 Strong iron gates prevent students from getting out while making sure anything unwanted stays out. They can only be opened by the Professors and Staff and are always open on Hogsmeade weekends to allow for passage to the village. | |

Logan made his way down to the front gate after a nice breakfast in the Great Hall. He sighed happily, and looked around. There weren't many people here today, which was nice because it was so peacefull. He sat down on the ground and looked up at the sky, realizing it was already February...which meant..Valentines Day...he smiled.

Travis chased after the little critter from outside the locker room. How often do you see a Raccoon in the magical world? Obviously not often enough. "Don't Run, Mr. Raccoon. I just wanna pet ya."
Trav chased it up to the front gate... No. It's Gonna Get Away!
Travis stopped an pouted. There was no point in chasing it out. There was no way to reach it once it get through the gate. Travis fell to his knees and watched as the little creature slowed and slipped through the bars.
The raccoon looked back at him as if taunting the first year.
"So It's a staring contest you want?" Trav slowly crawled towards the gates and sat criss-crossed and stared at the little burglar. "So it's a staring contest you'll get." Was no way Travis was losing a staring contest to a lower life form.
But it was SO CUTE!
No! Just stare, you can win this!
The Raccoon passed back through the bars and stared up at Trav... ooh this was gonna be an interesting game. Trav tried to remainas Stern and emotionless as possible. | |

When Amelia headed down to the grounds tonight, she had in her mind the desire to see the constellation Gemini since she had heard that it looked like two people beside each other. That made since since the Zodiac sign named after the constellation was a set of twins.
She set her telescope down on the ground making sure that it was placed level. When she was satisfied, she looked into the lens and at the stars in the sky. She adjusted things a bit to get the focus perfect and then looked at the coordinate paper that she had brought with her:
Quote: Right Ascension: 7 hours
Declination: 20 degrees
Visible between latitudes 90 and -60 degrees
Best seen in February (at 9:00 PM) She entered the coordinates into her telescope and then searched through the skies until she had it perfectly. She adjusted the focus a little bit so that it was clearer and then stared at the skies. She could draw in her mind the lines that made the two people, and she could tell which stars made up the head, and which ones marked the ends of each limb.
After looking for a little while she moved away from the telescope and got her notebook out from her bag. With the image still in her head, she made a sketch of the constellation before packing her stuff away and disassembling her telescope. It was time for her to head back inside and do some more homework. |
