Herbology Lesson One

Who: All Hogwarts Students

What: Lesson One

When: Friday 6th January, class will open at approximately 2-3am GMT

Where: The Greenhouses

Items to Bring: Common sense, textbook, dragon hide gloves, comfortable shoes- strictly no high heels, and a smile.

OOC: The lesson won't start for about 12 hours after the time mentioned above, so everyone will have time to RP arriving to class, reacting to their surroundings and meeting Professor Bentley. The class will last up to a week. Please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations prior to attending the lesson- I'll know if you haven't. If you have any questions feel free to PM (personal message) me.

1. Care of Magical Creatures/History of Magic Lesson One will open on Friday, January 6th. Report to the grounds for this lesson! Class will start at approximately 5pm EST and will be open for.... as long as it takes.

Hi everyone! This year I’m going to give you a term-long challenge to complete instead of a final. The challenge will be in two parts; One part will be answering questions and the other is a pure RP challenge. I want to test your astronomy knowledge in what will hopefully be a fun way by posting a new question each RP month which, if you complete along with the RP challenge, can earn you up to 40 house points at the end of the school term along with a mystery prize.

The rules:

New questions will be posted each rp month, a month in the rp is 10 RL days. The questions will test your knowledge in astronomy. They may be about past lessons, former or current professors, or just general astronomy knowledge which shouldn’t be too hard to find.
All answers to questions must be PM'd to Nordic Witch. Do not post them in this thread. Doing so will result in point loss.
The answers are not to be shared.
If you participate in the RP challenge, you will RP your student stargazing from windows in the school, in the observatory, or out on the grounds. The minimum is 10 quality rp posts. The maximum is 15 rp posts.
A quality post consists of detail and should not be a one liner.
You will need to PM Nordic Witch with the links to your stargazing posts by the end of term.
You can do the RP challenge with a a partner or a group but you still need to send me links of at least 10 of your own posts.

Magic Free Fun Zone: Theme 1 (Muggle Matinees)

~*Introducing the Muggle Studies Magic Free Fun Zone!!!*~

Across from the Muggle Studies classroom, an older door hides a new surprise set up by Professor Cerulean to further introduce and immerse students in some more of the fun aspects of Muggle Life.

When the door is open, you will step into a room that has been charmed to match the theme of the room. Inside this room, no student is allowed to use magic. It is a completely Magic Free Fun Zone.

Every few months (few weeks OOC), the theme of the room will change to something else. During this time, you can RP taking part in those activities.

The first theme of the year has just opened up!!!!

Herbology Homework One

Task:

Even though Fire Seed Bushes take an immensely long time to grow, even up to 250 years, they do not take very long to sprout. Just two days after the first Herbology lesson, you will find that your Fire Seed Bush has sprouted and is hopefully rather healthy.

Remembering that they like dark and damp conditions, your task is to go and pay your Fire Seed Bushling a visit. In doing so, you must perform the following tasks:

1. Ensure that it is in a dark enough area of Greenhouse 2. If not, then kindly ask the Ivy to block a bit more of the light out. Don't forget to thank it and give it a pat or a hug.

2. Give your Fire Seed a LIGHT sprinkling of water. Remember it has to be boiling hot water.

3. Sing a song to your Fire Seed and dance in circles around it. All plants need some entertainment for development.

4. In the stored cupboard by the entrance of the greenhouse you will find a small bag of blood and bone mix. Take a pinch of it and sprinkle it around the Bushling's base. Try not to burn yourself.

5. Read the Fire Seed Bushling a bedtime story of your choice and wish it sweet dreams.

Note: You must RP these activities in The Greenhouses. You must do this in 5 posts. Then when you have finished, PM me the links to your posts by clicking on the #number icon in the corner of your posts.
