| | The Greenhouses Banner by the lovely and amazing sweetpinkpixie. When not in use for classes, several of the greenhouses that are located on the school grounds are open for private and independent research and study. In fact, this is highly encouraged.
Within the unlocked doors of the greenhouses you will find rows and rows of plants. The greenhouses contain a wide variety of plants - both magical and mundane. Want to practice your pruning skills? Why not practice on the Abyssinian Shrivelfig of a Flutterby Bush? Or perhaps you want to harvest some Puffapod seeds- just don’t drop them! -- unless you want to of course.
In the cupboards you will find several shelves containing any equipment you might find yourself needing: trowels, cultivators, shears, protective goggles and the like. Also, in case you forgot your own, there is a cupboard which contains work robes and gloves in various sizes. As usual, you can find the fertilizer in a heap behind the greenhouses.
Remember Professor Bentley likes to take regular strolls through the greenhouse to check on things. So make sure you wear your protective gear and behave yourselves accordingly. |

Carigan stood up and untied her skirt so it would flow out again. She pulled a small djembe out from her school bag and wrapped it round her neck. She began to beat the djembe and dance around the fire seed plant singing. "When the moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then peace will guide the planets and lo-ove will steer the stars!" She sang and beat the drum and danced around in circles. She must certainly look a fool while doing so. Carigan never realized just how strange she and her family truly were. The moments she was singing and dancing with her family were the times she loved most of all, this made her sad remembering her twin sister, hoping she was okay. Perhaps after she had finished her visit with the fireseed bushling she would send a letter off to her sister in Romania.

Justin then decided it was time to entertain Rufus. So up he stood in front of his little plant and said, " All right, Rufus I hope you enjoy this. " he said smiling. He began to sing and dance around his plant.
" Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV ?
Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until three,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV ?
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town ?
I'm counting on you, Lord, please don't let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round,
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town ?
Everybody!
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends,
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
That's it! "
And Justin was having a great time dancing and really starting to feel the music. He noticed that he was singing rather loud , but didn't care. Besides the other plants seemed to be enjoying themselves as well listening to him sing.

Carigan finished her dancing and put her djembe down on the ground. She did a little bow to her fireseed bushling then emitted a small giggle. She found she was rather enjoying herself. Now she needed blood and bone mix. Eugh, it sounds nasty. Carigan thought to herself. When she planted with her mother she never had to use any of that sort of stuff. Nevertheless she got the bag and brought it back to her bushling. "Here William, this should make you grow big and strong!" She said as she sprinkled the mix at the base of the bushling. Just as she was about to move her hand away she accidentally touched the bushling. "OUCH! William, you silly bushling, you, you burned me! Oh well... at least it isn't a terrible burn." She said, sucking on the affected finger. She decided she would get a better look at the burn when she was finished and would determine then if she needed to go to the hospital wing.
She removed her finger from her mouth and took the bag of mix back to the cupboard by the entrance of the greenhouse.

Good, now that Charlie had the sufficient amount of darkness he needed, Auggie regarded the little slip of paper he had scribbled the tasks of the homework he needed to perform. The next was to water the little sproutling...with boiling hot water.
Well he knew how to make water appear from his wand and how to heat it but he didn't have anything to put it in. He was in quite the pickle wasn't he? The Gryffindor quickly went over to his school bag which he had sat against the Greenhouse wall and quickly rumaged through it. Nothing.
Finally after scanning the base of the wall and the dark floor of the Greenhouse, the fourth year spotted a metal watering can not far away from where he stood. After retrieving it, Auggie pointed his wand at the opening in the top and said the incantation for the water needed. "Aguamenti." He water happily as clear, cold water began to spout out of his wand tip for a few minutes before he ended it.
Now he just needed to heat it up. Before the Herbology lesson the other day his first instict would have been to start a fire with magic and then heat the can over it but seeing as they were in a greenhouse full of flamable plants and those that needed darkness that was NOT ideal. But thankfully Professor Bentley had taught them the Chaudensis Charm where they would be able to heat the water they needed. Taking his wand and placing it on the outside of the watering can Auggie muttered the incantation. "Chaw-nen-sis."
After a few seconds of not knowing whether or not his spell had work, August began to see steam coming from the open lid of the can. He stood and picked up the water can and stepped back over to his Fireseed sproutling. "Alright Charlie are you ready for some water?" He then sprinkled just a bit of the boiling water over the plant, listening to the sizzles as it hit the plant and surrounding soil.

Ariella froze as she glanced at her paper. Wait, did she read that right? She legitimately had to sing and dance for a plant? No way. She sighed and looked at her fire seed. "You're high maintenance, you know that?" But she just had to do it. It was her homework, anyway.
Taking a deep breath and making sure no one was watching her, she thought of the first song that came to mind. "Ooh you make me live, whatever this world can give to me," she started, singing the Queen song her mother was obsessed with. Mortified, she started to skip in a circle around the stupid bush. This was getting out of hand.
She stopped abruptly, not continuing onto verse two. That should be good enough. Was that...laughing she was hearing from her seedling?

After finishing the song and dance fro Rufus Justin took an dold favourite bedtime stary book grom his bag and sat down next to his plant. He opened the book to it first page and began to read. " The Magic Pen By Laura Flett
I’m sitting in my backyard on a sunny early spring afternoon. My blue spiral notebook is on my lap and a magic pen is in my hand. The pen doesn’t look that special if you see it in my bag or on my desk, just a black gelstick pen with a cap. The magic begins when I touch it to paper.
Two fussy blue jays chase each other overhead. “Are they mad at each other or just playing?” My pen writes the question before I have time to think of it.
A squirrel buries a pecan in the next door neighbor’s yard, his bushy tail twitching as he digs. “How will he remember where he hid it?” my pen asks. I really don’t know.
There are tiny yellow flowers tucked throughout the greening grass. “Why do we call them weeds?” the pen questions.
Oh, and there are six fluffy dandelion seed balls lined up against the side of my house. “You can make a wish, you know. What will you wish for?” my pen asks. I stop writing for a moment to think of all the possibilities.
A yellow and black butterfly the size of my hand flits by. My pen records its brief appearance. A gentle breeze stirs the air around me and my pen takes note. I hear children playing down the street, and my pen scribbles the sounds across the page.
The sun goes behind a cloud, then peeks out again but I’m not looking at the sky. I know this because of the shadow of my pen that follows the in and out dance with the sun.
What good is all this magic from a pen on such a pleasant day, I think. I really don’t know.
But my pen keeps writing. Taking word pictures of the world around me and the thoughts running through my head to be read to some child I don’t even know before he or she goes to bed.
“They will be able to see the pictures and hear your thoughts,” the pen explains.
Oh. Now that’s magic."
©2007 Laura Flett
After he closed the book he said, " Sweet Dreams , Rufus. Now get some reast so that you may grow. " Justin smiled as he got up and took one last look at his Fireseedling for the night.

Carigan walked back to the bushling and stuck her burned forefinger into her mouth again. She now had to tell William a bed time story. She sat down on the ground, cross legged, and pulled out a big leather bound book from her bag. "Grimm's Fairy Stories." She said after pulling her finger from her mouth. "Once upon a time there was a goat with seven children. One day the wolf went out to do her shopping and left her children behind. Shortly after the goat left a wolf came along to the house and knocked on the door. The eldest being very smart looked through the small window and saw that it was a wolf. He told everyone to find a hiding place. The wolf soon came to the big side window of the house and broke into the house. He found every single child, except for the very youngest, who hid in the big grandfather clock. Carigan began, she remembered this story well from her childhood so she barely had to look at the book. The wolf, because he was so hungry, gobbled up all six children whole. He then felt sleepy so he left the house and went to have a nap on a grassy hill side.
Carigan took a deep breath before continuing the story, The old goat arrived back to the house with her shopping to find that her children were missing. She looked around the entire house and found her youngest in the grandfather clock. He told her the entire story of what had happened. She looked out the big window and saw the wolf, asleep on the hillside, his belly full and she could see her children struggling to get out. She took up her sewing sheers and her needle and thread and went to the hillside. She cut the wolf open and all six of the children leaped from the wolfs stomach, completely unharmed. She then placed six stones where her children had once been and sewed the wolf back up. Carigan smiled at the fireseed bushling before continuing. When the wolf woke up, the stones in his belly made him very thirsty. He went to the well to get a drink but the weight of the stones made him fall into the well, where he drowned. The entire goat family came to the well and danced and were merry because the nasty old wolf was dead at last." She finished. She knew the Grimm fairy stories were a little, well, grim. But they were classics. She stood up and said goodbye to her fireseed bushling and gave the ivy another thankful pat before leaving.

Nate walked over to the spot were his fire seed bush was. He saw it wasn't getting enough sunlight. So he kindly asked the ivy this "Ivy can you please block the sun a bit more for my fire seed bush." He then saw the ivy creeping over the sunlight. "Thanks." Wow he can't believe he just talked to a plant and it responded. That was pretty interesting. Now he couldn't wait to see what happened in his next herbology class.

Now, he only need one more thing to do. And that is read the Fire Seed Bushling a bedtime story. He was glad that this time he didn't have to sing anymore. The singing part was fun but its just weird. "Okay. This story is about a flying unicorn. Its my little sister favorite story." Messer said opening the story book. "Its by Jessica Gunawardena & Nicola Perera." he said. "Once upon a time, there's a beautiful unicorn name Sara." Messer told the fire seed. "She was very special unicorn. Do you know why?" He asked even though the little badger know that the plant can't answer his question. "You don't know? Well, I guess I have to tell you then. She has this great big gossamer wings the color of moonlight and it could take her soaring into the air above." he said mimicking the unicorn's wings with both of his hands. "Her white body gleaming in the sun at day, and sparkling in the moon-and star-light at night." he continued. "She was a happy and good-natured animal and made friends with everyone, even humans." He paused for a moment "and I think she'd love to be friend with you too." he added. "She liked little children, who always stared at her in wonder and delight. One little girl was her special friend. She lived just outside of the forest that Sara lived in. Her name was Minnie and she loved Sara with all her heart." Minnie? That remind him with this Muggle cartoon. "And then one day when they were walking in the forest, Minnie asked Sara, Dear Sara, would you please, please, take me up with you into the great big sky? I want to see the world from up there. Please, Sara?” he said in a not-so-girly voice. He never good mimicking a girl voice. “Then the unicorn agree to granted Minnie wish. And so, with Minnie on her back, Sara flew off into the air, climbing higher and higher, with the little girl screaming in delight. She held on tightly to Sara and looked down at the ground that seemed so very far away. The houses and trees looked like toys. The river looked like a blue line drawn on one of her drawing pages. Birds flew past her chirping a friendly greeting and she waved at them in return." Hmm..He wondered how it feel flying with unicorn? Was it as good as flying with a broom? "And soon it was time to return to the ground, and when Minnie landed she hugged Sara tightly and said thank you to her for a great journey. And the end." Messer said and closed the book. "I hope you enjoy the story Mr. Fire Seed" Because his sister always did. "Sweet dreams Mr. Plant. I'll see you soon." he said before he left the greenhouse OOC: The story was from bedtime website

Keefer strolled into Greenhouse Two. It had been far too long since he had visited his fire seed bush. But now he was finally getting around to it. Better late than never, I suppose.
He let his eyes adjust to the dim light before proceeding back to where his bush was hopefully growing. There it was, a tiny little seedling. "Let's check on the lighting for you, eh buddy?"
Now that he had grown accustomed to the conditions, he noticed it did seem a bit lighter than necessary for optimal fire seed bush growth. At least, that's what he thought. He began to whisper to the ivy, feeling a bit stupid. "Excuse me ivy, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind blocking a bit more light. You see, my little bush likes it dark, and it's a bit too light in here for it to grow up healthy and strong." Nothing happened. "Please?" That's the ticket!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Angel Wyatt Third Year | Post 3 Prue glanced at the plant, cocking her head to the side. This was definitely unexpected. She'd never heard of a plant that needed singing and dancing before, but thankfully her parents had forced her into dance lessons when she was younger. Beginning a song that she sang quietly, she begun twirling in a circle, simply for a beginning to think of the next movement.
With a smile she started dancing without caring much about it. If she looked like a fool, who really cared anyway? The cute little bush was worth it! |

The next step was watering the little bush buddy. Keefer saw a watering can near by and grabbed it. Directing his wand into the can, he said, "Aguamenti," his voice echoing strangely in the gloomy environment. Once he had enough, he ended the spell. Now to heat it up. What's the spell again? ...oh, right.
Wand pointed downwards, he rotated his wrist in a circular motion, just as they had learned in class. "Chaudensis!"
When he checked, he immediately felt the water getting warmer below the surface of his hand. Good, it worked. He waited several moments until the water came to a rolling boil. Careful not to let any water splash out and burn him, Keefer picked up the can and slowly tipped it over the bush. Steady, Keef. Don't wanna drown the poor thing.
Drip, drip, drip. After several seconds he ceased the flow of water by tilting back the watering can. Bending down to examine the bush, he was happy to see that it wasn't drowning.

Kennedy gently patted the soil with one finger. He was checking to see if the soil was too dry or if it was still moist. He rubbed his fingers together with a thoughtful expression on his face.
Blaze needed water.
He went over to retrieve a water can and set it on the table. He withdrew his wand and pointed at the water can and said, "Aguamenti," then doing the wand movement he said, "Chaudensis." He witnessed as bubbles that signaled the water was boiling surfaced to the top. It was ready.
The Slytherin first remembered to put his dragon hide gloves before lifting the water can. He carefully tipped it over. Kennedy decided to just add a bit of water since too much water wasn't good for the fire seed plant. After he was done with the water can he waited for it to cool down and placed it back from where he had gotten it.

Katrina ran to the Second Greenhouse. Time to pay a visit to her sprout. Yeah. When she went there, there were actually other students in there. But there wasn't that much darkness. Oh god, not the Ivy. No choice, though. She could've strangled that Ivy so it would just make total darkness. But as Professor Bentley said, be kind and everything. Blah blah blah~
Kat approached the horrible Ivy. She crossed her fingers, hoping this kindness she was supposed to show would work. Kat pushed her bangs behind her left ear.
"Good morning, Ivy," Kat said hopefully. "Pardon for disturbing your sleep." Not.
The Ivy didn't move. Oh how much Kat would've strangled it by now. She wasn't in the mood to be kind because she recently had the most painful headache in the world. And she didn't go to the Hospital Wing. She's just hard like that.
"May you please block a little sunlight out?" Kat forced a smile. Not bad, at all. "I need a little darkness for Homework. Please?" To Kat's relief, the Ivy blocked some of the sunlight enough to make the room look dark. She smiled at the Ivy. Kat was about to leave when she almost forgot to pay the price. Kat patted the Ivy and hugged it. So much for kindness.

| Herbology Homework Post 2 Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Satisfied with the light level or rather lack of light level, Gideon looked back to his list of tasks that he had taken down on a spare bit of parchment. Watering...that was simple enough. Looking around for the watering cans, he walked over to where he spotted them, retrieving one and returning to his fire-seed bush. "Aquamenti..." he cast, his wand aimed within the opening of the watering can where the jet of water gradually filled up the container.
When it was half-way filled, he cancelled the spell, the boy figuring he had enough to give his growing charge a nice sprinkle. "Chaudensis..." Gideon then cast, moving his wand tip around in a smooth rotation, bending at the wrist as he remembered the correct movement. The Gryffindor then slipped his wand away and moved his hand to the side of the watering can to test out whether it was working. He was greeted with a warming metal surface and he smiled, waiting until the water within started to boil before slipping on his dragonhide gloves so he could actually handle it.
Carefully picking up the now-hot watering can, the Gryffindor slowly tipped it, watering his fire seed plant as directed. When he believed the plant was well watered, he straightened it up and cancelled the spell so it could cool down and be put back where he took it from.
There...it certainly looked well.

Kennedy peered down at his To-Do list and...frowned. He was supposed to do what?!
His head shot up and he glanced at his surroundings. This. Was. Going. To. Be. Embarrassing. He slumped his shoulders and stared at Blaze... It DID seem lonely. Maybe a bit of entertainment would help it grow big and majestic...well, as far as fire seeds went. He took off his dragon hide gloves and shrugged his black cloak off. Time to get comfy. He stretched his arms and legs.
He was ready. "I used to sing this one when I jumped on the bed," he said, muffling a giggle with his hand. It was a very silly song.
Kennedy jumped around the pot, wagged his finger, sang in different tones, and smiled the entire time. That song brought great memories of when he was five years old...and it also reminded him that jumping on beds wasn't safe, just like he had learned that years ago...the hard way. "I hope you liked that one," he said, grinning. " It's a really ancient song." It was. It was also a muggle nursery rhyme, so maybe hardly anyone has heard it.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Angel Wyatt Third Year | Post 4 Glancing at the plant she sighed, moving towards the storage cabinet. This couldn't possibly end well could it? Moving towards it at an agonizingly slow pace she picked up the packet of blood and bone mix, grabbing a small pinch of it before rushing back to her plant that had to be growing... it had to be... unlike the muggle plants she grew that died, she wouldn't allow this one to die!
Sprinkling it around she winced as she felt a stab of pain. Biting her lip to stop from wincing she pulled her hand away. She did exactly what Professor Bentley said not to do, she'd burnt herself... |

As she finished singing, Gwendolyn kneeled and looked carefully at the plant. What if it has actually heard me?, she asked herself. What if I’ve sang sooo terribly that it’s going to suffer MUTATIONS!?!, the girl dramatized, but then shook her head, determined to just let go. It is only a plant. I didn’t do anything wrong.
Standing up, Gwen tried remembering what she had to do next. Ah, yes- the blood and bone mixture! She then walked quickly towards the stored cupboard and hoped she would find what she needed in there. Let’s see…, Gwen told herself while opening the cupboard door, making it squeak a little. ‘Here it is…’, the girl mused.
Returning to her fire seed bush, the Ravenclaw remembered what Professor Bentley told them. Try not to get burnt… *gulp* I’m so going to screw this up, she thought and glimpsed at the base of her plant. I can do it… I can do it…, the third year told herself and started sprinkling the mixture. DONE! ‘Phew’, Gwendolyn finally exhaled. This was worse than trying to get the Daily Prophet from her mother’s owl without getting bitten. And now- the last step! THE LAST! LAAAAAST!!!

Ok now Hannah was to the point of her homework that she was not looking forward to. I mean sure singing to the bush was a bit silly, but atleast that didn't get her hands dirty, and not just regular dirty were talking handling blood. Sure she would have her gloves on, but still blood was blood. She glanced down at her homework assignment just to confirm that she indeed had to do this step. Ugh, if she didn't want to earn house points so badly she might have just skipped this entire assignment. She took a deep breath and walked up towards the greenhouse entrance and looked inside the stored cupboard. She didn't have to look no time because right in the front was the small bag of blood and bone mix...naturally. Ready to get this over with she made she sure had her gloves on tight and brought the mixture to her little bush. She took out a pinch of it and sprinkled it around the bush's base. Whew, she was done with this part atleast. She didn't even manage to burn herself and it looked like the hard part for her was over.

Sierra peered over at her plant, which looked okay for the most part, except--it looked really dry. Sierra frowned at the appearance of the soil. Of course it was dry. She hadn't added any water to it yet! Well, not today at least. She hated that this plant needed something from her, but at the same time, she didn't want to kill it either. Something told her she'd get little to no credit for this homework assignment if she wrote in to Bentley and reported her plant had died.
So with that thought in mind, Sierra decided that she definitely needed to give her plant a bit of water. She turned on her heels and went to retrieve a watering can. She brought it back to her work area, flicked her wand out its holster, and aimed the wand into the can. "Aguamenti!" she said. Sierra let the water flow into the can until the can was about halfway full. "Finite!" she said, ending the spell.
With her wand still pointed inside the can, Sierra made the same circular motion they'd learned in class. "Chaudensis!" she said. Sierra leaned against the work table and waited for the water to begin to boil. When it finally did, she grabbed a hold of the can and tilted it toward the pot which held her plant. She gave the plant a light watering then moved the can away. Just to be on the safe side, she pointed her wand into the can again and cast Finite. No sense in getting the water too hot!

And now came the part he was least looking forward to. Singing to his plant.
He wracked his brains... What were some nursery rhyme type songs he could sing? Well, there's the alphabet song, but that doesn't seem entertaining for a bush. Maybe something about a plant or animal? But how many songs did he really know that were like that?
" Um, how about Baa Baa Black Sheep? Would you like that?" Ok, the bush wasn't going to answer, he was going crazy. Fine, I'll just go with that one.
He repeated the tune a few more times, then was tired of that song and stopped. If he was sick of it, so was the plant. " What else do you want, buddy? I know, how about one with a bush? Not a fire seed bush, but it's still a bush nonetheless. Maybe I'll change it a bit."
As he sang, he skipped around his bush. He knew he looked ridiculous. But at least I enjoy skipping. After a few times around, he was definitely done. Two songs and a dance ought to be plenty of entertainment.

Oh. My. Dear. Merlin.
Sierra peered at the notes she'd taken detailing her homework assignment. She had to sing a song to her plant then dance in circles around it?! Was Bentley mad?!
No. No, no, no, no, no.
She was not doing this. She couldn't. She wouldn't. She...yeah. She had to. No pain, no points, hmm? This would certainly be painful, but it'd be worth it if she could snag the points for Slytherin house.
She sighed and sat down beside her plant. She didn't sing. She hated singing. Singing was for overly happy people who had nothing else to do but annoy the world with their over-happiness. Sierra would have to go kick a house elf after this just to feel normal again... "Smart and dangerous
If you're one of us then roll with us
'Cause we are the house that runs the school
In the silver and green, it’s clear we rule.
We're pureblood superstars
We runnin' this school just like it's ours
And no we ain't got no lightning scars
But we’re lightning fast on our guitars (ars ars)
Got those stripes all up my tie.
My wand is at my side.
Rockin’ my Slytherin pride
So let's go-o-o,
Let's go!
We’re never gonna stop stop st-st-st-stop.
We’ll always be on top top t-t-t-top.
We’re serpents ‘til we drop drop d-d-d-drop
We’re always gonna win
We are Slytherins."
As she sang this, she sort of moved around randomly, attempting a decent dance but not exactly knowing what to do. She wasn't a dancer either. Not this sort of dancing, at least. As the song started to come to a close, she did a happy-go-lucky skip around the plant then came to a stop.
Great. Now she had to go kick two house elves. OOC: Lyrics credited to the group Not Literally.

Alllllrighty. Time for some tender care and love for her precious little fire-seed plant. Ellie entered the dark greenhouse and shivered. It was dark and damp and it kind of gave her the creeps. But, this was homework. And Ellie was determined to get as many house points as possible; she wanted Ravenclaw to win the house cup for her final year at Hogwarts.
Once she found her plant, Ellie was surprised to see a little sprout poking out of the soil. Well, that was fast!
Oh, safety first. Ellie pulled out her dragonhide gloves and slipped them on. Now she wouldn't burn her dainty little fingers.
The first step was to make sure it was dark enough for the plant to grow. But Ellie saw a little patch of sunlight that was peeking through the ivy on the window. Hm. Ellie pursed her lips and carefully walked over to the ivy.
Was she supposed to... talk to it? Sure... Ellie cleared her throat and spoke quietly. "Erm... could you... move over a little? Cover that patch of sun poking through?" Ellie asked nicely. She pointed to the empty space and watched as the ivy slowly but surely moved to cover the sunny spot. "Thank you - oh." The ivy then tried wrapping itself around her finger. Remembering what Professor Bentley did when it got tangled in her hair, Ellie used her other hand to stroke it gently. She wasn't going to kiss it though. "Thank you... dear plant." She said awkwardly and the ivy started letting go. Ellie pet it until it went back to the window.
Looking back at her plant, Ellie smiled and sighed with relief. It was plenty dark now.

Again, Sierra peered at her notes regarding the homework assignment. Well, at least the next set of instructions didn't involve something completely ridiculous. Sierra was glad the singing and dancing part of the assignment had come to an end. She picked up the watering can, emptied it, and then returned it to the shelf it had once been on.
Before she returned back to her plant, Sierra stopped by the stored cupboard and retrieved a bag of blood and bone mix. Ewww. WHOSE blood and bones were in here anyway? The mixture was disgusting, and Sierra tried hard not to think about it. Not only that, she had to take a pinch of it, according to the instructions. At least she had her gloves on. No way was she touching blood and bones with her own bare hands.
Back at her work station, Sierra reached deep into the bag and pulled out a single pinch of the substance. Gross. She sprinkled it around the bushling's base, all the while keeping a careful watch so as not to burn herself. With that done, she closed up the based and returned it to the cupboard.

Next step, sprinkle the mix. He left his plant momentarily to go to the store cupboards, donning his gloves so as not to burn himself. It was very difficult to see anything. He stuck his wand far into the cupboard and partially closed the door. "Lumos," he said, trying to let as little light as possible into the greenhouse. Ah, there it is. Grabbing it, he said "Nox," to put out his wandlight.
He walked back towards his plant. The light had reminded him that he never thanked the ivy. "Thank you very much for helping me, ivy." He gave it a gentle, appreciative pat. That ought to do it!
Turning his attention back to his bush, he grabbed a pinch of mixture. Reaching under the bush, he was glad that his gloves were on, because he felt the heat radiating outwards, threatening to singe his skin. Sprinkling the blood and bone mixture, he was very careful not to brush the bush. His forehead broke into a sweat. Man, all you have to do in the winter is get yourself one of these bushes. Free heat!
