A set of paths link the courtyard to various areas of the grounds. It's nice to walk along either on your own or with a friend. The trees on either side of the path help to create a light atmosphere. So go on, take your time and soak up the fresh air, heaven knows students need it.

Instead the stinger went up in the air and ohhhhh CRAP! Now Oliver had an idea what it was going to do.
SPOILER!!: The Kids
It didn't take a genius to work out that the stunners he was firing at the Skrewt were not making any impact at all and Olly was wracking his brain trying to remember how to deal with these things.
Merlin he wished William was here!
And the kids behind him certainly weren't helping. Oliver glanced at the Slytherin who had just walked up and raised his eyebrows. "Ya think?" And he was just going to stand there and watch, was he?
Oliver was not sure about Oakey's idea but quite frankly it couldn't hurt and it could cause a distraction so that he could get a little closer because he just remembered that for any spell to have effect, he would need to get at its fleshy belly.
"Alright this is what we're gonna do. You four..." he turned slightly to look at the youngsters and sincerely wished that he had kids with a little more experience..."cast the water charm at the Skrewt's stingers while I try and get underneath it."
He glanced at Ella and really wished that she had found one of the other Professor's. He was so not in the mood to have any part of his body burned. "You all ready?"
Aye Sir Oakey gripped his wand just a little tighter ready for what ever the Skrewt would do. He looked at Logan the 1st Year Gryffindor. He seemed to have gotten a little braver from just a few minutes ago, Oakey smiled.
Taking his free hand he grabbed a chain from around his neck and pulled his lucky rabbit's foot attached to it from out of his robe. Grasping it in the palm of his hand tighter than the grip on his wand.
It was very likely that Ellie had no idea how much it meant to him that she'd backed out of her brilliant idea...as long as she kept her word...
...also, he would've asked her to 'promise' it, but he trusted her. No need to do that, then.
Would he grow accustomed to deal with this Quidditch thing? Eventually? There will probably be a time in which he couldn't do this anymore, and it was a terrifying thought. Terrifying because he didn't see himself without Ellie right now, but maybe...over time...
...he'd rather not think about it, though.
For now, he'll enjoy the little time they still had left. Today, at least. "You know, we could still practice together, the two of us. I don't think Keefer will be opposed to that." Unless Treyen decided to practice with the Ravenclaw team in its entirety.
Okay, you know what? It was proving difficult to hear her, but that wasn't such a big deal. He'd much rather look into her eyes, truth be told. Was there something else wrong? That he wasn't aware of?
Wait, she said Eve? As in Evelyn? As in the Hufflepuff girl that was born the same day as him? "Evelyn? The sixth year Hufflepuff?" why would she say 'hi'? Actually, why would she tell his girlfriend to say that she said 'hi'? "She was at the game?" the girl liked Quidditch, even if she didn't play it.
Why had she thought of her in the first place?
Practice together? At first, Ellie didn't see how that made sense. She would be practicing Seeker and he'd be practicing...Well, whatever he wanted, really. But then she realized that she didn't care how much sense it made. That she didn't have to practice Seeker all the time. That practicing with Treyen just meant a little less time without him. "Okay." Sounded peachy to her. Hopefully Keefer wouldn't be opposed.
Or they could just leave Keefer out of it, yeah?
Yes, Evelyn. Ellie figured he'd know her, given that Eve was the one that told her to say 'hi' to him. And that they were talking all match about him. "Yeah. We were sitting together," she grinned, not that Treyen would be able to see. "Talking about you." HEHE.
"Actually, she was asking a lot of questions." Truth. What was weird, though, was that Eve never looked like she wanted to hear the answer. But, of course, Ellie supplied her with one. As an expert asker herself, she knew it was always better to be given an answer for your questions.

Not a Bang-Ended Scoot. Smh. *BURNS* *STINGS* *BITES*
Luckily for the humans, the skrewt did not speak English, or else he would have already done everything in his power to foil their plans. As it was, he carried on with his plan of attacking them all at once. Once his fart powers kicked in, that is.
Stinger still quivering, the skrewt felt the rumble deep within his belly that signaled an oncoming blast. He let out a premature, high-pitched baby fart that sounded like a warning whistle, and then it was time for the big blast.
BLOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!
The skrewt shot forward like a rocket, aiming for the center of the group of humans all clustered around the tall one. His intent was to knock them all down like bowling pins and then start goring himself on whatever limbs his sucker-like belly attachments could find. And stage one of his plan was successful: the fully-grown skrewt knocked into the gathering of humans like forty-pound bowling ball.

Logan noticed the skrewt charge, and before he could move or shoot a spell, he was on the ground. Oh, Merlin's Beard. "Why me?!" he said in his head, as he put a hand to his stomach. Man, that thing knocked the wind out of him!! He looked at the others. "You all okay?" he asked.

o_O This Skrewt was crazy!
Aguamenti! Oakey's wand shot a hard jet of water at the ugly crab, but had only managed to hit where the Skrewt had propelled itself from. I-It was twice as fast as it was the last time it shot itself at Oakey! Finite! and Oakey dove away from the group and slid on the ground to avoid being toppled on.
He turned on his back and arched himself up with his elbow Wingardium Leviosa! He shouted without thinking trying to get the ugly little thing off his classmates and professor.

Logan put his arms over his head, and heard Oakey levitate the skrewt. He shakily took his arms away, peering at the skrewt as it rose into the air. He gulped. Why was he being such a scardey cat?! He was a Gryffindor for crying out loud! Did being a muggleborn have to do anything with this scaredness? He stood up, his legs shaking, and pointed his wand at the thing, even though his mind was too busy thinking about everything but spells at the moment.

Ella was in shock. One minute she was standing, wand raised and the next she was on the ground, the wind knocked completely out of her. She tried to gather her wits as she noted that the skrewt was now floating. At least it was off of them for the moment. She looked at Logan, making sure he was okay and then to the Professor and other girl. "Y-you guys alright?" She stood quickly, holding out a hand to the professor to help him up. The other held tight to her wand which was now pointed at the skrewt. "Oakey, should I blast it with water again?" she asked, scared.

Had Oakey actually hit the thing ?!?! He looked down at Professor Jenkins to see if maybe the man had cast the same spell as he did. But then Ella had called over to him. I-I uh? sure I guess. why were they asking him he was just going with the flow of the moment he wasn't an expert at this sort of thing nor was he any kind of leader. That should fall under Jenkins shouldn't it?
He looked back at the Ancient runes professor. The underbelly of the Blast-Ended-Skrewt was just above him now. Oakey pushed his wand hand forward just a little to direct the Skrewt a little farther away from the group...you know just in case it decided to have a gas attack again.

"I-I'm er...f-fine..." Logan replied, glancing at Ella and then back at the skrewt, his wand still pointed at it. But he still wasn't saying any spells. His head was so full of...shock and such that he didn't have time to even think of what spell shot water out of his wand.

Logan watched as Oakey directed the Skerwt a little farther. Why wasn't Logan that brave? He sighed, shaking his head slightly.

There was a nod in reply to that. Treyen could even practice as Seeker once, maybe see who got the Snitch this time, instead of waiting for a game in which he'll have to play Seeker...because that wasn't happening. Certainly not when they had Alec. He'll have to take care of that little Hufflepuff.
Kita would have done so.
It was settled, then. They'll practice. Someday. Preferably after their match together, it'd be awkward to practice for the game in which they got to play against each other.
Okay. Back to Eve. Evelyn. They sat together? Good, he supposed. He didn't mimic her grin, but his smile was a rather wide one, why? "You were talking about me?" that's why he had a smile on his face, though it was mainly provoked thanks to Ellie's reaction. "What did she say?" WHAT did Ellie say? That was the most important bit of it all. ALSO, "She and I...she's the one who shares my birthday." Nod. Ellie knew her? How?
Er, wait. Questions? His head was tilted to one side, "Like what?" she was one very curious Hufflepuff, and so was he...when he wanted to, hence why they both ended up losing points.

The skrewt knocked Olivia backward, the Slytherin fell and hit her elbow! oouuuch she cried. She stood back up and watched as Oakey levitated the skrewt, probly cause it wont hit us again that way, Olivia thought.

HEHE!
"We were," she nodded. "She....didn't say a whole lot. She just asked a bunch. But she did say that you said that you were dating the Ravenclaw Captain." Which...by the way, Treyen Lockhart, why'd you leave her actual name out of it, eh?
Not that it was of any importance.
"But mostly we were talking about how fantastic a Chaser you are." More nodding.
So it was the April 10th Evelyn. "I kind of figured so. What with the name and year and house." How many Sixth year, Hufflepuff Evelyns could there be roaming around?
"Well..." HEHE. "She asked if I was your girlfriend." She was blushing again. Or more. "And if it was hard to play against you." Cue smirk.

Ella nodded at Oakey, he seemed to be taking charge more than Professor Jenkins at this point anyway, and then turned her attention to Logan. Why had she dragged him into this? She was sure he wasn't pleased about being here and well, neither was she. She then turned her attention to the other girl that was with them. "Yeah I mean, we could try hosing it while it's up there so it can't charge again..." but what if their spells made Oakey's not work...could that happen? Ella wasn't sure. She looked to the Professor for his take on the situation.

Moving quickly over to Sam, Gwen couldn’t figure out what could have caused him that pain. Narrowing her eyes suspiciously, the third year waited for a reply from him.
Hmm. Maybe it was a fracture. Maybe it was an open wound. Or maybe… the last Healing lesson had way too big influence on Gwendolyn. ‘Erm… what happened?’, she asked again and looked at Sam. Really. He definitely wasn’t fine. He was everything but fine. Or so it seemed…
Yes.It's bad.Sam felt the pain grows every second. He didn't want to answer but it won't be polite.

He looked around. . . 'It is a pathway. Not a place for sit down and enjoy during this winter.' He thought. "Gwen, can you help me to get near to that tree?" He asked her pointing out the tree where he was before he got hit by Gwen's snowball.

Well… she certainly hadn’t expected this. As she listened to the boy talk, Gwendolyn bit her lip. Considering the look on his face, the wound or whatever it was, was quite severe. ‘Oh…’, she mumbled. A broken leg. ‘Of course I will’, the young Ravenclaw nodded and looked around to locate the tree he was referring to. ‘Isn’t it a bit far?’ She’d like to help… of course… but walking would definitely make the pain even worse.
‘Wait-‘, she gestured with her hand and took out her wand, which she pointed at his broken leg. ‘May I?’It was probably best to warn him, right? It'd be very kind of her to explain him why it made her happy that they talked about him, honestly. He couldn't see the excitement in that.
Oh. She just asked questions? Treyen was about to interrupt her, but decided to let her finish. He was too curious. But since Eve was inquiring stuff today, that meant she said nothing of the lobalug, right?
Er, how fantastic he was? Blush.
He did nodded along when she'd figured out on her own who this particular Evelyn was.
So, they were both blushing now? How ridiculous they must look, no? They could blame it on the snow and cold weather.
"I'm assuming you said 'Yes'." That she was his girlfriend. Though, Eve must've known, no? She was wearing his jacket. He was super curious about something she'd mentioned, but he'll leave that for the end. "Also, that's right, that's what I said. I think YOU are the Ravenclaw Captain, no?" Ellie'd sounded different when she mentioned that, as if there was something that bothered her about it.
Now, "You were being too nice, by the way," about how apparently fantastic he'd been, "I just had a very good day." People had days, you know? "And, yeah, what you said about family also counts...but we have days off too." Like that one time Kaika went straight to St. Mungo's.
He was free to ask the one question he wanted an answer from, but he loosened his hold on her only to take her hand, the closeness remained, though. "Is it?" he asked, with a small smile, "Is it hard to play against me?" he knew she'd taken the loss that one time rather badly, reason number one for his stepping down the Seeker position. Not that they needed him there, really.

The grin refused to leave her face. She loved seeing him blush. Even more, she loved being the source of said blushing. If she could just throw compliments at him all day to see his face turn red, she would.
Well, yeah. 'Yes' was her answer. "You know, you shouldn't assume things." Words of advice from Eliana Stone. "But of course I did." Anything else would be a lie, anyway, wouldn't it? And she didn't lie. She prided herself on that much. Treyen would know. He was the same way, no?
Yes. She was the Ravenclaw Captain. "Last I remember." But she also had a name, you know. "... That's all you said?" The question kind of slipped out without much thought on her part. Sure, it had been in the back of her mind, but Ellie wasn't sure whether she should actually read into this too much. Too late now.
She shrugged. "Good day or not, you were fantastic." What a coincidence it was that he had a good day the same day it was his first time playing Chaser in a match. Ellie was convinced it was all due to natural abilities. Talent he inherited. Treyen could attribute it to a good day, though, if it made him feel better. Whatever. Heh. Besides, "I've yet to see you on one of these 'off days'."
Then she had that feeling of being suddenly vulnerable because of the absence of his arms around her. It was a brief feeling, though. Made worse only because of how cold it was out. But she quickly got over it and laced their fingers.
Ellie took a bit more time to answer for Treyen than she did Evelyn. Because he actually experienced when they played each other. And he might have a different answer than she did. So Ellie did that thing when she twisted sentences to mean nothing more than exactly as they were asked. "No." It wasn't hard to play him. It was more fun to play him than any other team. "When you're Seeker it's worse, but...No." And that was only because he was a wicked Seeker. She stood less of a chance with him.
It was hard to lose to him, though. Ellie wasn't completely sure why it was harder with him, when she looked forward to playing him, but it was. She supposed it just went to show that he was amazing. And so she put more pressure on herself to beat him.
Yet in the end, it really didn't matter either way.
"Is it hard for you? To play me?"

Oliver had not been expecting THAT! He had forgotten that when the Skrewt shot flames out of its butt that it actually caused the thing to propel forward. If he had of remembered that then he would have told the kids to get out of the way altogether.
But unfortunately he never got the time to say anything as the bloody thing came hurtling towards them. He never even had the time to get out of the way.
His wand was raised, rather uselessly, as the Skrewt barreled into him and he landed flat on his back with the Skrewt still on top of him. At least he had managed to keep hold of his wand.

"actually this weather only making it worse. Other than that it was healed. So if you know any spell to reduce the pain. . .ok yeah give it a go. . . . May be then I can walk back to the castle. . ," He was wondering what are the spells can be use at this time. He never cared about them before. Now he has realised that they could come in handy at anytime. 'i must turn some pages to find out them as soon as possible' he said to himself. This girl looks older than him.So she must've known something.
‘No. Not that’, the third year replied curtly. Please. Why would I use Brackium Emendo?, the young Ravenclaw thought and tried hard not to roll her eyes. That would remove brachial bones.‘I know a spell that heals minor injuries’, Gwendolyn explained. And she practiced it a few times so far, so there was no chance she could screw it up. Hopefully… Maybe I could cast Ferula? Naah. There's Episkey, but I don't really see the point of using it now, the girl mused. Or maybe it would work. It's better than nothing...
'Episkey!', she said loud and clear as she pointed the wand at his leg. ‘Any better?’, she wondered, looking suspiciously at Sam. Ughh… what if the spell didn’t work?, Gwendolyn started dramatizing. What if I can’t even cast the most simple spells anymore…!? ‘So?’, the third year asked again. She really was curious if that was of any help.
. . .Trust. . . .NO. . . One. . . . . . . .I can love you . . .

Looks like she's gonna do something. Sam saw her giving a wave to her wand. He closed his eyes. A Sudden much worse pain appeared and then poof . . . . The pain is gone. "wow. . . it's . .gone. . . Cool. . .thanks Gwen . . . "
He said thankfully. Meanwhile he moved his leg and no. . . No more pain. . .
" what do you think. . Will it come back. . I mean the pain. .? . . -and what was that spell? I dont think that I've ever herd that "
The grin refused to leave her face.
Wait. What?
She'd said 'No'? Because that's what people meant when they said--Oh, it was only an advice? Good. For a moment there she scared him. See how much power she had over him? One word from her could break him apart. It has happened before. But back to her real answer, "Good." And his smile was back, it had barely vanished, though.
Right. So he did nothing wrong by saying he was dating the Ravenclaw Captain. Never mind the fact that it was more than just dating when she was his girlfriend now, but..., what did she just say? Eh, actually, no. "About my girlfriend?" Because they talked about many things until Scabior interrupted them. How rude it'd been of him, right? "I also said she was perfect." He didn't lie about that one. About any of the things he said, actually. "I failed to point out that I love Eliana Stone, but that's really none of her business." Especially when they'd only seen each other a couple times before. Treyen didn't even know if Arya was aware of this or not, because he couldn't recall telling her.
Then again, his best friend was one that didn't need to be told in order to know things. Arya was simply incredible. She probably knew even before he realized what his feelings were.
Also, the whole 'fantastic' thing was making his blush stay around his face. No fair, Eliana Stone. His smile did falter only a tiny bit when she spoke of his 'off days', "You probably weren't in the stands those days." She'd missed a couple of his games. At least two. He wasn't bringing up the last one she'd missed, she had reasons for doing so.
Ellie wasn't answering him, by the way, so...as he waited for her to speak, he simply started to walk away, pulling her along, they should probably begin their walk to the castle, yes?
Oh. That's was good. It wasn't hard to play against him anymore? Nice. HOWEVER, she did mention the word 'worse', "Worse? That means it's actually a bit hard," or she wouldn't have said so.
He should've seen that coming. The question turned towards him. "Yes." It didn't take him long to answer. "I try not to play against Ravenclaw because of you." And he'd succeeded in the past. He didn't know if he could get away from this next game, though, so chances are he'll have to play. Keefer wasn't buying any excuses.
He could practice with her, but a game was definitely different.

"GETITOFFME!!"
Spells...what spells would get that thing off of him? Logan racked his brain for any spells, but it was so full of everything else. He felt so stressed, but he knew he had to help the professor...just...what spells? He then put his wand away, and looked around franticly for a stick or something. He spotted a long stick at the side, and went and grabbed it, and pushed (more thwacked) the skrewt off of the professor. He smiled. He used to play baseball all the time....

'Good.' Hah. Like she'd have said anything different?
Yes. About his girlfriend. About her. Ellie looked away, knowing that not thinking through that question was a bad idea. She shouldn't have asked it.
...Wait. Her eyes were back on him, an eyebrow raised. "You did not." As in, he could not have possible said that. That she was perfect? That was just...heh...wrong? Wrong. Yet she was quite sure her face could NOT get any more red. He needed to stop this.
Ellie flinched again at her full name. Her ENTIRE full name. Save for the part that will never ever never be spoken again. But she agreed. It really wasn't Evelyn's business if Treyen loved her, was it? Just knowing that they were dating should be more than enough information for her.
It was good to hear, though, at that moment. After they'd just fought/argued/disagreed/whatever they were calling it today. Her eyes wandered again. "You're crazy for that, you know?" Still, it was nice to hear.
Oh? She wasn't in the stands on those particular days? "Convenient," she smirked. Clearly, she wasn't buying that. Perhaps Lockharts did have off days, but from all she could tell, they must be during practices. That, or Ellie simply refused to believe he did bad, even if he wasn't exactly good that day. Blinded.
Really Ellie didn't mind staying outside. In the cold. It was probably best considering how warm her face was feeling. So, as Treyen pulled her to walk along, she silently decided to be the one to set the pace. Slow.
"Not hard," she shook her head, "Just...strange. And it's just more strange if you're Seeker." Because a part of her wanted him to win. She just wanted to win more. And she knew she wasn't the best loser. And she really didn't want to be...so...Ellie-after-losing-a-match to him. "But I still want a chance to beat you. As Seeker."
She stopped dead and gave Treyen a LOOK. "Do you really? You try not to play against me?" It would explain why she's played Hufflepuff loads, but hardly remembered him. Though, she'd just been attributing that to her awful memory. But come to think of it...she'd played him when she won the Championship, then played him..what? once? her fourth year. And then he'd gone and quit for whatever reason last term, only playing when she wasn't... "Why?" Obviously they were talking about it being hard, but hard how?

Why she looked away, he didn't know, but as soon as her eyes were on him...the Head Boy merely smirked.
Yes. He'd said she was perfect. He wasn't going to comment on her words, the smirk was proof enough that he, Treyen Lockhart, had said something Eliana Stone wasn't too thrilled about. It wouldn't be the first time, certainly not the last one.
So, the reply got no words whatsoever.
The blush on her face was more enjoyable in silence too. Another reason not to utter a single word...BUT...she couldn't keep quiet about it, could she? "What? For loving you?" he said oh-so-coolly, turning to look at her, "I beg to differ, of course." Always. He'll always beg to differ. Treyen kissed her cheek, she should stop and simply accept that.
Considering he didn't want to bring those games up, then he decided to chuckle. It was convenient enough that she hadn't been there, when he'd lost. But she should also attend practices and see for herself what he was saying about Messer earlier on.
Wait.
How come his walking had decreased significantly? It was Ellie, right? The one who'd decided for the both of them that they weren't going to reach the castle as quick as he'd thought? Yes. Well, he was fine with that, if that's what she wanted. Arriving at the castle didn't mean he wasn't spending the rest of the day with her, though, if such a thought ever crossed her mind.
Oh. So, not hard, just strange? Sounded...okay, he supposed. He still smiled and shook his head in disbelief when that last sentence left her lips. "That chance won't come, I'll probably let you win if...," come to think of it, that was a similar thought he'd had before playing against her that one time, "...er, scratch that, I know I won't let you win."Smirk. The chance still wasn't coming, unless they practiced as Seekers and for some unseen reason she ended up catching the Snitch.
Granted, she's been playing that same position for years now, it was very likely she'll end up getting the golden object rather easily.
They were stopping, apparently. And...that look. He should've thought of what to answer before saying the first thing that came to mind, which was the truth, but he could've said so in other words. So, he eyed her too, but nicely, "I do." And the former Captains had understood his reasons...which were related to study. His real reason? He looked away, "I wouldn't have known where to focus." But then he shook his head, "Actually, I know I'd be focusing on you instead of the game," and quite possibly try to keep his girlfriend as safe as possible, no fair to the Hufflepuff team, right? "Maybe we should practice together...at least once." Perhaps that was a good idea, it's been a very long time since they were together on the Pitch.
