A stone square courtyard is the first aspect of the grounds that you come to after you travel through the corridor. Surrounded by magnificent stone columns adorned with luscious ivy and slight lily growth, the courtyard provides students with benches to sit on with their friends or for the one who just wishes for some peace and quiet. Also, in the middle stands a very illustrious Wishing Fountain.
"Better than sunlight?" Taryn asked, wrinkling her forehead with confusion. She sort of felt like she'd missed part of that thought. Oh well. She was pretty used to Aspen and her.. Aspen-ness.
"I was writing to Tori." Taryn offered with a shrug. "It's weird not having her here." Super weird, Taryn didn't KNOW a Hogwarts without Tori. But Taryn didn't mind the distraction of her other BFF. She leaned against the wall and pulled her knees up to wrap her arms around them, "What's up?"
Whuzzzup?
Ohhhh. Right. That's right. "I'm sorry," again, "I bet you really miss her in your dorm." Not to salt the wounds or anything. "Where is she this term, anyway?"
Aspen looked down at Taryn's shoewear. TORI always wore heels.
Oh up. Aspen slowly turned her attention UP. She knew the question was meant to ask her what was going on, what was she doing, how were things. But what WAS up?
Birds?
That made her think of Divination. That class was so hard...
"Nothing," Aspen answered again, but this time with a giant smile. Even she hadn't missed the GIANT pause in between Taryn's question and her answer. Aspen KNEW she thought about things a BIT too much. She couldn't help it. And thankfully, Taryn didn't seem to mind and usually had enough to say to fill in the weird gaps.
"I was thinking about the Inner Outer Clubhouse thing. You and August and me and ... a Hufflepuff."

"Yeah. That's the worst part. It's not the same in the Common Room." Hmm. "Want to convert to Slytherinism?" She asked hopefully, grinning at her friend.
Yes? Maybe?
Sigh.
Taryn had almost forgotten about that conversation in the treehouse about the Inter House Common Room.. or whatever they were calling it now. "Yeah, but do you know any COOL Hufflepuffs?" Taryn wasn't sure if she did.
Cornelius grinned yet again as Eino announced that he did, indeed, want to be with this girl, the only confirmation he needed to begin to try to help. Sitting up and preparing to explain, he opened his mouth to speak only to find that Eino was starting this conversation himself...with the most ridiculous request he had ever heard in his life. Suggesting that he himself (Cornelius!, in case you forgot!) should ask this girl out. "WHAT?!" he blurted out the second he had registered that Eino's suggestion was serious. "You're kidding..." he hoped aloud, brows furrowing slightly as Eino said it would be 'wonderful and helpful'.
He listened as Eino then explained that if Sierra accepted, and they ended up dating, it would just provide more inspiration for Eino to domesticate dragons to 'sic on him'. Cornelius burst into a string of chuckles, obviously taking this as a joke, and finding it amusing. Eino could not be serious about any part of this situation! How would this help at all? He still hadn't received any explanation about that. But as Eino didn't start laughing along with him, and kept his face of honest truth, Cornelius's chuckles quieted quickly and his eyes widened. Dragons?!
"Whoa, whoa," he said upon realizing that Eino was truly serious about this dragon plan. And this girl plan too! "First of all! You have made no plausible explanation for why me asking her out would do anything for your potential relationship with her," Cornelius pointed out, raising his eyebrows at him. "And secondly, even if I did go along with this no-sense-plan of yours, and she said yes, which she wouldn't..." Cornelius really had no way of truly knowing this, but he was pretty positive that this girl must've liked Eino to some extent. Or at least like him more than some random guy (being Cornelius in this situation). And if she didn't, she wasn't worth it anyway! "...You honestly think I'd just go out with her?" he asked with honest surprise in his voice.
Sure, he and Eino hadn't been friends for more than a few days, but he wasn't about to even consider going out with some girl that Eino so clearly liked! "If she actually said yes, I'd say no!"
Eino found Cornelius to be a rather expressive individual, to say the least. His exclamations always caused Eino to draw back slightly startled, and this one wasn't any different. With a greater distance between the two friends, Eino now blinked several times as he watched the boy doubt him. "No, no, no. I am quite serious." Eino protested, with the facial expression to prove it. Cornelius didn't seem to be as keen on this plan as Eino was, which was most likely the cause for his following chuckles. They were clearly on completely different pages, and it was apparent that Cornelius realized this when he didn't see Eino smiling and stopped.
"Well, you see, if she does accept to go out with you then it's because she's not interested in me." That sounded a lot sadder when he said it out loud than when he thought it, but it was still a genial plan, or so he thought. Eino paused and listened to Cornelius speak, realizing this was the longest he had ever spoken at once, which meant it was the longest he had ever gone without smiling. Non-smiley Cornelius began to look... weird. "Why wouldn't you go out with her? She is very delightful." Eino wasn't quiet sure why Cornelius was so opposed to the idea of dating Sierra, but he was curious. Sierra did have a small reputation for being a little she-snake, in other words, not always very pleasant to some people, especially the Hufflepuffs, but Eino wouldn't think that Cornelius believed it, or that he had heard about it.
Adam decided that since it was such a nice day outside that it would be a shame to sit in the Gryffindor Common Room all day, so he contacted Louisa wondering if she'd like to hang out, and upon her agreeing he made his way down. Looking at one of the opening benches Adam wandered over to it, plopping down gently, looking out at the clear skies.
Had reached a break between her study sessions, which were totally unnecessary considering the fact that the term had just begun, the fifteen years old left the library with her satchel hanging over her shoulder and walked out of the library to the courtyard where she was supposed to meet Adam.
And he was indeed there, "Adam!" She ran up to him with a small smile on her mouth. "How're you? I'm glad you came. It's been days since I saw you." Well, she hadn't seen him at the feast either. Sitting on the stony edge of the arches surrounding the courtyard, Louisa fixed her messed up hair and went on biting her fingernails absently as she waited for the boy to follow suit and sit down next to her.

He smirked. Yeah, no forcing allowed because Jonathan doesn't really like taking orders. Except for the professors of course and well, his parents. But that's a different story. He just looked at her and smiled in a way that means: no forcing or ordering indeed. What?! They both barely-- HE barely knows her and they're really not that close as well.
Is he actually going to say why he finds her weird? FINE. So that she'll know the reason "South end of the platform. Bench. You knew my name and basic stuffs about me" it made him uneasy as well. He was actually surprised that she knew that much about him. It was odd for strangers to know before actually acquainting with each other. He knows she's a Ravenclaw b-but she had her facts right. "How'd you know that much?" he narrowed his eyes and slowly went near to her.
"I'm not into wishes" at least that was clear. He's a Slytherin for Merlin's sake. Wishes always come true if you have the ambition to make them come true. You don't really need to waste a coin to drop it into the fountain.
Finally the kitchens were back to being open again, "everyone is happy that it's open again." even Jonathan felt relieved that it is open again. He likes ordering himself a nice midnight snack when he can't sleep or when he is bored. It's fun eating chocolate cake and pumpkin juice. Speaking of which, it has been rather a long time since he last ate and drank the two. He should go eat it tonight. He misses the flavor.
And why was he here? "It's outside of the school not the common room. I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to hangout anywhere." he smiled as he watched the water again and his reflection on it. "So why are you here?" he asked.
Oh! Now, you're caught stalker. How did Erin knew the facts about him? Simple. She researched. "I'd be honestly true to you," the black haired Ravenclaw started, "I am quite familiar with Asians like me. I tend to, you know research about them. There's actually not much Asians in Hogwarts," said Erin. Merlin, that was a hard one to think about. "Like this guy, Daichi, a Slytherin too. He's Asian right? He look Asian." Erin continued to explain so as to convince Jonathan Kim.
So, that was the conclusion, he was not into wishes, so he wasn't doing the throw a coin and wish on the fountain thingy. "Well, if that's what you really wanna do, then I'm not going to force you."
"Just that, she was labeled as the cookie girl, so she must the happiest kid around. I am happy too that it's back. I've never seen it open before." She was only a first year student last term. Did Jonathan Kim just smiled, and not a smirk? O.O "I'm here to, you know, to wish." That's an obvious one to guess.

Research? He's expecting she'd answer that one but obviously the question was: where did she find the notes to research about them... Asians. "Yeah he is" he confirmed. Well, what does she think Daichi is anyway? "Hmmm.... Tell me something about Daichi then" he suggested. It's only fair she knew a lot about Daichi as she does with him right?
This should be fun to hear...
Yeah no forcing, that's how it should go. Jonathan didn't bother answering to that since it was clear enough to her about his principles in the so-called wishing fountain. It's his opinion.
Jonathan looked at her. NEVER SEEN IT OPEN??? "Are you in the second year?" because the kitchens were only close last term and if she hasn't seen them open yet then that means she's just in the second year. WHOAH! Jonathan never knew that. He's getting older that's why.
And with the title cookie girl "She was called the Cookie Girl because she gives people cookies" he smiled thinking about that. Speaking of cookies, Jonathan loves to eat cookies and talking about this is making him want to eat.
To make a wish? Jonathan looked confused as he stared once again at the fountain "about grades perhaps?" she did mention about wishing for better grades to him once.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

Now that he was thinking about it, that bench had kind of been right out in the middle of things, so tucked back in the archway definitely made things more pleasant...well...quieter anyway. Adam was honestly listening to what Louisa was saying but his eyes were more focused on her fingers which seemed to be permanently glued to her mouth.
Reaching out, Adam took hold of her wrist and gently pulled it down so that she'd stop annihilating what little fingernails she had left. "At the rate you're going with that, you'll be lucky if you have any nail left by the time the term really gets going," Adam said with an empathetic smile. How was he doing? "I've been doing alright. Mostly just been sitting in the common room waiting for things to get started. How are you, other than seriously stressing out?" Adam asked with a little chuckle. He understood where Louisa was coming from though. He had his own ways of coping with the stress last year himself.

When he pulled her hand away from her mouth, Louisa let out a long sigh. "I don't know where this came from." She looked down at her uneven fingernails, "They used to be trimmed and beautiful." She crossed her arms over her chest and tucked her hands under her armpits. She was going to control this before what Adam had predicted came true.
"Yeah. Sixth year, can you believe it? You're actually one year away from graduation." She gave him a bright look, "Lucky that you got over OWLs." Oh well, she wasn't going to fuss over that again. "Tell me, how's Ruby?" Which wasn't even her name but Louisa liked to show little interest in the girl. Not that she hated her but... she took her Adam from her, well part of him so Louisa had every right in being NOT interested in her name. HEH.

Just in moderation.
"Not everyone can tell, I suppose." she said, chuckling softly. "I just play a lot... you kinda get used to the changes in the music." she explained, running a finger down the length of her shiny new bow. She put her violin up again and played a few long, slooooow notes. "I just... don't you think music is wonderful?" She kinda wished she hadn't said that - it wasn't the way she usually spoke... but music was magical... it made her think differently.
"No problem!" she said, grinning as he blushed. That reminded her, "Has Kenny seen you yet?" she asked, chuckling. She knew how much Daichi liked Kennedy, and wondered if Kenny had noticed the kid was all different looking...
Aurora blinked... "Oh, yeah, it's this muggle place. Really cool actually - they call it a theme park." She tucked a strand of red hair behind her ear. "I'd never heard of it before Hogwarts - I'm pureblood - but it's full of rides and food and stuff." And cake! But only because it was her birthday...
Laughing, Aurora said, "He's a Slytherin, he can't be stupid." Poor Daichi... "I think he's just playing with you. You know... for fun..?" Did Daichi really think Jonathan didn't know..? Had Aurora just ruined Jonathan's game..? Oops...
"You have to take lessons DURING hogsmeade break?!" Daichi gasped. "That is so cruel!" As much as he loved learning, he still prefered a break if he was given an option.
Daichi's blush came back as Aurora had found out his little lie. Was he so easy to read? "Uh.. hehe well, if i could hear it i'm sure it would sound better" he said awkwardly and hopped on to the stoney edge of the courtyard and one thing was what he noticed immediately. His feet were touching the ground! Like, really touching the ground! he remembered in his first year he had to dangle his legs in the air at the same spot. This really felt good!
"I think music is awesome!" he answered with a bright smile before pushing himself off the edge and did a little dance to some invisible music. His hips swayed , followed with a robot dance and then a popping with his chest.... And that's where he got embarrased again.
"Gaaah i'm sorry~!" he apologized and quickly sat back down, eyeing the courtyard and prayed no one had seen him.
Kenny? hehe "Is that a nickname for your booooyfriend?" he laughed and stuck his tongue out. "But no, i haven't seen him yet. I heard he became Prefect?" that was more of a question actually.
"Oh you mean like that big carnival that was in Diagon Alley last year? With those rides and looooots of food?" His mouth watered even at the thought and he looked a bit out of focus when he snapped back. "So...so...Jonathan knows who i am and..and is just playing with me?" he asked, feeling a bit sad. The third year lowered his head and shrugged his shoulders. He was so sure he was winning this game but.... "Oh , okay" he pouted.
Mental note, make a VERY SERIOUS conversation with Jonathan!

Aurora nodded, "Sort of, only an hour or so. Just for my tutor to make sure I'm on track with my studying and practicing. Then my exam's in the Christmas Holidays, then it's all done with!" she said excitedly, already looking forward to never having to study music theory again unless she wanted to... for some weird reason.
"Yeah. Just wait until I get a Veela hair one... when I'm of age." she said, grinning. "The whole music becomes like a spell." And that was why you weren't allowed one until you were of age... and even then you had to apply for it.
"Music is awesome!" she said, chuckling at Daichi's dance. "No need to apologise! I enjoyed it. But I don't think you can really dance like that to the sort of music I play." she said, grinning. Once again, Aurora lifted her violin to her neck. "I learnt this muggle film tune during the summer. From something about a ring or something... listen." She lifted her bow and began to play, from about half way through, the violin part to a tune. She played for about a minute and lowered her violin.
Aurora raised an eyebrow, "Well... yes." she said matter-of-factly. "I suppose it is." Well, it was a nickname (not one that he particularly liked though) and he was her boyfriend. So yes, it was a nickname for her boyfriend. "Yeah, he did. I haven't seen him much recently either. I think he's just getting used to the whole prefect thing."
"Umm... sort of. But like, permanent. And themed, and with bigger rides, and more food, better food, and... and people dressed up and... loads of stuff. Like games and things." Wow, Disney World was hard to explain - especially when she didn't quite understand it herself. Having never watched films or television, Aurora was a bit oblivious to the point of Disney World... she'd had a lot of fun though. Oh... now he looked all... dejected. "Only maybe. You never know, you could have deceived him." Aurora said, smiling. "I wouldn't count on it though."

On that note, Erin thought to herself that Jonathan Kim was actually extracting something from her. But because she is a Ravenclaw, she could do everything to get out of here without bruises, right? In her heart or her pride or her shame. "Daichi. Well his name is Daichi Katharos. He's from Slytherin. His name sounded like Japanese but he is actually a Korean," said Erin. That was what you call 'Ravenclaws are smarter than you.'
Erin smiled before answering, Jonathan Kim was after all smiling towards her, "Yes I am. And last term, it was closed to students. So, I never gotten the chance to see it."
To make a wish about you. Hehe. But that would be out of line. Grades? Ravenclaws didn't need those, Mister. "I'm here for...for...for my sister." It just came to her. Why would she wish for Kristina whom she had an argue with last summer, whom she swore to Merlin, she would never talk to again? Yes, she wished, she would be shipped outside this country and never come back again. "We're actually not in good terms," she said instead.

Logan walked to the courtyard. He hadn't been here yet! His brown eyes scanned the whole place. Wow it was amazing! He loved it already! He went and found a spot to sit and sat down. Wow, Hogwarts was really amazing! There were so many places to explore...he was thankful to be a part of this school.

Angelina was sitting down, reading her book, when she saw someone sit down next to her. Looking over she saw a younger boy sit down. Smiling Angelina said, "Hi, I'm Angelina, you?" She doesn't think she ever saw him around Hogwarts at all, then again it is a pretty big place, she hasn't seem too many people around she talks to lately.

As Aspen was prone to do, she took that question seriously. DID she want to convert to Slytherinism? Hmm.
..
..
"I think the Sorting Hat knows best. I'm probably too weird for Slytherin," she answered honestly, matter-of-fact.
Aspen picked up a loose bit of paper from Taryn's letter writing stash and began to make folds. "Define cool."

Angelina heard that name before... huh? oh yes! "Its nice too meet you to Logan," Angelina took Logan's hand and shook it, "do you my chance know Taylor? I don't know he last name, but she is a second year Ravenclaw." Taylor mentioned a Logan, maybe it was him?

Know Taylor? Taylor the one he had a massive crush on?! Yeaaah he knew her. "Yeah, I know her." he said nodding. "She's very nice." he said, trying not to blush. If he ever thought about Taylor, talked to her, or said her name he always blushed...it was getting on his nerves lately!!

That sounded a lot sadder when he said it out loud than when he thought it, but it was still a genial plan, or so he thought.
Cornelius quieted his small rant of confusion as Eino spoke, beginning to explain that if Sierra accepted Cornelius's offer of a date, then it would be because she was not interested in Eino, and then he would know for sure. The new student opened his mouth to retort, even raising up a slightly pointed finger as though this was going to help emphasize the point he was about to make, but then he realized...he didn't have a point. The plan made...unfortunate sense, in its own way. Cornelius lowered his pointed finger and closed his mouth as his brows furrowed, letting Eino's explanation sink in.
Before he could really reply, Eino was asking why he wouldn't want to go out with this girl, if she said yes, even adding that she was delightful. Cornelius's expression cracked into a bit of a grin, unable to not just be a bit amused by Eino. "Because, Eino, she's delightful to you, she means something to you," he explained with a shake of his head and a soft chuckle. "I wouldn't even consider actually dating a girl you find 'delightful'," he continued, his expression entirely honest as he flashed him a weak smile. "Friends don't do that." He knew they met each other recently, but Cornelius thought of the two of them as friends, and suddenly hoped that Eino didn't think it was strange for him to already consider them as such.
He let out a bit of a sigh, his mind obviously still running over this whole ask-out-the-girl thing. It wasn't that bad of an idea... And he honestly thought that she would definitely decline a random student asking her out. But what if, on some crazy one-in-a-million chance, she said yes? He would hate if Eino didn't get the girl because of him! That was the opposite of his intentions! He wanted Eino to get the girl with his help! But...if she said no, as he was pretty positive she would, it would undoubtedly renew Eino's confidence in the potential relationship between himself and this she-snake...
"If you really want this, then I will, as your friend, ask her out just to see her response," Cornelius decided after a few moments of thought. "But are you completely positive you want me to?"
