Messer was running all the way from the common room to the Greenhouse where Professor Bentley held the second lesson. He tried to catch his breath before he entered the classroom. He saw that a lot of students already there and so does Professor Bentley. He's not late wasn't he? He hoped not.

"Hello. Professor Bentley. How are you?" he greeted the Herbology Professor and gave her a polite nod.

Alex entered the Greenhouse and searched for a seat. She was really looking forward to her Herbology class today. "Hello Professor", she said. Making her way to an empty spot, Alex took out her book and was ready to begin the lesson.

Harvey entered his second Herbology Lesson. "Hello Professor Bentley, How are you?" he asked her before he took his seat ready for another exciting lesson

Ready for another herbology lesson Hannah walked it and greeted the professor. "Good to see you again Professor Bentley." She went and found a seat and waited for the lesson to begin.

After double checking, and triple checking the time on her watch, Seren then let the door to the greenhouse close and she turned her attention to the students. "Good morning everyone! I hope you've all come prepared, because we have a busy lesson ahead of us." Busy was probably an understatement. "We have a lot of work to do and a lot to learn, so brace yourselves," she warned with a small mischievous smile.

"Now many of you will recognise these puffapods we planted last year... well now it's time to harvest this seasons seeds!" And yes this was a VERY exciting task, especially if you liked getting a little messy. She looked down briefly at the rows of puffapods in front of them, large ostrich egg sized pods sat upright, attached to low stems. They varied in colour, ranging from light pinks to bright reds, some containing pink seeds, others orange or purple.

With a swish of her wand, the blackboard that was over to the side rolled into position. It's old wheels squeaking in the process.
"Note down the following instructions as I walk you through your first task for today."

After pausing briefly, waiting for the students to pull out their notebooks, Seren then stepped up to one of the puffapods. Time for a demonstration.
"So first of all, if you look under your work space you will find all the necessary equipment you will need. These include a scalpel, latex gloves... you won't need your dragon hide ones until the next activity... and then you have a bag for the seeds you harvest." She held up her small calico bag as an example.

After pulling on her latex gloves, she then gestured to the puffapod in front of her. "Puffapod seeds... or beans as they are sometimes known, develop and grow within these sizable membranes we call pods. They are very tough and very firm, but as the seeds within them ripen, the membrane becomes softer and easier to pierce." Taking up her scalpel she conducted the first step, making an incision down the side. "The membrane won't harm you. It is not poisonous, if anything it would probably do your skin some good. But I'm guessing not many of you like sticking your hand into a lump of what is essentially plant placenta." Mmm delightful thought. "It is very slimy, and is very much like jelly... but you probably shouldn't eat it, you'll get a stomach ache."

Sticking her hand into the incision, she took hold of one of the ripened seeds and pulled it out, wiping off the excess jelly with her fingers.
"And there you have it... a puffapod seed... or bean... whichever you want to call it."

"It's a messy task, which is why you have aprons and gloves, but you should all manage it."

"Good luck, and .... go!" Of course, it wasn't a race or anything.

OOC: The lesson has started, do not announce yourself arriving late, just pretend as if you were here the whole time.

"I'mfine." she murmured, forcing a smile that was a bit creepy on her current face and moved on to sit on one of the stools. Or whatever the professor had arranged for them today, she really didn't pay attention where she sat. It wasn't a CoMC lesson so it wouldn't be something alive and bite-y.

With absolutely no facial expressions, she replied, "Hi Ellie. Fancy seeing you today." Before the fifth year died and went to whatever life was after this one. Did she have to nudge her, though? Because that felt real and alive... Louisa didn't like the lifeness in her at the moment.

Sitting there with her shoulder bag dangling from her lap and ready to trip whomever passing by, Louisa stared blankly forward waiting for the lesson to start.

Kurumi sneezed again. Yeah, she would need to go back to Professor Lafay and ask for some of that potion they had brewed during the lesson. Kurumi had grown up in a more...herbal medicine sort of environment. Not that her family was against doctors or anything, just didn't want to become dependent on the medical community or anything...which had Kurumi worried about her mother's current health...

But her thoughts couldn't linger there too long as Professor Bentley got the lesson officially underway. Right, first things first...Kurumi needed to prepare herself for all this. Could she just wrap herself up in bubble wrap or something to protect her and her sinuses from all the pollen? Probably not.

Kurumi ducked down under her table and removed a red apron and pair of latex gloves. Putting the apron on first, Kurumi then slipped her hands into the gloves and wrinkled her nose at the texture before pocketing her scalpel in the front pocket of her apron. Making sure her mask was covering where it should, Kurumi went to retrieve a puffapod.

Hannah wasn't very fond of being messy truth be told. She would just have to suck it up and deal with it thought...it's not like she had much of a choice. Atleast it's not blood she thought to herself. She looked around at the other students for a brief moment and decided she might as well get suited up. She reached underneath her working station and pulled out an apron and latex gloves and put them on. She took a deep breath afterall it's just slime right...the stuff that looks like boogies.

Smiling, Elise bounced over to a bright ORANGE puffapod. Yay for harvesting! And harvesting puffapod seeds was even better! A huge grin on her face, she pulled on her apron and tied it around her at the back. Straightening it, she took one latex glove and stared at it for a moment.

They had to wear those. Oh, well.

Picking one up, she slipped her hand into the latex glove. Ewwww.... was that... Powder?! Shuddering a little, she put her other hand in. The sooner they got this over with, the sooner Elise could get out of the powdered gloves.

Walking up to the ostrich egg sized puffapods, Kurumi felt her nose itch and tingle in anticipation of one of those falling on the groun, breaking open, seeds going in every which direction, and her sneezing herself into her sixth year. It wasn't something that she really wanted to think about, so her focus went on other things - like the color of the puffapods. Running her hands over several different shades of pinks, Kurumi's hand came to a stop on a bright pink one which she picked up with her gloved hangs and carried back to her station. She nearly sneezed midway, but was able to stop herself before disaster struck.

Once she made sure that her puffapod was stable on the table, Kurumi reached into her apron's pocket for her scalpel and held it against pod, erm, membrane. The word membrane was sort of an awkward one to say...almost as gross as moist. If there was any word in the English language that Kurumi wasn't fond of it was moist...and membrane. Moist membrane together was almost too much. Ew.

Pushing down gently on the scalpel, Kurumi eased the blade into the side of the puffapod and slowly continued to make the incision down. As she did, the...goo, erm, placenta from inside the membrane came oozing out and onto her gloves. That sentence was not a very pleasant one to say in her head and Kurumi wrinkled her nose. Good thing that her face was being covered by her mask or else Professor Bentley may have taken offense. Incision made, Kurumi set her scalpel down. "Scourgify...Tergeo," she said, cleaning it and returning it to the box under her station.

Jezzabelle listened and listened some more. She then looked up at the instructions and felt a little excited. They were going to harvest the seeds. She was actually going to harvest puffapod seeds. Sigh.

Ducking under the work station she pulled out a red apron and some latex gloves. Eew. She placed on the apron and pulled on the uncomfortable gloves frowning as she let them snap onto her wrist. She was going to need lotion later. Some lovely scented lotion.

Bouncing over to the purple puffapods, Elise let her hand rest on a BRIGHT PURPLE! puffapod. It looked so adorable that Elise almost felt bad for cutting it up... But there'd be more flowers if they did, so it's okay!

Letting the huge pod rest on her lap, Elise picked up the scalpel from her apron's pocket and touched it lightly to the top of the puffapod. Tracing a straight line down its side, Elise made a neat incision and closed her eyes for a moment.

The jelly-like substance immediately spilled onto her apron. Eww... She didn't do anything, though. There'd be more goo when she took the seeds out.

Alyssa watched and listened as the Professor first demonstrated how to harvest the Puffapod plants. She quickly noted down the steps and the tools and equipment that she would be requiring for the task into her journal.



She then put down her quill and stood up. She was really excited to be working on the Puffapods again and couldn't wait to get started on the task assigned. But first she needed the equipment to do that. She looked under her workspace as instructed and found what she needed. She pulled out a scalpel, an apron, a pair of latex gloves and a calico bag and lay them on her workspace. Now she was ready to start her task.

LuLu wanted act quick she never.. ever acted quick when it came to tasks she took it slow... and not rushed except the last time she was kind of just hoping to have it done rather than perfect! So.... She looked up at the blackboard to scan her up coming tasks! She wrote them down lazily as Bently requested



Now that was done she had to put on her protective gear, she bent down underneath her chair and retrieved the scalpel, apron, latex gloves and calico bag placed under the table neatly, she put on the apron and then the latex gloves pressing them and smoothing them out, she glanced at the notes and sighed....

She chose a plant with a peachy colored pod, the pod was heavy and wobbeled around on it's stem as she carried it back to her seat. She had to keep one hand on the pod to prevent the from falling off, this one was diffinatly ready to harvest.

Back at her seat, Olivia peered under her dask for her equiptment, it was all inside the calico bag. She tied on her apron, which magically happened to be just the right size! And strapped on her laytex golves, scalpl in hand, "Im ready to go!

Silvia wasn't too sure how she felt about sticking her hand into that plant membrane; it seemed a little disgusting. Nevertheless, she had to do it. She first pulled out her notebook and copied the directions on the board, as well as made note of some of the things the professor had said about the plants, then set the notebook to the side so it wouldn't be in the way.

She glanced at the puffapod before her, then looked under the table to find an apron and latex gloves. She pulled the apron over her head. Then she pulled a small band from her pocket and quickly pulled her long hair back and out of the way, surprised with herself that she had forgotten to do that beforehand. Pulling on her latex gloves, she glanced at her notebook to see what the next step was.

"I'm perfectly fine, Professor." he answered with a smile and he was very ready for the lesson. He can't wait what they gonna learn today because Messer had a good time in his first herbology lesson. He just hoped that the second one will be funner.

Then after the last student entered the greenhouse, Professor Bentley officially started the lesson. They gonna harvesting puffapods. Yay! He never done any harvesting before so this is his first experience. He looked down under his working table, the young badger took an apron and a pair of latex gloves. He putted the apron first then he slipped his hand into the latex gloves. Now he was ready to harvest the puffapods.

Puffapods were rather interesting in Amelia's opinion, but that didn't really mean that she was inclined to want to harvest the things. Especially after the description and demonstration that Professor Bentley gave them. But she supposed it might not be too bad with the protective gear on.

She quickly wrote down the steps to the activity from the blackboard:

Harvesting Puffapod Seeds

[1] Put on your protective gear.
[2] Using the scalpel make an incision down the side of the pod, from top to bottom.
[3] Insert your hand into the incision and remove the seeds from the membrane. (You should get around 4 or 5)
[4] Collect the seeds into the bags provided, remove the remaining membrane from the plant by simply pulling it off the stem and place it in the compost heap.
[5] Tidy up your work space and wait for further instructions.

You will need: Scalpel, apron, latex gloves, calico bag.

When she was done this, she found her equipment under her seat. She put on her apron first (not surprisingly it fit her perfectly), then her latex gloves were put on carefully. Next, she grabbed her scalpel and held it in her right hand, ready to get to her harvesting.

But she wished that she was given a protective mask or something. What if this thing decides to squirt me in my face? She shuddered now.

Autumn listened carefully and wrote down what she needed to do




Autumn took a apron and tied it around her, she pulled on her gloves. Autumn needed to make sure she was well protected she didn't want anymore accidents!

Reviewing her journal, she re-read the instructions. She scratching off step#1 as she proceeded to put on her latex gloves and tied her apron around her waist. She then took a scrunchy from her pocket and tied back her hair to make sure that it didn't bother her later when she was working on the Pod.

First to clean her scalpel. Even though the Professor hadn't mentioned anything about doing that, Alyssa figured that she'd do it anyway, being taught that it was always good to reduce any possibility of outside contamination. Taking out her wand, she pointed it at her scalpel and cleaned it by saying the incantation,"Scourgify". She then holstered her wand, and examined to make sure that the scalpel was clean before she reached forward and pulled over of the large bright red pods to her. The Professor was right, it was as large as an ostrich egg. Alyssa then picked up her scalpel and proceeded to make the first incision.

Violet looked in wonder at the bright purple pod in front of her. This was going to so much fun! It reminded her of painting back in her mother's art studio and Violet loved to get messy, especially of what she was going to do right now.

So..first step. Violet looked down at her parchment of paper of all the steps she had copied from the blackboard. Of course, it was to put on some protective gear. Violet stooped down under the table to retrieve a clean white apron and a pair of latex gloves. Having some difficulty, Violet was able to tie a not-so-neat bow around her body and pulled on the latex gloves. She stooped down again to grav a scalpel and slapped her hands together to get to work.

"I'm doing well, too, thanks!" Tayla replied brightly.




Tayla listened carefully then took her quill, ink, and notebook out. She copied the instructions quickly.

As soon as the professor said 'go', Tayla began. She looked under her workplace and took out a yellow apron and a pair of latex gloves. She wore the apron, making sure it was tied properly. When that was done, she put on the gloves.

Tayla took out the scalpel as well and felt a little like a surgeon. She was about to say so but decided otherwise, not sure whether the professor or some of her classmates would know what a surgeon was.

Violet took her scalpel and muttered "Scourgify" to clean it off. What disasters could happen to the seeds if the scalpel wasn't cleaned yet? She was about to cut the pod, but hesitated for a moment. Where was the side of the pod? Violet shook it off and cut down the left side of it, from top to botton, where it made a bizarre squelching sound as the knife when down. "Eww.." Violet muttered when something slimy oozed out of the incision. It was fun, yet messy, and she loved it a ton. After making the incision, she placed the scalpel down and looked down her list to see what the next step was supposed to.

Huh? Louisa's eyebrows slightly went up in her head as she listened to Bentley reciting the lesson. Puffapods. Heh, too cheerful for the girl's mood. She listened and wrote down the notes she had to follow while harvesting the seeds.



Putting her quill and parchment down, the girl looked down to find the equipment that Bentley mentioned. Stretching her hand, she grabbed the latex gloves first, the apron, the calico bag then and lastly the scalpel. Slowly, and rather uninterestedly, she slid the apron onto her neck and clumsily tied it behind her back.

The latex gloves came next, Louisa opened the box and unwrapped the folding until she got her purple gloves. Ignoring how big they felt in her hands, and the screeching sound they made when she rubbed her fingers against each other. Now to grab a puffapod and slice it up.

Now after he was already suited up, he went to retrieve a puffapod. Messer choose the orange one and he picked it up with his gloved hands then carried back to his work station.

He re-read the instruction in his notebook. This time he need the scalpel to make an incision. Messer took the scalpel from his apron's pocket. Then he cut down the side of the pod from top to bottom like the Professor asked them to. As he did that, something slimy come out from the pod. It reminds him of jelly but the Professor said that they can't eat it, she said that the jelly-thingy will cause a stomach ache.
