When not in use for classes, several of the greenhouses that are located on the school grounds are open for private and independent research and study. In fact, this is highly encouraged.
Within the unlocked doors of the greenhouses you will find rows and rows of plants. The greenhouses contain a wide variety of plants - both magical and mundane. Want to practice your pruning skills? Why not practice on the Abyssinian Shrivelfig of a Flutterby Bush? Or perhaps you want to harvest some Puffapod seeds- just don’t drop them! -- unless you want to of course.
In the cupboards you will find several shelves containing any equipment you might find yourself needing: trowels, cultivators, shears, protective goggles and the like. Also, in case you forgot your own, there is a cupboard which contains work robes and gloves in various sizes. As usual, you can find the fertilizer in a heap behind the greenhouses.
Remember Professor Bentley likes to take regular strolls through the greenhouse to check on things. So make sure you wear your protective gear and behave yourselves accordingly.

Now that Mr Deadly Fire Seed could be happy in its dark resting place, Nora checked her parchment again to see that she had to sprinkle with hot water. Simple enough.
Taking a water can, she pointed her wand at it and mumbled "Aguamenti." When it was filled with fresh water, she pointed it again at the can, but this time made a circular move and said "Chaudensis" and watched as the water started to boil. Good.
Now that that was fairly well done, she made sure sprinkle only a bit of hot water over her plant friend, hoping it will enjoy it. Task number two done!
Tayla found the third thing on the list a little funny, but it was fun to be silly once in a while. And besides, she did love to sing and dance.
Tayla paused for a while. "Hmmm...Here's one of my favourite songs..." And she began to sing, and did a little dance around the Fire Seed as she did so.
"There’s a place out there for us,
More than just a prayer or anything you've ever dreamed of.
So if you feel like giving up cause you don’t fit in
down here,
Fear is crashing in, close your eyes and take my hand.
"We can be the kings and queens of anything if we
believe.
It’s written in the stars that shine above,
A world where you and I belong, where faith and love
will keep us strong,
Exactly who we are is just enough, there’s a place for us, there’s a
place for us.
"When the water meets the sky,
Where your heart is free and hope comes back to life,
When these broken hands are whole again,
We will find what we’ve been waiting for,
We were made for so much more
"We can be the kings and queens of anything if we
believe.
It’s written in the stars that shine above,
A world where you and I belong, where faith and love
will keep us strong,
Exactly who we are is just enough,
there’s a place for us, there’s a place for us
"So hold on, hold on,
There’s a place for us
We can be the kings and queens of anything if we believe.
It’s written in the stars that shine above, a world where you and I
belong, where faith and love keep us strong, yeah exactly who we
are is just enough, there's a place for us.
A world where you and I belong, where faith and love
will keep us strong,
Exactly who we are is just enough, exactly who we are
is just enough,
There’s a place for us."
As she ended the song and her little dance, she gave the Fire Seed a bow. "Hope you enjoyed that," she said with a little giggle.
As she walked in the Greenhouse 2, Gwendolyn pulled out a folded piece of parchment out of her pocket and started reading. Ensure that it is in a dark enough area of Greenhouse 2. If not, then kindly ask the Ivy to block a bit more of the light out. Don't forget to thank it and give it a pat or a hug… Let’s just hope it IS dark enough. Hugging the Ivy would be weird enough. Give your Fire Seed a LIGHT sprinkling of water. Remember it has to be boiling hot water…. Right. Did this in class. Sing a song to your Fire Seed and dance in circles around it. All plants need some entertainment for development. WHAAAAT? No. I’m not going to sing. No. No. NO! What’s next? Sprinkle a pinch of blood and bone mix around the Bushling's base. I can do it. Aham. And last-- Read the Fire Seed Bushling a bedtime story.
I’ll have to remember these steps, the third year thought and then placed the piece of parchment back in her pocket. As she got closer to the place where the bush was planted, the girl noticed there were already quite many students there.
Time to get started, she told herself and glimpsed at her plant. Why isn’t it here dark enough?! It would be much easier for me. Grrr.‘Umm…’, Gwen started saying and looked at the Ivy. ‘Could you please make it a bit darker here?’THAT.WAS.WEIRD.‘Thank you’, she smirked and hugged the Ivy. THAT.WAS.EVEN.WEIRDER.
Tayla walked towards a cupboard by the entrance of the greenhouse, still smiling from the singing and dancing she did for her little Fire Seed. She found the small bag of blood and bone mix she was looking for, took a pinch and, getting back to her plant, sprinkled it around the base of the bushling. She made sure her gloves were on properly and was careful not to burn herself or drop anything.

5. Read the Fire Seed Bushling a bedtime story of your choice and wish it sweet dreams.
Cardigan walked into the greenhouse to check on her bushling. She read her first set of the instructions of her piece of parchment:
Quote:
1.Ensure that it is in a dark enough area of Greenhouse. If not, then kindly ask the Ivy to block a bit more of the light out.Don't forget to thank it and give it a pat or a hug.
It seemed a little odd to her,but she did it anyway.Once she got to her bushling, she saw there was too much light!"Mr.Ivy sir?Can you please block more light?"Cardigan asked the ivy as it blocked more light. That was weird. She had never seen Ivy move in her life!It just wasn`t natural to her!
"Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Whenever she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood.
One morning, Little Red Riding Hood asked her mother if she could go to visit her grandmother as it had been awhile since they'd seen each other.
"That's a good idea," her mother said. So they packed a nice basket for Little Red Riding Hood to take to her grandmother....." Jezzabelle loved this story and she hoped that her little pant would as well. She kept reading and where there was lines spoken by characters she would change her voice. So if it was the grandmother she'd try her best to sound old. Or if it was little red she would sound like a child....well even more so than she already did. Her favorite part however, was sounding like the wolf.
"...The woodsman knocked out the wolf and carried him deep into the forest where he wouldn't bother people any longer.
Little Red Riding Hood and her Grandmother had a nice lunch and a long chat," She closed the book and smiled. "The end." She grabbed her things. Checked that the ivy was keeping her plant covered on last time. "By my little plant. I'll check on you again in the near future. Sweet dreams." And with that she left to go to the other greenhouse to check on her other plants.

After cleaning the water can and putting it back from where she took it, Nora knew without checking her notes that she had to entertain the seed. "I can't believe I'm doing this for you, Mr," she jokingly scolded it, knowing that if there was anyone to blame for this, that would be professor Bentley.
All of a sudden, she started singing a random song, but it mostly sounded like mmmhmm, since it had no lyrics. And that was when something better came to her. She stood up and looked at her already spoiled seed and started singing, while also moving around and graciously wiggling her arms, although she had no idea how she was supposed to dance with what was coming.
"Fire is for grown-ups, silly seed,
Besides, there's loving Ivy everywhere.
It's not what it seems in the land of dreams,
Don't worry your pot, just go to sleep.
When you wake up, I will come around,
When you wake up, I will come around.
It's just the sweet weather and the peacock feathers,
In the morning, it will all be better.
It's not what it seems in the land of dreams,
Don't worry your soil, just go to sleep.
When you wake up, I will come around,
When you wake up, I will come around.
Fire is for grown-ups, silly seed,
Besides, there's loving Ivy everywhere.
It's not what it seems in the land of dreams,
Don't you worry at all, just go to sleep."
When she was finally done singing and dancing around, Nora eyed Mr Deadly Fire Seed and raised an eyebrow at it. "Happy?" It should be.
OOC: Maybe I should apologize to Fall Out Boy for ruining their wonderful song. XD
Tayla grew up with both wizard and muggle fairy tales, but she decided she wanted to tell her Fire Seed one from the Muggle world for a change.
"This story is about a little girl named Thumbelina. And when I say little, I mean tiny. She was no bigger than a adult's thumb. It all started one day when an old witch heard a lonely woman's wish that she have a little child of her own..." Tayla continued talking about how Thumbelina came from inside a flower. How a toad wanted her to marry her son and kidnapped her. How the fish helped her escape, how she met Mr. Mole and felt alone and afraid, and all the little adventures Thumbelina went through until she finally met the little King of all the flower spirits. "The little King thought Thumbelina the loveliest maiden he had ever seen. They married and lived happily ever after. The end!"
Tayla hoped she told the story well. "I hope you liked that, Fire Seed. Sweet dreams!"
For good measure, Tayla blew a kiss to her Fire Seed Bushling then left the greenhouse.

Now... the dangerous part. At least that was how Nora saw it.
Checking the instructions, she walked to the entrance of the greenhouse to look for whatever that thing was, but there was nothing that could help. Soil, a few cans, more Ivy... ah! The small bag with... what was it, again? Blood and bone mix? For what?
Since there was no one around, she took the whole bag and returned to her pot and rummaged around her bag for her gloves. The instructions said try not to burn yourself, so that was exactly what she was trying to prevent. She took a pinch and sprinkled it around the base and, when that was done, the girl returned the bag where she found it, cleaned her gloves and stuffed them back in her bag.

Next step was....
Sing a song to your Fire Seed and dance in circles around it?!
Okay he absolutely no idea what song he need to sing to the plant. He need to come out with a song an pronto! Then it hit him there's a muggle song that his sister always listening back home. Messer started to sing and doing some dancing around the his fire seed.
"You’ll never enjoy your life,
livin' inside the dark
You’re so afraid of the light,
how you gonna reach the top?
Rules and regulations,
force you to play it safe
Get rid of all the hesitation,
it’s time for you to seize the day
Instead of just sitting around
and looking down on tomorrow
You gotta let your bush off the ground,
the time is now
I’m waiting, waiting, just waiting,
I’m waiting, waiting for you to grow
Waiting for you to grow
Waiting for you to grow"
Okay he may changed the lyrics a little bit but the young badger thinks that its more fitting that way. "I hope you are happy, Mr. Fire Seed." Because I was just humiliate myself.
OOC: I'm soooo sorry Greyson Chance for ruining your lovely song.

Wearing a slightly heavy coat this time, Kurumi made her way into the greenhouse with her bag slung over her shoulder. As she scanned the rows of pots, looking for the one with her name written on it, she began to hum to herself. There was no particular rhyme or reason to the song, but after spending the morning in the pathways with Jonathan, well, Kurumi had a lot to hum about. Hehe.
"Aha, there you are," Kurumi smiled as she reached her pot and set her bag down on the ground. But...something was a bit off. She could see FAR too well and her eyes hadn't needed to adjust nearly as much to the dim lighting as they had during the lesson. Just to be safe, Kurumi set her bag on top of the pot, covering it temporarily while she...erm...spoke with the ivy.
Looking up at the greenhouse pane above her that was revealing the most light. "Um...excuse me, I really hate to disturb you...but...if it isn't too much to ask...could you perhaps...um...move just a little more to cover this area?" she asked nervously as she pointed to a part of the greenhouse where the most sunlight was coming through. She waited for something to happen, which didn't take very long. The ivy began to shake and shimmy and one of the vines reached towards her and played with her pony tail. If it weren't for that fact that Kurumi knew the plant was harmless, Kurumi might have freaked out. Vines that thought for themselves and Herbology hadn't mixed well for Kurumi over the years.
Kurumi stood very still as the ivy continued to twist and crawl across the glass and the light dimmed. Her eyes struggled for a moment as they focused in the dark, but now it was certainly the same amount of light as there had been during class. "T-Thank you," Kurumi chirped up at the ivy, offering it a bow in appreciation. The vine that had been playing with her hair came around and lifted her hand and gave it a gentle shake. Had she...just shaken hands with it? Weirder things had happened, that was for sure. Smiling, she gave the vine wrapped around her hand a gentle pat and it released her hand and returned to its resting place on the wall.

It was a fine Sunday to spend his time inside, thus Hades decided to pay a visit to his Fire Seed Bush in the greenhouse. Whistling happily to a tune playing on the muggle wireless music device (iPod), he turned around gracefully as if he was dancing at greenhouse two. That particular greenhouse was dark compare to other greenhouses. However, there were still a little amount of light near the hedgerow.
Smiling at the view, Hades walked closer to hedgerow and patted the the dancing ivy. "Hello there, Wasima. How are you doing?" of course he didn't forget her name. "Can you do me favour? Can you block this part a little bit?" he gestured his hand at where the light was coming from. "Yes, that should do it. Thanks!" Hades patted the ivy again and let it hugged him. "Are you getting along with Hwajae?" That was the name of he gave to his Fire Seed Bush. The name explained the bush's characteristic in Korean which meant fire. At least the name won't be hard to remember.
Okay now that he finished the singing part, he need to take a small bag of blood and bone mix in the stored cupboard by the entrance of the greenhouse then sprinkle it around the Bushling's base. At least he didn't has to sing anymore.
Messer went toward the store cupboard and he found what he was looking for a small bag of blood and bone mix. In the instruction said that try not to burn yourself so he put on his dragonhide gloves to prevent that from happening. He took a pinch of it with his-now-gloved-hand. The young badger went back to where his pot was and sprinkled the blood and bone mix around the Bushling's base. Task 4 check!

Sophie pushed the pot back to its safe place in the darkness and walked to the cupboard by the entrance of the Greenhouse. She looked around and found a small bag with the mix the were supposed to use.
Skipping her way back to her seedling, Sophie still had a smile on her face. She opened the bag and sprinkled the blood and bone mix around her little plant's base carefully.
Humming 'Deck the Halls', she went back to the cupboard to put the small bag away and went back to her pot and stared for a while.
Right, water. With one last glance at his pot, Lewis walked over to the watering cans and pulled out his wand. "Aguamenti." He said forcefully, smiling to himself as while he watched the water emerging from the tip of his wand. This time the spell had worked at the first try. So all the practicing he'd done the last few days had done him some good.
Once there was enough water in the can, Lewis stopped the spell and pointed his wand at the can again. "Chaudensis." There this had worked perfectly the last time as well. Running a hand through his hair - making a complete mess of it - he waited for a while until there was some steam coming out of the watering can. That was usually a good indicator that the water was boiling.
Now. The step he had dreaded the most. Lewis picked up the watering can and slowly walked back over to his pot. Maybe he shouldn't be watering it at all? But then again the instructions clearly said to water it. Err. Tilting the watering can carefully he allowed a two drops of water into the pot. Was that enough?

Now was the song-time. Which song should she sing? R&B? Rock..or Country? She decided to go with country.Laura decided to sing 'You Belong With Me'. She had to dance around it? This was weird. Yet, she had to..
'Right then sweetie..here's my favourite song..,' she began
'You're on the phone with your girlfriend, She's upset
She's going off about something that you said
She doesnt get your humour like I do
I'm in the room, its a typical Tuesday night
I'm listening to the kind of music she doesnt like
And she'll never know your story like I do
But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts
She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers
Dreaming bout the day when you wake up and find
That what you're lookin for has been here the whole time
If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see?
You belong with me
You belong with me
Walkin the streets with you in your worn out jeans
I cant help thinking this is how it ought to be
Laughing on the park bench thinkin to myself
Hey isnt this easy?
And you've got a smile that could light up this whole town
I havent seen it in awhile, since she brought you down
You say you find I know you better than that
Hey, Whatcha doing with a girl like that?
She wears high heels, I wear sneakers
She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers
Dreaming bout the day when you wake up and find
That what you're looking for has been here the whole time
If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see?
You belong with me
Standin by, waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know that?
You belong with me
You belong with me
Oh I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night
I'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're about to cry
I know your favorite songs and you tell me about your dreams
I think I know where you belong. I think I know it's with me.
Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you?
Been here all along so why can't you see?
You belong with me
Standing by or waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know that
You belong with me
You belong with me
Have you ever thought just maybe
You belong with me
You belong with me,' she sang her favourite song

Hannah was in an unusually good mood today and was on her way to check on her fire seed bush. She headed off to greenhouse 2 and looked around for her bush. Ah there it is! She walked over to it and had to squint her eyes because of the sunlight. She remembered from class that they did not like the sunlight. She looked around and suddenly thought of Professor Bentley and remembered what she did with the ivy.
She felt a little dumb talking to the plant but she need that her little bush depended on it. So she took a deep breath and asked "Err...excuse me ivy, but could you please block the sun from my fire seed bush?" Hannah's cheeks turned a little red from asking the plant a favor, but that soon went away because instantly the ivy moved and threw Hannah in darkness. Well that was pretty cool she had to admit. "Thanks for that." she said as she gave the ivy a light pat.
Sing a song to your Fire Seed and dance in circles around it. This was bound to be a little awkward. Luckily nobody else was in the Greenhouse at the moment. He would have probably DIED with embarrassment if somebody saw him performing that step.
Reaching for the pot, he carefully put it in the middle of the room so he had more space to dance around it. Okay, he just had to get this over with as quickly as possible. So he chose the first song that came to his mind. The one his mum always used to sing to him. Still did when he couldn't sleep. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes for a moment before he started to dance around the pot.
SPOILER!!: Dance+Song
"The itsy-bitsy spider
Climbed up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out
Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain
And the itsy-bitsy spider
Climbed up the spout again"
A little out of breath, Lewis stopped his dance once the song was over and just looked at his pot for a moment. Maybe the whole rain-theme of the song hadn't been that appropriate. He didn't want to traumatize the seed any further after all. Also, Lewis wasn't sure if he was so into spiders.
Janice made a list of what should they do to the Fire Seeds they had planted 2 days ago. A: Darken the greenhouse to ensure it's dark enough by asking the ivy to do so and patting/hug it afterwards. B: Sprinkle boiling water. C: Sing & dance in circles. D: Feed it. E: Read it a bedtime story.
Darken the greenhouse to ensure it's dark enough by asking the ivy to do so and patting/hug it afterwards. Ask the ivy??! It sure is easy, but it's just unnatural. Because a professor had told her to do it, she went to her bush's nearest ivy.
"Hello, uhm, Ivy," she started, unsure what to say next. "Could you extend your leaves so it will cover that open part of the greenhouse?" The plant did nothing. "Uhh, please?"
The Ivy slowly grew another leave to cover the sunshine. Janice was freaked out. IT'S HAPPENING! "Th-tha-thanks...?" After hyperventilating for some while, she patted the plant uncertainly before going back to her bush and read the next bullet point in her list.
Lewis just eyed the plant for a moment as if it was going to grow into a beautiful bush any time soon, just because of his amazing song and dancing skills. It would be so much more beautiful than all the other fire seed bushes. It would be different, maybe, yes, but beautiful. And better.
But nothing happened.. Le Sigh.
Clearly a little upset by the anticlimax, Lewis slowly made his way over to the cupboard Professor Bentley had mentioned in their homework assignment, putting on his gloves on the way. Once at the cupboard, he squinted against the weird lighting inside the Greenhouse, trying to read the labels of the different bags and cans inside it. Oh, there it was! Blood and Bone Mix. Not exactly what he would have chosen but apparently his seed liked that.
He took out some of the powder, holding it between his thumb and middle finger and quickly walked back to his pot. Carefully releasing his hold on the powder, Lewis sprinkled it around the bushling. And then he waited. Maybe something would happen NOW. Huh.
Silvia returned to the greenhouse to check on her fire seed. As usual, it was dark and cool in the greenhouse. Already the seed had begun to sprout. "Let's see," she said, checking her list of things to do. "I'm supposed to give you more water."
Silvia looked around and spotted the watering can on a nearby table. She retrieved it and pulled out her wand. "Aguamenti," she said, then, "Chaudensis," to heat the water. Moments later the water was boiling. She walked back over to her fire seed and sprinkled just a little of the boiling water into the pot. "There you go," she said, and she set the watering can back down where she found it. "That's all I have time for today." She waved to the ivy and then hurried out of the greenhouse.
His lower lip moving to form a pout, Lewis sat down on the floor next to the pot and continued to look at it with his hand slightly cocked to the side. Maybe he should pat it a little on the head? But then again, did he have a head? Should he pat the little yellowish things coming out of the soil? Well, first he was going to read it a bedtime story he had taken along.
Pulling out his wand again, he muttered "Lumos" and it next to him on the floor for a moment. He reached back into his bag to take out the book full of bedtime stories he had brought for this occasion. And no, he was not going to tell anybody why he had brought it to Hogwarts in the first place.
With his wand in his left hand, Lewis moved to sit with his legs crossed and the book on his lap and started to read out loud:
SPOILER!!: Bedtime Story (it has a PUFFER bunny and a Snake. Heh.)
Puffer Bunny and the Escape to the Meadow
Once upon a time, there was a little bunny named Puffer Bunny. He was so fluffy that everyone wanted to cuddle him. He lived with some kids in a comfortable bungalow. The kids were named BoBo, Bobby, and Kit. Bobby was especially fond of little Puffer because he had raised him from a baby.
One day they were playing in the back yard and Puffer Bunny took off jumping and prancing. He wiggled under the fence and headed off through the pasture behind the house. By the time the kids could get over the fence, Puffer was long gone.
Meanwhile, Puffer had scurried down into a hole and was crawling through a long tunnel. He felt something wet and cold. He held his breath in fear, but when his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he realized he was nose to nose with another little bunny! He let out a sigh of relief! The new little bunny whispered, "My name is Doodlebug." Doodlebug took Puffer by the paw and led him down through more passages and into a cozy little burrow. His brothers and sisters were snuggled together, all warm and safe. There was Dipsy, Dapper, and Dolly and the baby twins, Digger and Dodger. Puffer was thrilled to see a whole family of bunnies!
However, outside of the little burrow, the kids were worried sick about their little bunny. They saw a little fox trot off into the deep woods. They just knew that the fox had gotten their little Puffer. Bobby cried quietly while Bobo and Kit tried to figure out what to do. BoBo said, "Guys, it's time we headed home."
All the kids climbed back over the fence and trudged home. The night was long with worry.
Back in the bunny burrow, Puffer was really enjoying himself. He and Doodlebug slipped out for a little mischief. See Puffer was always exploring and Doodlebug could never say no to an adventure. The two frisky bunnies frolicked towards the woods. Just as they were approaching a rotten log, a rattle-snake slithered up. The two bunnies froze. The snake had the bunnies cornered. Their hearts were pounding so loud that the earth shook. The snake said, "Yum, dinner!" And his body lurched forward at Doodlebug. Quickly, Puffer Bunny jumped over the snake, grabbed the rattle, and shook it with all his might! What a sound it made! That snake jumped up in surprise—which gave the two buddies just enough time to bound on outa' there.
Doodlebug's mom rang the dinner bell just as they were coming back to the rabbit hole. She saw the looks on their faces and gave them each a hearty hug. She had fixed a dinner of cabbage and carrots, and they ate all they could eat. When the fluffy little bunnies finished their dinner, they invited Puffer to spend the night. He was delighted!
The next morning, Puffer pranced on home to his little bungalow. The kids were overjoyed that he was safe!
"Sweet dreams." With a small smile for the bushling, Lewis reached out and patted it softly, like his mum used to do after she'd read him bedtime stories. Crack! With a gasp Lewis drew back and gaped down at the bushling, his face a grimace of shock. The bushling looked...a little crooked now. What had he done?! "I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry." He muttered over and over again - as if talking to a baby - biting his lip.
Sophie sat down by the pot and pulled a book out of her bag. "Here, dear seedling!" she showed the book to the pot. "I'm going to read a bedtime story to you now!" she said smiling and opening the book. "I'm sure you're going to love this muggle story! It's called Jack and the Beanstalk!" she winked at her bushling.
She cleared her throat and got her wand. "Lumos!" now she could read in the darkness!
"Once upon a time, there was a poor widow who had an only son named Jack and a cow named Milky-white..." Sophie kept reading the muggle story calmly and interpreted it as much as she could, moving her arms around and raising her eyebrows. She was sure her bushling loved the part about the giant beanstalk! Sophie was having so much fun with this little plant of hers. She wished she could take it home with her by the end of the term, but wasn't sure if Professor Bentley would let her.
When Sophie got to the part where Jack chopped the beanstalk, she decided she would change it a little. You know, so she wouldn't hurt her seedlings feelings. "Jack jumped down and begged to the beanstalk to help him. The mighty plant used its strength to shake the ogre off, and he fell all the way down and broke his crown! And the beanstalk made sure the ogre would never bother Jack again." she smirked and glanced at her bushling.
"...Then Jack showed his mother the golden harp, and what with showing that and selling the golden eggs, Jack and his mother became very rich, and he married a great princess and they lived happy ever after!" Sophie closed the book smiling at the pot. "Isn't it great?? Nox." and she put away her book and wand.
Getting up and throwing her bag over her shoulder, she bent down a little, looking at her bushling. "Sweet dreams, dear seedling!" she stroke the little bush and then the giant Ivy. "Thanks once again, pretty Ivy! Take good care of my seedling, okay?" she asked smiling and then skipped her way out of Greenhouse 2.

Ella headed for the cupboard by the entrance of the greenhouse to get the blood and bone mix for her little plant. She picked up the small bag gently, knowing that its contents could burn her if she wasn't careful. This stuff is way creepy. No way I'd ever be caught eating anything having to do with blood or bones! I wonder if the blood and bones comes from dragons!? She found her little bushling and smiled. "Ready to eat? You must be starving!" Ella set the bag on a nearby table and pulled on her dragon hide gloves. You can never be too careful. She took a pinch of the mixture and sprinkled it around the base of the bushling. "There you go, enjoy!" With that Ella picked up the small bag and returned it to the cupboard. She turned to wave at her plant before heading off to enjoy the beautiful autumn day.
Walking into the Greenhouse, Darwin shuddered a little, the dark making him feel a lot more creeped out than was necessary. He felt sure that a plant was going to come along and poison him, or try to hurt him, or something, and he really didn't want that. He wanted to survive his first year of Hogwarts, and go exploring more, and stuff, not get eaten alive by a weird plant.
He didn't like weird plants. They were weird.
Deciding to get his homework over with as quickly as possible, so he could LEAVE the 'House, Darwin sought out his Fire Seed Bush and dug the scrap of parchment the assignment was written on out of his pocket. First he had to make sure it was dark, which it totally was, apart from a sliver of light that was cast upon it's utmost leaves. "Ur, er, Ivy?" he spoke, feeling increasingly stupid for talking to the stuff that was growing on his house.
"Can you, er, move a bit? It's a bit light over -" WHOMP. The Ivy had swung forward to block out the sun, and had succeeded in smacking Darwin in the face. Stumbling backwards a few steps and blinking in shock, Darwin struggled to comprehend what had just happened when the Ivy had wound it's way around him, binding his arms to his chest in some awkward sort of apologetic hug. That was, if a plant could even give an apology.
Or a hug.
The leaves almost obscured his face, but peaking through them, Darwin noticed that his Bush was now in almost complete darkness, and he muttered a muffled, "Thanks," to the Ivy as he struggled to pat it. Thankfully, it began to unwind now, and he could breathe freely, as well as check off his list.
SPOILER!!: Darwin's Homework List.
1. Ensure that it is in a dark enough area of Greenhouse 2. If not, then kindly ask the Ivy to block a bit more of the light out. Don't forget to thank it and give it a pat or a hug.
2. Give your Fire Seed a LIGHT sprinkling of water. Remember it has to be boiling hot water.
3. Sing a song to your Fire Seed and dance in circles around it. All plants need some entertainment for development.
4. In the stored cupboard by the entrance of the greenhouse you will find a small bag of blood and bone mix. Take a pinch of it and sprinkle it around the Bushling's base. Try not to burn yourself.
5. Read the Fire Seed Bushling a bedtime story of your choice and wish it sweet dreams.
