It was such a nice day outside, the weather was mild, not quite warm but not cold either, and it was perfect for the first lesson of the term. Seren stood just inside the entrance to greenhouse two, waiting for the students to arrive. It was fairly dark in here, with creeping ivy curling an crawling its way up the sides of the glass panels, but there was still enough light to see clearly.
Tapping her heel excitedly and stroking the moving tendrils of a nearby ivy, Seren waited patiently for the students to arrive. "Just form a group here please," she said to them indicating to the area just in front of her. Yes that's right... just stand there, no need for sitting just yet, or at all.
OOC: The lesson has officially started, do not announce yourself arriving from this point onward, just pretend as if you've been here the whole time. Sophie got a little watering can and pointed her wand at it. This was one of the spells she had tried before on the train, so she was confident about it. "Aguamenti!" she said and watched as water started filling up the can. Then she bent her wrist and made the circular movements once more. "Chaudensis." Sophie waited until the water was boiling and started pouring it slowly and steady over her pot. "There." she thought. Watering plants was one of the few things her mum let her do in her garden. At least Sophie could do that right.
She then wrote her name on the pot and put her wand away. "Tadah!" she thought smiling.

Seconds turned to minutes as Sierra waited for an appropriate amount of time to pass. Most everyone who'd started around the same time she did was moving on to step three now, so she figured enough time had passed. Finally, she checked the security of her dragonhide gloves on her hand, noted that they were on as securely as possible, and then made way to the stash of seeds.
She reached in and carefully wedged one out, making sure not to drop it or smother the other seeds with her gloved hand. Not wanting to take any chances on damaging the seed in her hand, Sierra quickly made her way back to her pot. Watching the seed and her glove the entire time, Sierra gently lowered the seed and placed it directly on top the soil. There. That looked good to her.

Silvia retrieved a watering can and returned to her pot. She had never performed the aguamenti charm, but she had read about it and had seen her mother perform it on a few occasions. So she looked around her and took a moment to watch as a few older students performed the spell to make sure she knew what to do and how to pronounce it. It seemed like a simple enough charm. Silvia pointed her wand at the watering can, concentrated, and said "Aguamenti!" It worked! That wasn't too hard, she thought.
"Chaundensis," she said, rotating her wrist. Within moments the water began to bubble slowly, and after a minute it was at a steady boil. She tipped the watering can over the pot and let the water fall in a slow drizzle. That should be enough, she thought after a moment as she set down the watering can.

Harvey then got some more soil and started filling the rest of the pot with it. He filled it right upto where they were supposed to fill it.. and he then gently but firmly patted the soil into the pot but remembering not to do it too much so as to not suffocate the seed.. and to allow it some breathing room so to speak..
He then crossed this task off his list too.

Okay. He begged inside that he wouldn't mess this step up either. He nervously put on the dragon hide gloves and took a fire seed and shakily placed it on top of the soil. He gave a sigh of relief. PHEW!

Selina looked at the pot that she had in front of her and diverted her eyes back to her parchment. What was next on her list? She read the second set of directions and looked back at her pot. It made sense that she would have to fill up the pot or else nothing else could possibly occur for the rest of the lesson. So she moved across the room and grabbed enough soil to fill half of the pot. Of course, when she returned to her station she evenly distributed the soil, with her gloves on, and continued on with patting down the soil.
When she was done she looked back at the directions. It told her to distinctly wait... so she would wait patiently.
SO! Everything was going according to plan. The operation was almost over. Louisa walked away from the pot to get her water can. She was supposed to conjure the water in the can, warm it and then moisten the soil. Getting back to her pot, she placed the can on the table and tucked out her wand. "Aguamenti." She murmured, pointing her wand at the can but as it was one of the difficult spells, nothing happened. With a loud sigh, Louisa tried again a bit more enthusiastically, "Aguamenti!" pointing it harder toward the can and a thin stream poured out of the wand, filling few millimeters before coming to a stop.
*SIGH*
"Aguamenti!" Again and the thin stream returned pouring into the can before it stopped again. Louisa tucked her wand in her skirt as it was before and carried the can, rolling it carefully to see what level the water was at. Satisfied, she took her wand out again and casted the warming charm again, "Chaudensis." Making that smoother circle with her wrist. Waiting another second, she took off one glove and touched the can. Yep, it was definitely warm.
Putting her wand away, Louisa poured some of the little water in the can over the soil in the pot. She took a closer look and poured just a liiiittle more before putting away the can and smiling proudly at her seed.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

Oakey looked at the tiny seed. It felt to him as if the tiny Fire seed was starring at him back. It seemed weird, but Oakey was not so fond of Herbology plants if they could harm him in some way. He lifted the seed between his index finger and thumb and placed it carefully into the warmed pot.

After letting the pot heat up, Lily walked over and carefully took a seed and brought it over to her pot in her gloved hands. She placed the seed down on top of the soil in her pot and proceeded to the next step.

Taking some of the remaining soil he covered the creepy starring Fire seed up. Can't see me now can you? he whispered aggressively at his pot.What's so wrong with talking to his plant, Granny Gunter did it in her garden to her plant's. So what if Oakey was mean to his seed as long as he gave it some form of conversation. He then proceeded to pat it down.

As the lesson continued, Stella got the tiniest bit more excited. Mostly because they weren't harvesting anything this time around, which definitely meant they weren't going to be angering any magical creatures. She still preferred not dealing with the memory of the pixies. She added to the notes she'd already written down, however, before starting to plant her seed.

Once she had everything written down, she stood up and retrieved a pot from the stack, as well as some goggles. At least she'd had her gloves already, and once she returned to where her bag was, she set the pot down before slipping the goggles over her eyes. It always paid to be safe, especially when it came to this class. In her opinion, Herbology and Potions were probaby the most dangerous. But so far this lesson seemed alright.
Sticking her gloves in one of her pockets, she took her wand out again and pointed it at her pot. Rotating her wrist in a circle, almost tracing the interior of the pot, she cast the spell they'd been taught. "Chaudensis." And, once that was finished, she sat down on the ground near her pot, slipping her wand back into its holster so it would be safe. Time to wait for her pot to warm up. Luckily, after only a few moments, she was able to look at her pot and see the tiniest disturbance in the air around it. Like a mirage, and she reached a hand out to touch a finger to the side of the pot and smiled. Time to move on to step two.

She asked since she had never used the spell before.

Noticing that a number of students were finishing up, she figured they could be dismissed.
"Once you have finished planting your seed, please move your pot over by those bushes there," she said indicating a particularly dark corner of hedgerows. "Don't be worried if some of the vines come down and try to hug you, like I said earlier they're just a friendly bunch. Once you have done this, and your work space is clean and tidy, you may be dismissed. Have a good day!"

Minerva took her pot and carried it over to the bushes. As she did a vine wrapped around her. She giggled "Aww do you want a hug." she said hugged the vine. She wiggled her way out of it and went back to her station cleaning it up. Once it was clean and things were put away she went back to Professor Bentley. "Professor I am done with everything and have all my stuff cleaned. Is there anything I could help you do to help clean up?"

Once he was sure it was hot enough, he sprinkled the perfect amount of water over the seed. There, done!
Hearing professor Bentley giving more instructions, Louisa paused from staring proudly at her success and listened. Okay, so they could go now. Good. The girl brought out her parchment and quill, wrote her name, house, and year and placed it in the pot, over the soil. She then grabbed the lovely operation in her hands and went over to where Bentley had ushered for them to place their newly planted seeds.
Back to her place, the fifteen years old took off her goggles and gloves. She put them back in her bag and tucked her wand out. Using scourgify on the table and shovel, she returned the latter to the tools pile and mounted her bag. "Have a nice day, professor Bentley," she bid her goodbyes and off she went toward the Great Hall where delish food was waiting.

Violet praised herself again for doing an excellent job in her first class of herbology and proceeded to move her pot by the bushed the professor pointed out. It was a very dark corner and Violet shook with fear. What could be lurking there? She walked slowly to the corner and placed her pot down slowly.
Suddenly, something grabbed her by the arm. "Ahh!" she screamed." thinking it was a monster in the greenhouse. She quickly turned around to try yank it off, but stopped short to see it was only some of the friendly vines trying to say hello to her. Violet laughed it off. "Hello little vines, it's very nice to meet you as well."
Violet was not going to risk pulling at the vines and losing more house points than her other classmates had in other classes. The Ravens were absolutely terrible at following instructions it seemed. They were surely last place now.
"Goodbye, professor Bentely!" as Violet exited the Greenhouse and pondering to what she can do to earn more house points and not deduct them.
She frowned at her stupidity and picked up her pot and moved it over to the bushes. She made sure here area was cleaned up and tidy and then she walked out of the greenhouse.

Selina simply stared at the next section of the directions without moving to complete any of the actions. Now was the part she had been dreading. Something about the fire seeds did not sit well in Selina's stomach. She did not like the fact that she was going to be dealing with fire. If Potions was a good gage for how well she handled fire, well, that was enough explanation. This could not go well.
But she dealt with what she had to do and grabbed the seed with both hands with her gloves. She could feel the heat even under the gloves. Once it was placed on top of the soil, the fourth year took two steps away from the pot. WAS SHE SAFE?!?!

She put her gloves back on and went over to the collection of seeds and selected one. Despite her dragonhide gloves, Kurumi could STILL feel some of the heat. "Wow..." Kurumi said as her jaw dropped, her violet eyes fixated on the glowing seed in her hands. The way that the glow seemed to swirl inside indicated to her just how much power and energy these seeds contained and Kurumi stood there in awe for a few moments.
Wait...she shouldn't stand here for too long or else risk the seed turning a brownish color. That would be very bad.
Kurumi shuffled her feet back to her pot and very carefully set her seed down inside. The glow intensified, no doubt because of the temperature within the pot as opposed to the greenhouse's seemingly subzero atmosphere. Nodding to herself as she did, Kurumi turned and adjusted to the seed so that it was nestled comfortably within the pot and not too close to any of the walls.
Now...where was her bucket of dirt...
Aha! There it was. Kurumi walked over to her bucket and picked it up. It was much lighter now that she had put some dirt into the pot earlier. Before adding more, Kurumi peeked inside to make sure that her seed was doing alright and, when she saw that it was a vibrant red color, she picked up her small shovel again and began to fill the remaining space with dirt. Once this was done, Kurumi turned the soil with her fingers and patted it down just a bit.
Kurumi removed her gloves again and felt the outside of her pot to make sure that her spell was still in effect. It WOULD be a bad thing if it wore off during midplanting after all. Feeling that it was still nice and warm, Kurumi left her gloves at her station and headed over towards the shed to retrieve a watering can. Her eyes were more adjusted to the darkness now, which was good, so she wasn't stumbling around nearly as much. Her knee did happen to connect with the edge of one of the tables. Ouch.
Finding an appropriate watering can, Kurumi made her way back to her pot.

For boiling water, add water (via aguamenti) to the watering can and heat it. This will ensure you 1. control the temperature and 2. don't over water your seed. Use a VERY small amount, simply enough to moisten the soil.

Harvey then filled his can with water "Aguamenti!" he pointed at the can as he filled it with water. He then did the cirular motion with his wand "Chau-den-sis!" he boiled the water in the can. Once he was sure that the water was boiling he then watered the seed... making sure to put in only enough to moisten the soil and not too much to drown the seed..
He then crossed off this final task off his list.. and he then put away all the equipment that he had taken.. such as the watering can and the soil..
