And she was teasing him. Oliver liked it.

Well he kinda expected that she hadn't ever gone surfing before. Medea really didn't look the type but at the same time she did look as though she would give it a go. "I stopped competition surfing but I still go out for the fun of it." He wiped his mouth with a napkin and then threw it into his now empty bowl. "Would you ever try it?"

Oliver raised an eyebrow and almost asked her if that was an invitation but stopped himself. he had just met the woman. Didn't want to scare her off. "I'll have to remember that." he said with a grin before standing up and holding out his hand to her.

"Probably not. But I know a few good places if you're game?"

Aw, so he did go out every now and then. Medea shrugged her shoulders, but nodded anyhow. "I'd try everything once." Well, almost everything. She had her limits as surely did everyone else.

Looking up to him, she eyed the hand for only a moment before she grinned. It'd be nice to have a proper guide to explore the castle without the danger of becoming lost. "I have nothing else to do right now." She took his hand and stood up, grabbing her folder of papers and quill with the other. "If ve can stop by my office first though."

Really didn't want to be walking around with these the whole time.

"Didn't you HEAR the old centaur?" screamed Max. "He didn't like the feeling it gave off. Perhaps YOU picked my pocket! YES!"

Max calmed down for a moment so that he could address Fina.

"It's a long story that involves Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb, Fina," he finally answered and pointed to Dash and William.

"I'm not looking by myself. The two of you were with me and so you'e BOTH going to help."

Wait.

What? Fina tilted her head at Dash, frowning. What did being an idiot have to do with carrying an orb? What was so bloody important about the orb thing anyway?

"Okay .... " Fina drawled, blinking. "... but that still doesn't explain much." Like why Max was carrying an orb; didn't he prefer quaffles and bludgers?

Why was Max screaming?

Ugh.

"Well fine then. But clearly you boys need a female brain present with you," Fina said, hesitantly, emphasizing on the boys. "So OBVIOUSLY, I'm going to have to escort you three in looking for some mysterious orb thing, that probably was thrown out the Divination Tower." OR something. Where else could it have come from?

"Of course you can come with us," Max replied. "But there's a few things you should know - we found it in the Forbidden Forest, Thereos refused to touch the orb, and the Tweedle twins were scared to even hold it for more than 2 seconds."

He laughed. "Are you still willing to help us find it or did I just scare you off?"

William gripped the edge of the table hard as Max continued blowing out his eardrum. His hearing was still sort of... out of it as the flying professor then carried on an ordinary conversation with Josephina, just like five seconds ago he wasn't acting like a toddler.

Crazy. Man.

"First of all," he muttered loud enough so that BOTH could hear, "Scabior and I are NOT Tweedledee and Tweedledum." Those titles belonged to him and OLIVER, ahem, and Waylon was Tweedledummer whenever he was around.

"Secondly, we were NOT afraid to hold the stupid orb." Max. "You were the one that lost it, so you should be the one that finds it. Not that it matters anyway." So what if the centaur was afraid the orb would throw the planets out of rotation or whatever? SO WHAT. "I'm going to bed," he added as a belated sort of announcement, grabbing a sandwich as he stood up from the table.

Gemma walked up to the table just in time to see...well no..hear Max throwing one heck of a fit...something about an orb and his pocket and no one wanting to touch it...his pocket?...

When she finally made it up to her seat, she leaned back in her seat enough to glance down at the man still yelling about his pocket and that orb...was it the same orb that Thereos had mentioned...had to be...

She glanced down and said to the closest professor to her, "I guess I've missed all of the fun...but what is Max saying about his pocket and the orb and others being afraid to touch his pocket?" she said trying not to giggle because it sounded odd but she knew by Max's reaction that it must be something important.

Oh good. She was welcome to come help search for it. Thereos didn't want to touch it? Peculiar, but centaurs did have a certain viewing of the Divination arts compared with humans.

"No. I'm in." she said, simply, shoving a large spoonful of potato salad into her mouth as William spoke up his case.

Saying nothing useful, except that he was going to bed. But ... blink... no.

"Coward," Fina said simply, in an undertone that was just barely loud enough and clear enough for the Creatures Professor to hear. She knew he would have heard it.

Ah and there was another person arriving who was just as clueless as she was about the orb. But it did sound intriguing, nonetheless.

"Apparently, Max and company discovered an orb in the Forbidden Forest," she explained, catching Gemma up, though it only just occurred to her as to wonder WHY they'd been in the Forest to begin with? William. No doubt. He WAS the creatures Professor AND he was trying to get out of searching for the orb. Clearly he knew something.

"But the orb is now lost.... someplace on the grounds, and we ought to find it..." before students did it. Merlin only knew WHAT the orb was about. No doubt a means of divining.

Standing up, she glanced at her colleagues. "So.... shall we venture out into the night?"

Hearing the muttered word 'coward' coming from the mouth of one of his colleagues had William stop in his tracks, one foot on the floor of the Great Hall and one still on a step from the dias, his sandwich halfway to his mouth.

"Excuse me?" his voice rang out coldly as he turned around to GLARE at the Hufflepuff professor. "I may be many things, but a COWARD I am NOT." He was no stupid Gryffindor, that was certain, but he DID have a sense of honor at least.

Fine. He was NOT going to bed. He was going to lead the charge to the PATHWAYS instead.

"It's not in the forest," the man clarified in between munching on his sandwich. "It's somewhere between the pathways and the Great Hall, because I KNOW I saw it once we were clear of the forest." He was still glaring at Josephina Hadley. "If anyone's a coward here...." His eyes flicked toward Scabior, "it's those who aren't going to follow ME to the forest."

And he marched out of the Great Hall without further ado. TO THE PATHS!

Finally she understood...yes that made so much more sense than what she had interpreted....and before she could even reply to Fina...she saw W Cubed storming out of the Great Hall and towards the pathways...

She stood up and then hesitated...yes she wanted to follow because her curiosity had gotten the best of her...but she had just arrived and she was starving....but she had to think about the safety of the kids...and the historian in her wanted to see what all the hubbub was about...but she really didn't like being taunted by being called cowardly.

She glanced back at Fina, "I'm game...why not..." she said motioning towards the fellow professor to come with her.

But the intrigue of it all got the best of her and she shrugged her shoulders and headed out the door after W Cubed...she didn't make it as grande of an exit as he had...I mean she didn't want to draw attention to herself and cause a riot with the students....
