The Vegetable Patch

Not even ten feet away from Mr. Murdoch's hut sits a nice sized vegetable patch surrounded by a white picket fence. Its four rows of vegetable beds are blooming with produce, all according to season of course, and if you're lucky, Waylon may have left the shed in the back open for you to try your own hand at gardening.

Seeds, spades, gloves and anything else you might need can be found inside, just remember to clean up after yourself when you're finished!

Erin was making some sight seeing towards the newly renovated Hogwarts. Yes, renovated, because the last time she was here, there was nothing like this and there were new additions too. She would say, she missed the lasts, but she also adored what's surrounding her this time.

Erin danced while walking towards a green... vegetable patch? A what? There was a vegetable patch in Hogwarts?

She half run to the greeny place. As a little kid, she was used to these colors. Mum's so fond of plants and her garden could have every Muggle plant there was. Too bad, when she died, the plants also died without care.

No sooner had she returned to Hogwarts that Ari received a letter from her mum urging her to get plenty of fresh air. Hmph. Her mum was sure Ari was going to bury herself under a pile of books in the library, which, to be honest, was exactly the Gryffie's first thought. But she didn't even have homework yet, so she decided to follow her mum's advice for once.

The lake and surrounding area were too crowded, so she headed in a different direction. Ariadne spotted something that looked like a vegetable garden and went closer. 'Any tomatoes over there?' she asked the other girl, realizing too late that she might have startled her. Like Gwen had said, Ari couldn't greet people like a normal person.

Sidestepping onto one plant to the other, this seemed like the happiest ever.

And then she heard someone called onto her, well, not her name but Erin was very sure, the call was addressed to her. She was the only person around. Or else, there was someone, someone who was unseen.

"Hey! You like tomatoes?" asked Erin from afar. "I hate them!" Why would she loved them? They're so red. They looked like Mum's pimples when Erin's little sister was in her womb.

Having had finally digested the giant meal he had. Oakey set out to walk around the grounds. He was curious to see if there was anything new and different.

He found himself close to the old hut. When he heard something being yelled about Tomatoes. That's a strange thing to yell about Oakey thought. He inched his way closer to what seemed like a garden. He peeked over the white fence to see a girl dancing around on the plants. Hey, you! He called out to the girl. What about Tomatoes?

he looked around and saw that this wasn't some magical Herbology garden, but a normal vegetable one, No Man-Eating-Plants in here he thought. This looked just like the one that Granny Gunter has back at home. Oh cool, he hoped over the fence only to catch the back of his robe to it and fell flat on his into the soft brown soil. He sat up and rubbed some of the dirt from himself off. He then looked around curiously. didn't I hear another voice? he asked the girl.

Erin looked over to the... other sound not really knowing who it was. She only knew where it came from. It came from there. At the gate leading to the vegetable patch. And it was a man's voice, it almost sounded so familiar yet not.

What did he called her? You? Erin was sure the call was directed to her, the echo was literally directed to her and she was the last one to speak. "Hey you!" Erin shouted with her lungs. "I have a name! My name's Erin!" she shouted once again now directed towards the guy and the other girl who expressed her love for tomatoes.

And then the figure fade out of view. Wait, what happened to him? Erin hurried towards the shouting boy, well, nosy shouting boy and she found out that he was a Hufflepuff. And he was already up. "Did you just fell?" asked Erin suppressing a laugh.

Elliot decided that she wanted peace and quiet. She was in the midst of writing a letter...to Dani. Her sister. She actually missed the 8 year old...she should probably write one to her sister Sam as well. The 4 year old would feel left out. She fidled with thr charm bracelet that Jayden had bought her, not realizing what she was doing...suddenly, her eyes widened. WHY AM I STILL WEARING THIS?! she thought to herself. She tore the bracelet from her wrist and threw it in the dirt. She watched as the charms turned from red to the silver that they started out with. She scowled, and quickly took out Dani's letter. She desperately needed to finish it!

Yeah, I guess I did Oakey smirked. Darn Robe is just a little to long. He felt bad, was very rude to the girl he was calling over to who is now standing in front of him. Oops! So sorry Erin, My Name is Oakey, Oakey Richard Gunter. He saw that she wanted to laugh. No harm in letting it out Oakey said talking about her laughter. He began a fake chuckle to get her going on hers.

And once again Katie had found another new area that will soon be invaded by Katie.

She skipped around the place, as much as she loved candy she loved to eat veggies, it made her feel healthy and fit. She stopped to look at the vegetables, and then looked at the shed, open, she was able to plant her own veggies! SHWEET!!!

Katie wasn't going to plant by herself though, at least not now. She looked around for someone, but saw everyone was occupied talking to each other, Katie wasn't going to interrupt them. Katie knew someone would appear soon that she knew and they shall plant veggies and be awesome, yup, Katie is a fortune teller ._.

John wandered around and found himself in the vegetable garden. He was looking around and he notice a very family face skipping around and chuckled.

"Hey skippy" John teased as he walked up to his girlfriend. He wasn't a big fan of vegetables, the only reason why he ate them was because it kept him healthy and in good shape, besides exercising.

He smiled as he hugged Katie, and looked around. Dang alot of vegetables. Hehe.

Hannah was out and about roaming the castle and grounds by herself. The best way in her mind. She was just about to turn around and head back to the castle when she noticed a girl throwing something into the dirt. She wasn't going to pay any mind to the girl, but noticed that she looked familiar. Ah yes it was that girl that thought very highly of herself. She would never forget Elliot ever since set met her in Diagon Alley. She decided to approach the girl and show off her Slytherin robes. "It's Elliot isn't it?" She of course knew it was Elliot there was no mistaking the smirk that was permanently attached to her face. "Did you enjoy the feast?" Hannah looked down at her robes and back up at Elliot with a classic Elliot smirk on her face. That was not a question she really wanted an answer to.

See? What did I tell you? Katie knows the future, and the future came out even better then she planned it to be, being it was her boyfriend who had appeared and not some random person. Katie giggled as he called her skippy, really? Skippy? She hugged him back smiling.

"Hey John" She said as she stopped hugging him and smiled up at him. This was a great time to ask what she had been hoping to ask who ever came, "Say John, we you like to be the best boyfriend ever and plant some veggies with me?" Katie said sweetly.. HE BETTER SAY YES! or else Katie shall still feel the same about him and go plant the veggies by herself because they weren't going to plant themselves.

It's Elliot, isn't it? rang in her ears, and Elliot almost snapped up st whoever this apparently ignorant person was....who DIDN'T know Elliot, hmmm? She looked up, ready to rip into her, when she saw it was Hannah. Lockwood. Hmm...two could play at this game.

"It's Hannah, isn't it?" She asked with a smirk. She quickly stood up and brushed herself off. She had left her robes upstairs, but her blue and bronze tie suited her well.
"It was all right. Ignorant people ruin everything," she replied with a roll of her eyes. She then Shot the girl a genuine grin.

"Oh, I saw your sorting...you're in Slytherin! How exciting:" she said as she folded her arms across her chest. She then peered down at the slytherin crest on the other girl's robes, looking impressed. "It's beautiful..." Was all she said.

John sighed and smiled, obviously he was going to help her.

"Uh do I have too?" John joked almost sounding like a little kid.

"Just playin' of course I'll help you" He added as he rolled up the sleeves of his white button shirt.

Hannah did not respond to the question about her name. Instead she smiled at the girl. She had to admit there were similarities that even she could not deny between them. "The food was good." and that about summed it up. She had met some people, but not too many that she really thought she would be genuine friends with.

She could tell that Elliot was a tad envious of her sorting, but decided not to press it. Afterall she kind of liked her. "Thanks. I'm pretty proud of it." She honestly was a proud Slytherin. Her parents would be so proud. They should have already received the owl she sent them informing them of the good news.

Hannah could tell that the thing Elliot threw into the dirt now that she was closer was indeed a bracelet. She looked back up at Elliot with a puzzled look and asked "Not your color?"

"Yes you have to" Katie teased, she knew he was joking, because she was forcing him now, Katie giggled and took his hand leading him to the shed so they could get the tools and seeds, she looked at the vegetables, which one should she choose?

Katie looked up at John, "What veggie do ya wanna plant?" Katie asked him, as long as he didn't pick a veggie she didn't like she was cool with what ever he chose. While she waited for his answer she picked up tools she needed, because she was a serious gardener.

Elliot merely nodded,not paying attention as she was still studying the crest on her robes. Finally, she straightened up. The girl remained with her arms crossed, still deep in thought. Sure, she was envious. But she had grown to like being an eagle.
"As you should be. Many slytherins go on to do great things..." She commented. Afterall, her father had been a snake...she then smirked. "Your parents must be proud, eh?" She asked, lifting an eyebrow at Hannah.

She glanced down at bracelet when Hannah pointed it out. The now silver bracelet lay in tje dirt, and Elliot had to resist the urge to step on it. She bent down and picked it up.
"No...it was a gift from someone," was all she said, her eyes narrowing. As soon as she thought of that Jayden, the bracelet In her hand turned a deep red.

"It's a mood bracelet. The color and charms change color according to your mood..." She stated as the charms subtly turned into little prongs of fire.

John followed, with a smile on his face.

"Carrots?" He said as he really didn't have a favorite vegetable he want to plant.

He noticed Katie picking up tools, he did what he thought any gentleman would do and picked them up himself.

"I got it, beautiful" John said as he nicely took the tools from his girlfriend and smiled. "what vegetables, do you want to plant?" he asked.

Harlow wandered around the grounds in a daydream sort of mood. It wasn't too cold out yet so it was perfect exploring weather. "A vegetable garden," she mused as she happened around the grounds keeper hut.

This was a treat for the pint sized vegetarian. And the garden looked healthy and mouth watering.

"Yeah I'm sure they are. I sent them an owl right after the feast." Her parents would be more than proud actually. She felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. There was only the house of Slytherin...the other ones did not matter.

She couldn't help but to be a little curious about what happened bewtween Elliot and the person that gave her the bracelet. She kind of wanted to know who this other person was. She squinted at the bracelet...it seemed nice enough and a mood bracelet at that. She had never seen one of those before. "I take it that you are not on good terms with whoever gave you that bracelet?" That much was obvious, but she didn't want to seem too nosey.

"Carrots sound good" Katie nodded, she liked that veggie, she picked the seed for it up and then looked at the other seeds, "How about we plant some potato too?" She asked picking up the seeds for it, Potato was the best veggie ever and your opinion isn't cared for.

Katie smiled as he took the tools off her, she could have held them, but she wasn't going to ruin the lovely moment, "Thanks" She said as they went out of her hands.

While Hannah was waiting to get information out of Elliot she saw another girl walk up that looked like she was practically drooling at the site of the garden. On second glance she thought she looked familiar. She knew that she had never met her, but she had seen her somewhere...maybe at the feast. Hannah pushed up her sleeves and decided to introduce herself. "You look familiar are you in Slytherin house? I'm hannah by the way." She couldn't be sure if she was in Slytherin or not will all of the other houses that were surrounding their table during the feast.

Elliot nodded. Naturally. Elliot remembered doing the same thing last year, but after being sorted into Ravenclaw. And her father had NOT been proud at all. Hmm. Hannah was so lucky.

She furrowed her eyebrows when Hannah asked if she wasnt on good terms with Jayden. No, she wasn't!
"No. She was my friend...a good friend, too. But she was completely rude and mean to me last night at the feast..." She scowled. She then held the bracelet out to Hannah. "You put it on! I wanna see what color it turns...and what the charms turn into," she said. And she decided to give it back to Jayden...in person. She wanted to see the look on her face...

She turned and looked at the girl that Hannah adressed. She, not wanting to be rude, held out her hand as well.
"And I'm Elliot. The more important one of this duo," she said sarcastically, giving Hannah a smirk...heehee.

Why must vegetable? Why didn't they make fruit garden? Raven loved fruits MORE than vegetables. Oh, that's wrong. SHE HATED VEGETABLES. She noticed on the vegetables..

"Merlin, They looked horrible." she murmured.

"Nice to meet you Oakey Richard Gunter! Oh! I already saw you at the train." He was definitely that guy. The guy with the gum in his hair. So Erin was allowed to laugh at the fall? "Quit the chuckle. I know it's fake," Erin smiled and stuck her tongue in a friendly way.

Long robes. Those were just so annoying. Why wouldn't he fix it with a tailor? Or his Mum? Or someone who knew how to knit. "You should make it shorter then," Erin suggested. The guy didn't seem to know what to do with his problem. "Hey! If you want to, I can fix it for you. I'll cut it to your size and..." Oh! Was Erin being so charitable towards a Hufflepuff? She noticed his scarf just now! "Wait, you're a Badger?"
