Ducks, fifteen in all and quite possibly already named, live in this pond. Go on, take a seat on the rocky ledge and dip your feet into the water! Rest assured, these ducks will not bite, but if you just so happen to have any type of bread or cookies on you at the time, the ducks have been known to take without asking.
Waylon keeps a good eye on the pond and the ducks, so no funny business.
Little Hutchinson. Indy giggled, smiling at her big friend. She was pretty sure that she wasn't that Little anymore, but then she was younger than her brother. That was probably why she was called Little Hutchinson. Indy kind of liked. "A bit..." IT was kind of cold out here. But not was bad as she thought that it was going to be. Indy had kind of been coasting inside, thinking it was colder than it was.
"Just came for a walk." Indy mused with a smile. A walk in the cold. That was a little bit of a wierd question really. But oh well. "Oh...thanks." Yup. She loved her ear muffs. Even if she didn't really like the snow.
Just a bit? Probably because she was bundled up as she was.
Also, a nice simple answer. Ellie nodded. "It's awesome, right? The winter?" Her own favorite season. Or it should be. For the past few years, though, she's been sort of fond of summer. But that was simply because it meant no school. Winter was her favorite seasons for reasons she couldn't explain.
"You're welcome." Ellie closed the little book on her finger so she wouldn't lose her place, but Indy had her complete attention.

Winter was awesome. Really? Indiana kind of just stared blankly at her older friend a little. Indy didn't like the winter. No that much, because it kind of sucked. It was cold. It was all sad, and rainy. It was all dark. It was cold. "It's...." Indy paused, not really knowing how to explain it. She didn't really hate winter. But she didn't exactly love it that much. "It's okay." That was good. "I prefer other seasons." She mused with a smile. Yup. Summer was her favorite. It was all warm and pretty.
"What are you reading?" The second year inquired, nodding her head towards the book. It must been interesting, Ellie had seemed pretty engrossed in it when she'd come along.

Ellie raised an eyebrow. "You disagree?" She smirked. It didn't surprise her. Not many people seemed to like Winter. It might also be a reason Ellie did like it. She pitied it. It and it's lack of a fan base. "Other seasons are nice." But did other seasons have Christmas? Nooo. "Excited about the holidays, though?"
The Captain opened the book back up and held it up for Indy to see. "You can't really call it reading, I suppose." It was mostly diagrams. Some notes on the diagrams. But it wasn't like a book book. "I'm just getting prepared for the match."

A splash. There was a SPLASH at the edge of the pond and now William was more certain than ever that the hippogriff was going to pop out of its hiding spot and start attacking him and all the children. He winced, bracing himself for the coming attack, only to find that the hippogriff hadn't moved a muscle.

Leave all that to the professionals unless asked for an opinion right?
Kurumi's wand hand flinched towards the holster in her pocket. The temptation to cast a Silencing Charm on all the students was too tempting. Yes, they all wanted to know why there was a hippogriff here. Yes, everyone wanted to know what it wanted. Did anyone know? Nope. If someone knew the answers to all this it would be Professor Williamson and, well, he had already said that he wasn't sure...so...discussion over, right?
And then...CHAOS! Hippogriff was upset and everything was happening. Kurumi stumbled and FELL backwards INTO the pond. Great...just what she needed in this freezing water but...OH?! FISH! There were fish in here!
Splashing around just a bit as she attempted to grab a fish, Kurumi emerged from the pond with a decent sized one flopping around in her hands. Sure, she was dripping wet BUT she did have a fish.
Shooting looks at everyone to just hang back, Kurumi slowly walked up to Professor Williamson, her teeth chattering just a bit as she offered the fish to him. "P-P-Professor...m-m-m-maybe h-h-h-he l-l-likes sushi, erm...fish?"
Ah, well, that dripping prefect there would be the source of the splash, now wouldn't she.
"Hollingberry!" William hissed, summoning the fish from her hand to his, "get back there! Get to the castle! You're going to catch a cold like that!"
He gave her a stern glare but, pleased to have a treat in his hand, turned back to the hippogriff anyway. "Hey lookie here, bud, look what I got!" He waved the flopping fish about out toward the creature. "Do you know what I'm going to do with it?"
William side-skipped out toward the Forbidden Forest again. "Why I think I'm just going to take it into the forest and have myself a nice snack. How bout that. If you want some, you'll just have to follow meeeee....!!"
And he went trotting off to the forest, casual as all get out. HOPEFULLY, the crazy hippogriff would be following....

Oh, it was being pointed at Kurumi, that's better...WAIT, NO IT'S NOT!
He uncovered his mouth. Sir, I can move on my own now, could you please let go. He asked Tate quietly and politely.
"Maybe we should just avoid talking as much as we can," Tate did let go of the boy after hauling him up to his feet. He may have even brushed him off a bit, but his eyes were on the hippogriff. This certainly wasn't an emergency situation, but Tate was wary of how far south things could go.

Kurumi knew that it was a sort of acquired taste, raw fish that is, but she took the Headmaster as a sort of adventurous sort and one that would like sushi.
Looking down at the fish, Kurumi stepped back...way back...back to where she had been prior to falling in and slowly knelt down to return said fish into the pond. Okay okay...no fish...but they needed SOMETHING to entice the hippogriff to go back into the forest, right? Or...was Professor Williamson a Hippogriff Whisper TOO?! He was obviously a thestral whisper, seeing how he had handled things at the front gate. OBVIOUSLY.
Fish back in the pond, Kurumi bowed apologetically in the Headmaster's direction. He could...lower his wand now. See, scary fish was back in the pond. Hands up as if this were some sort of wizarding stick up, Kurumi stayed by the edge of the pond nice and far away from the hippogriff.
"I just need you to keep well back while the professor deals with this. You see those scratches on his arms? I would hate to explain to your parents why you lost an eyeball because you were being cuddly with a dangerous critter." And she was a Gryffindor.
The fish was a good idea, though, and WWW seemed to agree.

Alyssa walked out to the Duck Pond, making sure that she didn't trip over any of the stones in the dark, because she definitely didn't want to take a swim in the duck pond. She was glad that the moon was out because it provided her enough light to see her way around. She was here to do some star gazing. Finding a suitable spot, she removed her bag from her shoulder and quickly unzipped her bag. Taking out her telescope from its case, she quickly unfolded it and sat it standing up on a stone ledge. She then bent down to adjust and focus the lenses before peering through the viewfinder to look at the stars, only to realize that she needed a little help to make the stars clearer.
Taking out her wand, Alyssa tapped it on her telescope and said "Lens Focalis". Holstering her wand, she sat down again and looked through the viewfinder. She smiled when she saw that the spell had worked because now the stars definitely looked clearer. Alyssa slowly scanned the starlit sky looking for the Constellation Cancer. Tonight was March 15th and according to her guidebook, tonight was definitely the right night to be looking for it.
So Alyssa slowly moved her telescope tube from left to right studying each star formation she came across, until she found the one that she was looking for. She had found the Constellation Cancer. Alyssa noted the coordinates of the Constellation into her Star Journal Guide.

Happy that she had found what she was looking for, Alyssa quickly packed up her things, folding up her telescope and putting it back in its case before zipping up the bag and slinging it over her shoulder. Before leaving, she looked up at the sky one more time, before making her way out of the Duck Pond grounds and back to the castle.

It would do her fine. "I am!" Indiana loved christmas so much. She still needed to get Spike a present. She had no idea what to get him. At all. The boy was hard to buy for. "Are you?" She would assume so. Ellie seemed like a girl that would like christmas.
Oh. Indiana cocked her head to the side a little, looking at the diagrams. "Not really..." It was more of a picture book than a reading book really. Oh. The game. Indy was sad that she couldn't play. It was her first year on the proper team and she couldn't play! "I'm sure you'll do fine."

Kurumi was tempted to hiss Williamson back, but her teeth chattering put a stop to any attempt to speak. Castle, right...she could do that. resiting the urge to cast a Hot Air Charm right there, Kurumi hung her arms by her side as she made her way further away from the scene.

Getting cuddly? Well, Kurumi couldn't deny that she would like to get cuddly with a hippogriff...especially if it was a baby one. Did the one in front of them have a family? Perhaps some babies that they could see and get cuddly with? One more glance at the Headmaster told her to forget the theories and questioning and take Professor Williamson's advice and head back to the castle. Surely two grown men could handle this? Right?
"Actually, Headmaster, mother might like it if that happened," she said. Bit of dry humor there, but part of the Gryffindor actually believed that statement.

And then Kurumi saw Professor Williamson using her fish from earlier. See. SEE! Just because the Headmaster was clearly afraid of fish did not mean that the hipporgriff was too. Could she have caught a fish without falling into the pond? Yes, but things hadn't worked out that way.
Seeing that things were very much under control here, Kurumi wrapped her arms around herself in attempt to keep whatever warmth she had left in her body in and bowed to the Headmaster - Professor Williamson was a little distracted at the moment and probably wouldn't notice her.
With that, Kurumi continued to make her way away from the duck pond and back towards the castle. Looked like she was going to have to try and knit tomorrow. Sorry duckies!

Zhenya was starting to get really nervous before her first ever Quidditch match, which happened to be the first one of the year. She made her way out the castle, not even knowing where she was going. She finally stepped on something wet, and finally looked around, hearing the familiar quacks and little splashes of water.
She saw that she had made her way to the duck pond. Maybe her subconsciousness had led her here to calm down. Her insides were racing all around. She sat down and took off her shoes, socks, and rolled up her pants, and plunged her feet into the freezing cold water. She suspected it would be icy soon. Why were the ducks still there?
She shrugged to herself. Her legs quickly got used to the cold temperature, it was the Ruski inside her, and she began relaxing.

Jory looked at the drawings Gwen had made. "Wow!'' he said marveling at them. "These look very professional. I like the second one the most.'' Nature was a beautiful thing. "You should be an artist. Unless of course, you wanna be something else?''
''I've never been to Egypt. But I'd rather not skip classes,'' the Huffie said still admiring the pics. "Have you made any other drawings lately?''
"Yup, she never does. Muggle Studies is my favourite class. I think it's because I know everything Muggle but it's also because the Professor makes all the lessons so interesting.''Jory remembered Anastasia. He hadn't liked the love stuff but otherwise , it had a good plot. "I watched that, only cos my sister was watching it and I didn't have anything else to do. I grew up with the Lion King. Used to watch it over and over. I'm sure you'd like it.''
Jory often wondered what it was like to be brought up in a wizarding family. He had never spent time with one. "What's it like being born into a Wizarding family?'' he asked Gwen. "Your lifestyle was probably is way different from mine.''
As she heard Jory exclaim that ‘wow’, the third year couldn’t help grinning. ‘Thank you’ Wait-What? ‘Really? The second one?’, the girl asked and looked at her two drawings. Why? However, she soon heard im say something even more shocking. ‘Erm… are you serious?’An artist?!, Gwndolyn asked herself and remained a bit puzzled. ‘I don’t know if I’d be good enough…’, she went on talking and, after making a short pause, she added: ‘I have been thinking about becoming a healer’ Looking back at Jory, the Ravenclaw expected him to laugh or to be mind blown. There wasn’t any other way he could react to this. Anyway, not one that Gwen could think of.
Back to the topic about Egypt.‘Even just by reading books about it you can see how interesting it has to be…’, the third year mused. Her dad was probably going to come home for Christmas and then go back… maybe she could go some other time there. Like- in the summer holiday? Her dad was probably going to be stuck there with curse braking stuff anyway. Hmmm.
‘Nah… not many, I’ve been quite busy lately’, Gwen admitted. Looking back at her notebook, the girl tried to remember which drawings she had done in the past month. ‘Well- I started this one at the topiary garden, but I didn’t get to finish it yet’, Gwen said as she came across one of her sketches. ‘Anyway- you can look through it, if you want to’, she added, leaving the notebook at Jory.
O______o Muggle Studies- your favorite class?????‘Seriously?’, she said, looking really surprised. ‘I… er… it’s not that I don’t like it-‘, she went on talking. That was true, those classes were always interesting. ‘- I think I can’t really like it because I’m no good at it’, Gwendolyn admitted and laughed. Yes- there were three things at which she was a total disaster: Muggle Studies, cooking and singing. Psh.
‘You have a sister?’ I had no idea…‘Oh, well- I think I’ll go see it sometime, then’, she nodded. The lion king-Everyone seemed to be making such a big fuss about it…
Lifestyle… Hmm‘I’m not sure how different it is’ But it probably is.‘You see- I can’t really compare living in a wizarding family to living with muggles. I have spent very little time with muggles…’Aaaanywayyy-‘But living with wizards is really interesting. One of my favorite things when I was younger-‘*Ehem-hem*- even now-‘- was to look for interesting stuff and old enchanted objects at home…’ Tee hee…’That was fun until I came across some phials with a potion in them and accidentally spilled the liquid on the floor. Thank Merlin it didn’t explode. It just made a bit of a noise and started giving a spark, but meh…’ As she looked back at the pond, Gwendolyn wondered if she’d have liked living with muggles. Probably not.‘I’m not sure I could have lived without magic’, the Ravenclaw mused.

The moment the hippogriff started after Williamson, she stopped walking away from the creature, glancing around at the students. Or... those that were left. Most seemed to scatter with the passing of the dangerous beast. Well that wasn't so bad. And she was so sure it would have been earlier.
An easy smile tugged at the corners of her lips and she looked on at the hippogriff with interest. "You have good timing, Headmaster." Not that she didn't know that before, but incidents like these were always good reminders.

"Yup, the second one. I like any stuff with water- lakes, canals, beaches, you name it,'' Jory replied. "I don't know why but I've been obsessed with them since I was small. My mom used to tell me she always had to keep a sharp eye on me because one time when I was about two years, I wandered out of my cousin's house and fell into their kiddie pool. She said i almost drowned.'' The boy had absolutely no recollection of the incident but then again how could he? He'd been so tiny then.
Jory laughed at Gwen's shocked look. "Don't be modest. You gotta admit, they're excellent. You'd never be out of a job if you decide to quit another one,'' he teased her. "That's so cool! I was thinking of becoming a healer myself. Healer Stonewall sounds cool, you know,'' he joked.
The Huffie agreed with Gwen. "It's really interesting. Won't it be fun to explore the tombs?'' he asked wondering what they really were like in there. He looked at Gwen's partially completed sketch. "Not bad,'' he said "I'm telling you, in the Muggle world, art is very much appreciated. You would definitely be very famous there.''
Jory grinned. "You bet it is! Its fun "learning'' about the Muggle world from the wizarding standpoint,'' he said. "Ever read any muggle books?" he asked. "So then, what's your favourite subject?''
"Yes, Grace-she's ten years. I think don't think she's a witch though,'' Jory replied. He thought it'd be cool if she was a witch, he was kind of worried Grace would get jealous of him as she got older. It was something that bothered him alot.Right now, Grace looked up at him as sort of a hero and she'd adjusted to all the changes his life. But Jory had never voiced his worries to anyone not even his parents.
Jory listened to Gwen with interest. "Did you ever find out what he potion really was?'' he asked. "Did you ever find anything else interesting?"
Who didn't just like LOVE the duck pond... even though the ducks were getting.. a little pudgy! LuLu wandered down the edge of the pond to see a girl, a fifth year... meeeeeeeep! She did not want another episode of nargles, she smiled at her and sat down opening a book ''Do you mind?,'' she bit her lip a bit and looked around as if she hadn't noticed the girl
What? So this Ravenclaw girl just randomily sat down next to her. Hmmm she didn't aprove. Moving a little to the side so she wouldn't be so squashed. "Ahem. I didn't say you could squash me" she said. Didn't the girl know? She looked atleast in her second year. When could people use something called common sense. but that was a bit hypocritical

Blink blink! Well? Excu-. She sighed not wanting to go too diva on the subject. In case this girl had not noticed. It was a public place and she was aloud sit there if she wanted to! Besides she most defiantly was not sitting on top of her just in case this girl was not aware of that!! HMPH! LuLu moved away from the girl anyways but not because she commented on it for other reasons aswell. "Sorry," she replied normally

Logan walked down to the duck pond, smiling at all the snow. Ah, snow. It was so fun to play in! Snowball fights...snowmen...snowangels...so much fun activities! Logan looked down at the snow, thinking of what to do. He was rather bored today.
He then decided he'd build a snowman. That'd be nice! He began rolling the snow up into a big, BIG ball and then began rolling another one. This would be fun! Too bad there weren't any carrots for the nose. Maybe he'd use a pebble instead...
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

Oakey took just a few more steps back and stayed behind the Head Master. If instructed to help in anyway Oakey would jump right to it. He felt this would be unlikely though, out of everyone that ways here Kurumi or Arya would be the first on the job because of their age and prefect-iness. While Oakey would be turning 13 in just a few months his status no where near theirs.
He lifted his head from his thoughts then watched as Professor Williamson lured the Hippogriff back into the Forrest . It didn't look like his or anybodies help would be needed what so ever. This would have been a good indicator that Oakey wasn't needed but he stayed.

That was better. Everyone needed atleast one meter away from people unless they had a really bad excuse that somone just accepted.
Why was she in a bad mood? Maybe she was just upset that Slytherin didn't win against Ravenclaw and she was talking to a Ravenclaw, maybe. "So did you watch the bad quiditch match?"

She smiled at the girl now that, that was cleared up even though it'd come out more of blurr from where she was sitting! She looked around presuming that was indeed the end of the odd slyther claw conversation
Wait..
Apparently not. LuLu looked back up at her "Yes I did see it...," not to mention the Slytherin seeker fell and the captain unconscious.. weird match! But a win for the eagles!!!

The Hippogriff was following him now, yessssssss. Williamson continued stepping backward toward the Forbidden Forest carefully, still dangling the fish out in front of him to draw the hippogriff with him.
He shook his head at the Headmaster, calling back to him quietly, "No, just... just get the kids out of here." Please. He really didn't want anyone hurt today.

She looked back at the girl. She saw her smile as she did NOT give a smile back. She was clearly in a bad mood. Slytherin losing, Kimalia becoming unconcious, Isaac falling ect. It was bad day. And she definiatly remembered were this girl sat next to her and made her squash. Changing the subject was not clearing things up in her mind.
"You did. Well Congrats then for winning to our team. We clearly weren't ready for this."

Hmmm... perhaps she didn't see, but either way she was not very surprised if the girl ignored it, she didn't seem happy or anything! She looked away for something else to do... the conversation REALLY was not going anywhere they didn't even know each others names!
''Mhmm... Well I agree the match was on in such short notice but if our team was ready well I don't see how the Slytherin team wasn't, But I think the Slytherin team did well too...'' she replied
"I do." Indiana giggled with a grin. She liked winter, and little bit, but it really was far too cold to her. "It's too cold all the time." That was her reason for not liking winter.
Ellie smiled back. "That makes sense." It was a terrible reason, though, in her opinion. But Indy was just a bit too young to make her point with. Maybe, in time, the little girl will see that the temperature doesn't make the season? Maybe.
"Very," she nodded. She was excited to see Aidan, mostly. Also, she was nervous to see Aidan. His birthday came by surprise to her. Or, not the birthday itself, but his AGE. Like...since when did he get to be so old? When did SHE get to be so old?
"I hope so, Little Hutchinson." And that was all she had to say about that. She didn't want to jinx it too much.

But Jory had never voiced his worries to anyone not even his parents.
Jory listened to Gwen with interest. "Did you ever find out what he potion really was?'' he asked. "Did you ever find anything else interesting?"
Although she tried keeping a straight face, Gwendolyn couldn’t help laughing when hearing Jory’s story about the time he almost drowned ina pool. ‘I absolutely hate it when people tell stuff about me that I don’t recall happening’
‘Thank you. I guess’, she laughed. Well, at least she’d always have a back-up plan with the art thing. Not bad, the Ravenclaw told herself.
’Whoaa! I’d love to start exploring the pyramids and the tombs’ If the people there would allow it. ‘Just imagine how great it would be to be able to understand what has been written on those walls!!’ Though probably seeing an actual mummy would make her feel worse than having to listen to people’s love problems. Or maybe not that bad…
’Muggle books… Never. I wish I did, though’, the Ravenclaw smirked. ‘I only read some newspaper articles and some stuff about healing’But that doesn’t count. She really needed to find some interesting muggle book to read- but where could she find one? Hmm.
‘Oh, that’s nice! I would have loved having a sister. Or a brother… but preferably a sister’, she replied and then listened to him say the thing about her not being a witch… probably. ‘I see’, Gwendolyn nodded and narrowed her eyes. Considering Jory’s facial expression, the third year decided to just drop this.
‘Well, the potion didn’t seem to be something interesting’ It did nothing anyway. That means it could have been an epic fail of her dad trying to brew something correctly. ‘Yes, actually… I once started exploring the attic. At a first glance, I thought I wasn’t going to find anything. It was simply a place with too many boxes and random objects thrown in them. I remember finding some old newspapers’ Which she eventually showed to Ari. Yup, probably no one but her bestie would have cared to find out all about the ministry of magic a lot of years ago. Anyway, Gwen didn’t care.
‘And I also came across photo albums of my parents’ and lots of people she didn’t recognize. ‘Hmm… what else was there… books? Phials with potions… Omnioculars… Quidditch equipment’ Yup. Their attic was quite full of Quidditch equipment because both her parents used to be on the team while at Hogwarts. And she didn’t even have the guts to try out… ‘Oh, and something really odd-- Err… never mind’, she said and gestured with her hand. 'Hey- did you ever get to find something interesting...a muggle made object?'
