This corridor is a simple, airy hallway with openings to allow in as much sunshine as possible and fresh air. It is an excellent transition from the school to the grounds as it exits out into the courtyard.
Justin walked out into the corridor and saw Harvey and Minerva talking and decided to join them. " Hey, Harv! Whatta been hiding from me , Mate? " he asked as he went to shake his best mate's hand. Would you like to join me at the lake for a workout ,Harv? "

Treyen had been walking back from...wherever he'd been before, and he'd decided to stand, or rather lean against one of the windows to simply look out to the grounds. Not the Courtyard, no, because his eyes were looking past it yet at nothing in particular at the same time.
For a moment there he was actually not thinking. His mind was blank. He knew there was a bunch of stuff to take care of this afternoon, but he was enjoying pretending to have nothing better to do than looking out a window. It was beginning to be fun, which was a little sad, wasn't it?

She didn't know?! Then how... Argh. Sierra looked down at the note then back up at Hollingberry. "So how am I meant to find this girl, hmm?" she asked. Was Hollingberry the Owl going to help her? ...and what did she owe Evelyn anyway? Her supposed-friend didn't even write to her, and now she was barking orders left and right?! "Unless you're planning on helping me..." Which meant they'd have to hang out--sort of, but now Sierra was curious.
Kurumi raised an eyebrow at Sierra. Didn't Slytherins all have some sort of secret method that they used to dig up dirt on people? "Isn't your brother a Hufflepuff?" she asked. Surely he would be able to find whoever this Evelyn was that the other Evelyn was concerned about. This STILL didn't clear up how the Snake!Evelyn knew about the Puff!Evelyn. That was still really freaky.
Kurumi's attention was now on Sierra completely. "What...did you have in mind?"

Evelyn walked down the corridor, feeling a little depressed. She was still finding it tough to adjust to her new environment..even though it had been a while since she started school. Sigh. She loved Hogwarts, no doubt. But, she was really starting to miss her family, her friends back in France.
Erm. Was that Treyen who was leaning against the window? The guy she met in the common room? She decided to greet him..and hoped that he would remember her..otherwise, it would be awkward, to say the least.

"Hey Treyen." Evelyn said, nervously.
Needless to say, Treyen was so focused on the far away point that he paid no attention to the person walking close-by, or...towards him. Though, once his name was mentioned he realized that it was the latter action.
His head instantly turned to the girl that was now next to him and he smiled, widely, "I'm confused," he was finding this particularly amusing, "I thought we agreed that you'll call me Trey, and I'll call you Eve, right Evelyn?" he said, still smiling...before noticing the look on her face, at which point his smile was replaced with a frown.
It wasn't his obligation as Head Boy to ask this next question, he was actually curious and rather worried, especially after knowing that she was liking her time at Hogwarts.
"What's wrong?" Because there was something wrong, right? She didn't seem okay. "If it's okay for me to know, that is." He almost forgot that this was the second time they'd met.

Evelyn grinned and gave a sigh of relief. Okay. So, she didn't really embarrass herself. "Oh, yeah. Sorry...Trey. Frankly, I'm even surprised you even remembered my name." Evelyn flushed a little. She shouldn't have said that aloud. Oh, jeez.
The sixteen year old leaned her head against the wall and looked out the window..although she didn't really notice anything outside. She was still thinking about home and the really weird conversation she had with Louisa. Gosh, she still couldn't figure out what problem Louisa had with her.
Huh. Trey's voice broke her thoughts. "Of course, it's okay." Evelyn smiled at him. What was wrong? "Well, nothing much..it's just that I think I'm homesick..a little.." She ran a hand through her hair and continued, "..and the fact that I don't why this particular girl dislikes me so much when I hardly even know her." Erm. She turned to look out the window again with a small sigh.

The Head Boy chuckled next. "I'm kidding, by the way, I don't mind if you call me 'Trey' or 'Treyen'." He didn't. Nessie called him Trey as well, he likes it, otherwise he'll say something...like the 'Treyen-Mr.-Head-Boy' name he got from Sophie and Glenn.
Huh? "Why wouldn't I?" Remember her name. It wasn't hard to remember, plus, he associated her with a former Evelyn, which kind of helped, but even if he hadn't...he'd still remember it.
Now he knew more than ever that something was actually wrong. Oh. Homesick? "That's understandable." He said, flashing another smile. Which fade until it became a small one. So...that wasn't particularly nice. From that girl, whoever that was. "Actually, Eve, I say you just forget about that girl," because she was not important, "Whoever she is, she's certainly not worth it. You shouldn't worry about it." Truly, it was the other girl's loss.
"As far as the homesick part goes...well, the holidays are almost here. You'll see them soon." That was the bright side, no? For him, holidays meant Hogwarts and more studying. Yet it was his choice, so he was happy about it.

"Nah. I think I prefer calling you Trey. It's a nice name." Evelyn gave a small smile before she continued, "...as long as you continue calling me Eve, of course." Not that she had a problem when people called her Evelyn but Eve was preferable.
Okay. So, she didn't have an answer to that question. "Huh. I don't know..maybe because we met only once before and that..." Erm. Evelyn started to get a little flustered. She hurriedly continued, "Anyway, I'm glad you remembered me..or rather..my name."
" "Yeah. I mean it's just..sometimes..I can't help think about home." When he told her to just forget about the girl, she nodded. "I guess I should. From the moment we met, she behaved like she didn't like me at all..which was absurd." Evelyn just shook her head in disbelief. "But yeah, you're right. There's no point in me in worrying about it."
When he said that holidays were just around the corner, Evelyn grinned. "I wish I could go home but I have so much studying to do. So, yeah. I decided to stay back and pretty much spend all my time in the library."
"Thanks for listening, Trey." Evelyn gave him a smile and tucked a strand of her hair behind an ear before she said, "So..enough about me. How have you been doing?"

And he was blushing again. Only not too noticeable, not like in the Common Room, that is. Still, there was a faint blush on his cheeks. He had no control over his given name, they've been through that before. Heh. "I will." So, it was settled. Good.
Awww, that was cute. And funny if you considered the circumstances in which they met. "How could I not?"Wink. "It's not everyday you meet someone that was born the same day you were." Hence why he should be able to remember her name. Not that he wouldn't have remembered it otherwise. He was good with names, apparently. Well, most of the time.
Home. A small smile made its way to his lips. "I know the feeling." He missed Dorset whenever he was in Appleby, and...he was still not going home after Hogwarts. London will play a temporary part as home. His sister should leave him the house in Dorset and be nice enough to move to Wimbourne. But...whatever. His attention was back to her instead of his thoughts when she mentioned this other girl, "Were you doing something in particular? Do you know her name?" Treyen was curious now, thanks Eve.
Whaaaat?!
He chuckled and then shook his head, "You're not going home either?" another thing they shared? Exactly how similar could they be? "We could study together." He still didn't know if Arya was staying, but he could use the company.
And she was thanking him? "Er, yeah, it's no problem at all." He actually disagreed. He still knew very little of her...but did you notice how he really didn't ask questions? And...him? "That's not nearly enough." FYI. But he decided on answering instead of asking something else, he looked out the window again. "I've been okay. Studying, playing Quidditch...,"missing his girlfriend, at the mention of the sport, his eyes went back to Eve, "Do you like Quidditch?"

Evelyn grinned when she noticed the red on his cheeks. Why was he blushing? She had absolutely no idea. Although, It was quite funny to see boys turn red. Oh, nice. Thankfully, there won't be someone calling her Evelyn from now on.
Now, it was her turn to blush. Great. Evelyn could feel her cheeks growing really warm. "Yeah." Evelyn smiled at him before she looked at the window. "I still think it's pretty cool." Speaking of birthdays, she cringed inwardly when she realized that she was going to turn seventeen in a few months. Eeek! "Just a few more months to go..."
"I'm glad someone understands." Evelyn brushed her hair back from her forehead before she slightly turned to look out the window. When he asked if she was doing something in particular, she looked surprised. "No! I mean, I was at the Topiary garden and this girl sits next to me before she starts behaving like I'm her worst enemy." What was her name? "Louisa." Evelyn said, shortly.
"You're not going home?" Wow. This was getting to be more than a little freaky. They seemed to have so many things in common. "Yeah, we could. I'm staying back so that I can get some serious studying done.." She really couldn't believe that she was going to be studying during Christmas.
Eh? That's not nearly enough? Evelyn turned slightly red again before he started to answer her question. Her eyes went back to the window again. Did she like quidditch? "I do." Evelyn nodded before she looked back at Trey. "I can't play, though. It's funny because I love sports...but I'm simply horrible at playing." She was speaking from certain disastrous experiences.

One would think he's learned his lesson, right? He should probably stop winking altogether. Treyen was almost positive that the blush on her cheeks was because of that. Well, either that or something he said.
So, he'll stop. Unless it was absolutely necessary.
The boy noticed something, though, "Someone's beginning to sound extremely excited about turning seventeen...," he said, eyes on Eve. Again, Aaron had been even more thrilled than Ellie. Amusing.
Then a small smile appeared on his face, again. No comment was made this time, he merely nodded. He understood, and she was glad he did. That was always nice. Understanding. But as soon as she replied, his eyes widened at the exclamation. Yeah, so, Eve did nothing at all. Got it. He didn't interrupt...and then chuckled at the mention of the name, "Is this Louisa a Ravenclaw, by any chance? You know, Ravenclaws tend to be moody." This was something he was just starting to believe, well, no, no, he did believe they were moody, he just didn't want to think Ellie belonged there somehow.
And, no, he wasn't going home. Scary, no? "Not this time." Plus, he got to spend more time at his beloved school, which wasn't too bad, it just wasn't the same as spending the holidays with the family, "I have NEWTs to get ready for," which was something he'd begun doing since Hogwarts started. "Then it's settled, we'll study together." Cue wide smile. But he added something else...just in case, "Er, I mean, like, with the rest of the students that get to stay." Not like they were going to be the only ones staying, anyway.
GRIN.
He straightened up a little....more. "That's okay, you can cheer us from the Stands!" Merlin knows the cheering part was a very important one.

Evelyn still felt a little flustered. She really didn't like blushing in front of people..it was just embarrassing.
She raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Excited? I'm dreading the day I turn seventeen..and I'm pretty sure my birthday is going to be pretty boring." Since, she would be at school, she wouldn't be able to spend her day with her family and friends..like she usually did on her birthdays. Sigh. "Seems like you're looking forward to your eighteenth birthday."
Evelyn turned towards the window again and leaned her forehead lightly against the glass. Oh. Did he just laugh? She was never going to learn, was she? She really shouldn't have said anything in the first place. When he asked if she was a ravenclaw, Evelyn turned towards him with a surprised look on her face. "Yeah."
o_O.
"Erm. Do you know her?" Evelyn asked, politely although she was quite annoyed.
"Oh, okay. Sounds good to me." Evelyn smiled. At his next few words, she let out a small laugh. Gosh, did he actually think..? "I'm not looking at it as a study 'date' or something..so you have nothing to be worried about, Trey." She still had a smile on her face and brushed her hair back from her face. "Er. What are you grinning at?"
"Yeah, of course! I'll definitely be cheering for you guys." Evelyn smiled, excitedly. She was really looking forward to watch her house play.

Scabior gazed out at the grounds as he slowly made his way down the hall. The fresh air would be nice, even if it was a bit chilly. He wasn't so much getting fresh air, as he was looking for any student who seemed to be doing nothing productive.
No. He wasn't going to take points away. In fact he was in a giving sort of mood.

Haha. That was hilarious. He wasn't laughing, though, but it was incredibly funny that she felt that way, "You're the first person I've ever heard say that, actually," everyone else seemed excited about...FINALLY being able to do magic, EVEN if they've been doing that same thing for six years, but yeah, "I can only say that...having an Apparition license is the best thing ever," especially if one got it at first try and their sister didn't, "Not that we get to use it much at Hogwarts...," true, with all the anti-Apparition charms...but it was still the best, and as far as having a boring birthday goes..., "We'll figure out what to do that day."Sigh. Eighteen. That was...lots of responsibility, no? And scary. And truly terrifying. But it was pretty awesome at the same time...except for the fact that it all meant he had to leave Hogwarts. "Not exactly."
But...he wasn't getting into that right now.
Then...yeah, Louisa. Treyen shook his head, "I don't know if there's more than one Louisa, but I do know one...and...she's particularly moody," and insane, for the most part, "But she's a cool kid, once you get to know her," or once she makes up her mind about you. She...also tended to dislike people for insignificant reasons. But she was a nice girl, really. At least with the ones she liked.
OH. Yeah, of course, he knew that. The studying get-together was just for studying, and if someone planned on telling something like this to Aparecium, they better include the 'study' part. Or else. Treyen...cleared his throat, "Yeah, I know, I know," he said, nodding, "I didn't--I wasn't--," he couldn't finish a sentence now, that was awkward, "It's all okay." He finally said, with a small smile.
And the grinning bit? "You like Quidditch. That's always a plus." Fact.
There was a minor correction to her sentence, though, "Cheer for me as well, of course."Smirk. He was joking, by the way.

Oh, for Gilderoy's sake. REALLY? REALLY?! Scabior had nothing better to do during day time? Because Treyen was pretty much sure the History dude was super busy at nights. After all, the risks of losing points after dark was greater.
The Head Boy actually pretended not to see him. No more loss of points on behalf of Scabior.

"I know what you mean." Evelyn said, sullenly. "People are all so excited about turning seventeen because you get to use your magic..officially.. but I don't know. I can live without magic, you know?" She was a muggleborn and even though she loved using magic, it was not hard for her to survive without it..unlike the other students. She turned to look at him and grinned when she noticed the excitement on his face. "Really?" Oh, yeah. One can't really apparate within Hogwarts. She'd found that out on the first day. "Anyway, I think it's pretty awesome that you have the license." Yeah, well. She knew that she wasn't going to enjoy it. "Well, if you're planning to throw me a party..just make sure there's lots of cake." Evelyn grinned. Cake would definitely make her day. "No? I mean, eighteen! That's like a milestone." Evelyn said, excitedly.
"Moody just about sums it up." Honestly, Evelyn wouldn't have described her as moody but yeah..it would do. Cool kid? Er, yeah. Riiight. "Well, if you say so." Evelyn said, doubtfully..not that she was going to see her again..and even if she did, Evelyn would probably run a mile.
When Evelyn noticed how awkward he looked, she burst out laughing. Oh gosh! "Trey, what on earth made you think that? I mean, I.." She was going to say that she didn't actually 'like' him or something but that would sound..rude. "Yeah, well. Just relax, okay?" She started to laugh again.
Her laughter subsided although she didn't look at his face for the fear of laughing again. "Oh. Okay." She frowned for a moment before she continued, "What if I had said that I didn't like quidditch?"
Evelyn was a little confused. Was he flirting with her? Eh, no. That was not possible..or, was it? Sigh. Gosh, why was she so clueless about anything related to boys? "Er, of course." The girl just hoped the confusion didn't show on her face.

No. He wasn't going to take points away. In fact he was in a giving sort of mood.

Evelyn noticed that Trey didn't seem too happy when he looked at someone who was walking down the corridor. She turned around to see that it was Professor Scabior. Eh, great. She wasn't going to greet him, though. The girl just turned around and gazed out the window, hoping that the professor would just ignore them both.
Of course. Treyen nodded, but there was something that confused him, "I think we can all live without magic," all Wizards could survive without it, as far as HOW they'll be able to do so, well, that was up to each of them.
YES. REALLY. He could apparate wherever he wanted to, within reason, and he wasn't trying out for the international thing just yet. Not that he'd truly need it anytime soon. "Yup. Thanks." The Apparition lessons didn't help as much as practicing the actual thing, practice makes perfect, after all. And then he laughed, "I don't think a 'party' might happen, but there will be cake."Wink. Or cupcakes, whichever. Yeah, milestone. Awesome. "It is." Hence why he was having a liiiittle bit of trouble with it.
Nod, nod. Yes, Louisa was cool. Kind of. "She is, or at least to me...but she was incredibly rude at first." There was a backstory to all that, which he was not getting into at the moment.
Okay. This was both hilarious and awkward. Some straightening of facts needed to be done, yes? "Actually," he started to say, "I think some clarification is needed...," he chuckled, and yes, the clarification WAS necessary, "...I don't really thought of it as a date 'date', but in the past I've led some girls on without intending to..," just two girls, but still, and then there was Louisa, who he know believed had fallen for Dallin after the time he spent with her when he was polyjuiced as Dallin. Complicated stuff. Lockharts carried a bunch of drama, apparently.
He looked out the window again, "I'm actually seeing the Ravenclaw Captain," for quite some time, too, and he loved her, but that information wasn't revealed, mainly because he forgot to keep on talking and the thought of Ellie made him lost track of what he was saying. A smile was on his face, of course.
Hopefully, this will clarify stuff.
And...didn't like what? Quidditch? Oh, right! He turned towards her again, "It would've been okay," he shrugged. Arya wasn't the greatest fan of the sport and she was his best friend, so, yeah.
Well, see, it was settled, one more Quidditch fan on the Stands for the Hufflepuff team. Amazing!

Sure, when people randomly turned away to pretend like they didn't see you it actually meant they didn't see you. The man resisted the urge to roll his eyes at both students.
Didn't the Hufflepuffs know anything? Not the Headboy surely, since Scabior was sure that the leader of the students had completely given up on attending his class. "Ms. Wellington, Mr. Lockhart" He looked between the two, was he interrupting something? "Are you two busy?"

Evelyn shrugged. "Maybe." She wasn't really sure about that but then again she might be wrong. "Would you be able to live without magic, Trey? I mean.." She was a little flustered. "If you don't mind me asking, that is."
Apparition. Evelyn couldn't help but think how wonderful that was. I mean, to be able to go wherever you want without spending much time..well, without spending any time in traveling at all was just amazing. Since she loved to visit new places, she could just apparate and the next second..she would be there. Lovely, wasn't it?
Sayy what!? "No party!?" Evelyn couldn't help but give a dramatic gasp. "Trey! That's just not on! I expect my friend to throw me a huge party!" She looked at him for a second before she proceeded to laugh. "Okay. I definitely expect cake though!" When he didn't respond the way she expected him to, she frowned. "Um. Aren't you excited?" About turning eighteen, that is.
Incredibly rude? Well, that wasn't a surprise. "Ok, well..I guess I'm never going to know the reason why.." She trailed off, lost in thought for a moment.
Clarification? Okay, cool. Evelyn listened patiently when he explained that he led girls on without intending to..huh. "Well, I guess you're a ladies man, eh?" Evelyn asked playfully before she said with a smile, "Well, I don't think you have to worry about that as far as I'm concerned. I'm just a friend."
Huh? Did he see the ravenclaw captain outside the window? Oh. It suddenly dawned on her. He was dating the ravenclaw captain. You're a genius, Eve. Anyway.. "That's lovely, Trey. What's she like?" She noticed the dreamy look on his face and gave a small giggle. "Looks like somebody is in love."
"Well, that's..good." Evelyn smiled. She brushed the hair from her face as she looked out the window.

Busy? Oh, yeah. They were busy talking! "Erm. Well.." What was she to say? She looked at Trey, hoping he would answer the question. Gosh, what on earth did he want with them?
Maybe? Well, yeah, he had to take into account those who couldn't see themselves living without magic. Her question was entirely fair, especially since she's already said she could do it, live without magic, and even if magic was something he's been exposed to since he was born...he could live without it. Granted, half the time he forgot he had a wand, and his career choice was also one in the Muggle world. Really, he could do it. "I would." He nodded, but...will he want to? Not exactly. There was something extra special about magic.
His eyes widened a little bit, didn't she say she wasn't one for parties? Or was he now confused with someone else that happened to be that day in the Common Room, eh? Funny, though, it all was. "Haha, I still don't know...it's months away," he was beginning to sound like Ellie and NEWTs. BUT YES, Eve shouldn't worry, "There'll be cake. I promise." And when Hufflepuffs made promises...they never broke them, right?
Was he excited about turning eighteen? "I'm not sure...," so, yeah, he probably wasn't.
About Louisa..., "Which is why it's probably a good thing to just let it go." He added a small smile at the end. Perhaps one day she'll know, but she shouldn't be worrying about it, really.
Whaaaat? Not in the full sense of the word, he wasn't. "I'm actually a one-girl guy...," two seemed like such a hassle, and he didn't intend on having someone else besides Ellie, she was...all he wanted. "Good to know." His smile widened, it was nice to know he wouldn't have any more awkward moments with Eve, right? Right?
Now the smile turned into a sweet one as he kept on looking out the window. 'What's she like?'. Treyen couldn't describe her in one word, and it was probably for the best that he didn't go into details either, but..., "She's perfect," and he still wondered why she'd chosen him, yet it was true, she was perfect, to him anyway, aaaaand...he didn't answer, he simply blushed a bright red this time. He loved Ellie. But as far as mentioning that to someone he wasn't so close to seemed too odd, no? Only a few selected friends knew that, and he was almost positive that Kurumi didn't know this. And he tells the Gryffindor Prefect a lot of things.
He nodded twice when Quidditch was brought up...and he was going to keep on talking about it...but Scabior didn't get the HINT.

Hey, hold on. Miss Wellington? That was her last name? He didn't know that. His attention was turned to the HoM Professor, and yes, it was fairly obvious that Treyen was NOT thrilled to see him.
PLUS, Treyen was well aware that he wasn't doing something that was worthy of taking points away. So, watch what you say Scabior, because Treyen was ready to retaliate.
Er, busy? Was he BLIND? They were TALKING. That was a way of keeping oneself busy, it was perfectly obvious Scabior never had any friends in order to know this. "May I ask why, Professor?"Squint like Saylen.

Well it seemed like only one of them was able to form coherent sentences. As for the Head Boy? Well Scabior did not appreciate the way the boy was looking at him. He simply stared at him, completely unfazed by his hostile squinting eyes. "I have a task that needs to be completed." He looked between the two. "However if you both are busy..." He'd find another student.
He looked between the mute and the suspicious one, Scabior did not have all day for them to decide.

"You would?" Evelyn asked, surprised. That's nice. Once she finished school, she was pretty sure she was going to get a job with the muggles. She had zero interest in joining the ministry, to be honest. "If you don't mind me asking.." Evelyn hesitated. No, she didn't want to ask that question. It was personal and he might consider it rude. "Sorry. Just forget it."
Evelyn noticed the confusion on his face. "I was joking, Trey!" Gosh, why did people have to take her so seriously all the time? It was just..irritating. When he promised her that there would be cake, Evelyn couldn't help but smile. "Thanks. That's nice of you." She gave a dreamy sigh when she remembered her sixteenth birthday. There was no party but basically, a guhe gathering of her family and the most amazing part was that there was this huge cake with her face on it. It was beautiful.
Not sure? Ah, well. Evelyn didn't pursue that subject.
"Yeah, I know. It's just that..I don't know..sometimes, it just nags me.." Anyway, she supposed he was right. It was a waste of time, really. She should just forget about the whole episode and move on.
Evelyn stifled a laugh that barely escaped her mouth. SHE WAS JOKING. Goodness. Maybe she should just make a sign that said 'It's a JOKE' and carry it around. Or...maybe, people didn't understand her jokes? Nope. That was not possible. The girl just rolled her eyes and looked slightly annoyed. "I'm glad to know." She refused to look at him. Anyway, she was glad that she made it clear to him. He was a nice guy but he definitely wasn't her type of guy..but then again who was her type of guy?..
Details. She'd hoped for details. "Hm. Nice to know." Oh. Was he blushing again? Great. She grinned and turned towards the window. He was clearly in love. She gave a small sigh. It must be a great feeling..to know that you like someone so much and hopefully, when the other person liked you back as well. When that thought crossed her mind, she could feel her cheeks turn faintly pink. Oh, no.

Why did she sound so surprised, though? Was it so hard to believe? Actually, it was, "I wouldn't mind living without it...but I like belonging in this world very much." Did that answer her question? Probably not. Treyen will be one to miss Quidditch quite a bit if he went all Muggle. Granted, he liked it, because the time with the Muggle side of his family wasn't so bad at all.
Treyen was going to listen very carefully to...er, to nothing, she decided against asking him something else. That was weird. But he didn't push it. Eve had her reasons not to mention whatever it was she was going to say.
Oh. She was joking? The Head Boy chuckled. Never in a million years he would've thought she was. He still nodded at her thanks. "It's okay. No problem." It wasn't a cake for ONE person, anyway, two birthdays were to happen that same day.
Then he nodded again, yeah, he also understood just how annoying something like that could be, it wasn't after many meetings that he finally decided to ask Louisa what was wrong. Only, he wasn't so straight-forward, but still, it counted as asking.
Since he was looking at the window now, then he failed to notice a bunch of Eve's expressions, but...both her answers were rather similar, and he was actually glad the topic had been suppressed thanks to Scabior, because he certainly didn't feel like sharing any more information about him and Ellie in the presence of said man. Yes, Scabior was pretty much interrupting...

...but Treyen was curious, hence why his eyes were on the man, and then on Eve when she spoke. A task, eh? Just how incredibly awful this task was?
Eve was the smart one with that question, he was just trying to figure out if Scabior's task was meant to be an evil thing, or not. At least he wasn't losing points right now, which was actually a plus.
The Head Boy pretended to ponder over the question, but answered quickly after Eve did, "If you need help..., all I need to know is what the task is about, then I might be able to help," if he knew he could perform said task. Granted, he wanted to ask if there was someone Scabior wanted to get rid of, but refrained on doing so.

The Head Boy might help, and the mute was asking questions. Was there a certain class that told students to be suspicious? Scabior did not need to go around telling children about his plans to have them decide not to participate.
Who would have thought that Hufflepuffs could be as difficult as Gryffindors?
"The task is about retrieving something. Very simple. Very quick. Not dangerous. Really it's either yes you two will do it or no you won't." And if not then he'd be on his way to find willing students. "You'll be rewarded in house points." He added. Both of them would.
