in both Gryffindor and Slytherin!" That was a tough choice... "I think I'll root for whoever is winning! Heh. That was easier! She would probably root for both teams on the same match then. Tadah! Brilliant idea! She grinned. "What about you?"

"Gobstone is not as exciting as quidditch, but it can be fun too!" She said happily, looking at where the players where.

Yeah...Was all he replied back to Ella shaking her hand.He turned his attention back to the game to watch as it progressed. If He had to cheer what would he cheer about, What was Gobstones anyways?

I think I'll root for both teams. He told Sophie, I need to brush up on my cheering anyways.

WOOH! Oakey blurted out! NICE STONE THROWING KURUMI! He cheered for the 5th year Gryffinfor. NICE PLAYING SLYTHERINS! KEEP IT UP, HIT THAT...uhhhh. HIT THAT STONE IN THE MIDDLE THERE
Oakey would need to brush up on his Gobstones lingo.

"Well all I can say is that you have more confidence of my abilities than I do but thanks for saying that."Alyssa smiled back at him. Then she heard about his not being allowed to play and his wanting to form his own cheer team. She wondered whether his ban had anything to do with what happened to him last Summer. She had totally forgotten to ask him about that but reminded herself to ask him about that.

"Hey that would sound great. I know the team would love the support at each game. You should team up with Aaron. He always comes up with the funniest costumes to wear as the house mascot. I bet you'll do great as the leader of the cheer team, Oakey."Alyssa encouraged him. She knew that Aaron and he would get along really good.

"Hi everyone. Isn't it weird that there are most Hufflepuff students here than either Gryffindor or Slytherin?"Alyssa laughed looking around at the other students on the stands.

Kennedy made his way down to the Gobstones match that had been announce at the common room. He's never been one. Ever. He didn't even know what it was, but he came to root for his prefect partner, Selena. When he got there he noticed a familiar face from one of the staff members.


"Hello, Professor Romanos," he greeted with a smile. He then sat down and pulled out something from his back trouser pocket.

He held the small flag in his hand and began to wave it. He was totally clueless as to what was going on, and it didn't seem as action filled as Quidditch was, but he was staying there. "Go, Selena!" he cheered.

She'd be able to hear him right?

Ella followed the older hufflepuff's gaze and noted how many Hufflepuffs were in the stands for a match not even involving them. She laughed at how odd that was. "It is pretty weird...guess we Hufflepuffs just have more spirit, right?"

Sophie just smiled at the others' comments about the number of Hufflepuffs there. She had her eyes on the players again. "GOOO, SLYTHERIIN!! WOOO!!!" she waved her arms around as she shouted.

Then Gryffindor made a good move. "ALRIGHT, GRYFFINDOR!" Their prefect was good! Sophie liked her! "GO, PREFECT!"

Aaron who? He asked Alyssa. It would even better if their was an official Hufflepuff Cheer TEAM and if he could meet this Mascot of theirs it would truly be the greatest team up.

He laughed some more when Ella also noticed the lack of other houses at this match and even more when Alyssa noticed it as well. If we keep this up house points will fall into our laps Oakey jested.

Go! SLYTHERDOR! GO! GRYFFERINS! that was a clever way to combine the competing teams.

After giving a polite smile and nod back to Miss Bishop, Medea had turned her attention back to the match. She was sure that the area was going to keep as silent as a mouse throughout the whole match. Her breath was even being held so she wouldn't breathe too loud. Until...

It started progressively becoming louder until the point where she took in much needed air for her lungs. Right. She should've known that even if precision and accuracy was needed, quiet was a foreign invader in this game.

Oh look, it was that boy with the cool pin.

"Good day, Mister Escalante." she greeted in return. Oh darn, perhaps she should've brought something to cheer on the two teams.

Alyssa was surprised that Oakey hadn't met Aaron yet. "You haven't met Aaron? Aaron Roberts. He's the school clown and prankster. He usually wears a Badger suit when we have our games. He's our House Mascot. He would be happy to team up with you." Alyssa told him. 'Now if only they can actually meet each other. It's hard enough for me to keep track of where he is and I'm his girlfriend.'Alyssa laughed to herself.

"Yeah I'm really proud of the Hufflepuff students this year, especially the first years. They are really working so hard and helping to earn points for the House. Professor Hadley must be so proud of everyone right now." Alyssa told Ella and Oakey.
