Default The Charms Office

Next to the Charms Classroom you will find Professor Schirmer's Office. The office is cozy and bright with a small private library on a mezzanine floor overlooking the office itself. It is all done in warm wood and the window has a lovely view of the grounds. There are several photographs on her desk and hanging on the walls, including her sister and nephews.

To get up to the mezzanine library, there is a sturdy iron ladder built into the inside balcony. Professor Schirmer can often be found up here with her books, and if you are invited you may take a look at the books up here too.

Professor Schirmer does not encourage social visits. She prefers students to make appointments via her magical mailbox. While you may post knocking on the door if you don't have an appointment please be aware that the professor is usually busy and would prefer you to leave a note for her unless you have been invited or if it is an urgent matter. If you are waiting to see the professor, please do so out in the corridor. She will call you in when she is ready for you, as long as you have an appointment.

Quote:
Please note, I'm still tweaking how I run my office and there's a bit of an amendment to last term! You do not HAVE to make an appointment via the mailbox but please be aware that the professor isn't likely to appreciate someone dropping by without good reason. If your character just wants to say hi or introduce themselves, they should leave a note or say hello to her when she's around and about rather than popping in. It is my intention that Professor Schirmer won't be stuck in her office 24/7. If you have a personal plot which requires your charrie to visit with Professor Schirmer, feel free to PM me about it, or simply drop a note in the mailbox (In character) to make an appointment or have made clear your intention to speak with her.

Althea was all for learning experiences, and after all, charmswork was charmswork.

"When would you like to begin? I suggest perhaps the bathroom on the second floor would be a good place." Mirrors and such.
Sierra's eyes narrowed, though not in anger but out of thought. So she'd accomplish what she wanted, and she'd get credit for it? She could handle that. It was a win-win situation as far as she was concerned. She gave it a little more thought, keeping in mind that she was practically created another homework assignment for herself, and then finally nodded. "Deal. I'll do it," she said.

She shrugged as if to say 'It doesn't really matter'. "I'm not too busy with homework right now, and the Quidditch season hasn't really started, so...now? Soon?" she offered. The bathroom. A mirror, she was suggesting, which was good, except... "Do you think they'll be others there?" she asked. Well, duh. It was a bathroom.

"See you tomorrow." Althea echoed, watching Minerva leave.

"Soon." Althea agreed with a nod, tilting her head slightly at the 'Quidditch season' part. She'd enjoyed Quidditch herself as a student, though only played as a reserve.

"Possibly. I can make them leave if they are troublesome." Althea paused, "And there will not be any boys there." Which would make it a touch easier, no? "Perhaps tomorrow evening? I can free up an hour or two easily, Miss Greingoth."

"Soon," Sierra repeated, nodding her head. Sounded good to her. That'd give her time to back out of this if she decided it was too girly or too weak. She caught that tilt of Schirmer's head, too, but it wasn't really clear what that tilt was for.

"Cool," Sierra said. Er... "I mean, great. That's great." Forcing people to leave was right up Sierra's alley. She almost hoped a Hufflepuff just happened to be around, just so she could watch Schirmer send the girl away. Again, she nodded her head. "Tomorrow evening sounds good. I'll see you then." She then stood, realizing it was likely her time to leave but waiting to be dismissed at the same time.

Minerva walked back to the charms office and knocked. She entered "Hello Professor" and went up the stairs. She took the book Powers You Never Knew You Had and What To Do With Them Now You've Wised Up out of her bag and placed it back on the shelf. It was such an interesting book. Then she moved on to the next section of books that needed cleaned. Pulling out the next dusty book "Mitisaura" the dust loosened and then she pointed "Tergeo" the dust vacuumed away. She placed the book away and took out the next one.

Well, there was the cue Sierra had been waiting for. She allowed the corners of her mouth to edge up into the tiniest of smiles, and she nodded just once. "Thanks, Professor," she simply said. "I'll see you tomorrow evening." She lingered for a split second longer then turned on her heels and headed for the door. "Oh," she said, turning around, "thanks for taking the time to see me today." Yes. Sierra Greingoth could be nice.

After all, she was getting a little bit of something out of all this, as well. She turned around again then headed out the door, closing it behind her.

The next book Minerva took out caught her interest How not to blow off your fingers the first day. That sounded pain full and Minerva caught herself moving all her fingers around with just the thought. She all the sudden got nervous to do the spells, could she blow off her fingers doing these she thought. No she had been doing it for a few days now and nothing happened so she felt safe. Minerva moved her wand "Mitisaura" as the dust loosened she wondered what spells could blow off fingers. "Tergeo" once the dust had left the book she placed it near her feet instead of back on the book shelf. Once she finished the rest of that row she came down the ladder holding the book. "Professor I am going to leave for the day, but I will be back to finish. I'm almost done." she gave a big smile, she couldn't believe how much fun cleaning was. "May I borrow this book to read and bring back with me?" she really wanted to find out how and what could blow off fingers.
