'He means to intimidate me, make me feel cornered.' Maxwell thought. "Am i supposed to feel worried because she tells you things? Or because you think you know something about our relationship or my eyes?" Maxwell laughed. "Do what you will in this 'Competition' but get one thing straight, Taylor is a person, and the one of the kindest i know. Not some prize to be had for the taking, And if i ever hear you speak of her in that way again you will one day regret it." He said.

Damon couldn't believe this guy's audacity. "Huh, and I'm suppose to be afraid of a guy who can change the color of his eyes?" Another lesson from Puck, tease, tease, tease. "And last I checked, I never said Taylor was some prize. She's much more to me." He sneered, "Just shows you're the one who doesn't truely care about her. To sit here, and worry about me. Jealousy kills my friend, would do you best to remember that." Damon sighed, "And after all, this 'competition', as you put it, it's pointless." He rolled his eyes, "Because someone would need more than just muscle to scare me away." Damon chuckled, "I guess it's fair to say it. You'd also need a brain, which you seem to be lacking." Damon smirked, Thank you Puck...

"I can do much more than that." He said venomously."But i'm tired of hearing you speak, since that's all you're good at. You're just a coward with a big mouth and nothing to stand behind it. I have a mind, Just not one i would waste on you. We're done here, I'll be civil to you around Taylor. But don't speak to me again." He said and walked away from Damon hoping to find Taylor.

Damon rolled his eyes, figure's... he was actually starting to enjoy acting like his father, "Aw, but we were having such fun." He said sarcastically.

Maxwell did even turn back or act like he heard Damon. He hated him and all of his jokes and all of his words. Maxwell felt nothing bu malice toward him, but for Taylor's sake he had to at least act civil. they had after all made an agreement.

Taryn didn't fancy gardening, but the vegetable patch was a pretty quiet spot, so she figured it would be a nice place to sit after the loudness and craziness of the Quidditch Match.

"Alright. So, you win." Taryn held up Auggie's hand in the air, declaring him the winner. Even if she DID get her team by default, she didn't care. She held her wand up like a microphone, "Tell me, Mr. Goldstein, how does it feel to be the winner?"

August was certainly in a better mood than he was when he had shown up for the Championship Quidditch match he had thoroughly enjoyed watching the Hufflepuff team beat the Ravenclaws and take the victory. And now he won the bet between himself and Taryn.

He chuckled when the slytherin held her wand to his face as if it were a microphone. "Well, Miss Hayden it feels great. I think I will go to Disney World now!" He had always seen the muggle American football players saying that after the Super Bowl. "So are you going to hold up your end of the bargin?" he asked her with a grin.

"Will you be taking your girlfriend with you?" She asked, still using that fake newscaster's voice.

Ah. The bet. Drat. She'd sort of been hoping that maybe he'd forget? OH WELL. Looks like that wasn't going to happen. Taryn stuck out her tongue, but crossed her heart with her free hand, "I'm a woman of my word."

"Of course, if she wants to go to the States that is." He hadn't ever been there and he didn't have enough money for a flight, much less two tickets...and then he would have to bring a parents and her father would probably want to come along to chaperon. This was starting to get expensive already. Oh wait.

She was eh? "Well well well...Um...Im going to have to think of something good." He had had one thing in mind but after thinking about it, it definately was too lame for a good bet.

Taryn just laughed at that and took a seat on the grass, twirling her sparkly wand in the sunlight. "Well, good luck with that. Until you think of something good, I'll be right here."

She grinned. "Have you ever been to Disney World?" Her dad had taken her once, but she was far too little to remember. "Maybe we can do that this summer?" The summer was going to be FULL of things.

"Oh you won't have to wait long, so don't get comfortable." Yeah he was going to come up with something good alright. He just didn't know what it was yet. Maybe something to do with the forest? Auggie hadn't been in there yet.

As he was going through his brain for a good dare for Taryn to do, he was a bit caught off guard by her question about Disney World. "No I actually have never left the country." Sadly, it was true. He really would like to go somewhere else one day, his family just never really could afford anything that big with his father's teaching salary and his mother's job at the department store. "Maybe we can." Although he doubted it. He was almost too embarrassed to say anything about it at the moment though. "You can also come over to my house sometime. Well, if you wanted to..." he trailed off as he picked at a loose thread of his yellow, 'I'm supporting Hufflepuff sweater'.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Until August put his bet where his mouth was (or something like that) Taryn wasn't going to worry about it.

"I was wondering when you were going to ask me that." She admitted. They HAD just spent a whole school year as a 'couple' right? If he hadn't asked her to visit over the summer, she would have been worried. "I was thinking I could visit you over my birthday.... after I get back from Greece."

Oh yeah.. she hadn't told him about that yet...

"I was working on asking you!" he said nodding quickly as he looked at her with an incredulous look. She couldn't rush him, he had to work on that sort of thing. Auggie had never had a girlfriend before and he wasn't sure on the protocol for all these sorts of invitations.

Her birthday would be nice. He would tell his parents before hand obviously so they could plan a nice dinner and such. "Sounds good. It will be nice to spend two birthdays of your's in a row together." They would have been dating a year and a month or so by then. That was crazy talk.

Speaking of crazy talk...

"Greece? What on Earth are you doing there?" he chuckled.

Taryn just grinned. "No pressure." Hehe. He still technically hadn't asked yet. Not REAAAAALLY.

"And yours too." She pointed out. After the school year started again, that is. Granted they were... you know, not broken up by then. Errrr.. "Do you think your parents will like me?" What if they DIDN'T? O_O. Did that mean they'd have to break up? Why WOULDNT they like her? Huh.

"I'm going to Greece with Mo." She smiled at that. Yep.

Heh.

That phrase, 'No pressure' usually, no ALWAYS implied quite a deal of pressure. Something Auggie certainly didn't want to deal with. But he had already asked her, just now right? Yeah, so he was good.

He just smiled and nodded at her comment about his birthday. Certainly would, although they would be back at school in November. "My parents, liking you? Of course. Why wouldn't they? Do you think you will like them?" he said in mock horror, playfully pushing her arm. Her worry made him want to laugh. His parents would surely like her and well, if not, he wouldn't care. He did.

Her answer to his question about Greece caught him really off guard. "Oh?" She was close enough with the boy that had barely said five words to him, to run off to Greece with each other? That was odd. "Well, that could be fun. I will write to you." Not that he was jealous or anything he sort of began to think he was.

"Becaaaaausse." Taryn started... not sure where she was going with this anyway... "I don't know. It just... it feels like something I should be worried about?" Maybe it wasn't, since he didn't seem to think so, "Are you worried about my dad?" Probably not, right?

She shoved his arm back.

"I've been wanting to go ever since he told me about it. It must be lovely, don't you think?" She just kept grinning, oblivious to his thoughts (or non thoughts?) about jealousy. "My dad met his cousin and everything, he said I could go." So, if it was parent approved, it was boyfriend approved, right?

Not that Taryn had figured she needed approval to visit a friend. Naaah. She wiggled her eyebrows at him, "You will?write to me?" OH YAY. "Maybe I'll write back."

Heh. JOKINGGGGG.

Well obviously he was nervous to meet her father. He couldn't imagine how upset the man would be when he finds out that he had been dating Taryn for almost a year, that would be if she told him as soon as she went home from school. "Um, not really." he said cooly. Yeah, he lied. What guy wasn't nervous to meet the dad? Even though they hadn't kissed yet.

"Oh so you guys are good friends then? It's too bad we never really got to talk much besides that one time he was...busy or whatever with yearbook stuff." The boy was a little weird but Auggie wasn't one to judge. He would just have to definately check in with owls. He trusted Taryn's judgement. "I bet it is nice. All the old buildings and such."

A look was sent her way when she said she might write back. "You better, or else I'm sure the Owl Post Office in Diagon Alley has some very persistent owls I can chose from." You know the ones that won't leave you alone if you don't reply or pay them.

Huh. Well, maybe Auggie wasn't so nervous about this whole thing like she was. He, after all, only had to meet one parent. She had to meet both.

"Well, we've been friends all year now." And Taryn had only been talking about going to Greece since she met Mo in Diagon Alley and fell in love with his accent. "You might not even recognize me when I get back though." She grinned and nudged his arm, "I foresee an awesome tan in my future."

Yes. It would be nice, "I'll take lots of pictures. It'll be like you were there too." Yeah! What an awesome plan!

She nudged his arm again, "Would you really send me an owl that would peck me until I replied?" GIGGLE. That was funnyyyyyy.

A quick look of thought crossed Taryn's face shortly after he had lied and said he wasn't worried to meet her father. She did seem a tad nervous about his family so he wanted to reassure her again. "I'm positive they will like you Taryn, why wouldn't they? Oh and my sister Slyvia is already dying to meet you." he said rolling his eyes. That girl was crazy sometimes.

Hmm well friends were ok then. He had Kurumi and Taryn had been very understanding of their friendship even though there had been enchanted feelings at one point. He had to be as trusting. "We you should go and have fun. I can't wait to see the pictures." And her, with her tan. But he didn't say that out loud.

"Maybe, if you don't reply to me I will have to do so." he chuckled. He wouldn't do that.

Well, okay. That did make her feel better. Taryn's smile pulled at her lips, "What is it like, having a little sister?" Her father had never so much as dated again after her mother had died, let alone gotten remarried, and she didn't have any siblings.

Maybe Auggie's sister could be her honorary sister!

She raised an eyebrow. She hadn't thought much about it before, but... he seemed okay with her leaving for a few weeks. It wasn't like they lived next door to each other and would have seen each other every day, but two weeks was a lot of time when they could have seen each other.

"Are you going to miss me?"

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Oh yeah, Taryn didn't have any siblings. "Well she's great. Slyvia's nine and goes to my old Muggle school where dad teaches. She's..." he wasn't sure how to put this and then decided just to say it. "She doesn't have any magic yet. I don't think she will though. My parents said mine started way earlier and the worst part is she's waiting for her letter." It really was kind of sad, but he didn't have the heart to ruin her hopes.

"Yeah I'm going to miss you! Are you going to miss me?" he asked with an overly exagerated batting of his eyes. She better.

"Oh." Oh indeed. Taryn hadn't actually thought about that. She sort of forgot that Auggie's family were Muggles, because, well, she'd only ever seen him in magical surroundings.

Plus, she'd never met his family. "That's sad... do you think she'll figure it out on her own?" That... she wasn't magical? "I think every witch and wizard show magic at an early age... I dont think it stays dormant." Sad though! How cute would it be to have Auggie's sister at Hogwarts?

"Nope." Hahaha. She grinned.

Yeah it was sad. "I think she will realize eventually, probably when she turns eleven and her letter doesn't come." The image of that happening sort of worried the lion. "But my parents keep reminding her. But I still let her look at my books and stuff. It makes her feel better."

"I think you're right but it just doesn't seem fair that I get it and she doesn't." He wished there was a way to share.

"It's not fair, but let's look at it this way... at least she's not the only one in a house full of magical people." At least it was the other way around and Auggie was the only magic one in a house full of Muggles.

She nudged his arm, "Have you decided on the bet yet?" She was ready to get it OVER WITH.

Hmm...

Auggie had never thought of it that way. His parents had no idea what they were missing being Muggles and really seemed as if they could care less. Obviously they were very excited and proud for him but the desire that Slyvia had shown was never present in their faces. "I guess that is a plus. I wouldn't want her to feel lonely and out of place." Taryn was beginning to cheer him up everytime he was worried or upset. That was a good quality.

OH! "Yes I have." He stood up from the pumpkin he was leaning against and took her hand pulling her closer to the Duck Pond. "Come and see..."
