SPOILER!!: Williamson "Sure thing, Professor," Alyssa said grabbing a slab of meat in each of her hands and quickly sprinted to the edge of the Forbidden Forest. She stopped a couple of yards from the forest and lay down first one slab meat and then walking back a couple more feet before lay down the other slab of meat like a trail leading into the forest. Then she ran back to where the Professor and the older students were still standing, slowing down to a walk when she neared them because she didn't want to scare the Thestral. "I did what you asked me to do, Professor. Do you want me to grab a few more slabs and do the same again?"Alyssa asked the Professor. She was actually enjoying the opportunity to run without having to worry about getting yelled at for doing it. She was a good runner but always had to be careful not to run in the castle because she didn't want to get punished for running in the halls and lose house points, or worse yet, get detention again. |
Nate did what the professor said. Even though he could see them because he did see his mother die. And his father. Nate took a piece of meat and ran towards the edge of the forbidden forest and layed down th piece of what looked like rabbit. He was hopeing it was rabbit. Anyways he went up to the professor and said "I can see the thestral perfectly fine. I saw my mom and dad die. I'm not to devistated now. Knowing that I'm here at hogwarts were I'm safe. That's why I don't roam the streets to much." Nate said trying not to make it look like back talk. Because some people he knew would consider that back talk. |
Kurumi nodded when Professor Williamson gave her some simple instructions to follow and grabbed some nondescript pieces of meat and walked a few feet away from where he and Vashti were standing. The trail couldn't be too concentrated with meat or else they risked the thestral getting full and their plan would back fire. It was a good thing Kurumi was already somewhere around ten feet away from everyone when talk about dragons had really started. Kurumi had been too distracted by the situation to have it register what the professor had said, BUT had it...well...there would have been one very very sad Gryffindor prefect on the man's hands and more than a few tears. Kurumi set another piece down, and then another, and another until she had met up with the start pieces Alyssa had set down. Kurumi then removed her wand from her pocket. "Scourgify...Tergeo," she said, casting both spells on her hands and robes to remove any blood there might be. She didn't want the creature to become attracted to her. That would be bad. Kurumi then stood off to the side to allow Professor Williamson to finish what he was doing and hopefully this lost...or whatever it was...thestral would be able to go back home. |
The thestral watched curiously as the little humans started laying out a meal for him. Was this a sign of worship? Were they worshipping him? It wouldn't surprise him if they did. He eyed off the chunk of dragon flesh in the mans hand. It did look rather good, it smelt good too. Slowly, he took a few steps toward him, elongating his neck so that he wouldn't get too close. Locking it inbetween his teeth he yanked the meat from the mans hand, resulting in bloody juice flying in the little human girls' direction. |
Nate watched as the dragon flesh got ripped out of the professor's hands. Wow that thing was strong. Nate took out his notebook and opened up to the same page. He wrote down that thestrals like meat, and they are strong. Nate then closed his notebook in time before blood was about to cover it from the dragon skin. He was wondering if he would be able to touch it. He looked at his hand to see if it was covered in blood. Nope no blood on it. He then took one step closer to the thestral and put his hand out. He was wondering whether it would allow him to pet it or if it would try to bite his hand off. Nate was hopeing it would allow him to pet it. That would be bad if it bit off his hand. He didn't want to have go to the hospital wing to get a thestral bite looked at. |
Toss the meat to... Yeah, Vashti was already regretting it. She didn't want to touch the icky, bloody, raw meat. She really didn't. Perhaps this was why she'd failed with a P on her Care of Magical Creatures OWL. The testers could probably sense she wouldn't be very willing to just take care of and feed any creature that came her way, and they stopped her from even considering pursuing a career that dealt with them. It all made sense now. Except they obviously hadn't anticipated the possibility of a thestral wandering onto the grounds when she happened to be out there and of the professor asking her to help feed it. Way to think ahead, OWL people. Vashti leaned down to gingerly grab one of the scraps of meat, trying to keep a straight face and hoping she wouldn't get sick from this. She watched as Kurumi and the other students laid out some of the meat in the direction of the forest and then as the thestral actually took the meat from Professor Williamson's hand. Ewww. And now she had a job to do. "Professor?" Best to get his attention and make sure he actually wanted her to toss another piece to him. |
gah! major catch up *head desk* SPOILER!!: Alyssa Vickers leaned towards the direction of the Hufflepuff, still trying to speak discreetly in the presence of the Thestral "Hi Alyssa, I'm Vickers." he said returning her introduction "Uh yeah, but I cant tell if its peeing simply because its a defensive behavior or its peeing to mark a territory." Although looking at the Thestral demeanor he was thinking its the former. SPOILER!!: Kurumi Vickers' eyes darted towards the direction of the Forbidden Forest, brows furrowed thoughtfully "Frightened out of the Forest? Maybe.... or perhaps something was encroaching on its usual territory and is now scoping for a new one?" He looked at the defensive Thestral, then at the Front Gates "If it does have a good sense of direction, it wasnt lost... it was trying to get out. Trying to roam." That was his guess anyway SPOILER!!: Mr Thestral and Mr Thestral Whisperer rotfl! Vickers watched with rapt attention at how the COMC Professor dealt with the creature. He already had a good idea on how to deal with frightened animals, but picking up a few new tips certainly wouldnt hurt. He eyed the food bucket on the other man's hand and raised his brows when dragon meat was mentioned. Not often indeed. Or was it even entirely legal? His eyes darted from the Thestral then back to the castle. Part of him just wanted to leave the Death-reminder behind and go about his amateur cartography like he planned, but he's always had a thing for helpless animals, whether or not they looked like they needed his help "I can help lead the trail to the forest Professor." he said finally. He gripped his wand to his side, ready to levitate whatever needs to be laid onto the ground. |
SPOILER!!: Vickers "Oh I see. Just as long that doesn't mean that he's going to attack us, that's more important." Alyssa told Vickers. **********************different timeline***************** Quote:

Nate looked at the creature as it ate the dragon skin. Ech how can it eat that stuff. And the stench from it was just awful. Nate just couldn't believe he was going to do this. He took another step closer to the beast with his hand out. He was then going to wait to see what it would do. |
The thestrals milky eyes followed the little humans, before landing on the trail of food. That taste of blood and flesh had his stomach groaning for more. Trotting forward awkwardly, bones jutting out at odd angles, leathery wings flapping gently, he starting picking up the treats from the ground with his teet.. barely chewing before he swallowed the delicious meal. He began making his way forward slowly. |
Nate thought to himself I should step back. So he put his hand down and stepped back. Then he thought this is working. It was a good thing he got the professor. But he couldn't have done so without the gryffyndor's help. If she didn't say out loud if someone should get the professor they would've been in a big mess. Probaly injuries, screaming, arguing, all that type of stuff. Then that would've led to the thestral charging and even more injuries. He watched as it followed the trail of meat. |
awwwwwwww thestral <3 Williamson kind of...ignored the small child that was hovering below his elbow, babbling on about his parents dying and how he was able to see thestrals because of it and blah blah blah etc. He was far too focused on the thestral just now to listen to anyone who wasn't dying. No offense, kiddo. Instead, he waited patiently with a calm expression on his face, his hand outstretched toward the creature in a gesture of friendship. Willy nearly chered when the thestral snapped the meat right out of his hand, but instead of pouncing on him and giving him a big hug "All right, everyone, that's enough of the meat, I think. Thanks for your help. Let's let the handsome fella have some room to eat, okay??" He put his bloody hands out like a barrier to keep that eager Puff away. "Space. Pretend there's an invisible line here between you and the thestral. You shall not pass!" The line. You shall not pass the line, that is. Let the thestral make his way back to the forest on his own time. |
Love that you shall not pass line. Reminds me of Gandalf xD Quote:

are we taking the hobbits to isengard too?! Ew. Could Kurumi cast some spells on Professor Williamson's hands to clean them up? Wouldn't the blood dripping from them distract the threstral from where he really needed to be going? Then again, he was the expert. Kurumi took several more steps away, making sure that any younger students followed suit by giving them one of THOSE looks. Now, all there was to do was wait as the invisible to her creature continued to make his way towards the forest. Well, at least she assumed that that was what he was doing. She glanced back at Professor Williamson, about a million questions running through her head at once. She would have to try and speak with him later, right now was not the time. |
The thestral, with his head hung low to the ground, continued to sniff out the rest of the meat scraps. His hooves carried him forward, slowly, away from the front gate. |
Ryan stood there watching as the Threstral walked slowly away from the Front Gate.Should he be jumping around because he saw one for the first time.Well if he was supposed to he wasn't. Watching A Professor guiding the Threstral away he got up and put his hands in his pockets and walked back up to the Common Room. |
Alyssa asked Professor Williamson."Uh...Professor. Has the Thestral taken the bait and is safely back in the Forbidden Forest? It's hard for me to tell. I can see the slabs of meat trail disappearing but I can't see that far. I hope that it makes it there without any problem and joins his friends there." |
Kurumi continued to stand back, slowly making her way towards Professor Williamson where she knew she would feel safer. He WAS the creature expert after all. Unfortunately, as Kurumi's eyes continued to search for the invisible creature to no avail, Kurumi's black leather school shoe found something she would have much rather preferred it hadn't. "Ewwwwww..." she squeaked, shaking her foot and trying to get some of the threstral pee off her. Why had it done that in the first place? Marking its territory? Did that mean that thestrals were territorial creatures? Why the front gate? WHY HER SHOE?! Looking up again, Kurumi waited with a very disgruntled look on her face. Walnut would get a laugh out of this one...no doubt. |
Did she really have to step back and let it eat? Didn't horsies like being pet while they ate? Nevertheless, she took a few steps back. Well... she mostly followed Kurumi. She was the Prefect. Plus, Carter told her to follow her if she ever got lost. And Anya was definitely lost. Of course... Carter probably meant physically lost. "Erm... Kurumi. You stepped in something..." Anya commented looking down at the ground. Of course, Anya knew exactly what the Prefect stepped in. But bathroom words weren't polite in public. "And the horsie is over there..." she whispered nodding in the direction of the thestral. She didn't want Kurumi to feel awkward staring in the wrong direction. |
Enough of the meat? So...she had picked up this icky scrap of meat for nothing? ...Lovely. Vashti set the meat back where it belonged and quickly used her not-bloody hand to grab her wand and cast a couple Scourgify's on her hand as she backed away from the thestral as the professor instructed. Gross gross GROSS. She really should've waited to see if Professor Williamson had even needed another piece of meat before touching it. Merlin, she was definitely taking a shower once she got back to the castle. Scourgify just didn't seem like enough... ...And it seemed she wasn't the only one who was going to need a shower. Poor Kurumi had just stepped in...something. And now she was shaking her foot to get it off. Urgh. Vashti took a couple quick steps back, hoping none of it had gotten on her. But...she ought to help somehow, shouldn't she? "Maybe you should Scourgify your shoe," Vashti suggested. She could do it, or Kurumi could do it herself. Either way, it would hopefully make her shoe clean(ish) again. |
The front gate...somewhere Logan hadn't been to yet! He walked down to it, his guitar in hand, and looked around for any familiar faces. He then sat down with his guitar and began singing and playing. What a beautiful day! |
Kurumi glanced up at Anya. "Yeah...um....I did..." she mumbled while she continued to shake her foot. Merlin...this stuff smelled...awful. Really really awful. Why did the invisible creature have to go and pee on the ground. And then why did she have to go and step in it?! Kurumi looked over at Vashti next, but her eyes went right past the Head Girl and towards the edge of the Forbidden Forest where a crowd of students were gathering. JUST when they had managed to lead the thestral away from the grounds and back into the forest...NOW what was going on?! "Um...Professor Williamson..." Kurumi called over her shoulder to the Care of Magical Creatures professor. "I think we have a situation on our hands..." Well, a new one anyway. Opperation Save the Thestral was over and now Opperation That Still Needed a Name was about to begin. If he needed help dealing with students well, that was what she had Vashti were here for really. |
Just when she thought Kurumi was going to take her suggestion or perhaps let Vashti do it for her, the Ravenclaw noticed that the younger girl wasn't exactly looking at her - she appeared to be looking past her. Vashti wasn't sure whether she wanted to find out what Kurumi was looking at - what if there was some other scary creature standing right behind her?! - but when the Gryffindor turned to the professor and said that they had a situation on their hands, Vashti couldn't help but cast a glance over her shoulder as well. Dear Merlin. Were those STUDENTS heading for the Forbidden Forest?! The same forest, of course, that the thestral was going into. Did those students really think it was a good idea to go into the Forbidden Forest anyway, with or without a thestral heading for the same location?! She turned back to face the professor, waiting for his reply to Kurumi's observation. Oi... |

Yes, children, TO THE FOREST! *zooooooms* Quote:
"Children? At the forest?" Willy shook his head as if to clear it and then started jogging off in that direction. "THE FORBIDDEN FOREST IS FORBIDDEN FOR A GOOD REASON!!!" |
