Tate didn't waste any time once the decision was made, and he led Miss Hollingberry back out to the grounds. Vegetables? The ginormous spider was hanging out with vegetables??

"So... Professor Scabior. And friends. What do we have here?"

Driven out of his home, the Chimaera stalked through the grounds of this new strange place. His large tail swished a couple of times as he walked and saliva dripped from his jaws.

He was hungry. He was ALWAYS hungry.

As luck would have it, he spied some humans just up ahead and he quickened his pace, ready for an attack. But as he got closer, he saw one of the forest beasts lying upon its back and the humans standing around it. The chimaera did not like this one bit.

A low grumbling growl emitted from his throat to make his presence known.

Nate was strolling along, and he wanted to see the vegetable patch for the first time. So he went to the vegetable patch. When he got there he saw a chimaera. He almost fell over from the site of the three headed beast. He pulled out his wand ready to stun the creature but then he saw the headmaster. He saw many other people. Then the adrienaline hit him. He couldn't help but scream in mortal terror. He got all shaky. He wasn't sure what to do. He was stunned so he couldn't say the spell. He was just to afraid.

Kurumi followed the quick strides of the Headmaster as they returned to the vegetable patch where they found everything to be exactly as it had been when she had left. Kurumi looked at the fallen acrumantula and then back at Professor Scabior and finally back to the Headmaster. She wasn't sure if he was asking a rhetorical question or not in terms of the scene in front of him. It did seem rather obvious after all.

But then...she heard...a growl...and it was not the growl of a certain stubby-legged cat that should know better and be back in the Gryffindor common room. Ever so slowly...she turned her head.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME...

Now joining the party, as it were, was a creature with lion's head, a goat's body, and a dragon's tail...and it did NOT look pleased. Had the chimaera been friends with the acrumantula? Oops.

Kurumi's wand flew out of its holster, but she did not perform any sort of spell just yet. The acrumantula hadn't taken well to it and she highly doubted that the chimaera would too.

"Headmaster...we've got company..."

And then there was another screaming Hufflepuff. It had somehow become a habit of the prefects to cast Silencing Spells on badgers this term, and she was tempted to do so this time as well. Screaming was only going to agitate the creature and make it attack. Thankfully, he wasn't too far away from where she was and was able to reach out and grab his arm, tugging him beside her and Headmaster Tate.

If he kept screaming though...then she might cast a Silencing Spell again, bringing her total of silenced Puffs up to three.

Nate felt the tug on his arm which made him shut up. When he was next to the prefect and the headmaster he got up with his wand. He then whispered to the prefect "What should we do? I dealt with one back home but that one is locked in the basement. Should we stun it. Or should we wait until the headmaster tells us what we should do. because right now I am freaking out. I never had to deal with something like this. Unless you count the thestral. But if not then this is my first time face to face with a dangerous creature that will actually try to attack. I think it's thinking we're it's next meal."

Of course they were glad that he had showed up. Like two children would actually be able to handle the giant spider. They would have been eaten within minutes. Scabior just noted as the Gryffindor went to go and get the Headmaster. He turned his attention to the tied up creature. It still wasn't moving but he had expected it to.

It didn't take long for the Headmaster to arrive. "A quick way for your students to end up dead." He said dryly. Because that was one of Tate's top messages right? Don't die? "The Acromantula just randomly made it's way over here." Out of the forbidden forrest where it should have been.

But he couldn't say anything else before someone let out a shaky scream, turning his attention toward the NEW creature that had arrived. "Scratch that. Found a quicker way." Scabior turned to the Hufflepuff who kept talking. "How about you help us Mr. Jones by placing a hand over your mouth."

Scabior pulled out his wand, sending another set of ropes at the Chimaera.

When Nate heard the professor say that he took out a bandana. He always carried it around in case of emergency. He put his wand in his holster. Then put the bandana in the palm of his hand. He folded it into a triangle and put it around his mouth. Then he tied it fast and tight. He then reached back down and grabbed his wand. Hopefully that would keep him from talking. If he talked he would then tie it tighter. Nate got ready to send any type of spell at the monster just in case.

Kurumi sort of just stared at the younger Hufflepuff as he spoke. Could she cast a Silencing Spell on him now? Three for three? But then, Professor Scabior stepped in and said pretty much what she had been thinking - with just a little more force behind it and much more blunt. In the next moment, the boy was tying a bandanna a around his mouth to prevent him from speaking.

Wait...seriously?! What was the first year thinking?! He couldn't perform spells like that!

However, Kurumi's attention was averted when Professor Scabior conjured more ropes towards the hungry looking chimaera. Following his lead, Kurumi gave her wand a whirl. "Incarcerous."

If they managed to rope this creature too...then what were they going to do with it?

Oakey managed to get himself out of the castle yet again. After finishing some of his homework he thought it would be nice for a stroll around the grounds.

As he made his way closer to the Vegetable Garden he saw Nate and Kurumi. He took to a slight jog to catch up to them, as he got closer he noticed that Head Master Tate and Professor Scabior were there as well. He stopped suddenly as he reached the gateway leading into the garden. W-w-w-w-was that a-a--a-a-a Ch-ch-Chimera! MERLIN'S UNDERPANTS!

Instead of rushing in to hide behind any of the Professors, Oakey stuck his back to the white fence and felt his chest to make sure his heart hadn't stopped. Peaking his head slightly out to watch Scabior shot ropes from his wand at the beast.

It seemed like he had barely arrived and they were suddenly presented with yet ANOTHER dangerous creature. THIS WAS MADNESS. It was strange enough to find a hippogriff or an acromantula out on the grounds like this, but add a chimaera to the mix... and it was beyond mere coincidence.

And then one of the charming youngsters was screaming and overreacting and generally making a nuisance of himself. NOT HELPFUL. "I suggest you regain control over yourself, lad, before you becoming more interesting to that creature than it can overcome by mere caution."

At least it wasn't a Gryffindor this time.

Speaking of. "Yes, I'm aware," he responded a bit dryly. He saw the creature in question, and he was fully cognizant of the fact that it was unwelcome and dangerous. And Williamson had his hands full, so they were going to have to deal with this themselves.

"Can you keep an eye on the younger students, Miss Hollingberry? Discourage them from approaching the beast."

"Yes, well, I continue to make it my goal to avoid death and destruction at Hogwarts as much as possible, but you know how that goes. Make a resolution and it suddenly becomes impossible to keep it." Tate was dry as toast today, and it didn't help that Scabior rubbed people the wrong way.

"Is the acromantula fully contained?" Because he wanted to focus his attentions on one at a time if that was possible.

The Chimaera was already sensing that these humans were going to do something so he began to move backwards a few steps. He had already set his gaze on the human he wanted to eat. He just had to avoid the other ones first.

With another rumbling growl, the Chimaera saw the ropes flying in his direction and he darted out of the way before taking a running leap and with a flick of his tail, he knocked the legs out from the older human who had thrown the ropes at him.

He sailed over the other adult human and when he landed, he took a swipe at the human girl, knocking her out of the way as well.

With all his obstacles out of the way, the Chimaera stood in front of the little human and he licked his lips. Oh he was going to enjoy eating this one.

Let's see how loud the small boy screamed when he sunk his teeth into him.

With an almighty RAWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRR, the Chimaera pounced towards his prey.

Wand still at the ready, Kurumi gave a quick nod towards the Headmaster before positioning herself between the Hufflepuff student and the creature. At least he wasn't screaming now, that made things a little less complicated.

But then, Kurumi saw Oakey hanging out by the fence and her eyes widened. MERLIN! What was it with Hufflepuffs this year?! It was almost as if they had a death wish or something. "Oakey, stay there," she hissed under her breath. Not that the fence was going to prove to be any sort of obstacle for the creature should it decide to try and turn him into an Oakey burger...

Looking over her shoulder now at the Hufflepuff nearest her, Kurumi lowered her voice. "Nate...I suggest you either lower your wand or remove that bandanna from around your mouth. You won't be able to cast any spells that way." Her gaze then shifted back to the chimaera as it paced and gave the group a hungry look. As long as it stayed where it wa----

Like a bolt of lightening, the creature pounced, knocking Professor Scabior over and leaping over the Headmaster. Kurumi flicked her wand and attempted to cast a Knockback Jinx, but the chimaera was too fast and its claws connected with her right arm and threw her like a rag doll out of the way. Kurumi eventually landed several feet away from where she had just been and heard a loud cracking noise. MERLIN! She had broken her back! Slowly, she reached behind her back and...oh, never mind. It was only a carrot.

She attempted to push herself off the ground, but her left arm collapsed under her own weight and a sharp pain shot through it and up to her shoulder. The chimaera had also given her a pretty deep gash out of her arm and she figured that she was done for...

...until she saw that its sights were set on the little Hufflepuff. Hopefully he remembered the Headmaster's command of DON'T DIE.

Nate the untied the bandana like Kurumi said. When he saw it pounce knocking her back he had to hold in his scream as hard as he could. What should he do. The only spell that would be affective here that he knew was stupefy. Not even that would do that much damage to the creature. Nate thought about this one. Then he remembered. Hopefully winguardium leviosa would work. So he finally said "Winguardium leviosa." Nate got extremly nervous if that would work. But he had to concentrate on the spell or else it wouldn't work and then he would be dead.

Oakey nodded his head up and down frantically as Kurumi quietly demanded him to stay put. If his human lucky charm said to do something why go against it.

But things seemed to turn for the worse as Professor Scabior and Kurumi were both tripped up by the Chimera! Kurumi! Oakey yelled as Kurumi hit the ground hard. His eyes stayed on the Chimera though as he watched the beast go for the kill on Nate!

Tarantallegra He shouted his wand pulled from his robe pocket and directed his spell at Chimera peaking his head and wand hand from behind the fence. He wasn't sure why the dancing spell was the one that came to mind. It was in the heat of the moment and he needed to do something to keep the Chimera from getting to his little Hufflepuff comrade. A spell to immobilize the Chimera would have been better but Oakey didn't know the rope conjuring spell like Professor Scabior or Kurumi did.

Nate reached for his pack, but he was still stairing at the beast to make sure it doesn't try a sneak attack. He was searching all around his bag when he felt it. He knew it was it because he felt a bit of a sharp pain in his arm. He then pulled it out and it was a carved rock and some rope.

He then looked all around and found a stick on the ground. Next he dove for the stick, and ran to cover. While he was behind the cover he took the sharpened rock and started to bang it against one end of the stick. Slowly it started to make a dent big enough for the rock to fit into the little wedge. He then put the flat end of the sharpened rock into the wedge, and tied it tight with the rope. Now since the stick was about 4 feet he had a spear. He then came out of hiding spear and wand in hand. He raised the spear and pointed it at the creature. If it would charge it would charge straight into the tip of the spear

Ranog was unconscious when the Chimaera made its appearance. A shame really because they could have made a formidable pair. But all was not lost. While the humans were busy trying to fight off his fellow forest beastie, Ranog was able to shear through the ropes that were binding him with his pincers.

Once he was free, Ranog got back onto his eight hairy legs and loomed behind the small boy who was foolish enough to think that he could fight off a Chimaera with a stick and a stone.

"Foolish boy." he hissed as pincers clicked together. In one swift movement, Ranog picked the boy up by the back of the robes so that his feet dangled in the air.

Nate was about ready to cast a spell on the chimaera but then he heard a terryfying voice. Before he kenw it he was up in the air. He then started to flail his arms around. He managed to turn around and look at was dangleling him from the air. Oh my god it was an acromantula. Not only was he afraid of spiders, but now he had two things to deal with. He then slipped out of his robe, and landed on the ground with a thud. He got up, (thankfully his wand and spear weren't broken) and turned around. He then thrusted his spear at one of it's giant eyes. Hopefully it wouldn't just bite off the sharp pointy part. He then drew it back. Next he dove over behind something. He aimed his spear at the acromantula, and hurled the spear towards another one of it's eyes. "So I see you speak english acromantula. To bad you won't be able to speak any more soon." That's right he just said that. Nate was standing up to his fear. He wouldn't back down without fighting first.

Scabior had no clue whatsoever why the boy would cover his mouth with a bandana. The last time he had checked, covering your mouth with somewhen when a beast was about to attack would not make casting spells easier.If he was that dull, maybe getting eaten would be for the best.

And another Hufflepuff joined the group. Would it be too much to throw a tomato at the third year, who clearly did not have sense enough to run?

Wow, nice joke Tate. "It was stunned before I roped it." It looked like it would be knocked out for a while. The creature was big but they had sent a number of stunning charms at it. Scabior didn't get the chance to say anything else before the creature quickly leap over his ropes and flicked tail at him. The sudden force of the Chimaera's tail sweep sent him crashing onto the ground, on his side. Luckily, he landed in a patch that was mostly dirt.

Whoever said that being a Professor wasn't a physical job was lying.

Scabior pushed himself off the ground, just in time to see the Acromantula back in action. "See I can agree with you on that." He would agree with you giant spider. Luckily the boy had enough sense to get rid of his robes. Unfortunately, that was the only bit of sense he had. "Accio spear!" He called out, causing the make shift weapon to change it's pace and fly into his outstretched hand. "YOU would not like it if someone through a pointed stick between YOU'RE eyes would you Mr. Jons?" And if the boy said yes, Scabior would certainly try. Without another word he took the stick and broke it in half, then flung it at the puffs feet.

He was almost ready to side with the Acromantula and Chimaera now.

Speaking of the two animals, if the spider could speak English..."Just a thought here...if you two were to return to the forrest things would be much easier for you. And us. And the world really."

Nate just stayed hidden where he was because he didn't feel like getting eaten. Once an awhile he would peak out from his hiding spot. Only to see though his robe was almost shredded to pieces by the creature. If it could understand english there would be alot of cussing involved let's just say that. It would not be pretty. He had to pay so much money for those robes. He was going to give them to his younger brother if he could. Looks like he can't now. Thanks alot acromantula. Then Nate said "Yeh why can't you just go back to the forbidden forest to where you live. There is plenty of fresh meat out their. So why don't you just eat that instead of students." Spiders, Nate never liked them.

Logan was wandering around Hogwarts, and decided to visit the Vegetable Patch. He smiled, but then it faded as soon as he spotted the...Acromantula and everyone fighting...whatever that thing was. Logan froze, and stared at the Arcomantula, and began shaking. Man, why was he running into all these...creatures lately?! The staff at Hogwarts should be more protective or something....

Logan gulped, afraid of making any movement or anything. He had a terrible fear of spiders-and had never laid eyes on one this big in the Muggle world. Ahaha. No way. He gulped again, glancing around for anyone else that was here. He then spotted Nate, hiding. He was shaking so badly now and his face was white as snow. He really did hate spiders.

This had suddenly gone from a slightly dangerous situation to a very dangerous one, and Tate was only mildly irritated by the Hufflepuff that had gone all Gryffindor in their direction. Was likely to get himself killed to, and that made Tate VERY cranky.

"Don't be a fool, boy," he addressed Nate with a sigh. Hollingberry should just pull the kid's wand and stupefy him. It would be safer for everyone if he wasn't trying to fight off dangerous creatures in hand-to-hand combat. They weren't cavemen.

"Acromantula! Give us your name so that we may address you properly. Why have you left your forest and entered our grounds? You know that you do not belong here." It wasn't that he was ignoring the chimaera, but more that he wanted to try to reason with the creature that could actually TALK.

Naye was starting to think. Maybe if he could convince the acromantula to attack the chimaera instead. It might work because the chimaera has more meat on it then all of them combined. But then again he would probably get yelled at by all three of them, so never mind that plan. Well his plan was to stay there until something charged at him. That's when he would dive to the side. Unless if they surrond them on both sides. Wait, Nate just thought of a better plan that wouldn't necissarily be his fault. If they would surrond him by both sides, he would dive foward. Which would make the two monsters collide into each other. Also if the acromantula somehow tastes the chimaera, then it would attack that instead and problem solved.

Kurumi's arm was throbbing and beneath her black robes she could feel the fabric of her white shirt dampening just a bit. Great...and she thought that without playing Quidditch this term she would be avoiding the hospital wing.

Helpless to everything that was going on, Kurumi simply laid on the ground very still and attempted to calm her breathing. When she had done so enough to think straight, she picked up her wand and performed a quick swosh movement over her injured arm. "Inurio Bani," she whispered. That would have to do for now.

Kurumi watched as the Headmaster and Professor Scabior attempted to speak with the Acromantula and, freakishly, she was jealous. Talking to a creature like that?! HOW NEAT! Her eyes then shifted to Nate...who looked like he was thinking of trying something foolish. Would it be bad if she cast Immobulus on him? "Nate," she hissed from her spot on the ground. "Just back away and let the Headmaster and Professor Scabior handle this." Since, you know, they were attempting to negotiate with the creatures.

At least Oakey was listening, right?

Er...Logan was real scared now. He wanted to leave. Just...go back to the Common Room where he was before this...madness. He gulped, and slowly backed away, feeling slightly guilty he didn't do something to try and help. But he knew he couldn't. He could not take one step towards that...giant...spider. Logan shuddered as he glanced at it, and then before he knew it, he was running as fast as he could back to the castle, not daring to look back.

Alex had been looking for Logan and had checked everywhere but the Vegtable Patch so far, so here she was! Just as the third year spotted Logan he began running in her direction looking like a giant spider had threatened to eat him, then she spotted the spider and the headmaster, the prefects and another member of staff. I don't think Logan had been near the spider but the thought of going any closer must have scared him. Anyways Alex was happy because she got one part right, that he ws running from a spider! "Logan it's okay." She shouted to the running first year. She ran towards him to escort him to the castle then noticed how big the spider actualy was. So Alex being Alex ran the same way as Logan. Both petrified of the big, wait thats an understatment in her mind, HUGE spider.
