After placing her scalpel into her pocket, Amelia crossed off the first instruction before looking at what she had to do next. Now it was time for her to make the incision down the side of her pod with a knife. Goody.

Getting up, she headed over to where the pods were and started looking for one that she would work with. She wanted a purple pod, because it was her favourite colour. So she looked and looked until she found one that was perfect.

Picking it up, she carefully made her way back over to her station, making sure that the membrane pod was stable. Now she took her scalpel out of her pocket and gave a deep breath. She was not looking forward to this part at all. She slowly and carefully made the incision down the side going from top to bottom, and watched as some goo came pouring out.

EWWWW. It was hard for her not to shudder, but she managed. Thank God she had her gloves on at least.

When she was done that part, she made sure that she cleaned her scalpel before crossing off the second step.

Violet rubbed her hands together again. She was so excited to grab the seeds! it was time to get down messy. With her left hand, she took hold of the pod and with the other slid her hand into the incision that had been made earlier. "Gross!" Violet cried out as she felt the slimy stuff through her latex gloves. She felt around the hole until she made contact with some seeds. Closing her fist around it, Violet pulled out the slimy goop from the incision. There were about 4 to 5 seeds covered in white slime in her hand and Violet giggled at how it looked. It reminded her of some type of food she had back home. Violet placed the slimy ball of seeds onto the bag and slid her hand into the incision again. Hoping there were more seeds to be pulled out. Violet felt around the hole for a few minutes, but her heart fell to realize that there were no more. Violet looked back at her parchment to see what the next step was for the obtained seeds.

Louisa left her workplace and headed to get one of the puffapods. Her face showing no amazement at how much the cute things had grown since last term, she knelt down and grabbed a random pink one. Back to her place, she placed the puffapod on the table and stared at it for a moment.

The scalpel was in Louisa's hand next, her left hand caught the thing gently as her right one with the knife was positioned at the top of the plant. Slowly she pulled it inside a bit before driving it downward into a straight incision.

Violet took hold of the big goop of seeds and tried very hard to wipe the clear membrane off the seeds. It took a while to get all the seeds clean, but when she did, she saw how pretty the seeds were before placing them in the bag.

Next, Violet removed the remaining membrane from the Puffapod plant by pulling it off the stem. It was tough work, but she managed to pull it all off the stem and skipped to the compost pile where she dumped it.

Through the whole activity, Violet was really happy that she was here in herbology, which was her favourite subject out of all of rest.

Alyssa reviewed her journal, before checking off the next steps she had to undertake.



Holding her scalpel with her right hand and the pod in her left, Alyssa leaned forward and sliced into pod making an incision down the side of it, starting from the top down to the bottom. Holding her scalpel, she applied a little pressure as she cut through the thick membrane to get to the seeds inside the pod. Once she had successfully made the incision, she lay down her scalpel and prepared to retrieve the seeds.

He's done with his second step now onto the third step. His eyes went to his notebook and read the next instruction. Insert your hand into the incision and remove the seeds from the membrane.

Now its the time to get messy. He rolled out both his sleeves first before he put his hand slowly into the incision he had made earlier. He can feel the slimy jelly-thingy through his gloves. Then his hand made a contact with the ripened seeds, he pulled it out. In the end he finally got 4 seeds. And that was not the nicest experience he ever felt.

Justin listened and watched as Proffessor Bentley told the how to harvest the Puffpod seeds. So, he looked at Minnie and then back to the table and took an apron and put that on and then grabbed a pair of latex gloves and donned them as well.

Angelina took out her notebook and quill and began to write everything down from the board.



After writing everything down she grabbed the latex gloves first, the apron, the calico bag and the scalpel. She placed the apron around her and put the loves on. She doesn't remind working with Puffapod seeds... Maybe that was a problem. After putting her gear on she was ready for step two.

Making sure not to touch her parchment with her goo-covered gloves, Amelia looked to see what the next step she had to do was.

She needed to actually extract the seeds from the pod now. And she had decided that she definitely liked the planting part more than the harvesting. Though she did suppose that there was a nice feeling associated with knowing that she was playing a part in this. It just would be nicer if there wasn't so much goo.

She reached into the pod's incision now, and extracted the seeds. She placed them into her bag as she counted them. One... two... three... four... five... seeds in total.

She crossed the step off carefully so as not to get any goo on her paper.

Jayden nodded excitedly, taking in every word, scribbling down notes and flipping through her guides on occasion. Now it was time to get started.

Awesome!

She grabbed her scalpel, placing it gently on the table as she reached for her apron and tied it around her neck. Next thing on the list was latex gloves... Jayden fumbled through her bag, searching until she finally found the little buggers.

Protective gear, check.

Taking a deep breath, Jezzabelle moved to grab one of the pink colored puffapods. She carefully carried it to her work station and once situated she pulled out the scalpel. "Oh goodness," she whispered to herself a little more nervous than she should be.

Closing her eyes she took a deep breath and made the needed incision. She started at the very top and worked her way as far down as she could. Some of the placenta began to leak through the incision made and she took another deep breath. She wasn't going to get sick. Nope, she was just going to lay the scalpel down to be cleaned later and move onto the next step.

Angelina headed over to we're the pods where and just picked a random one, she wasn't picky of what it looked like at all. Looking down at the pod once she arrived at her work area she saw it was pink like most of the others. Oh she loved pink! Getting her scalpel she began to make an incision down the side of the pod, starting from top to bottom like told. It wasn't to pleasant but she thought she was taking it some what well then the others. After she was done she picked up her quill and crossed off step one and two.

Putting her scalpel down, Louisa fixed the glove on her right hand before sloooowly slipping it into the wound. Her fingers felt the weird texture of the inside as they went on deeper into the puffapod. The tips of them closely touched something that felt different than the rest of the puffapod's guts. The girl's eyebrows were raised slightly, she would've smiled if she wasn't so miserable and numb at the moment.

Grabbing the first circular solid 'thing' and pulling it out, Louisa had obtained her first puffapod seed. Using her left idle hand as a tray, the girl laid down the first seed and slid her hand back inside grabbing two seeds this time and dropping them in her hand with the other one. Her hand went into the center of the puffapod for the last time and got another two seeds.

Five whole seeds.

Violet was happy to see that she was the first one done her activity. Now it was time to clean up. Violet wiped her slimy gloves on her apron and took her wand out. Pointing at the scalpel, she said, "Scourgify!" until it was squeaking clean. Then she put the scalpel back underneath the table and took off her gloves. What was she supposed to do with the bag of seeds she collected and the plant? She called out to the professor for help "Professor Bentely, what would you like me to do with the Puffapod plant and the bag of seeds?" She looked around the room to see if anyone else was finished, but they all seem to still be working on harvesting the seeds.

Jayden walked slowly over to the table that contained the puffapods, grabbing a nice looking pink one, she headed back over to her table.

"Alright Jay, you can do this!" She mumbled to herself.

She lifted the scalpel, making a straight incision, right down the side of the pod just as she had been instructed to do. Now to scratch off the second step and continue to the third..

She put her hair on a ponytail to get it out of her face. She put her apron and her latex gloves on herself. She then got out her scalpel and calico bag. She picked up a puffapod and was ready to begin.

Silvia looked at the pod in front of her. The next step was to make an incision down its side. She picked up the scalpel and muttered "scourgify," to make sure it was clean. Taking a deep breath and not wanting to do anything wrong, she picked a spot near the top of the pod and rested the scalpel against it. Slowly she pressed the scalpel inward until she felt it break through the other side of the thick membrane, then dragged it down until she reached the bottom of the pod. Pulling the scalpel out, she watched for a moment as the disgusting-looking plant insides began to ooze out. Then, she cleaned the scalpel once more. Better to clean up as I go, she thought.

Alyssa rolled back the sleeves of her jacket, to make sure that none of the slime inside the membrane accidentally got onto to it. Then she reviewed her journal again, reading what the Professor had told them to do next, before checking them off in her journal.



Alyssa then proceeded to reach into the pod to retrieve the seeds. Sliding her hand through the incision, she pushed her hand through the gelatinous substance. ‘Thank goodness it doesn’t smell.’ Alyssa thought to herself. She felt around in the slime until she found the first seed. She removed it and placed it on her workspace, before reaching her hand in to retrieve the next four. “Here we are. That’s two. That’s three. That’s four. And here we have one more.” Alyssa picked up all the seeds and cleaned off the slime from each of them. She now held 5 beautiful purple seeds in her hand.

Looking at the fourth step, Amelia noticed that she had already done the first part because she hadn't wanted to hold the seeds in her hand. That was okay though, because she still had a part of the step to complete.

She carefully removed the rest of the membrane from the plant by pulling it off the stem. When she was done, she walked over to the compost heap and placed it on top before heading back to her station.

She crossed the fourth step off of her list now.

Alyssa gently placed the seeds into her calico bag before she proceeded to clean up. She first removed the remaining membrane from the plant by slowly pulling it off the stem. Then she carried it out over to the compost heap and dropped it there. She walked back to her workspace and noticed that some of the slime from the pod had spilled onto her worktable. Trying to wipe off as much slime she could from her gloves, Alyssa reached into her holster and removed her wand. She then pointed it at her workspace and said,”Scourgify” to remove the slime and clean it up. Once her workspace was tidy and clean again, Alyssa peeked into her calico bag to make sure that the seeds were okay in there. She then closed the bag and laid it back on her worktable, before picking up her journal to make sure that she had completed all the steps as instructed by the Professor, crossing them out one by one, to verify.



Alyssa then looked at her latex gloves. To remove or not to remove? She decided that she would remove them. She could always retrieve more latex gloves from under her workspace if she was required to wear them again. Stripping them off her hands, making sure that she didn’t drip any slime onto her cleaned workspace, Alyssa walked over to the waste bin and threw them inside, before returning to her stool and waited for further instructions.

Now for the part Angelina wasn't looking forward to. Removing the seeds. She really didn't like putting her hand into anything. Luckly though she had gloves on and didn't have to do it with her bear hands. Taking her hand she placed it into the incision and started pulling out seeds. She got five. Looking at her notes to see if she either had to little or to much. 4 or 5 seeds okay too she got it right.

Sliding them into the calico bag- well, sliding all four of them leaving only one seed outside to start working on it. With her gloved hand, she fumbled her fingers on the slippery seed to squeeze it free of the membrane.

Squeeeeee- PLOP!

Uh oh. Louisa's eyes widened at the flying seed, but her arms flailed quickly to catch the seed! Lying flat onto her torso on the table with her both arms stretched before her almost squeezing the seed, Louisa froze for a full minute. Straightening up, the girl cradled the seed this time and slowly took the fragile membrane off. The Ravenclaw followed this step four times with the rest of the seeds. No stunts.

After the simple first step things seemed to get harder
Autumn picked up the scalpal and checked it for dirt, squeky clean!!
She picked up the pod and delicatly inserted the tip of the scalpal into the pod and dragged it down gently and made a insision from top to bottom!!

Olivia sliced down the side of her pod with the scalpal, a sweet small came out along with a sticky membrane.

Professer Bently had mentioned something about the goo being good for your skin, Olivia couldnt help testing some on her arm. She rubbed a patch of goo onto her arm and planned to let it sit there for the whole class.

Keeping the seeds into the bag, Louisa took off her latex gloves that had mushy stuff on them. Reaching for her shoulder bag, that was lying on her stool this whole time, the Ravenclaw took her wand out of it. Grabbing the scalpel at first, she pointed her wand at the knife and spoke loudly, "Scourgify." Nothing.

GLARE. Louisa furrowed her eyebrows, why the heck wasn't she able to clean the scalpel? This spell was one of her daily used spells! She never had a problem with it ever since her third year.

WAS HER MAGIC FADING? D=

Louisa's numbness started to stir, she did the spell again. Yet nothing. Again... and again. It wasn't until her seventh attempt that she managed to clean the scalpel. Then came the table work, "Scourgify!" As enthusiastic as her drained-out self could manage. It worked the first time luckily making Louisa sigh in relief and slump down on her stool with the apron still on.
