Ducks, fifteen in all and quite possibly already named, live in this pond. Go on, take a seat on the rocky ledge and dip your feet into the water! Rest assured, these ducks will not bite, but if you just so happen to have any type of bread or cookies on you at the time, the ducks have been known to take without asking.
Waylon keeps a good eye on the pond and the ducks, so no funny business.
SHE HAD IT!!! Thank Merlin the goose chase was over and she got Ravenclaw a flag she had to defend now.. which hopfully would be easier she huffed and puffed and panted as if she had never took a proper breath!
LuLu looked around for the Ravenclaw prefect hopfully he'd tell her some news.. Hopfully all good

"Come on, come on!" Eino urged the Ravenclaw girl. He waited until she caught up with him with the flag for him to be able to guard her. "Go on and I will protect you from any incoming attacks." He reassured her confidently. He folded up his sleeves and prepared to charm on! With his hand tightly gripped between his fingers, Eino continued to follow the girl while keeping a close eye on the trail behind them.

Smiling at her explaining how Harper now slept with one of her plushy's from her own room, and that she was keeping the rabbit safe. "Thet's adorable it really is!" Why hadn't his parents had another??? He would have loved to have such a small person to watch grow up and protect as she did! Maybe he wouldn't have had as much freedom and ability to travel as much, but he still would have loved to have a younger sibling. He didn't even have a pet because of the travel, an owl was all he was allowed.
Looking out over the lake he pondered the inability for the boy to understand a letter, nor time for his parents to read one. "What about sending moving pictures? Mebbe adding a voice charm te it?" he asked turning back towards her. It was possible, his aunt had done it once sending him a singing telegram. Embarrassing it was for him but if that was possible what would it hurt for Amelia to send one to Harper!
He nearly dropped her hand when she hissed in pain, "Mebbe it's a sprain instead." he whispered, trying to keep the pain from his voice. He'd tried so hard not to hurt her. "Summoning...or a freeze charm." he muttered lying her hand down again before looking around them. So much water and nothing to hold it in... Taking out his wand he traced a round circle on the ground and formed the shape of a small bowl before picking it up and filling it with water from the duck pond. "Well we'll make ice out here instead then." he said winking at her as he looked up.
"Hmm. I hadn't thought about adding a voice charm before. I don't even know the incantation for one actually... But it could be good. Maybe I could record myself reading his favourite bedtime story and send that..." Amelia pondered, as she also marveled at the genius that was her boyfriend. Because if she could send something like that she was sure Harper would enjoy it.
"Maybe... It probably doesn't help that I fell on it yesterday either," Amelia admitted as she took a good look at her hand. She'd have to bandage it later or go to the hospital wing. But having to go there was kind of embarrassing. At least in her opinion.
"Thanks," she said, giving Isaac a sweet smile before leaning further towards him and kissing his cheek. He was being really sweet, and she was being a bit of a hassle. But it could be worse she supposed. And at least it wasn't broken. Probably.
"Do you ever miss home?" she asked, casually. She really wanted to get to know him better, and as they were sitting here doing nothing really it was probably the perfect time to do so.

She half sighed half smiled and took more deep breaths she was getting back into the whole breathing consept, she felt good other than the fact that she was so thirsty that she was considering to drink from the duck pond.. she felt good "Thankss," she panted
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."
Adam couldn't possibly stay cramped up inside the castle when the weather was so perfect outside. Plus ever since hearing about the new Duck pond that Adam didn't remember ever seeing last year, he figured he should come and check it out. After all Adam loved just about every animal he had encountered so far, so who was to say he wouldn't like these ducks?
He approached the small ducks, squatting down so that he could be more level with them while he watched them float around the miniature pond. Supposedly somewhere around here all the Founders party activities were taking place, but Adam wasn't usually very successful with those kinds of things...

Eino nodded in response to preserve all of his strength. The grounds never seemed to large until you had to run across it. Eino was panting, and sweating. He used his sleeve to wipe his forehead but never stopped running. He could at least pause for a few seconds to take a quick look behind them and check if they were being followed. So far, nothing. Were the Gryffindors really just going to give up their flag? No one was in sight, so Eino turned back around and continued to follow Lulu to the courtyard. Maybe if they could go through the pond they would get there faster, but that wouldn't be very convenient for anyone, especially not the ducks.

LuLu looked at the gryffindor direction.. they'd be back there was no bet on that... she sighed again at the thought of loosing the flag all that for nothing it wasn't getting of that easy.. She stopped pwnting and jogged a bit more to the court yard!

Grinning at her reaction "I can help ye if ye'd like. I don' rightly know the incantation either but I'm sure the Charm's professor could help if we need it." His aunt might tell him, but they needed it perfect too...so having the professor there to help with the correct way of doing it, it'd be even better. "Thet'd be awesome, I bet he'd love thet!"
"Oh, ouch!" he said in reply to her falling on it too. "How'd ye do thet?" he asked as he used his wand to use the freezing charm on the water in the bowl. Turning the bowl upside down the ice fell out. "Erm...this is gonna be really cold." But what could they use to put around the ice?
Looking up at her question he nodded "I do. Don' haf any siblings, but I miss me mum a lot. Each time I make a mistake in class...or even doing homework, I want te send her a note fer help. 'Tis hard not hafing her here." he said wrinkling his forehead a little lost in thought. "Don' know if I miss home though...te many homes te remember. Me favorite though was Arizona, in the Grand Canyon."
So far Lulu was doing great! She was an extremely fast runner, and Eino could barely keep up with her. He glanced over his shoulder one last time, and when he turned back around he realized that they were only a few moments from the courtyard. There were a few mud puddles in the way, and Eino accidentally stepped on them splashing mud everywhere. These shoes were no good for tomorrow's classes. Panting and sweating, Eino sprinted towards the Ravenclaw territory, where he hoped he would find the Ravenclaw flag. Hopefully the other students had been protecting it.

"I'd like that, and if it's too hard then asking the Charms professor would probably be a good idea," Amelia agreed, as she thought about just what she would record for him. And if she'd have time to actually do it.
"You know that lilypad thingie? Well I fell over after finishing that and landed on my wrist. I'm just glad I didn't fall into the water, although I came close a few times," Amelia replied as she looked at the ice and then at the lack of things it could be wrapped in. This was so not good. Mainly because Amelia really hated cold things. "Maybe we could wrap it in my scarf?" Amelia suggested as she unwound her lightweight scarf from around her neck.
The ice would likely soak through it pretty quickly but it would at least keep the ice from freezing her hand straight away. Which was a plus.
"That's sweet. I don't miss my parents much at all. I haven't had too much to do with them since I was three so I suppose it's easy not to miss them. That's a little sad, that you don't miss home because you haven't really stayed in one place all that long... But I suppose it's good that you've been so many places. It must have been magical. Tell me more about Arizona?" she asked, genuinely curious about his time there.

"Mebbe the charms professor would be the better way." he said chuckling "Don' know if I'd want te risk blowing up yer picture while trying te charm it." Isaac looked forward to it either way! Because if he learned how to do that, he could send pictures to his family and even to Amelia when they were apart!
His jaw dropped as she explained her first injury. "Ouch!" That was one thing his dad had taught never put your hand down to brace your fall, and he still never was able to remember that when he was falling. It was why he'd broke the same arm 3 times! "I know what ye mean about nearly falling in the water and landing on the beach wrong. I was soaked when I slid off jus' barely staying on the lilypad, and got a mouthful of sand upon bouncing off the last lilypad onte the beach."
Taking the scarf he wrapped it around the ice completely until it had quite a number of layers between the ice and her hand. He wondered if the water repelling spell would keep it from soaking through the scarf...
Giving a lopsided smile as she said it was sweet "I can't imagine not missing me parents, but I can see why, if they're more inte yer brother then ye." he said softly as he gently picked up her hand again lightly touching it with the scarf covered ice. The smile grew as she asked about Arizona "Well, it is super hot there, most of the time, but at the bottom of the canyon where we lived was quite a bit cooler. I loved climbing the rocks and exploring the caves. It was a bit difficult at times, but whenever I reached the top, it was totally worth the climb."

"Probably... Although she kinda scared me," Amelia admitted quietly. She was however as sure as Isaac was that she didn't want to go blowing up her picture, or doing something wrong which could cause her, Isaac, or someone else harm. Because that would be just horrible.
"Yuck. I fell backwards at least so didn't get any sand in my mouth. I can imagine that it wasn't pleasant," hopefully he'd washed his mouth out real good. Because otherwise it was just nasty. And who knew what kinda bacteria that sand may contain. He could get sick, and Amelia didn't want that. She liked him nice and healthy. Although if it wasn't a serious sickness she could play nursemaid. Hmm...
"It's not even that... I have quite a few pictures from when I was little that showed how interested in me they were at that point... But. You know how I told you I lived in France until I was about three? Well we moved because there was a fire... I had an older sister, but she uhh... well, yea, there was a fire in my room and we were kinda trapped... It's why I'm claustrophobic, actually. But after that my parents were just kinda more distant and reserved. Still there but leaving me alone more often then that. They're like that with Harper too. There's just more joy now and less sadness. He lights up our whole family, because he's so young, and untroubled," Amelia replied, voice sounding detached, as she leaned into Isaac, and allowed him to place the ice on her hand. It wasn't as cold as she'd been expecting.
"Wait, you lived in the Grand Canyon, or a canyon? And how long did you live there?" Amelia asked as she tilted her head to look up at him. If she could know all about him she would. Of course that would likely never happen but she'd continue to be interested in knowing as much as she could.

Nodding, he could totally understand that! They'd only been at Hogwarts a little over a month, and the woman did seem kind of terrifying. "Well, if we go tegether, and jus' be there fer help...mebbe she'll be kind enough te help us out." Ok, maybe not kind but at least helpful?
Making a face he shook his head "Nope, it was pretty nasty. At least I didn' get hurt though." he said looking down at her hand twisting his lips into a grimace.
His eyes searched her face as she spoke, he had no idea! "Merlin..." he whispered. His arm went around her again that wasn't holding her hand with the ice on it, holding her close as she leaned into him. "I had no idea. I'm so sorry!" Merlin, he couldn't imagine that kind of pain in a family. And for it all to be on Amelia's shoulders? No wonder she was claustrophobic! "At least there's Harper there, te help the healing now." he said softly though he knew it wasn't much but at least it was something.
Looking down at her as she asked if he'd lived in the Grand Canyon. "Yep I sure did." Wrinkling his forehead he thought a bit, "Hmm, jus' short of a year and a half. We moved there in early April and left in October the following year."

"Hopefully she'd be helpful. I mean we would be showing an interest in her subject so that should make her nicer, right?" Amelia said questioningly. Because most teachers were nicer when you were genuinely interested in their subjects. Although some weren't...
"Well no... But you could have gotten sick. Which would be much worse. And it's okay. I really don't remember it or her much. Only the pictures really confirm it you know. But it is good to have him around. He does make things better. It's amazing how much actually. I think babies tend to do that anyway. They just represent life to me," Amelia replied with a shrug, before settling fully into his arms now that he was holding her.
"That is so awesome. So you used to climb it, but wasn't that scary? I mean, what if you fell?" Amelia asked with some concern. Because depending on how high the drop was he could have died. And that would not have been cool. Not at all.

'Ahh!' Thea gasped as her jeans were grabbed and pulled so she had to crouch down. Frowning, she patted her hair. Pff. Thea turned her face towards him, only to see Daichi blush. Really. She raised her eyebrows slowly. 'Yes! I did!' Thea found herself sounding slightly affronted. 'I never normally wear all black..' Thea cocked her head to the side. 'I can go and change into something more colourful if you like!' Thea sat down, on her bum.
Thea snorted at Daichi's eye roll. Ha! 'Well I don't know!' Thea laughed again at the crouching down in bushes comment, too. 'I thought you liked watching ducks? You know.. duck watching?' She turned away, trying not to laugh.
Thea put a hand on his arm. 'Shut up!' Shoving him slightly, Thea rolled her eyes. 'They're gone!' Thea did however, grab onto him so he didn't fall. she wasn't that nasty. 'Now what?! Oh my god, I can't believe this!!' The Gryffindor flapped her hands around a bit. This was going to take ages!!!!!!!!
Daichi blinked as Thea crouched down beside him and commented on the clothes. Should she go change? "What? no! that will take ages.." and without stopping himself he added. "I-i think it looks good on you" awkwaaard.
Trying to hide his blush by looking back at the pond, Daichi saw that one of the ducks was getting out of the water. "I want that one!" he said while pointing at the white duck now waddling on the grass. But before he could go he felt himself slipping away and thankfully Thea had grabbed him so he wouldn't fall.
"Woah, thanks" he said , still watching the cute little ducky walking around cluelessly. Yes, that was his pet~! "WHAT?" he suddenly shouted as he turned his eyes away from the duck to look at Thea with a frown. Okay, so it wasn't a lie that he liked watching ducks. They were so adorable! and Squishy right there was cute. Should he thank Thea for the name? cause she was the one who said the duck would get *squished* if they fall down with the duck in the arms...
Now wasn't the time though and even though Daichi was for now pretty calm. It seemed like Thea wasn't. "Honestly! you have never gone fishing have you?" he didn't know what fishing had to do with this but he did know that it required alot of patience. Oh right... Gryffindors wanted to go right in to action. He rolled his eyes a second time.
As the duck came closer , Daichi signaled Thea to go to the left like in those muggle action movies. He himself stood up but hunched over while walking tiptoe towards the duck. "NOW!" he shouted.

What part of he was not trying to hurt the ducks did the girl not get? Clearly she just wanted to torment him, because that's what girls did. They tormented boys for fun. Clearly they were evil little things. He started backing away from the little girl again but then she pushed him, though it wasn't much of a push. Why couldn't she just get it..and leave him be to catch the ducks? That's all he wanted really. "I'm not going to hurt them! I just want to catch them, jeez!."
O_o..
He was cute when angry? What in Merlin's beard was this one going on about? He was not cute! His rat Meeko was cute..not him. He scowled at her."I'm not cute.." He said dryly. He started walking away from her towards the boy on the shore. Yeah he had enough of this crazy girl. She better not follow him. Then a miracle happened..she left him to go talk to somebody else..another girl. Hehe.
After leaving the crazy girl, Tye walked back to the shore where the boy was standing and rolled down his pants again. No need to expose his legs if he wasn't in the water. Right what was he saying now? He looked at the cookie the boy took from his pocket and reached for it. Best he kept it, while country boy did the magic stuff.
"Yeah I think that will work."
Probably? He blinked at the boy then shook his head." Well since none of us know how to let's just make it ourselves." If there was one thing he knew how to do, it was summoning. Rhea had bought him a muggle toy toolbox that he had seen while watching T.V. Muggle men used that to build stuff all the time." Since you're pretty much muggle you'll know how to use my tool box to make the trap." He pulled out his wand and accio'ed his tool box. A lovely middle size container with plastic tools. Tyler was extremely proud of this box. "See." He said looking fondly at the box.
Tyler frowned at the boy." Good thing there are no giant ducks then mate. What's your name?" He asked looking up at him?
Thomas let the kid take the cookie without objection. It had probably gone stale anyway and wasn't fit for human consumption.
The kid thought his plan would work? He smiled and nodded. “I've seen it done b'fore. Should do the job.”
A bit of handy muggle work? Yeah, Tom guessed he could do that. He watched the small boy summon a tool box, refraining from frowning when it became clear this child probably knew more magic than he did.. but he could indeed make things. Woodwork, art.. maybe even a little cookery – Tom was good at making things with his hands. “Fine.” he replied. “Buh.. it has to weigh a fair bit. Ovvahwise the duck'll escape.” Did this little lad know how to make things heavier with magic?
He stood the tool box from the boy , sat on the grass, and opened it, selecting a few tools. “Wood?” He looked up at the boy and cocked a brow.
He had to chuckled a little at the boy's words about giant ducks. “I'm Tom. Tom Broadmoor. Wot's your name, kid?”
His lips creased to the side and his shoulder lifted to a small shrug "Its not that she's the only one that should use it, but so far she's the only one who wouldn't want to use my nickname" The old woman was suborn like that. Looking puzzled Laci asked "A NICKname?" Like, nick's name but for other people. Is everyone called nick? "A stage name, what everyone knows you as, except the people behind the scenes, for me those are the people that raised me." Sighing, Laci recollected her stage name "I'm not known as Laci Aurelia Neil, right now I'm known as 'the fire-headed creature trainer' But one day... I'll have a star performance and a REAL stage name." ANDDDD back to the ducks. up Up UP! around the sixth or seventh duck up they started to wobble.. As the Eighth duck climbed up they tumbled and Laci looked horrified, she rushed to every ducks side with peanuts and searching for any injuries. The seventh duck had a twisted leg, laci wrapped him in her arm and sat cross legged on the grass. Laci tookout her wand and the leg went back to normal, she hugged the duck, it let out a QUACK and she gave him peanuts as he joined his friends... All better :]

Picking at the grass, Thea pouted. Raising an eyebrow, she looked up as she heard Daichi's comment. Awks. 'Thanks..' She looked at Daichi and grinned, but he had turned away. To blush. Thea burst out laughing.
Rolling her eyes, Thea nodded. 'Okay.. calm down or you'll scare it! Again..' She added quietly under her breath. Thea too, watched the white duck waddling about. It was kind of cute. But she still wasn't touching it. The Gryffindor grinned as he thanked her. Fool. 'Wha-?!' Thea jumped as he shouted. Jeees, all she'd said was that he was a total duck watcher...
'What's this got to do with fishing?!' She huffed. What a stupid silly thing to say! 'Why are you rolling your eyes?!' Thea demanded, scowling at him. Now it was Thea's turn to roll her eyes. Despite herself, she followed Daichi's signals and moved to the left. While biting her lip, Thea watched Daichi who had the utmost look of concentration on his face.
WOA. What?! Following Daichi's lead, Thea aimed for the duck. Let's hope Squishy didn't end up.. well.. squished..

Not at all.
Nodding he shrugged "I would think so." Why wouldn't she? If she wanted students to have interest in her subject then she'd be willing to help right?
Making a face he nodded again "True." Listening as she said she didn't remember much he squinched his mouth to one side. "I guess in some ways thet would be good. I mean, if ye don't remember much it's probably fer the best." Though it would explain her fear of enclosed spaces and really not liking fire all that much. "How are ye doing on the Herbology homework?" knowing what the assignment was, and having to use fire or even get burned if she wasn't careful, maybe she'd like some help with it.
A smile at her words about her brother making things better. Another reason he really wished he'd had a sibling! "It was at first, but I had te get over me fear or I'd never haf seen the awesome view, nor learned so much about the canyon and the desert around it." True, the falling wasn't the best thing to have happen at those heights. "Well there were cliffs and stuff, but ye mostly stuck te trails, but those hurt te if ye slid down accidentally. Ye jus' need te learn te use foot and hand holds and finding good ones as well."

Adam had been talking to Nessie but when he noticed some students about in the duck pond he got suspicious. He narrowed his eyes as he got a better look. No Way! Where they getting away with that, stealing a duck. Whoever in their right mind found this joke was funny, but that was school property an they were doing something completely abnormal, holding a duck hostage!
"HEY!" He shouted getting closer to the culprits. HEY! Where are you going with that duck!? The nerve of some people.
Jez screamed as someone jumped out at them, her wand pointing at him/her/it. "Immobulus!" The words had come out of her mouth before she realised it was Nate. She waded into the pond and grabbed his arm, dragging him onto the bank. "Mr Stone, would you kindly explain why you thought it fitting to spy on your friends and then leap out yelling 'Musketeers'?" she asked severely, tapping her foot impatiently. "Hmm?" We're waiting.

At least Jordan had been considerate enough to dry Nate off, but he was still frozen, unable to cast any sort of counter. It was explanation time. "Well..." he sighed, "...I saw you sneak off. That's never good, but I figured you'd start running, crying, maybe yelling, and possibly firing spells if you saw me follow you. So I pulled a Jordan and hid. Naturally, I knew the answer to the riddle and had to answer it, it's my nature. And here I am, frozen, a little wet, and, frankly, scared." You never knew what Jez would do, but Nate knew what she could do.
"Otherwise, Mr. Macey, I'm perfectly fine, thanks," he said, not quite as brightly as he usually would have. He knew what Jordan was talking about. He actually still had the pictures in his pocket. One of them, a picture of Nate's parents tied back to back to one of the columns in what used to be their basement, was floating on the top of the pond, threatening to be nibbled on by an unknowing duck. Nate noticed this out of the corner of his eye, and had to speak up. "Don't eat that, Fluffy the Duck. It'll give you horrible dreams."
Nodding he shrugged "I would think so." Why wouldn't she? If she wanted students to have interest in her subject then she'd be willing to help right?

"I think so. For what good can come from remembering such tragedy?" Amelia questioned, not really noticing how Isaac had pulled a face. She was grateful that she remembered little of her childhood, although the scars on her torso would be a constant reminder. Still not remembering made it hurt less. "And for Herbology, well I've already finished it. My plan was to get it done as soon as I could. I just hope that we don't have to go in to see the plants again anytime soon," she revealed. Maybe she should have waited until they were both free and seen if Isaac had wanted to go with her. But he hadn't been there when she'd read the homework so...
"Well it's good that you stuck to the trails. Although I've heard of people doing that and still getting hurt, or dying due to the heat and a lack of water. Although I did hear as well that there's a glass platform that you can go to at the top and look down on the canyon," which would be more Amelia's style. She wasn't much into rock climbing. Not because she couldn't do it, but because she was so short it made reaching some of the handholds and footholds a bit too difficult.

Nodding he agreed "Sometimes remembering helps put away fears ye haf now." he said softly. Erm, maybe he shouldn't have said that, because he had no problems with any fears she had, but maybe that was because he didn't have the fears she had. He was willing to help without even being asked though with her fears, but maybe she'd want to face the fears rather then remember? "I don' mean ye should, but sometimes it helps..." he added with a shrug, not committing with what he believed because truthfully he didn't even know!
"I'm still working on mine..." he said wrinkling his nose. "Wish it was though, I'm starting te wonder if I got a bad seed, because it's not shown itself even yet." A smile flickered when she said she hoped they wouldn't have to check on theirs anytime soon. "Well if we do, I can go with. And I can keep an eye on yers as well when I'm there." He wondered if she had read her brothers favorite story to her plant!
Shrugging with a nod "I jus' learned te be more careful, with other caves and canyons I'd trekked with me dad, I learned the best ways through and around and even up or down them. But ye can' jus' go through them without caution, because if ye do, thet's when ye get hurt." Like when he broke his arm the first time. A smile flickered again as he cuddled her closer checking on her hand and the ice at the same time "The heat is solved when ye only climb during the early morning and evening hours and always with the sun, so yer in the shade. And well, water's easy with a wand." he added with a chuckle. "I haven't been te the glass walkway, but I've heard of it!"
