Ducks, fifteen in all and quite possibly already named, live in this pond. Go on, take a seat on the rocky ledge and dip your feet into the water! Rest assured, these ducks will not bite, but if you just so happen to have any type of bread or cookies on you at the time, the ducks have been known to take without asking.
Waylon keeps a good eye on the pond and the ducks, so no funny business.

Minerva desperately tried to open her eyes, but she couldn't she still had Harvey's hand, but the warmth around her was getting worse. She felt like she was about to be sick and she pulled tighter on Harvey's hand then in an instant let go her arm falling and her head slipping off Justin's shoulder. She was lifeless in his arms. Justin felt Minerva go limp in his arms and he called over his shoulder to Harvey, " Harv, we need to move fast. She's passed out or something. " Then he looked back down at her and said to her, " Hang on, Angel. we'll get you there...the both of us will see you through this. Daisy walked through the grounds, looking slightly weird with the large loaf of dry bread in her hands. Ok. Scrap that. She looked extremely weird, no wonder she was getting 'what on earth?' looks from people, but as she walked closer to the pond, it made a little more sense. No, she wasn't going to eat the bread - the ducks were. Strictly speaking, she hadn't actually checked if she was allowed, but she really couldn't be bothered, and she could see nothing wrong with throwing the little duckies some dry bread the house-elves were going to otherwise get rid of.
She settled herself down by the pond, glancing at other people before breaking small bits of bread off the large loaf, and chucking them absently mindedly to the ducks.

Minerva could hear voices saying about the hospital wing. She opened her eyes and looked around. "I...I'm ok. I.. think.. I just..fainted for a second. I'll be ok." still speaking weakly. Minerva looked around seeing Harvey and Justin's worried faces. "I'm sorry to scare you, must have been just to much excitement today."she tried to quietly joke. She looked at Justin and whispered "You could just help me to the common room. I think I just need sleep."
Ariella made her way towards the Duck Pond, her bag slug over her left shoulder. She needed to get drawing on her stupid picture frame for Transfiguration. Was she excited about showcasing her awful drawing skills? No.
She found a flat rock that was large enough for her to sit on, so she spread out her things and took out a folder full of papers. She was going to need quite a few blank sheets, anticipating that she would be messing up quite a few times. Ariella had decided to use a Muggle pencil for the task. Everyone had said that it was better for sketching.
Placing her pencil to her paper, she started out with a few wispy lines for the outline of her frame. She kept in mind the golden picture frame in her room that held an image of her cat, Maggie.

Harvey saw her go limp and was about to rush to the Hospital Wing when she opened her eyes again.. and looked around and reasurred them that she was fine she then whispered something about the common room. He looked at the ground and he gave the bags to Justin as he walked her back to the common room. He watched them leave together as he left the duck pond area.. he needed to go somewhere else.. and besides he felt suffocated being here. So he left in the other direction once Minnie and Justin were out of sight.

Ella had just finished running and her feet were killing her. She rounded the corner where the duck pond sat and smiled. She walked over to the rocky ledge and sat down, breathing heavily. It wasn't ideal weather for getting wet but she thought that dipping her feet in the cool pond would make them feel much better. She peeled off her socks and unlaced her sneakers. Slowly, she lowered her feet into the pond."Aaaaa...perfect."She closed her eyes as she swished her feet around in the water.
Jez closed her eyes, forgetting about everything else around them for a moment. Tears collected behind her eyelashes, threatening to spill over, and she pressed her face into Nate's shoulder to hide it. "We do need help," she whispered. "Where will we go in the summer? How are we going to protect ourselves?" She didn't expect Nate to know the answer to those questions, but she had to voice them or she'd go crazy. And since she was letting it all out ... "I got a letter," she mumbled, pulling away from the hug and fumbling in her pocket. "A few days ago." She unfolded the paper, which looked worn like it had been read many times before, and showed it to Nate and Jordan.
Jez bit her lip, looking down. "I tried to tell him you guys don't know anything," she said quietly. "He doesn't believe me." Jared didn't believe the lie, because she had told her friends everything. Stupid girl. She shouldn't have dragged everyone into it. She told herself that every day, every time she thought about it, but she still couldn't change it. And now Jordan was involved ... "I don't know what to do," she admitted, finally answering Jordan's question. She ran her hands through her long hair, which was starting to tangle again without Sam's constant badgering to look after it. "I don't know, I don't know, I don't know!" And it was not knowing that was killing her inside.
Nate clamped his arms back around Jez, even if only to keep her from tearing her hair out. "Scalping yourself won't help," he said, "I don't know what to do either. We still have Keegan and Des, and now we've got Lex and Kieran, too." Hopefully this was helpful.
Nate took the pictures from Jordan and stuffed them in his pocket. No way he was about to look at those again. "Thanks," he muttered. This situation sucked. It thoroughly sucked. Releasing Jez, he took a step back. "One thing that's for sure is that we need to stick together. If we're going to die, I don't want to go down without a fight."
"I would." he said softly to her. And he would too. "Me mum and dad haf each other te celebrate with. "I would haf ye." That appealed to him, an almost empty school all to themselves! Lot's of mischief to get into then, as well as the place nearly to themselves. "Who knows, with all the excitement of the anniversary of Hogwarts, there very well might be something happening fer the holidays!"
"Yes, might be a good time te go there. Nice and quiet, and if ye don' mind the dark, it's the perfect time me thinks." He didn't mind the dark much, both in Egypt and in Arizona when it was dark it was really dark, and it got dark very quickly there as well. He also knew though that claustrophia can be worse at night "Ye, don' really haf te go though, especially if I go at night."
Nodding he could understand that "I wouldn' want a bruise either, but bruise cream works te, if it does bruise.
Isaac's words warmed her heart and she was fairly beaming once he said them. There was no doubt in her mind that he was the sweetest guy in the whole world and that the fears he had expressed to her on a previous occasion about being a bad boyfriend were completely unfounded. Indeed she didn't even know where he'd gotten the idea that he could be one, especially when he acted like this.
"Considering I like dancing in the rain, or out under the stars I think one can assume that I like the dark. In fact, I might even love the night. It's magical..." So was his offer to go just a polite one then? Or was he worried that her attacks would be worse at night because she wouldn't be able to see the way out? Not that her's were. She actually did quite well at night time surprisingly, maybe because she'd never been afraid of the dark.
"If you don't wish for me to go with you I wont... However, if your worried about me then I hope I can set that aside by letting you in on the fact that I've very rarely had a panic attack at night. The only times I've had are when I've had a nightmare or woken up in a strange place," Amelia informed him, speaking slightly slower than she normally would as her words were hesitant. Because if it was the first option than he could have just said it and she didn't need to reveal the second to him, but if it was the second option, well her attacks still weren't things she really liked to talk about...
"I know. I'm just really bad at remembering to rub it in when I should," plus she didn't really like touching bruises since they, you know, HURT. And so sometimes even when she did remember to do so she wouldn't.

His face beamed down at her as she said she liked the dark, "I personally do te. It's more romantic and quiet te me. Not really frightening, things can hide yeh, but it's more of a peacefulness." That was his opinion of the dark, clouds weren't as nice, but to be able to see the stars at night even in the coldness of winter it was a perfect time to be outside in his eyes.
Looking at her surprised he shook his head as he tilted his head to look at her better again "No, not at all. I jus' wasn' sure if what happened years ago was affected at night. Things can kind of close in the darker it is, seemingly. I would luff fer ye te come." he said honestly. Waking in a strange place, well that could be one reason she'd not want to come to Scotland! "And if ye do decide te go te Scotland, we could jus' go fer the dinner and return afterwards." he added softly out of the blue. Because the comment about waking in a strange place brought that idea up.
"Don' rightly feel nice te rub it in." he said wrinkling his nose. It was true, and he knew it helped sometimes but it hurt!

Because he couldn't have gone up there just for a nice chat, that's for sure ...

She said, and put her hands on her hips.
"Well I do." She said, being stubborn. Then she realized what she had done. She quickly got up and ran over to the pond. "WHERE IS IT?!" She exclaimed, searching everywhere for it. She couldn't stand losing it. Then, shimmering in the pond, she scooped her hand into the water and grabbed the necklace. She took a breath of relief, and sat down again next to Everett. "How do you know?" She asked. "You should have seen him two summers ago, Jake got jealous and broke Isobel's new boyfriend's nose." She looked around.
Maybelle was smiling. "You're welcome, but mine are better." She had stopped crying, but stayed where she was, hugging Everett. She didn't want to leave here. Ever. She felt safe, like nothing could hurt her. Maybelle took a deep breath and brought her arms back to her side, but her head stayed resting on Everett's shoulder.
"Just because your hair is brighter than anyone else's doesn't make it awesomer than anyone elses." Also, bright hair was like a clowns, and Everett didn't like clowns. Not that he'd say that to her face. He did have some tact. "Mhhmmmm!" He said with some sass, before losing his sassy appearance and laughing. "You're so violent thinking," He commented amused. "Well yeah, because my guitar did break last year, and I didn't have time. OWLs and all," Everett said, making excuses even though it didn't really matter at all.
Everett shrugged slightly as she said she remembered. Then watched as she became frantic for the necklace she'd thrown. He'd thought that was a bit odd, the throwing it in the pond. At least she'd come to her senses now to find her jewellery again. "Because you don't just hate a girl because she lost interest... Well you do if you aren't a nice guy but still..." He trailed off slightly, blinking slightly as she mentioned how he'd broken someones nose. Maybe he wouldn't be so nice, and might come after him. Everett just had to protect his nose then. And maybe just himself in general. He didn't fancy any injuries.
Everett rolled his eyes, "Fine, you can believe that, and I'll believe that mine are the best hugs." He compromised. At least she wasn't crying or really upset now. He let her just lean on his shoulder, content for the moment.
Tayla wandered around the Hogwarts grounds until she finally decided to stay at the Duck Pond, hoping to get inspiration for her Transfiguration assignment. She took out a small notebook from her bag and reviewed the instructions.
"Design a picture frame on a piece of paper. Make it as detailed as you can, to test your powers of concentration," she read aloud to herself. "Use 'Statua Habitum' to turn the paper into the exact frame you drew. Practice as many times as it takes to get it exact. Then give the frame to a person of your choice as a gift."
She looked up from the paper and out to the pond. She didn't find it too hard to transfigure paper into picture frames - but she did find it challenging to make them look anything more than just plain white.
Tayla sat on a rock at the edge of the pond and took out a thin drawing book, a quill, and ink. She set them carefully beside her then started drawing.
At least...she was ready to start. But how exactly would she design this picture frame?
"Maybe it's a good idea if I decide who to give it to, first..." she realized.
After a while, Tayla had a sudden thought. "I know! Ari!" Ari mentioned something about her mother remarrying and her fear that things would change between them. "I'll design this frame for Ari and maybe she could use it to keep a special picture of her and her mother.
Tayla turned back to the paper and started to draw. A few minutes later, she put her quill down and admired her drawing. "I think that's good enough," she said happily. "Ari has to remember her mother will love her no matter what..."

Nate was slightly taken aback at Jez' accusational tone, but that was just the normal Jez. She had trust problems, and for good reason; there was no way Nate could blame her for what had happened. He did have to answer, though.
"I originally went up to say hi, and maybe have some small talk to relieve some of the stress. That went downhill when Tate asked me, jokingly of course, if I had set any fires over the summer. The news of my parents' deaths spilled out," he said, looking down at the ducks with an embarrassed blush on his face.

Jez's hands tightened slightly on her elbows. Oh shoot. Shoot, shoot, shoot. "Nate ... you know you're on your own as far as blood family goes, right?" Okay, that came out a little more bluntly than she'd intended, but she ploughed on regardless. "Tate might decide to contact the Ministry, and if they can't place your family members, you might be stuck in an orphanage. Pam too, if they find out about her parents as well. Have you any idea how easily Team Wolf could find you in that situation? It would be like dangling a dead rat right in front of a hippogriff's nose!" An easy kill, in other words. They wouldn't stand a chance, and probably none of the other kids who might be sharing a house with them would either. "Sitting ducks," finished Jez, staring at Nate.
Now that Tayla had finished drawing the frame, it was time for her to practice. She tore out the page she used from the drawing book then returned the book, quill, and ink back into her bag.
Taking out her wand, she traced the edges of the paper as instructed during Transfiguration class, and said "StaTUA haBItum!"
Nothing happened. Then realizing she had emphasized the wrong syllables, Tayla shook her head and tried again.
"StaTUA HABitum!"
The paper turned into a frame, but it wasn't at all as she drew. It was simply a white frame with blue streaks here and there - remnants of the blue ink she used to draw. "Oh great," Tayla sighed. This wasn't going to be as easy as she wished.
"Reverto," she said, and the frame turned back into her drawing. "At least the drawing didn't get ruined."
Seeing more students arrive at the pond, Tayla decided to head some place more quiet or more private to practice the spell. She kept her wand and the drawing carefully, took her bag, and left.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

"He has a hut here on the Hogwarts grounds. I can take you both there if you want." And she could even wait with them during the conversation as well, but she was sure that these two could handle it. She would only be there for moral support anyway.
Kurumi was a bit taken aback by Daichi's tone, but he was entitled to it. At least, she felt he was. She was missing his stuffed duck as well. For some reason, seeing Daichi without it just didn't seem like Daichi.
Now Kurumi couldn't help but giggle. "Daichi, why do you think the groundskeeper would laugh at you for wanting to have a pet duck?" Kurumi was pretty sure that the goundskeeper would be pleased to have someone who shared his love of fowl. He had certainly seemed the cheerful sort in the topiary garden when one of her ickle lions had decided to take it upon herself to climb up on the giraffe one. "I think you should go ask. Probably should apologize first since I believe the ducks are all a bit stressed out right now, but you should ask him. I bet he will let you help out."
As to what to do about his stuffed duck, should he want that back, well, that seemed to be a conversation that he was going to have to take up with whoever told him he couldn't bring it.
O_o he had to ask? "But..but why do i have to ask?" he slightly stuttered as he looked from Kurumi to Thea before he sighed deeply. Well, that was going to be an awkward conversation....
He DID feel a little better when the Prefect offered to come along and he nodded his head to show that he liked that idea faaar better than him going alone. What if the Groundskeeper was just as scary as Scabior and Williamson? Hmm.. talking about the latter , he still needed to apologize for hitting the man during class before his guilt ate him up.
Daichi snapped out of his thoughts as he heard Kurumi giggle and in all honesty, he didn't know why he would laugh. Shrugging his shoulders, Daichi didn't look at her but behind her as he watched the duck swimming in the water. A smile tucked on his lips and his eyes twinkled a little as he saw how the duck was going underwater with it's head. It was so cute~ "I don't know...." mweh he really didn't know what else to say.
Looking away from the duck , Daichi frowned in confusion as he stared at Kurumi. "...What is a fowl?" he asked cocked his head to the side in wonder. "Do i have to apologize? he...he doesn't know right?" he looked around for a sign of the man but didn't see him anywhere. "And if i do have to , can...can you come with me? He wouldn't laugh when a Prefect is with me right?" right? cue his puppy look eyes before he looked at Thea again. "I'm dragging you with me" he said and stuck out his tongue.
Aaron made his way down to the duck pond, he was only just back at Hogwarts and already in trouble. He shrugged, he knew Laura would get over it.
Besides, she could've contacted him too, if she wanted to talk to him so desperately. But she hadn't. And neither had Aaron, so really, nothing had happened.
He took a packet of cookies out of his pocket and ate one. He'd brought the cookies for Laura, but since she wasn't going to be talking to him any time soon he might as well just eat them himself.

Gustav was reading his favourite quidditch magazine, not really looking where he was heading to. He was too engrossed with the different models of broomsticks available in England. He simply had to purchase two of those latest models he spotted in one of the pages showcase in the magazine. He had to run back to the owlery tower so he could purchase it quickly. He turned around and broke into a run not looking up when he was supposed to.
BAM! He crashed head on to the person. He fell back on his bum. The impact surely must have thrown the person he hit quite as hard too.
"Urgh..."he mumbled in a daze.

Why did he have to ask? Wasn't that bit obvious? He wanted a duck and this seemed like a sure way for him to be able to get one the fair way instead of causing the ducks to migrate early. But, Kurumi could tell that Daichi really didn't need another mini lecture or anything that would make him feel any more uncomfortable than he already was. Instead, she simply gave the younger Slytherin a smile and a nod.
"A fowl is another word for a bird, especially ducks, geese, turkeys, or pheasants." Kurumi just left out the bit about many of them referring to the types of birds that were hunted for game...that would only make Daichi cry. "I think...it would be the right thing to do," Kurumi nodded, but she wasn't going to force him to.
Oh no...not the puppy dog eyes. Not that she was planning on saying no to him anyway. "Of course," she winked. Someone who loved ducks as much as Daichi should be able to help care for them. "Do you guys want to head over there...now?"
