Ella returned the smile the best she could. She braced herself and then began to tell Logan what happened, speaking quickly. "No-it's okay. My dad has something called pneumonia. I don't know too much other than it's an infection in his lungs. He was too stubborn to go to the doctors and now...now he's in the hospital." Ella looked down, trying to catch her breath. "My mum said-she said that he's going to be fine, that it's easy enough to treat but I'm still scared. I just thought-" Ella didn't want to sound foolish but she continued anyway. "I thought that maybe if I wished for him to get better, he would. Is that silly?" She looked up at Logan, happy to be done with the story.

Nate falls down from the glisseo spell but it only. Then the expelliarmus spell hit but before it did that he said "Prehenso!" While pointing his wand at his hand. Then his wand tryed to get away but it couldn't because of the prehenso charm. "Good job smart one the prehenso charm on my hand won't allow it to get away. Oh and finite!" He said while pointing at the ground. When the ground returns to normal he gets up and starts running again. "Acio flag! Acio wand!"

Logan listened to Ella speak. "Oh, Ella...I'm so sorry about that." he said. He then looked at her, and cocked his head slightly. He took her hand in his and shook his head. "It's not silly at all, Ella." he said. "Not at all." he said. "Don't you even think it." he said.

Ella squeezed Logan's hand. "Thanks, I've never been one to wish on anything but ever since finding out I had power...well I believe that more things are possible, you know?" She looked at him, wondering if he found the same to be true. "He's going to be fine-my dad. I just know it..." He has to be. "So, what have you been up to today? Anything fun going on? I just need to do something to get out of this funk."

"Yeah, I know exactly what you mean." he said, nodding slightly. "Yes, Ella. He'll be perfectly fine." he said, smiling at her. "Ohh...nothing really." he said, shrugging. "Just school..." he said.

Ella tried to perk up a bit. She didn't want to be a debbie downer."How are you liking classes and everything so far? Have a favorite yet?" She considered the classes she had been taking. They were all really interesting but quite a lot of work.

"They're real great." he said smiling. "I really like flying, it's fun! Except for those stupid squirrels." he said laughing. "What about you, Ella?" he asked.

Nate is so close to reaching the flag. He is only about 5 yards away. For good measure though he said "Acio flag!" You never know someone might be waiting in the shadows.

Ella laughed thinking about the squirrels. "Those squirrels were horrible! Definitely not what I had expected for my first flying lesson!" She said with a grin on her face. "I love flying too. I would love to be able to play quidditch some day. Maybe I'll try out for my house team next year... I like herbology as well. Even if the greenhouse does creep me out a little."

How could that boy fall, get up, counter another Ravenclaw's spell, counter his own spell and cast a summoning charm on two diifferent objects all in one go? This must be one of those super wizards he's been hearing about but didnt believe. Mostly because he knew they didnt exist.

Even Voldemort was defeated by a kid less than half his age and skill.

And this Ravenclaw wasnt about to let their flag fly off onto a Puff's hands so easily. Finally being far-sighted worked to his advantage. He aimed squarely at the blue flag and cast "Wingardium Leviosa!" trying to seize it mid-air before it falls onto the Badger's hands.

"You'll never get me! Finite! Expelliarmus! Glisseo! Acio wand! Acio flag!"

Oh this kid was really testing him. "FINITE INCANTATEM!!" he bellowed with as much intent as he could muster at ALL the spells the boy uttered, not really caring which of those actually took effect, or perhaps none at all.

And as for the flag, Vickers started to move towards it, keeping himself between it and the boy. That flag is not going anywhere outside this Courtyard. Thats for sure.

"I will have that flag. No matter what it takes I will get that flag from you! Now expelliarmus! I will need your wand!" Nate needed that flag.

Vickers stepped aside to avoid that spell flying his way, closer if anything towards the flag, and cast a strong Protego spell just to be sure "Need my wand? Why whats wrong with your own? Its not starting to doubt its Master's abilities is it?" He was pretty sure his own wand doesnt do that to him.

Finally catching his breath, Keefer looked toward the Ravenclaw base. He saw a young boy there, possibly Nate. It was hard to tell from so far away. From what he could tell, the boy was attempting incantations far above his ability level. That's never going to work, he thought. Ravies are smart. You have to catch them off guard. And speaking of which...

The entire Ravenclaw defense seemed to be preoccupied with Nate. They all had their backs turned to Keefer, in fact. This may be the perfect opportunity...

He twisted and tapped his wand, saying "Prehenso," once again for good measure. If he was going to get close enough, there was no way he wanted to have to cast the charm again. He quietly cast another spell, this time a Disillusionment Charm. I should be virtually invisible now. But I'll crawl all the same.

He hit the ground and began to crawl Army-style toward the Ravens and Nate. Stealthily, he made it closer and closer to the flag and the hub of the defense's attention. Quietly standing, he edged around three people. He was so close. He reached out, waiting to see if he could take the flag without anyone noticing. Please let Nate keep them busy! His hand made contact...

"It still works but I will still need it. I'll give it back, but if you capture me. I'll exchange it with you for my freedom if I get captured. Now back to wh- Expelliarmus!"

Taylor shot an immobulus charm at her cousin, trying to get him to stop trying to get to the flag..... that and so he will shut up for once.

Hand in midair, he heard footsteps behind him. He turned his head and noticed a girl right next to him. She was going after Nate. Close call, he thought. He turned his attention back to the flag. He waited until no one was looking and gently lifted the flag from its hiding place without a sound. Keep distracting them, Nate!

Slowly but surely, he knelt back to the ground. He attempted a nonverbal Disillusionment Charm on the flag, but no good. Well, I've only just learned them, no surprise there. This time he whispered the incantation and met with success. Keefer silently began to crawl away toward the nearest neutral zone.

"Portego! Expelliarmus! Immobulus!" Come on I have to keep them distracted.

Going back and forth with the kid Vickers has realized the boy was far below his year. But would he risk ignoring the spells cast just because he was pretty sure it wouldnt have any effect? Risk taking wasnt a part of Vickers' vocabulary. At least not yet.

He steps backwards and closer to the flag again, but all the same gripping his wand and casting a strong Protego spell in defense.




Then VIckers turned around. The flag was gone. WHAT??? How can that happen? With Eagles eyes he though he spotted something blue in the air. And vanished!

He knew there was some funny business going on. Students casting spells with abilities far greater than he would even thought possible. Oi wouldnt the Aurors want to take a look at the specimen like that.

He backed away from the Puff and left him with the fellow Ravenclaw to deal with. And with broad strokes of the necessary wand movement Vickers began uttering "FINITE INCANTATEM! FINITE INCANTATEM!" to everywhere and anything his wand could reach, picking up pace and running towards the exist of the Courtyard.

"Hey look behind you. Immobolus!"

Taylor shouted at her cousin, "Immobulus!" She blocked the spell her cousin casted at the raven by throwing a rock.

"Protego! Immobolus!" He said while pointing it at his cousin.

OOC: He didnt have his back turned on Nate-- please read the above post it says "backed away" meaning he was still facing him somewhat.

Vickers was still casting Finite Incantatem when he saw the little Puff come right at him. With a spell. Which likely didnt work since he was already casting Finite Incantatem.

Err... right.

Vickers keeps a sharp eye around the courtyard. With the Finite Incantatem certain magic was bound to have stopped by now. He was looking for something AND someone.

"You'll never find the flag now. Immobulus! Confundus!"
