The staff are seated at a long table stretching across a dais at the front of the room. Feel free to come up and greet them after the feast has started.
The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.

A part of her felt at ease with the situation, but the majority of her felt conflicted and tormented. The one thing that kept her sane was the fact that she cared about all the students equally... houses didn't matter.

"Uhm...have a great meal." She said instead and quickly diverted her attention to the Herbology Professor. "Hi Professor Seren!"
Having spotted yet another Ravenclaw, Seren took up her cup and drank deeply. Where they doing this to her on purpose?
She hadn't caught a single word of what was exchanged between Beatrice and Lafay, in fact she was rather relieved at the prospect of not having to be confronted just yet... but that soon changed.
Placing her now empty tea cup back on the table, Seren gave Beatrice a small smile and a nod of the head. "Hello dear, enjoyed your holidays?" she asked.
The staff table welcoming, bubbly and exciting not to forget the huge line of students greeting the new proffesers and welcoming back the old ones

And then there was a man sitting next to him on the opposite side... offering his hand to shake. Really? Could he not see that Willy and the other professor had just been doused with something? Now probably wasn't the best time for introductions.
Observant one he was now wasn't he.

Moving around to her seat, pace slowing considerably, Medea finally looked up to scan the table she was to sit at. Pink bubbles. A ladybug from the looks of it. And oh did it get looks from Medea as she just as slowly sat in her seat next to a blond woman. Perhaps it was best she did come in late.

And even if that was the case, which it wasn't!, he had an excuse all ready to use. Did they actually expect him to arrive on time, or early even? His hut was like..fifty miles away from the castle! And not being one of the quickest walkers, it would take him a good amount of time to get himself there. But luckily, as he FINALLY arrived in the Great Hall, one look around the room and the lack of food on the tables told him that he wasn't even late. So there was no need for his excuse.

He tried his best to ignore the going ons around him, but with the bubbles, and Oliver down at the other end singing his own rendition of the school song, not even using his mouth, he was finding that very difficult to do.
Oh, look. The Headmaster was sitting on a THRONE! That would hold his attention for a little while.

"Hello," he turned toward the woman beside him, who was unfortunately not sitting on his other side. Had she been to his right, she could have functioned as some sort of human shield... but alas.....
WHOA WAIT. Will did a double take. Was that....? No, it couldn't be. "Thea?" he muttered in surprise. "Well I'll be!"

Brushing a strand behind her ear, she gave a smile toward Seren and even Dash - pleased the History professor had decided to return despite his attitude - and finally took her customary seat. Second from the end. Hazel eyes on the guy who may have attempted to poison the new healer, for some unknown reason.
The guy who was sitting next to her. Who seemed to have ... no that wasn't a fart, she was sure of it.
"That's what you get for attempting to poison someone." Fina said nonchalantly, taking a quiet sip from her own goblet and fixing her eyes back on her house table.
''Good day Proffeser,'' she smiled, never had seen her in a while she wasn't on the train nor kings cross... well it was possible she was but she never saw her.. If not how'd she get to Hogwarts??? Why were teachers mysterious so many questions......

She looked at all the students all happy well all the ones that she could see anyway that seemed a great feeling even standing there for a second! To bad she probably was never greeting them ever again she hated the chaos it was just to much for her.... Especially with pushing and stuff it was like the were all superstars and like everyone wanted their autograph! Was this what muggles were like to their teachers? Did they do this aswell? She didn't really want to know she wanted to accept that it was normel even if it wasn't...
Gemma glanced up and down the long staff table...so many new faces...and was it just her or were they all young teachers...and...she felt her cheeks fill with a little shade of pink...what was with all of the new men being so...well handsome...
She shook her head to clear that thought as she watched all of the students coming up to the table with glassed over eyes...obviously many of the students felt the same way about the staff members...this might be trouble this year...
She was proud to see a variety of Ravvie students approaching then table. It made her heart proud to know they were still some of the most friendly students...but then she got distracted again as it hit her that she had attended school with many of the new faces. Yes she was older but she remembered them instantly...o what was Tate thinking...these newbies were going to be onery to say the least...she thought as she took a sip of her drink...
And at that moment she felt something hit her....no more plop on her...what was this nasty stuff...she flicked her right wrist and her wand came shooting out of her wrist sheath...with a flick and a "Tergeo" she began cleaning up the mess as she glanced around with a smile and a giggle...she had to admit that this was a little funny...

Elliot made her way up to the staff table, a bit nervous, but she got over it almosy immediately upon reaching it. She was confident...though, what she had to do was so...NOT Elliot. Sigh.
She looked up at the headmaster and merely managed to smirk up at him.
"Professor Tate, I have been dared to sing you a song. So, lucky you, sir," she told him.She took a step back and deeply sighed before she began.

Took the midnight plane, going ANYWHERE...

And she finished the whole song, she didn't know all of the words,so she made up some. It was a beautiful performance. Or, it would have been if Elliot could sing...
But she couldn't . It was a miracle that the headmaster's ears weren't bleeding.
Elliot bowed to the headmaster politely and said, "Pleasure is all mine, sir," and she strolled back to the ravenclaw table. dare done!

Elise bounced to the staff table, a spring in her step. Or maybe a few springs. She was happy! Professor Bentley was still there! Her favourite, although she wouldn't say it out loud yet.

"Dash..." She said giving him a polite nod of the head. "I hope your summer was pleasant." She said taking a swig of pumpkin juice... It tasted sweet... sweeter than usual.
... She did not like when her pumpkin juice was too sweet.

Oliver gave the back of William's head a flick as he passed by him in way of greeting and finally took his seat at the far end of the table. Did the Headmaster already know what he was like? So he had put him far away from everyone.
He pulled out his chair and sat down. The moment his butt hit the cushion a very loud..."BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT!" could be heard.
His face went a nice shade of red and he gritted his teeth as he turned to look at his SO CALLED FRIEND. "I am going to kill you for that!"

She smiled at the young man and held out her hand as she walked towards him, "I'm Professor Cerulean...." she paused at his question, "O.well a healer is like our school nurse..." o the benefits of knowing the Muggle world... "Lead me in his direction." she said guiding the boy with her usual smile and with her hand on his back slightly.
Isabelle was later than she wanted to be. Everyone else seemed to be already in their seats even, heaven help her, the Headmaster. But as Max wasn't there yet, the speech was unlikely to have been done. Sighing, she adjusted her robes as she walked past the Hufflepuff table - to get a good look at all the new kiddies - and up to the staff table.
As she was seated at the very end, like usual, she didn't have far to go. But her attention was taken by all the new faces she saw sat there. Young new faces at that. Was she getting old, or were teachers just getting younger? Nevermind that though. Fixing a smile on her face, Isabelle nodded a greeting to everyone/whoever was paying attention, and sat down in her seat. "Good evening!"
The burping and farting noises had completely been missed.

Before he could say anything about it Dash let out a loud burp. As the burp escaped out of his mouth came a large pink bubble shaped exactly like a bunny rabbit.
William's gaze just happened to be trailing down the table toward his not-so-friendly good friend Dash Scabior when he heard it... the burp. The first burp o' animal-shaped bubbles.
Eying the pink rabbit, Willy let out a low chuckle and settled back into his seat, smirking quite happily. Prank Count: 2.

...especially after that stunt with the pumpkin juice. Flinching as the cold beverage spilled all over his lap, Will scooted his chair back and shifted awkwardly in his seat, dabbing at the juice with a frown.
"That's just...unfortunate....." he sighed. Merlin, it wasn't even the first day of class and his luck was already failing him! Unless.... surely Oliver hadn't deliberately done that to HIS BEST FRIEND?!
Willy shot his friend a glare, and upon seeing him laughing, realized that he had INDEED been the cause of this mishap!!

Gemma headed back up to the Staff Table after visiting with the 'fainting' boy at the Ravvie Table...what a start to the term. Since she was up anyways, she decided she should introduce herself to the newbies at the table...even if some of them were acting as the children at the class tables...she thought with a little smirk.
She walked up and around the table. And stopped at each of the new staff members. She smiled and extended her hand, "Welcome to Hogwarts! I'm Gemma Cerulean, Muggle Studies..."
Max slipped into his seat and frowned at the sight of students up at the Staff table. Did they not know that it was rude to interrupt their elders at dinner time? Kids these days. They need to learn how to visit our offices and allow us to eat!
Time to ignore the kiddos and their drama.
He leaned on his elbow and turned to Tate. "Enjoyable summer?"

Alyssa decided that she would risk talking to her House Mistress after all. She just had to make sure that she avoided Professor Scabior while she did that.
As she made her way to Professor Hadley, she spotted her Herbology Professor, Professor Bentley. She remembered that she was now the Gryffindor Head of House. Alyssa decided that she would go up to congratulate her on her new position.

"Excuse me, Professor Bentley. I'm sorry to interrupt you but I just wanted to be one of the first to congratulate you on your appointment as the Gryffindor Head of House. The students are lucky to have you."Alyssa offered her congratulations before she moved on down the table. Alyssa wondered whether the Professor would have problems cheering for her current house team or her former house team when they played each other in Quidditch. That would definitely be tough.

That was when she heard it. First there was the farting noises next to her and now a BURP?? But only this one wasn't from new staff person. Dash?
Honestly. Shaking her head at him and his pink bunny rabbit, she sighed. Would these boys ever grow up? She barely knew them, but with their bodily noises, she wished it was even less.
Did he just admit to poisoning the healer? Fina stared back at the fellow for a moment and shook her head, hoping to Merlin he was kidding or just messing with her.
"Good. Because I think it'd be a pity to poison a total stranger's drink." You should at least wait to exchange names and then decide to poison them depending on if you've heard of their name or not. WAIT! What? Spitting her water back into her goblet, she frowned. "Well thanks for that. I'm not thirsty anymore." She wasn't taking chances.
A glance toward the Hufflepuff table and some loud commotions from first years told her she might be needed.
"Josephina Hadley." Wait. Did him sitting there mean that the Runes position had actually been filled? She had actually grown accustomed to the chair on the end being vacant during feasts. Not that she minded the company.
Even if he did have some sort of . . . vendetta with the other guy, as he dumped the guy's juice on his lap. Just in time for Fina to catch the Headmaster take seat from the corner of her eye.

Would you happen to know whether the Kitchen is now open to students? I know that it was closed last year but I was wondering whether that rule has changed now. If we are allowed, I would like to visit the House Elves and see how the baby House Elf is doing." Alyssa asked Professor Hadley. She wanted to make sure that she wasn't breaking any rules.

Minerva went up to the staff table and looked around. She was excited to be back and wanted to speak with all of them if she could, but didn't want to bother them at the beginning of year feast. "I just stopped over to say Hello and I am so happy to be back. If you need any help with anything this term please let me know."
Jezz approached the staff table silently and walked up to the professor that Kurumi said was the Gryffindor Head of House AND the Herbology Professor. She nodded to all the others around her then silently spoke up, "Professor Bentley." Where to go from there. "Hi, I'm Jezzabelle and i'll be in Gryffindor," way to state the obvious. "I'm also a major plant enthusiast and can not wait for class to start." Yeah that should do for a good introduction.

He then nodded at Minerva and his attention was now focused on a Gryffindor. "Perhaps you should return to the Gryffindor Table and you can visit Professor Bentley in her office after the feast is over," he said and his stomach growled.
Will Tate ever stand up and get the speech delivered so that they could eat?

Innocuous on their own, but when you put them in the same cauldron and add heat... the reaction is always unexpected." Elliot bowed to the headmaster politely and said, "Pleasure is all mine, sir," and she strolled back to the ravenclaw table. dare done!
One eyebrow went up, and Tate didn't respond until the song was finished. That was... painful. Worse then the serenading of Borr had ever been back in the day.
"I hate to make light of a dare, but you should watch you make promises to. This is certainly not the time or the place for such things. I suggest you come visit my office once the term begins." And she could convince him why he wasn't going to take house points.

The young professor smiled at the new face...it did look familiar to her...she shook her head up and down slightly as the woman introduced herself, "Great to meet you and its great to have a healer...i hear you already fixed a problem at the Ravvie table." she said glancing over her shoulder towards the sea of blue. She shook her head left and right slightly while glancing at a few of the new male staff members as the Headmaster corrected them and then she focused again and said, "So did you attend Hogwarts?" she asked trying to place the Healer's face.
