Oakey's spell bounced off the skrewt like it was nothing. It's hard shell must repel all manner of spells, He stood up quickly when Professor Jenkins yelled for the Skrewt to get off him. He watched as Logan began thwacking the creature with a stick and hard. Don't Do that! Oakey thought What if you miss and smack the Professor instead! He rushed over
Logan, stop smacking it! He said catching his breath and holding his side. Oakey took his free hand and grasped the top of the stick before Logan could swing it once more. Stop, You're making it angrier.


As Oakey finished telling Logan to stop, The Blast-Ended-Skrewt quickly back off of the the Ancient Runes Professor and what looked like to Oakey as a Hesitant run back into the woods. He turned and ducked when he heard the fart come from the woods but the flame barely reached them. Better safe then sorry right. Looking down at the Professor Jenkins Oakey put his hand out for him to help him up if he needed it. Thank You Professor, I don't know what we would would have done if you hadn't shown up. They would most likely be a pile of charred remains lying on the pathways no doubt. I wonder what he got so worked up about? He noted quickly that the Skrewt had the upper-hand but ran away for some odd reason.

Avery walked along the pathway, looking towards each side and admiring the surrounding wildlife. It really was beautiful hear and she was settling into her new school life very well and all the students had accepted her willingly enough.

She just hoped she'd make some new friends soon, someone in her own year perhaps though she didn't mind which house they were in.

Ella just nodded her thanks to the Professor, thinking what Oakey had said was exactly what she would have said. At the last moment however she ran at the tall man and hugged him. She hoped that Jenkins wouldn't hate her now that she had dragged him into a mess like this and was thankful he had agreed to come in the first place. Letting go, she backed away from the Professor and looked down at her shoes.

"You would think it was scared or something...the way it ran away from here."She added, thinking it odd that the creature, who was winning the battle clearly, had given up so easily. "Hopefully nothing scarier comes to...play."

It was a beautiful morning in March, so Amelia decided that it would be a good idea for her to exercise Pixie with a nice jog along the pathways. And that was why she was out here in what she deemed to be her 'jogging clothes' running in place with her Pygmy Puff in her hands.

"Okay, so we're gonna have a nice time on the pathways, Pixie."

*SQUEAK SQUEAK*

That was a yes, so she placed the Puff on the ground where she started to bounce a little. That was good. Reaching into her pocket, Amelia pulled out a small bag that contained a bit of the cupcake from yesterday in it. Running her finger over the icing, she gathered a fair bit before carefully closing the bag and placing it back into her pocket.

*SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK*

Pixie bounced more than ever. Amelia knew that her pet had noticed the delicious icing on her finger, and wanted to lick up up now. Her plan was working.

Without another word, she started to jog away from Pixie. "Come on, girl!" She could hear the Puff squeaking and bouncing after her.

Making sure not to go too fast so that Pixie could keep up, Amelia made her way along the pathways until she had made a circuit and ended back where she had started from. She had jogged the whole pathways and she now totally out of breath.

Stopping, she breathed in and out deeply in order to get more air and settle herself down. She waited for her breathing and heart rate to slow back down to normal as she Pygmy Puff still bounced up and down in an attempt to reach the icing.

*SQUEAK SQUEAK*

Pixie was saying that she was tired of waiting for her treat, so Amelia scooped her up with one hand before offering her the finger with the icing on it. Pixie licked it up eagerly.

"Good girl, Pixie."

Alex walked up the path, he saw a girl on her own...Here's his chance!!! He starts to walk faster up the path and casually starts walking next to her. She looked really pretty, but he decided to make her laugh first.

"Do you believe in love at first sight, or do I have to walk past again?" He asked her with a grin.

Did Avery just hear what she thought she heard? Wow, she had no idea to do or say, so she just laughed and looked the boy who had just spoken in the eye. She knew that her chocolate brown eyes were sparkling and they were her best feature.

Hmm, she wondered, what should I say. "Hi." Well, wasn't she a fail

"Sup," Alex looked this girl in the eye, she had crazy cute eyes!! "I'm Alex" He said still walking. "Do you want to sit down?"

She grinned at Alex, white teeth gleaming. "Hi Alex, I'm Avery." They walked side by side, two strangers completely content in each others company, sweet. "Sure." She said and they walked over to a bench and as they went to sit down, Avery tripped slightly and ended up sitting on Alex's lap instead.

As Alex sat down, he saw Avery trip he tried to catch her but she ended up on his lap. Even better outcome for him! "Well, it's nice- nope, amazing to meet you, Avery." He said, he looked at her close up now, her eyes were so intense and she had the cutest face! "So, what house are you in?"

She chuckled softly at Alex as he awkwardly tried to catch her, but she landed on his lap, she didn't move off it either. "Haha, you too Alex, you too!" She laughed, her eyes dancing and a grin playing at the edges of her lips. "I'm in Hufflepuff, but the sorting hat said I almost went into Ravenclaw. What about you?" She said, smiling up at him.

"Oh, that sucks, because I'm in Ravenclaw!" He said, laughing. She was so cute! "So, you new here or been here since First year?" He asked

"Hey, no knocking Hufflepuff. Though if I had the choice I'd be Ravenclaw and now I have an extra reason to like Ravenclaw!" She said with a wink. "Ummm, this is my first year at Hogwarts, hence why I was alone earlier, but I'm in fourth year. I was really ill for three years before now. And what about you?" She grinned at Alex, not really knowing what to do next, he was really sweet and funny and..yeah, she smiled.

"Ok, no more dissing Hufflepuff" He said with a grin, then he laughed. "I'm a fourth year too!!!!! I moved here from New Zealand for my older brother and sister." He saw a loose strand of hair dangling from the side of her head, he hesitated. Too soon? Oh well, he was going to take the risk. He slowly raised his hand and put the strand of hair behind her ear. He waited for a reaction, hoping it would be a good one..

"Good!" She said sticking her tongue out at him. He had the cutest grin in the world she swore. "Wow, that's cool!!" she said still looking up at him, then she saw him looking at her in a...way? Well, she couldn't describe it. Then he reached up and tucked a stray piece of her hair behind her ear. She blushed delicately and grinned at him.

"Haha thanks" He said. He got the reaction he wanted, but he didn't know what to do next... He just looked into her eyes for a moment and then grinned. "So, you have many *cough*guy*cough* friends?"

"You're welcome," she said, grinning at Alex. She laughed at his next question. "Nope, not really..but you're--" well, she didn't know where she was going with that, she just ducked her head, her cheeks going slightly pink and the hair behind her ear fell lose again.

The sixteen years old dropped down on the wet grass with a thud and a faint squash sound. It was the driest spot Louisa could find in such a weather, also her uniform wasn't really that clean anyways. She shouldered off her messenger bag and took her book of Charms out. It was time for one of her revising sessions but this time she thought coming out of the library was a good idea.

Finally, she took a yummy worm out from her bag and started chewing on it as her eyes scanned the page.

Evelyn strolled along the pathways, feeling a little cheerful. Most of her homework had been done and she'd even got a major part of her reading done as well..so her stress level was quite low.

She tucked her hands in the pockets if her jeans, her ponytail swinging from side to side. The girl even had a small smile playing near the corners of her lips. And then...

Evelyn stopped when she noticed Louisa sitting on the grass between nearby. Huh. So, what now? She definitely didn't want to talk with her since she creeped her out MAJORLY but it would rude to just ignore her...right? Sigh.

"Erm..hey." Evelyn gave a nervous smile.

By the corner of her eye, Louisa felt someone hovering nearby. She ignored the person since that was what she'd been doing for exactly three weeks now. The girl was stressed and needed every single moment to study and take her mind off-

... huh? The voice seemed soft and familiar. The Ravenclaw lifted her head and spotted THE hufflepuff. She pursed her lips, making a straight line, and spoke, "Did you come here to gloat?" You know since her and Joao are almost over. Evelyn never showed up at the three broomsticks that day but that didn't mean it was her fault that Louisa messed everything up.

It had to be Eve's fault. Who would it be if it wasn't Eve's? HUH?

"Not interested in whatever you're intending to do." she bit her candy hard, returning her gaze to the book in her lap.

Gloat? That's it. Evelyn was going to get straight to the point. "Louisa. I know you are Joao's girlfriend and I also know that you seem to think I was going around with him..or whatever." Thanks to Adam and...to the guy she met in the grounds. What was his name now? Paulie? "I. Did. Not. Go. Out. With. Him." Evelyn said, emphasizing each word. Honestly, she needed to get the whole ordeal over with. Louisa seemed to be getting weirder everytime they met.

"I just can't believe you didn't talk to me about this. Do you know that this guy called me 'the other woman' sometime back? Do you know insulting that was?"

Evelyn glared at the ravenclaw before she settled down on the grass. She crossed her legs underneath her and waited for Louisa to apologize. Yes, she definitely expected an apology.

Louisa expected a HA! sound or something like that but what she'd gotten was a series of words - weird words too. Her jaw dropped open as she listened to Evelyn.

She knew? About the whole thing? And... wait what?!!! She wasn't even aware of the... dilemma? Uh oh. Someone made a big deal out of nothing.

The Ravenclaw dropped her eyes to the book in her lap, without really seeing it, and went quiet for a moment. Thinking. How did she know? Or, well, how much did she know? Clearing her throat and trying to drown her embarrassment, Louisa cautiously met Eve's eyes, "H-how do you know all that?" Because she didn't tell the Evelyn issue to anyone. Except Paulie who witnessed the whole fight! D:

"Listen.." she scooted closer, her tone much softer, "I'm.. I don't know what to say to that. I thought you were going out with Joao and I don't think I really... blamed you for that. I just... I was furious! Because he was my boyfriend and seeing him with another girl the way I did.. it wasn't cool." As for why she blamed Evelyn... Louisa didn't have the answer for that.

"Who called you the other woman?" Eyebrows raised, Louisa had no idea what 'guy' Eve was referring to.

Evelyn was glad that she finally managed to get the whole thing out. In fact, she started to wish that she'd never met Marcy. It was his fault and Louisa's fault..obviously. However, Louisa's response surprised the seventeen year old. How did she know!? Did it even matter? "Well, someone told me." Evelyn said, stating the obvious.

Evelyn noticed the fact that she said 'was my boyfriend'. o_O Did they break up because of her? "Yeah..well, do you know that there is something called 'friends'? Just because a guy and girl hang out, doesn't automatically mean that they are going out, you know." Evelyn was proud of her new found courage. Usually, she wouldn't have the guts to talk to someone so..strongly? "Anyway, I'm surprised that he didn't tell you that." That they were only friends.

"Uh. Some guy. His name's Paulie..or Paul..or something like that." She'd met the guy a really long time ago so don't blame her for not remembering his name. Ugh. The other woman. She could feel her cheeks slightly burn in embarrassment.

Louisa felt guilty and awkward. Evelyn's tone didn't help at all and she might be right to use such a tone with Louisa. The girl sighed and dropped her gaze, her hand cutting wet grass absently, "You should know that I didn't use your name to rant over that. I'm not that mean. Only one person knows your name and it was an accident." Just so Eve knew.

"I know what a friendship is." The Ravenclaw didn't help but snap at Eve, quickly sighing and speaking again softer, "Listen, I have more male friends than female so, yeah, I know. It's just that Joao or Marcy, or whatever name he told you, is a very picky and cocky boy. Holding your hand means more than just friends." Her eyes drilled on Eve's with stubbornness and hurt. "Or so I thought. Whatever he meant by that, I guess you don't have anything to do with it." Which was only a reason for Louisa to be more ashamed of her action.

Swallowing hard and taking a moment to stare down, the Ravenclaw started again. "I'm.. I messed up big time I know. And I jumped to conclusions." She was so dead confessing these things, it wasn't Louisa-like. "I.. am sorry." Not that she expected Evelyn to forgive her. Louisa wouldn't forgive someone accusing her of cheating. "And... don't be mad at Paulie. It's in his nature to say the wrong thing." A faint smile playing across her face as she said so.

"Well, I'm very sorry but I've met like..three people who knew my name AND also were under the impression that I was..dating him when you were his girlfriend." Thinking about it was giving Evelyn the creeps. "Seems like that one person told a lot of persons." She could still remember the look on Adam's face when she said her name was Evelyn. Gosh.

Evelyn leaned back against the grass and stared at the sky, as Louisa continued to talk. Holding hands meant more than just friends? She turned towards Louisa, a confused expression on her face. "You mean to say that he was assuming something else when...hey, wait a minute. How do you know that we were holding hands?" Ooooh! Was she spying on them? If she was..well...that was just horrible. "I'm very sorry but you have only your boyfriend to blame for that. Why was he behaving like he didn't have a girlfriend then?" Evelyn was started to get a little frustrated with this conversation but it would be better if they just sorted the whole mess out.

Evelyn gave a slight raise of her eyebrows when the ravenclaw started to apologize. Okay. So..maybe..she wasn't that bad after all. "Apology accepted." Evelyn gave a faint smile. Oh, yeah. As far as that guy..Paulie..was concerned, "That was a VERY wrong thing to say. I didn't like it one bit."

Why the heck was she mad at the fact that so many people knew about this? It only gave her juicy reputation, that was good! Louisa didn't reply to that. She was not going to defend herself, she already said that she didn't go around talking about Evelyn. Her friends knew there was a girl but she never mentioned her name.

The next sentence, though, made Louisa grow both hurt and angry. "I don't know why he did when he's with me, OK? That's the whole point of me ruining the relationship." She shifted nervously on the ground, frowning. "And you don't have to point out the obvious just to hurt me. I'm going through enough without you asking the whys." It was obvious, wasn't it? Her boyfriend was becoming a player. Or maybe he thought Eve was prettier than Louisa... which she was. Taller, curvier, and certainly had a silky hair.

Louisa's frown turned to a pout as she thought those things through and she had to sniff and push them away. It pained her to be the other choice... or.. well, not the center of attention. That was so uncool.

As for Paulie... "No, really. Paulie doesn't have that part of mind that tells you what's appropriate or what's not. He just goes ahead and say whatever comes to his mind." And why was Louisa defending Paulie again? Since when did she care about the boy?
