Grab a book and find a seat in the comfortably plush chairs located beneath the lovely windows. This is a nice, quiet spot in the library that is far from the study tables.
With her book firmly in hand, Cass walked into the library and looked around. It wasn't surprising that there weren't a lot of people in in yet since the term just started, maybe a couple of people getting ahead on their studying, or maybe people like her who just wanted a place to quietly read her book. Meh, she felt like a nerd for being here so early into the year. But whatever. She liked books, so who was she to complain if she was surrounded by the, right?
So, she plopped herself down onto one of the comfy arm chairs that was directly under a particularly pretty window, kicked her shoes off - she didn't want to get in trouble of getting the upholstery dirty - and sat crossed-legged on the surprisingly roomy seat, cracked her book open and began to read.

Christopher had been in the library all day and it felt AMAZING. He had been waiting all summer to return to school to see his friends, his house, even his teachers and classes, but there was almost nothing he missed more than the Hogwarts school library. Other than his four poster bed of course, which was heaven in a mattress.
Curled up in a chair, he sat comfortably, books scattered all around him. His usual afternoon activity. Even though his favourite was Shakespeare, he decided to mix it up, as almost a metaphor for mixing things up this year, and picked up some Victor Hugo. It was the perfect start to the year.
Suddenly, he was snapped out of his book when he heard a small thud quite close by to his seat. Who else would be in the library so early in the year? Normally it was just him and a few other older students trying to cram in early studying, but he didn't see a textbook. Just a novel. With golden hair behind it. Wait a minute... Was that who he thought it was?
"Cass?" he asked sounding genuinely suprised. "What are you doing here?"

Did someone just call her?
The blonde peered up from the top of her book and looked over towards the bookshelves, where most of the people seem to be, but none of them looked familiar, and more importantly, none of them looked like they had called her at all. She glanced over at the other side and found a pair of eyes watching her, as if surprised that she would be here, in the library, of all places. Pft.
"I could ask you the same question." The Slytherin shot back cheekily as she smiled at him, how she never noticed him sitting so close by, she would never know, but she certainly noticed him now. "But I guess the answer is quite obvious." She added as she nodded towards the books around him.
Then she held up her thick book, prominently displaying the cover that said 'Grimm Brother's Fairy Tales' and smiled "Just you know, reading." She wasn't usually a fan of fairy tales, especially those written by muggles, but these had a certain...charm to them. "What about you? What are you reading?"

Rubbing the back of his head awkwardly, Christopher shifted in his seat. He probably should've seen that coming. "Right... sorry... that was a stupid question." What else would she be doing with a book in the library? That was pretty embarrassing. He looked up her with a grin and a blush and laughed a bit at himself.
"Fairytales, huh. Good choice," he said with a smile. He'd noticed that Cass was definitely into stories about fairytales from a Muggle's perspective. Back in the summer he remembered she read Sleeping Beauty, and now an entire collection of them from Brothers Grimm. Nodding to her book, he said, "Be careful with Brothers Grimm tales. They're quite dark. Not like the children's stories adapted from them." He'd once attempted to read Sleeping Beauty allowed to his younger sister but had to stop due to some very scary themes not fit for a child or anyone else.
Glancing down now at the own book in his hands, he replied cooly, "Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo. I read The Hunchback of Notre-Dame on the train, so I figured, why not?" It was fairly good so far, even though it was in all French. He'd learned the second language at home, though it wasn't traditionally spoken by anyone in his birth family or the pseudo-family he currently resided with during the holidays. It was just for fun.

Hmm.
Delilah hadn't explored very much of the castle so far. It was really big, and in all honesty: overwhelmingly scary. So, for once, the small brunette had decided to stray away from the Dungeon levels, and made her way up through the school. She'd been exploring for hours, finding herself examining the moving paintings for longer than she cared to admit.
And then she discovered the library.
The girl knew that Hogwarts had one, but she didn't know that it was so big, or so brilliant!
After walking through the book shelves for a while and deciding that she simply couldn't choose what to read, Delilah settled down in what appeared to be a very pretty reading area. She then fished though her bag for a quill and some parchment. She might as well write to her parents and let them know how she was finding Hogwarts so far... They'd be beginning to worry, otherwise...

READING TIME!!!!!
LuLu wandered over to the stain glass windows to find a seat to read atleast one book of hers that she had now borrowed from the Library she sat down and looked out the stain glass windows... Blury! She put her glasses on and opened her book she smiled at the girl beside her ''Haaii,'' she gave her a slight smile and looked down at her book again
The Library was so empty when she came WHY? Did people just have to scurry in after classes.. It was annoying she loved the Liabrary to herself it was the most quiet place in Hogwarts other than the girls dorm when they were ALL sleeping which took a while, apparently first years don't have an off button she had looked for it she had tried but they do not have off buttons there either broken or NEVER worked... Which was easily the explenation
LuLu took out her note book and read quickly through the first page scribbling on her new notebook just for future referance in classes studying always helped right... Although some people didn't seem to like it she always wondered why?

"Hogwarts is really pretty... Though you already know that, mum. You've been here! Gerald doesn't like it much though. I think he thinks there are too many people here..."
'Hai.'
Delilah looked up, to see a girl sat near here. When did she get here? After blinking a couple of times, the Slytherin spoke up. "Hello." She said simply. Now. Back to the letter writing! It wasn't going to write itself. Quill to parchment, Delilah scribbled away for two sides before looking back up to the girl. Having previously given her not even the slightest bit of interest, what she said next was probably rather inappropriate. "Your hair is really long."

"Nah, my mother always said that there are never stupid questions." She said with a smile as she set her book down on her lap, keeping her finger lodged between the pages to mark the page. "Just stupid answers." Although, she wasn't entirely sure how that applied in this situation exactly.
Cass glanced back down onto her book and sort of grimaced as he mentioned the dark themes. Yup, definitely not like the childish fairy tales that she used to hear from her grandmother. "Yup, I definitely didn't see most of the things in here coming..." She trailed off, trying to forget that particularly gross bit in Cinderella. Then she grinned up at him and chuckled "But no worries, I can handle it..I guess. I mean, when you live in a dungeon, things just down look as scary as other people would make them out to be." Although, she still avoids reading it before bed...especially when she's the only one up.
Les Misérables? Wasn't that in French? She peered down to glance at the pages and indeed found the words written in French. "Wow, my book selection looks absolutely ridiculous compared to yours." She joked with a light laugh as she stroked the spine of her book, as if comforting it. "and I didn't know you could read French!" She added with a bright smile. It was pretty awesome actually "Where did you learn?"

"And I didn't know you could read French!" she added with a bright smile. It was pretty awesome actually. "Where did you learn?"
Christopher grinned at her reassurance, setting his book aside. "Your mother is a very wise woman," he remarked, thinking back on his stay at the Prewett Estate during the summer. Ms. Black had been very intelligent, she worked in a very exclusive department of the Ministry. So even though he was pretty sure neither really knew how the remark applied to the situation, it did make him feel less foolish.
With a chuckle, Christopher imagined Cass reading through the book thinking something along the lines of... This is nothing... I live in a dungeon!"Wow, sometimes I think some of you Slytherins might be braver than most Gryffindors." It was true, those Snakes had nerves of steel. He himself was in Gryffindor, known for bravery, and he wasn't even sure that his courage compared to theirs. "Having Lafay as your Head of House must make nothing seem scary anymore."
A slight blush took up on his face as she complimented him, and he couldn't bite back a smile. "Thanks." Nodding towards the book she held, Christopher spoke to the book itself. "Don't you worry, English books are just as impressive as French," he teased, looking up at her with a goofy grin. He loved that he could be a total goofball around Cass without having to worry about how he was thought of. It was nice. "My father taught World History to the local Muggle high school. He was really interested in foreign language, so he brought us up with French, and a little bit of Latin and Greek." He smiled sadly, as a wave of nostalgia swept over him. Suddenly, tons of memories of his dad ran through his head, but it made him happy. His father had taught him bits of many languages, he knew a ton of constellations, and just about every bit of Muggle history ever recorded. He missed his dad a lot.
Trying to clear his head, Christopher turned back to Cass and put on his regular smile. "So... do you know any foreign languages? You'd be surprised how many kids come from places other than Great Britain." He'd always thought that Hogwarts was the school for the British, and there were other schools all across the world. Beaubatons, Durmstrang, etc. A lot of kids just spoke different languages with their parents at home! Heck, there were even Americans here!
"Hogwarts is really pretty... Though you already know that, mum. You've been here! Gerald doesn't like it much though. I think he thinks there are too many people here..."

She looked up
Very welcoming...
She looked down at her book again and started reading... AGAIN! The girl was rather odd she was writing a letter so maybe she wasn't probably.. her imagination since when she was writing a letter herself she wouldn't be very interested in some lunatic that came up to her and said HAII in a girly fashion..
WHAT? O_______o She looked up at the girl and scanned her expression was she ehh... serious ''Emmm errr thanks I think...,'' she looked totally conffused, what the heck was that she barely noticed her she didn't even look at her properly as it was, then she pounced onto her hair and how long it was? Was she trying to wind her up she didn't know if the girl was being nice or not... But telling somone that there hair was really long, after five seconds they met wasn't they proper way to introduce themselves..... She looked down at her book AGAIN!
Ignoring the odd misshap of words she decided to actully introduce herself ''I'm LuLu, and you are,''
Christopher grinned at her reassurance, setting his book aside. "Your mother is a very wise woman," he remarked, thinking back on his stay at the Prewett Estate during the summer. Cass rolled her eyes as he complemented her mother, but she didn't bother denying it as it was true...most of the time. When she wasn't being crazy, she can be pretty wise. "Easy there James." She said as she wagged her finger at him "You sound like you fancy my mother or something!" She joked as she laughed lightly. a part of her mind registering the fact that this was the first time she had ever called him by his last name. Then she sat up straight and grinned wickedly "and now you know where I inherited my wisdom." She said in a airy tone before collapsing into her seat in a wave of quiet giggles.
"We probably are." She said, her tone smug as she smirked up at him before nodding at his words "Yup, most especially with Lafay in our team." She remembered the fire that Lafay started, and all her husbands that mysteriously disappeared, and that fight that she had with the head of house for the puffers last year...yup, she was an incredibly scary woman. "But seriously though, if there's anything that scares me...it's the dark." She said, all hints that she was joking pushed aside "I'm deathly afraid of it...Funny, huh? For a Slytherin...who lived in the dungeons, which was often shrouded in darkness." Then she ran her hands through her curls, a habit that she often found doing whenever she was stressed out or something like that. "Oh and snails. Also deathly afraid of them." She wasn't going to mention that her boggart had been a giant snail though...that would probably too embarrassing for her to bear. "What about you?" Then she grinned and added "Do brave Gryffindors have fears too?"
The blonde held back the grin as he blushed at her compliment. Christopher was just too endearing. It was really hard to remind herself that the guy was supposed to be off limits or something like that since he obviously didn't like her that way...
Oh wait, he was talking to her? Focus, Cassandra!
"Huh?" She began "Oh yeah. Foreign languages." She repeated, shaking herself out of her daze "Well, I can speak a bit of French..." She admitted "but it's not often gramatically correct." She admitted sheepishly "I used to tune mother out whenever she tried to teach me how to speak French...I wish I didn't though. Now I sound stupid every time I speak in it."

"You're welcome," Delilah stated; not looking away from her letter. More scribblings about how Hogwarts was. Talk about the Duck pond. A drawing of her and Gerald at the Pond. There. Her mum would really appreciate that.
When the long haired girl introduced herself, Delilah looked at her oddly. With her head tilted to the side like a confused puppy. People were so formal here. It was... odd. " ... I'm Delilah." Blink. Blink. "Oh, and this is Gerald," she added, pointing to the clearly empty seat next to her.

Although Tiffany has just gone back to school, she could already feel the tight schedule and all those heavy work that was waiting for her to pass through. And here was the place that she could get settled down a bit and relaxed. The library has always been the quiet and silent place which she needed most during her busy school term.
She picked the seat which was the closest to the windows as usual. Why? She didn't actually know. She just felt comfortable as she sat there, watching others playing or passing by as she looked through the windows if she like. She took a book with her to read. She was not those shy girls indeed, she was talkative and cheerful. But now she just want to get some time to dig in those dusty, thick books.
Everything was going smoothly till now. She have met lots of new friends which she was really proud of. However there was one person, whom she would love to bump into again. The boy whom stumbled her on the train. Tiffany could still remember, it was not because of the pain that she endured that reminded her of but it was not the kindness of that boy. But after all everything was good, really.

Delilah frowned at the girl's confusion. She was acting JUST like how her mum does! Pfft. "He's a monkey." She added, as if it were the most logical thing in the world. The brunette still hadn't looked up from her parchment properly, and was apparently treating the conversation with utmost seriousness.
When the long haired girl - the Lulu - asked who she was writing too, Delilah brushed her hair out of her face and looked up to study the girl. She didn't look like someone who'd consistently ask questions. "I'm writing to my mum and dad."

"Do you do much else than ask questions?"
Oh RIGHT a monkey that made lots more sense... NOT she sighed as looked a bit shifty ''Pardon,'' she replied awkwardly...pulling at her cuffs for somthing to do she was pretty much done her book besides this girl was far more interesting in personaliy wise! For example a monkey
Well that was normel she smiled at that it was sweet-ish after all that anyways
''Depends how far the conversation is going, Sorry if you find it rude,'' But you could hardly say asking questions was rude... Especially if theywere ones such as who are you writing to that was a normel question... She liked to believe anyways

"Gerald. He's a monkey." Merlin; it was clear enough the first time she said it! There wasn't much else to add! She quickly reread over her letter. Yup. That was pretty much every thing. Delilah scribbled "Love, Delilah xxx" at the end of the parchment, then looked up at the girl again.
With a small frown, Delilah moved her gaze to the pretty glass window. Lulu had a fair point there. "It's not rude." blink. "It's... repetitive." Yup. Maybe. Delilah wasn't sure. She just knew that questions weren't rude.

So she was back. Sixth Year. The year where she could relax and PARTAAAY. Only not partaay. Because she didn't do partaaying, she'd tried it over the holiday's and she hadn't enjoyed it that much. Especially not the night after a party when you wanted to die. But she was determined to relax that year.
She meandered her way up to the library so she could read a book and all that, and plucked a large, leather tome from the bookshelf and made her way over to the chair and flopped down

Jack tried to reach up to the seventh shelf of the book case, but his could barely touch the sixth. He took out his wand, and gave a gentle swirl, until the book, Hound of Baskervilles, swiftly lifted up and wedged itself between two others in the "Muggle Fiction" section.
He put his hands in his pockets and looked around the massive library. It was a bit quiet today, a lot of people were probably still settling in. The September sun was creeping in through the stained glass windows, his grey-green eyes followed to light to Amy, reading in a squishy chair.
He turned around, and winced. He felt awful. His mother had taken his wand, his owl, his books, every single school supply off him, and locked them under her bed, where he couldn't get them. He probably wouldn't have gotten there at all if it wasn't for his cousin, Teddy O' Donovan, who broke in to his room, and snuck in to his mother's room and took Jack's stuff. So Jack, being seventeen, apparated them both to Diagon Alley. But Teddy was bloody hanging off him to whole time. Teddy would be in Amy's year, sixth, and he couldn't help feeling a little awkward about that, but Jack knew Teddy had been sorted in to Slytherin, and was secretly relieved about that.
He was one of the last on the train, so was stuck with Teddy, a bunch of first years at the very front, beside the trolley lady. He actually skipped the feast and went to bed, so this would be his first time seeing Amy since last term. He walked over and sat down across from her. "Um, hi," He said quietly, giving her a small smile.
Christopher stuck out his tongue and rolled his eyes playfully at her silly suggestion. "Oh, we're going by last names now? Well then, Prewett, I think I'll have to inform you that I don't fancy your mum. She's a bit too old for me, don't you think?" He happened to fancy people his own age. Sure his last girlfriend was a year younger, and he couldn't truthfully deny that he still liked her, but he also noticed strange feelings for another girl. A fifth year. But he couldn't really figure out what they were. Not yet anyway.
"The dark? That's not so uncommon, plenty of people are afraid of the dark. Or at least, what lies in the dark." He wasn't afraid of the dark, sometimes he liked it better at night than in the day. It gave him more time to dream and think to himself for hours to himself without interruption. As she said her next fear, Christopher had to stifle a laugh. "Snails?" Trying to calm his snickers, he smirked at her, trying not to laugh and be mean. "Sorry, sorry.. Not funny. But... Why snails, may I ask?" Snails really weren't the typical fear a fifteen year old girl, as far as he knew. So what made Cass afraid of them? Did she just think they were gross, or was there a more valid, traumatic experience? He thought he'd hear her out before he tried to laugh too much. He didn't want to hurt her feelings.
"Oh, sure. Just because you have fears, it doesn't make you not brave. Bravery is more about facing them, you know? Standing up when others won't. The cheesy stuff you hear about in old movies." He was pretty sure Cass knew what movies were.. right? Some people didn't, but as they were learning about it in Muggle Studies, she probably had a good enough idea even if she wasn't too familiar with them out of school. "My fears are a little different though. They aren't really like yours." He wasn't so sure he wanted to talk about his fears, though Cass basically already knew them. The only thing he was really afraid of was losing anyone else he loved. His parents, his sister, his girlfriend, his only friends in the Muggle world... They were all gone, or at least slipping away. He was afraid of being alone, of loss. And Selina when she was mad at him.
Oh, she knew a bit of French, too, eh? This ought to be interesting. "Oh, so it appears I'm not the only one who speaks it? Give it a go! I'd love to hear," he joked, curious to hear Cass speak in foreign tongues. It would either be impressive or hilarious, so either way, he was sure it couldn't go wrong. For him, anyway.

"I knew that." She insisted with a roll of her eyes as she stuck her tongue out petulantly. For some reason, she felt like the situation was oddly familiar, as if it was some weird case of Déjà vu...except, she realized that it really did happen. Different words, different location, but same outcome. She really had to work on her comebacks better. She couldn't have one liner replies all the time. "You're lucky I can't think straight at the moment." She said with a chuckle as she shook her head, still a bit disappointed at the absence of a witty remark.
The blonde then started fiddling with the hem of her skirt, as if ashamed to meet his eyes at the confession of such a pathetic fear. "I guess so." She murmured as if trying to convince herself. Then she glared at him when he started holding back laughter "There is nothing funny about snails." She said, her face grim. "They are absolutely gross and are...are..terrible!" She cried out, as she shivered, remembering how she woke up covered from chest up with snails when she was 10. Damn Ed and his stupid pranks. "It took hours to get all that snail goo out of my skin, and even longer to wash it out of my pajamas..." She recalled. Then, noticing the look on his face, she decided that he needed some sort of explanation. So, she took a deep breath and began telling her story "When I was kid, I had a friend named Ed Enticiler. Ed and I hated each other's guts and so we would always prank one another. Now one time, he slept over at my house along with another friend of ours, Heather. That night, he placed possibly hundreds of snails on me while I was asleep, and so when I woke up, I was covered with the slimy little creatures...needless to say, I've never liked them since."
"Spoken like a true Gryffindor." She joked as he started talking about facing your fears and all that. Something about the way he said it reminded her of another old movie, one that Lyra was so particularly fond of, Princess whatever it was. Maybe he knew what it was too? Who knows.
Aren't like her's? Oh. Oh yeah. It was pretty stupid of her to start talking about fears..."I know." She said quietly as she bit her lip, obviously troubled. She didn't want Christopher's thought steering towards that again, the guy had enough problems as it is.."Sorry"
When he offered that she try out speaking French, she blushed a deep red and shook her head vigorously and stammered out "M-Me? Speak..French?" She repeated absolutely flabbergasted. "I would look totally silly." She said with a small frown "I don't think I could." She insisted, especially if Christopher was fluent in it. She didn't want to look stupid in front of him. "Make me do anything else, just not that." She offered as she chuckled nervously, hoping that he would take her up on her suggestion.

Christopher playfully shook his head at her. "Tisk, tisk, Cassandra. That's twice you've failed to come up with a witty come back! And I thought you were a Slytherin!" She'd been rather out of it when they where together quite often. He'd be speaking and notice that she was staring at him, as if pretending to listen, but really she seemed lost in her own head. Perhaps that showed how comfortable she was with him? They did have their comfortable silences and were able to think freely around each other. Maybe she just had a lot on her mind with OWLs coming up- Merlin knows he did.
Christopher laughed aloud at her reaction, trying not to be too noisy as they were still in the library. They way she cried out about how gross snails were made him think of a little kid. It was too cute. He continued to smile through her story, not because he was making fun of her, but it simply wouldn't wipe off. He was having to much of a silly time, and couldn't being himself to be too serious. "Friends that hated each other's guts? What an interesting relationship," he mused. Once she finished, he concluded with, "Ah, a backstory. Well I've learned that snails are disgusting, and Ed is a git. And I vow to never tease you about snails as long as we both shall live."
Giving a bow, Christopher said in the most proper accent he could muster, "Why thank you, my dear." He sounded more silly than proper, but it would have to do for now. Perhaps he could work on his fake accents while he studied. Multitasking for the win!
Shaking his head, the lion brushed it off. "No, don't apologize... it's fine, really." He hated that Cass always felt so guilty about bringing things like that up. Yeah, sometimes they were uncomfortable at first, but he felt like he could trust her with anything. Plus it wasn't like any of this was her fault.
"Aw, I was hoping for quite a good show!" he pretended to sound disappointed. Anything, else, huh? A mischievous look flickered across his face, and Christopher smirked. "Anything? Well, if you won't speak French, then..... walk around in a handstand, singing the school song!" Yes, that sounded ridiculous and insane enough for his taste.
