Welcome to Hogwarts! You enter and leave the castle through two great oak front doors to stand in the majestic Entrance Hall. There are numerous doors and staircases leading off from the hall as well as the four house points hourglasses

Gideon bit the inside of his cheek to keep from sighing as Presley didn't react all to well about what he had said. That and to keep her reaction from actually getting him upset himself. Maybe he shouldn't have mentioned it was part of his homework. "Nae...its alright, really," he said trying again to keep the younger girl from getting too upset. "Technically it was an extra since I had decided to make two for here," the Gryffindor explained motioning to the other---the safe and intact--flower arrangement. He could be upset in his own way later...he wouldn't drag others down for an accident.
"Aye...I could see ye being embarished," he mused with a simple nod. "But as long as ye are okay."

Regardless of his unconcerned air about the smashed flowers, Presley could tell he was upset, but didn't want her to know. She nodded in response to his making sure she was okay. It was nice of him not to freak out. Presley knew if the roles had been reversed she probably would have been screaming at him. She couldn't believe how kind he was being about his ruined homework. "Thanks. And I really am sorry. If there's anything I can do?" She might be able to repare the vase, and manually put the soil back in it. And with a little bit of magical aid, maybe she could get the flowers growing again?
August hopped down the last flight of stairs that led into the Entrance Hall, the end to his long journey through the Castle from Gryffindor Tower in order to get some dinner. He started to walk towards the doors leading into the Great Hall, the smell of chicken floating on the air, but stopped to retie his shoe.
★ BabyQuad ★ PERRY THE PLATYPUS ★ Ern's Fave ★ dangerous with brooms ★
The chicken had been burnt. Didn't the House-elves know anything about cooking food for just the right amount of time? The least they could have done was serve he burnt chicken to the Gryffindors and not to the staff. Quickly making his exit of the great hall Scabior pushed the door open, and took a couple steps, almost tripping over the fourth year lion.
"I doubt that it's a smart decision to tie your shoe right in front of a doorway." He said looking at August as if the boy had acquired some kind of brain damage.

"I doubt that it's a smart decision to tie your shoe right in front of a doorway." He said looking at August as if the boy had acquired some kind of brain damage.
Darn. His shoe was in one of those stubborn 'there's still a knot yet one of the laces is hanging loose down the side of the shoe'. The Gryffindor had just finished fixing it when he felt a wave of air pass by his head, making his hair move ever so slightly. Someone had nearly run into him.
"Oh Professor Scabior, um sorry. My shoe came untied and I didn't want to trip." The man always seemed to mean as of late. August had never done anything to make this man so angry all the time. Perhaps he just missed his kid.
He was just about to excuse himself to go eat when he remembered the rune in his jeans pocket. He fished it out and then spoke again, "Sir, I was actually going to look for you after I ate. I made this for you." he held out the rune for the man to take. "It's for my Ancient Runes homework. I had to make a rune for a Professor and then give it to them while telling them why I chose that one for them." The Ansuz sign shown from the top of the rune as it layed in the boy's hand.
"I chose Ansuz because it represents a revealing message or insight, and often deals with communication. It reminds me of the time when we met over the break in Diagon Alley and when Kyroh had wandered off after you communicated with him to stay. Then Professor Schrimer and I acted as reveiling mesengers to you bringing your son with us." He beamed proudly at the man, hoping he would appreciate his hard work.

Nerida walked into the entrance hall, avoiding her sister. She looked around for a familliar face, seeing Arabella. She walked over to her and said Hello, Arabella. Hows everything going? She remembered that she had owls this year, she wondered if she was ready for them or not..

Nerida smiled back at Arabella-Marie and said Thats great, your being opptomistic, its never good to be a pestimistic. Cause if your a pestimistic only bad outcomes will happen but opptomistics always get good outcomes! Wow, she tended to ramble when talking to Arabella.

Emrys shuffled nervously, the soles of his chucks scuffling against the hard floor. In his arms he cradled a picnic basket, mercifully charmed with an extension charm and a lightening charm. He'd... perhaps gone overboard in the kitchen, but he got a long with the house elves - surprisingly enough - and they were more than willing to help him load the basket with whatever he could find.
Plus, he'd forgotten to ask her what she liked! What if she was a vegetarian and he only brought meat? Or if she had an allergy and sent her into shock? Or... Emrys started to panic, worried that he'd forgotten something.
Was this a date? He felt his face get warm thinking about it. Surely she had a boyfriend? But she'd held his hand. His head swam and he tried to breathe deeply.

What if she stood him up?
Holding her tabby cat with one arm and her canvas bag with the other, Louisa was running down the stairs enthusiastically. She'd allowed herself to take the evening off and work on Emrys' bubble issue. Finding someone who talked books like herself was next to impossible so she was going to hold on to the boy with her hands and teeth... in a not creepy way.
"Emrys!" She called a few feet from behind him. He had a picnic basket! "Hi," Louisa's eyes were glued to the basket, "This is going to be fun! I like picnic food." She liked food in general though. "I brought candies. My last package from Honeydukes." Lifting her bag in front of him in a gesture to the candies.
Oh! And, "Meet Viola," Louisa said cheerfully extending the cat toward him. He could... shake paws with her or something. "I hope you don't mind me bringing her. She's been locked up in the dorms for so long and I didn't think it was a good idea to go out on a picnic without her." He got used to her rambling, didn't he?

Emrys' breath caught in his throat as he turned and saw Louisa standing behind him, looking, well, to his opinion, stunning. He suddenly felt self-conscious in his zipped up hoody, but glad it covered his "Wizard with Words" tee shirt from his mom.
He smiled awkwardly. "Well, there's certainly plenty. I didn't know what you would like.". He shrugged before noticing the candy. "Oh, if that's your last bag, you really don't need to share it with me."
He blinked a little bit at the cat, thankful that his mother had had the foresight to supply him with a terms worth of allergy potion. "Hello there, Viola," he said looking from girl to cat and nthen back, keeping his hands to himself.
"So," he said, picnic basket swinging in his hand, "where shall we start our picnic/tour? Your choice."
He sorta stuck his free arm out, but not so drastically that it would seem like an offer. She could take it if she wanted, but if she didn't, hopefully it wouldn't seem too forward.

Nerida nodded and said Slow and steady wins the race. She laughed how "grown-up" she was talking. So, other than studying for OWLS what have you been doing?

Louisa waved his worry off, "It's all right. I'm not very picky with food." Especially after her sixteenth birthday. The girl grew closer to food and candies in particular. She blinked at his words then. She shouldn't share it with him? "No way. We're going to eat them up today." The girl linked her arm into his and maneuvered him toward the door, "Good thing I only had some spaghetti ages ago." Like two or three hours.
His lack of communication with Viola didn't go unnoticed. The cat was too busy trying to get free of her owner's grip to acknowledge it though. Louisa furrowed her eyebrows at that, worried. "You're.. not allergic to cats, are you?" Which was the only excusable reason of why he hadn't patted Viola. If he indeed was allergic then it was very insensitive of Louisa.
"We can go to the Duck pond. Very colorful place." Unless he was allergic to ducks too. They could just go to the topiary garden then and pretend that the animal trees are actual animals.

Emrys laughed nervously. "I am, but it's fine. I knew there would be a ton of cats around here, so I just have to take a potion every so often." You know, so he could breathe. Even so, his nose tickled a bit, either from habit or actual reaction, he wasn't sure. He twitched it involuntarily, which he was sure looked funny.
Her arm securely in his, he thought over her proposal. "Yes, that sounds good. Can you lead the way?" Emrys wasn't entirely sure if he actually knew the way to the duck pond. He shifted the basket again, so that it wouldn't bang him in the hip as they walked.

Nerida raised an eyebrow and asked St. Mungos? What happened? When ever she heard St. Mungos she knew something had gone wrong, just like she knew it when she read it in her fathers letter about her mum.
for CoMC *giggles* but feel free to claim if you want XD

This had been just the outlet that the Gryffindor had needed. A creative way to apply herself and keep her mind off things. As usual, Kurumi had gone a bit overboard with the assignment, but really didn't expect to have any extra payoff from it. Nope. She just really really got into it and had quite literally lost track of time while making posters.
SPOILER!!: le poster! Warning...LARGE size
Which is why she was here now, in the entrance hall, to put up one of her posters. Shuffling her feet, Kurumi walked right up to one of the doors and removed her wand from her pocket and unrolled one of her posters, casting a Semi-permanent Sticking Charm on the paper and then pressed it up against the wood. Good, now everyone would be able to see it as they came and went.
With a spring in her step, Kurumi wandered off towards the Great Hall to grab some breakfast.

Ella returned from the grounds, her arms loaded with books after doing some light reading by the lake. The first year used her tiny body to push through the large oak doors, her shoe laces dragging menacingly on the floor. Those went unnoticed though, as the young badger was entirely focused on making it to the staircase without spilling the armload of literature. She was almost there, triumph in her eyes, when her left foot stepped forward, stomping the shoelace from her right, and the 11 year old was sent crashing to the floor, a confetti explosion of books falling open around her.

Logan walked into the Entrance Hall after a nice walk around the grounds. The large poster Kurumi was putting up caught his eye. As Kurumi walked off to the Great Hall, he waved to her. "Hiya, Kurumi!" he said, watching as she disappeared. He then walked up to the poster and examined it. OH. Well. Now he was prepared the next time some big...creature came charging towards him. He shuddered at the memory of the skrewet. And then just the person who was with him when that happened popped up: Ella Bishop!

Logan was going to walk up and probably give her a large hug when suddenly, she was crashing to the floor, books flying everywhere. He quickly walked up to her, and helped her up. He then went around picking up all her books and handed them to her. "Are you alright, Ella?" he asked as he got down on one knee to tie her shoe.
