One of the most rewarding things you can do in your seven years at Hogwarts is win the House Cup. It is not an easy feat, but with a little effort and a little perseverance anything is possible. In the common room, a poster of a lion may be found on the wall by the noticeboard. Here, the names of the top five achieving students will be displayed beneath the lion and will be updated on a regular basis. The lion is enchanted, and will purr affectionately when approached by one of the top students, however if you have been lazy, don't worry too much. He can't hurt you, though he might try to take a swipe at you with his paw. Good things he's just a poster.
To be in with a chance, be sure to attend all your classes and complete any homework assignments in a timely manner.
United we will conquer, divided and we will be defeated.
OOC: Welcome to the Roar Awards! Here I will post the top five students with the highest house points. To give Gryffindor a fighting chance at winning the cup this term, all you need to do is get involved. Lessons and homework will earn you points, unless of course you break the rules, then you will lose points. But the main point is to keep spirits high and do whatever you're comfortable with. If you have been absent from classes, or lacking time... but want to see your name on this honourable list, then don't fret. There are always opportunities to make up points. Participate where you can. EVERY post and every homework submission counts. If you're not the studious type, then pull on your socks and boots and make your way out to the grounds. The Founders' Fandango provides you with the opportunity to have fun, flaunt your athletic ability in front of others and most importantly, to earn tokens. These can be exchanged for house points at the end of the event.
Give it all for the red and gold. OOC: Well done young Lions, your efforts are appreciated. Remember! if you cannot attend a class for it's entire duration, it does not mean you cannot post at all. ONE post a day is better than none. EVERY bit counts. ALSO: please READ Professors OOC notes and their WHOLE posts... otherwise we risk LOSING house points. So thank you, good luck, and roar!

Keep up the hard work Lions. Do not be discouraged. WE are disadvantaged, and yet WE aren't doing all that bad. Only 14 points separates us from the Badgers, and only 79 points separates us from Ravenclaw. With a bit of effort, and a bit more attendance, we can easily get them eating our dust!
Don't have time? ... spare yourself 15 minutes each day to post in a class (or two) EVERYTHING counts.

With the term well and truly underway, it's time to pull your socks up, put your gloves on and get a little dirty.
Only 155 points separates us from the lead, and only 86 points separates us from Hufflepuff. Let's not let them beat us. We are Lions, we are predators and we back down to nobody. At this stage, the House Cup could be anyone's. We may not have the numbers, but we have the spirit, and if we all band together then ANYTHING is possible.

In true spectacular fashion, your top five are kicking butt! Gryffindor are the first House to have TWO of their students over the 200 points mark. Collectively our top five are destroying the Badgers, Eagles and Snakes. So why are we coming last? It's because we CANNOT rely on these five alone! WORK TOGETHER! GET INVOLVED! and GET MOTIVATED!
If you're having difficulty keeping up with your classes and homework, why not track down one of your top five and beg them to help you out or point you in the right direction?
Gryffindors are renown for their bravery and chivalry, but it does not mean they are not intelligent, ambitious or loyal. On the contrary, we Lions are so much more than that. So let's not give in, let us stand tall and proud, and persevere.

Do you want glory? Do you want to be in the top five? Well it's not too late to catch up. Remember to check the Noticeboard for all your class and homework information. EVERY post and EVERY homework submission helps! It ALL counts! 1 point, 5 points, 10 points... it will ALL add up when it counts.

Well done Lions! for not giving up! I can see the fire is still burning, remember to remain focused, do not take your eyes from the prize. Our target to beat Slytherin, is still achievable, in fact, I would even say our chance has phenomenally increased. Why? Is it simply because we're awesome and we know it? Is it because WE will stand up to them? Or is it because THEY have slacked off?
YOU, yes you... the one eating the chocolate frog and staring at the wall with the Lion poster on it.. YOU can make a difference! How? ... The term is slowly coming to a close, OWL's and NEWT's will soon be starting, finals will commence, and the last of your homework will be submitted.
