A stone square courtyard is the first aspect of the grounds that you come to after you travel through the corridor. Surrounded by magnificent stone columns adorned with luscious ivy and slight lily growth, the courtyard provides students with benches to sit on with their friends or for the one who just wishes for some peace and quiet. Also, in the middle stands a very illustrious Wishing Fountain.

"I think the Sorting Hat knows best. I'm probably too weird for Slytherin," she answered honestly, matter-of-fact.
Aspen picked up a loose bit of paper from Taryn's letter writing stash and began to make folds. "Define cool."
Taryn laughed at Aspen's answer and then shrugged at her. That was probably true, really. Aspen definitely belonged in Ravenclaw. That didn't help her common room situation, though. Sigh.
"Cool." Hmm. Taryn leaned her head back, "Someone like us." Yeah, duh, Aspen. They were TOTALLY cool.

Aspen laughed, too, but she was laughing at the thought of others at Hogwarts like them. She'd not met anyone like them.
Her paper folding was starting to take shape and Aspen almost had a bird created. All she needed was a good sticking charm. "Can you?" Sticking charm? Hmmm?
"Maybe not like us - but compatible to us." Aspen tried to think of Hufflepuffs she knew. "Maybe a boy, too, so that it's even."

She wiggled her eyebrows at her best friend. "Now I see why Tori was so interested in setting me up. It's kind of a fun idea." She could return the favor by setting ASPEN up with a HUFFLEPUFF BOY.

That was what you call 'Ravenclaws are smarter than you.'
Erin smiled before answering, Jonathan Kim was after all smiling towards her, "Yes I am. And last term, it was closed to students. So, I never gotten the chance to see it."
To make a wish about you. Hehe. But that would be out of line. Grades? Ravenclaws didn't need those, Mister. "I'm here for...for...for my sister." It just came to her. Why would she wish for Kristina whom she had an argue with last summer, whom she swore to Merlin, she would never talk to again? Yes, she wished, she would be shipped outside this country and never come back again. "We're actually not in good terms," she said instead.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow. She's done her research well but then again Jonathan was not that much convinced yet. "How about Tiffany?" he smiled at her. "I'd like to know more about her. I guess you would know something since she's part of the Asian clan right?" honestly, Jonathan doesn't know much about Tiffany other than her name that is. KINDA. She did open some of her personal infos too when they were acquainting with each other. They met in the train right? Probably.
Yeah, Jonathan was always at the grounds outside last term because of the house elves incident and the kitchen incident. Jonathan loves to eat and is very OCD.
Jonathan turned to her again, really? She's wishing for her and her sister to be in good terms? "I think that's not much to wish something for" Jonathan told her. They're sisters right? Eventually, they'll both forgive each other and why would someone toss a coin and wish for that. It'll happen if she makes it happen.
Wait! Jonathan just had a thought and grinned "Why not wish for something to happen this year." Jonathan loved to tease, so maybe he should. "Or better yet, just tell me. I think I'm a good wingman" he gave a small laugh. "Do you like someone around school? Daichi perhaps?" Daichi is in the third grade and she seems to know things about him too. Although, they're still young but seriously it would be fun if she does admit she likes him.
She wasn't a huge fan of Hogwarts as of now. Valentina knew it would grow on her, she wasn't one to be exactly excited about change. In all honesty, she didn't deal well with change at all. She was home sick slightly but wouldn't whine over it, being a whiner made you look like a baby and that's not what Val wanted to look like, oh no. She wanted to make a good impression not seem whiny and complainy.
She had friends to make and people to meet. She was determined to make this happen. She needed friends, that had been her whole point of coming to the school, yes?
Val heard the courtyard was a fairly popular place for people so of course that had been her first choice! She walked in her little black flats, brown hair swinging off her shoulders as she did so. It seemed empty out right now, her eyes were darting to see if anyone interesting seemed to be about and it seemed now. Val was disappointed. No one, none at all. The brunette pulled a face, looking around before letting out a sigh and sitting on the bench. Her legs were crossed in a perfectly lady-like fashion.
It was nice outside and she had walked too far to just leave so she was just going to stay out here until she got unbearably bored. YUP. That was Valentina Alessandra Rosetta Kelly's plan!

After spending time inside, catching up on school work and eating, Hunter decided he needed nature time. Nature meaning girl, of course. He hadn't met very many girls for some odd reason and he was going to make it a point to do the exact opposite from now on. He was in the bathroom for about fifteen minutes, making sure his outfit was just right and that his hair hadn't gone out of place, and now it was time to venture out into the world...or the courtyard.
Once there, though, he realized there wasn't anyone around. How was that even possible? Was everyone out at the lake or in the library or something? Making his way through so that he could go search other parts of Hogwarts, he saw a girl sitting alone on a bench off to the side. Now that was unacceptable. Fixing his hair one last time, he stood up straight, fixed his glasses, and walked towards the girl. The closer he got, the prettier he realized she was. 'Boy, am I lucky.'"Now what's a gorgeous thing like you doing out here alone?" Always start with a compliment.

Taryn tugged her wand out and tapped it on the paper bird. "That's pretty cool. Can you teach me how to do that?" Well, not a bird, though, Taryn wanted to make a paper FLOWER. Taryn put her legs down, crossing them. "A BOY, huh?" Hehe. Aspen wanted a boy?
She wiggled her eyebrows at her best friend. "Now I see why Tori was so interested in setting me up. It's kind of a fun idea." She could return the favor by setting ASPEN up with a HUFFLEPUFF BOY.
Hehe.
"A BOY." She whisper!giggled.
"Sure. It's really easy." Aspen leaned over and stole another sheet of parchment, this one for Taryn.
Here. Take it.
When Taryn got the bird fastened securely, Aspen raised it up on her palm with intentions of making it set flight. These intentions, however, were robbed by... Taryn and HER intentions.
She sent her a dubious look. "That's ...." not even close to what Aspen had been thinking. "...what...?"

She had drifted off, staring off into the distance. She was distracted by...something, something she wasn't really too sure of but she was defiantly distracted. It didn't last long though because she heard a voice, the voice made her snap out of her trance. Her eyes blinked a bit over dramatically before eying the person who had spoken, not even really focusing on the words they had just said and...oh...oh...OH.It was a good looking boy! Her mouth was open slightly, brows raised still. She had been trying to remember what he had said previously, trying to make the words process."Sorry, I zoned out...."The Italian spoke with her hands, light smile plastered on her face.
In those few seconds she had realized exactly what he had said.
Her response? Laughter. The girl laughed, not a big ugly hideous laugh only a slight chuckle. She didn't want to seem overbearing or anything of that sort. Was it funny because she thought he was joking? NOPE. That'd be silly if she was! She was laughing due to the fact he had been so blunt about it, something she actually quite liked. She after all, had been pretty blunt herself. "Waiting for a good looking boy to show up so I can talk to him..."She said in a "matter of fact" tone, little smirk on her face. A gleam was in her eyes, a prideful one.
She looked him over for a second, "Now, what's a guy like you doing out here alone, hmm?"She paused for a moment before chewing on her lip, trying to hold back the chuckles."Trying to look for pretty girls that are sitting by themselves?"OOH. BURN. She knew it. Valentina knew it, she knew she was right! Heh! YAY SUCESS!

O___________O
Taryn was all excited to see the paper bird fly.... when nothing happened.
And Aspen was giving her looks.
"What?" She asked, blinking at her friend. Oh. That... boy thing. Right. "Nah, don't worry, silly. I'm not going to force you on a date with anyone. Trust me, blind dates are pretty awkward."
Ryan wandered down to the Courtyard with his guitar and a note book.He sat down on an empty seat and started to play a song his Father had taught him when he was Seven. After a While he stopped and looked up at the clear sky,His mother was up there looking down on him.He pulled out his notebook and started playing a tune and tried thinking of Lyrics.
Cornelius quieted his small rant of confusion as Eino spoke, beginning to explain that if Sierra accepted Cornelius's offer of a date, then it would be because she was not interested in Eino, and then he would know for sure. The new student opened his mouth to retort, even raising up a slightly pointed finger as though this was going to help emphasize the point he was about to make, but then he realized...he didn't have a point. The plan made...unfortunate sense, in its own way. Cornelius lowered his pointed finger and closed his mouth as his brows furrowed, letting Eino's explanation sink in.
Before he could really reply, Eino was asking why he wouldn't want to go out with this girl, if she said yes, even adding that she was delightful. Cornelius's expression cracked into a bit of a grin, unable to not just be a bit amused by Eino. "Because, Eino, she's delightful to you, she means something to you," he explained with a shake of his head and a soft chuckle. "I wouldn't even consider actually dating a girl you find 'delightful'," he continued, his expression entirely honest as he flashed him a weak smile. "Friends don't do that." He knew they met each other recently, but Cornelius thought of the two of them as friends, and suddenly hoped that Eino didn't think it was strange for him to already consider them as such.
He let out a bit of a sigh, his mind obviously still running over this whole ask-out-the-girl thing. It wasn't that bad of an idea... And he honestly thought that she would definitely decline a random student asking her out. But what if, on some crazy one-in-a-million chance, she said yes? He would hate if Eino didn't get the girl because of him! That was the opposite of his intentions! He wanted Eino to get the girl with his help! But...if she said no, as he was pretty positive she would, it would undoubtedly renew Eino's confidence in the potential relationship between himself and this she-snake...
"If you really want this, then I will, as your friend, ask her out just to see her response," Cornelius decided after a few moments of thought. "But are you completely positive you want me to?"
The whole 'because we are friends' thing flew right over Eino, like all other things that were unrelated to pogrebins, dragons, and Sierra, but mostly pogrebins. Those things he over-analyzed, but everything else he just took with a nod and a very blank stare. "I suppose so." He said, still thinking that everyone should find Sierra delightful, because she was very delightful. This whole concept of friends and friend codes things didn't really affect Eino, but Sir Toby, on the other hand, was burning with jealousy. He did not approve of the past friends, current friends, and he did not approve this boy, Cornelius. He also didn't like Sierra. After spending the summer with her, Sir Toby had decided that Sierra was not delightful at all. Sir Toby would plot, yes. If he could get Sierra to go out with this boy, then he could kill to birds with a stone. Hopefully.
Eino remained quiet for a while, still trying to make some sense of it but he grew tired, so he decided he would think about it more tomorrow, if he could remember to. "Oh, splendid!" He exclaimed when Cornelius agreed to his plan. "She often lounges in the dungeons or in the dungeon corridors. Maybe you could ask her out after potions class." Yes, that seemed like a good idea to him. He smiled continuously through a series of nods, confirming that he was completely positive that he wanted Cornelius to ask her out.

Totally awkward.
Aspen pulled the bird into her lap and considered it gravely. Then she just unfolded the whole thing and handed it to Taryn.
Taryn could use that as a model to learn how to fold the birds.
"I don't think I'm allowed to date." She'd never ASKED, but... Aspen was only 14...
She'd never THOUGHT to ask, to be honest.
"Blind dates?" What???
Duck out of water! Ravenclaw out of her know-how! Danger!

Cornelius watched as Eino fell into a state of what appeared to quiet thought, waiting patiently for the student next to him to make this decision, which Corny was still a bit unsure about. But as Eino exclaimed 'splendid!' with the news that his fellow Ravenclaw would ask out this girl, Cornelius eased a bit more. Eino honestly seemed...enthusiastic about this plan. He listened as Eino suggested he ask her out after potions class, as she often lounged down in the dungeons, and his eyebrows rose.
"Okay..." he agreed with a bit of a sigh, obvious unease still filtering through his features. But, if this helped, then...that was a good thing. "Do you want to...watch when I ask her?" His brows furrowed, unsure about how to go about this. Did Eino want to be there, somewhere in the background, to see her reaction first hand? Or did he just want to hear the results from him at a later date? "Or I can just...tell you how it goes, later in the Common Room?"

Hmmm. Taryn was disappointed that the bird didn't fly... sad. Poor flightless bird. Maybe it was a penguin?
Then Aspen spoke again and Taryn gave a noise of agreement. "Hmmm.. I'm not sure I am either." Come to think of it, SHE'D never asked either. She'd just done it. Hmm.
"But I sort of am anyway." Dating. Auggie. Boyfriend. Grunt. Taryn nodded and handed over the piece of parchment, "Make a flower?"

He laughed when he realized the girl had been in her own world. Something he found in common in girls, both muggle and witch. Why did girls have so much to think about? Wasn't it as simple as "food, girls, food, bed, food, girls...etc"?After a few seconds she seemed to realize just how charming he was being, nothing new, and she caved automatically. Hunter shrugged and was just about to mention how she found her dream guy when she asked what exactly he was doing there.
The smile was wiped completely off of his face and his hands ended up in his pockets. "Well...uh....." Leave it to a beautiful girl to leave him speechless. "You know...I realize how intimidated you must be by me, I don't blame you at all. Only one person can look this great, and aren't you glad you got the chance of a lifetime to meet him?" Back on track, thank goodness! "You can take a picture, if you please. I'm used to it." Two could play at this game. Hunter hardly ever met a girl with a personality just like his and it was long overdue.
He sat down next to her and thought of one last thing to say, "Why aren't there more girls like you?" Now if only she were in the same house.

PUHLEEEASE?
"You are?" Aspen was SO observant most of the time. Or at least, she thought she was.
But then again, dating was sort of private, so maybe that's why she didn't know more about it?
Aspen took the parchment from Taryn, but still was looking pretty vacant. She looked AROUND herself, as if testing her observing skills. It was entirely startling that there WERE boys around; two of her House mates weren't all that far away.
They suddenly seemed threatening versus just being boys that she saw in the Common Room all the time.

Right. Flower. Okay. Aspen set to work on that, but... kept shooting looks around. Like blind dates might jump out of a bush or something.

Katie skipped her way to the courtyard, the best place to read a good book without anyone disturbing her.
AND THEN SHE SAW A FRIEND
Katie walked over to Harvey and waved smiling brightly, but she noticed that he was deep in thought, she sat down next to him, he didn't seem very happy, something must be up! And she was going to help him out the best she can! "Whats wrong Harvey?" Katie asked giving him a nudge to wake him up from his thoughts, she smiled sweetly hoping she would cheer him up.
