She smiled widely at him when he giggled. "Hey, no fair!" She laughed, looking up at the sky. She scooped up a handful of snow, sprinkling it onto him and laughing. The ground was cold but extremely comfy and she was tired from running. She spread her arms and legs, smiling. Snow angel time! She began to move them back and forth carefully.

Logan chuckled as she sprinkled snow on him. He laid next to her and sighed, panting. That was a lot of running. He turned his head to watch as she made a snow angel. He smiled at her. She was so beautiful, just lying there in the snow. He was so lucky to have her as his girlfriend.

Ella finished making her snow angel and turned to look at Logan. She returned his smile thinking she was pretty lucky to have a boyfriend like him. She leaned over carefully and kissed his cheek. "Help me up? I'll mess it up if I stand up on my own." She said smiling.

Logan smiled as she kissed his cheeks. Then he nodded. "Mmkay." he said, standing up and taking her hands in his and helping her up, then pulling her into a hug and giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Ella blushed as Logan hugged her and kissed her cheek. She would have thought she'd be used to it by now but she still had those butterflies in her belly when he came around and she still felt her face grow hot at his touch. She turned to face the snow angel, looking at it critically. "Well it looks great!" She said brightly. "I couldn't have done it without you. Snow angels only work when there are two people...if you don't have anybody to help you up you end up getting footprints all along the bottom." She smiled at him, betting he didn't know that she was such a snow angel expert.

"It does!" Logan agreed with a smile. He then nodded. "Yeah...I never really thought about it until now, it would not look good with a whole bunch of footprints. Unless it was a footprint snow angel..." he said laughing.

Paulie snorted and grinned simultaneously as she replied in French. "Oui, oui, oui. Mon dieu!" When she tightened her scarf, he realized how windy it was today. In Paulie's good opinion, the wind was worse than the cold. It sorta went through you and iced you up all over. He pulled his beanie down further over his ears and pocketed his hands. "My huge family is doin' fine, thanks," he answered, not missing a beat.

He nodded towards the bench by them to see if she wanted to sit. "So, what else is new? Any crazy stories to tell old Paulosaurus?" Surely she had to have a few good ones.

Ella laughed. "A footprint snow angel huh? Very funny." She shoved Logan playfully in the direction of her snow angel and looked down. "There, now this one is a footprint snow angel!"

Logan laughed as she shoved him playfully, making him almost fall. He then laughed again. "Yeah it is!" he said smiling.

Ella looked at Logan wide eyed when he almost fell. "I'm sorry!" she said, trying not to laugh. "I guess I don't know my own strength." She smiled at this, shrugging her shoulders.

Messer made his way to the courtyard after he picked up the sun dial and and a nocturnal from the Professor Roslund's office. Both devices was kinda heavy so he made sure that he didn't bump into someone and broke them. Today weather was really clear. He could see the sun shining, its the prefect timing to try out the sun dial and the nocturnal.

He decided to test the sun dial first then the nocturnal, so he put the nocturnal and off to find a flat surface in the courtyard. He remembered his daddy said that the flatter the surface on which your sundial is placed, the more accurate will be your sundial's time. When Messer found the perfect surface, he placed the sun dial. He looked at the sun and position his sundial where it will receive the most direct sunlight during that day.

Trying not to snort as she spotted the over sized beanie on Paulie's head, Thea plonked herself down on the bench. She nodded, looking down. 'That's good..' The Gryffindor let out a small laugh.

Thea pulled up her hood, and turned to raise an eyebrow at the older Gryffindor. 'Not really..' She wrinkled her nose slightly as she tried to think. 'Mam's just going mad at home really.. Seth's broken his collar bone and left wrist.' She paused. 'And possibly a couple of ribs?.. I can't remember what the letter said..' Nor did she care. Seth was an idiot. A danger to himself and others. Hogwarts would not know what hit them once he came. She sighed, and watched her breath swirl about infront of her before it disappeared. 'He's nine. The youngest.. 'Just incase Paulie had NOOO idea what she was talking about.
'Nothing new with you? How's the girlfriend?' Thea smiled and looked up at Paulosaurus.

Now that his sundial was in place, the next thing he has to do was ensure that the arrowhead of his gnomon was facing north. Messer know that he could use the Four Point Spell, but he never learned how to use that spell before. So he stick with the compass. He took out his compass from his backpack and use it to pinpoint the exact direction of north. Then after that, he made sure the gnomon, the subject that casts the shadow on his sundial, is adjusted to a latitude. So he'll get the most accurate time.

Once he was done with all of that, Messer did his best to read the sundial by looking at the shadow. "Hmm..judging by the shadow I think its already 2.10" he muttered to himself.

BOOF!

More snow... but this time in his hair! At least he could see where he was throwing his snowball in this fight. Alec shook his head, trying to get the remaining water out. There. He reached down and started packing some more snow as he spoke, "I'm in my first year as well!" Alec grinned. This was good! Now he's met someone in is own year who was in... "What house are you in?"

Snowball packed... and THROW!

And then they were interrupted by someone else. Alec looked up and smiled at the new girl. She seemed friendly enough. But... would she mind talking to him and Zack when they had snow all over them? Maybe she was a secret snowball champion as well and wanted to play?

... No, he couldn't attack a girl. That would be wrong!

"Nice to meet you Laura," he said, trying to shake the last of the snow off of his gloves, "I'm Alec, Alec Summers. And i'm a first year." He held out his, hopefully, snow-free gloved hands.

Zack was all up to find a perfect spot from where it could throw snow on Alec, but he was too stuffed with snow coming all over his face again.

He didn't look anywhere now and just ran his hand over his hair and face and wiped out all the snow from his face to see more clearly and took some snow in both his hands to make a big ball this time.

"Alec try this" he said and threw the ball at him not sure if that hit him on his face or body, he was then looking at someone else who spoke in between and then heard Alec ask something.

"Yeah, i'm in Gryffindor, how about ya?" he said and grabbed some more snow as he saw some more coming from Alec. He was holding the snow in his hands when he turned to see the girl.

She looked familiar to him. Where have I seen her he though and wiped some more snow from above his eyes to look at her. "Oh, hi. How're you?" he said and smiled and looked back at Alec and then at his hands, the snow had half melted he used the left over and threw it on Alec.

He laughed looking at him completely filled with snow.

He looked at Laura and wondered if she'll be interested in playing with them.

Logan laughed and shook his head. "Don't worry about it, I'm fine!" he said waving a hand and then smiling at what she said.

Ella shivered a little and walked over to Logan, hugging him. "It's getting cold! Should we head back to the castle soon?" Or we could just stay like this, that would be fine too...

2.10. Right. Messer's eyes still glued to the sundial. He hoped that he brings his watch with him so he could make sure whether he get the right result or not but then again wasn't Professor Roslund didn't allow them to use their watch. Oh well, right now he need to trust the sundial.

Messer looked at his sundial once more and the length of the shadow still the same. Hmm..Maybe he needed to get back inside and went back later tonight to test on the nocturnal.

Justin was on his way back into the catle and decided to try reading the Nocturnal again. This time he was sure he'd be better at figuring the time. So, he repeated his earlier steps and read the device. " Well, I'm thinking it says 9:25. " He looked at his watch, his head hung...He couldn't figure this one out and it was really starting to bother him.

Logan hugged her back, tightening his arms around her. He could stay like this all day! All month! All year!

"It is rather cold.." he said with a little nod. "Well if that's what you want, sure." he said smiling.

She looked up at him, a gleam in her eye. She had the perfect idea. "How do you feel about cookies?" She asked, smiling. "Want to go to the kitchens and see if we can get some?!" Ella was hungry. Well she was always hungry but she was in the mood for something ooey-gooey-chocolately good. She grabbed his hands and bounced on her heels. "Huh? Huh? Huh?"

"Cookies?" he asked with a big smile. HE LOVED COOKIES! Well he loved any sweet. He was a sweets freak. Heh heh. "Yeah, sure I'd love to!" he said, taking her by the hand and making his way through the snow towards the castle.

Ariana walked into the courtyard and sat down on a bench. sure it was cold but seh didnt care. Hogwarts was beautiful this time of year.

Cardigan strolled through the Courtyard,the snow gathering on the top of her head.It sure was cold outside!She was just about to sit down on a bench when she noticed who else was there,in the Courtyard,sitting on a bench:Ariana Logan.Why did that...demon...have to be here?She had a horrible temper and would most certainly scare the snow!Instead of interfering with her enemy,Cardigan looked in the other direction,trying to hide from her.But sadly,doing so unsuccessfully.

Ariana eyeball no one other than her best friend Cardigan as she walked through the cortyard. ariana really didnt wanna say anything but she couldnt help herself. "So NOW you wanna be quiet!?" she said to the first year.
