Sixth Floor
 

Nooks and crannies do abound with smells that would confound a hound.

Looking around the corridor, Jezz sighed in relief as she noticed it was empty. She wanted a moment alone. Just a moment to gather the thoughts that were racing through her mind. She looked out one of the window and stared up into the night sky getting lost in the patterns in the stars. That was the one thing that she was glad about, no matter where she went or how much changed the stars would almost always be the same. Almost. She leaned against the wall and thanked Merlin for the moment of silence.

She needed a break, Eva just began classes and she's stressing out. A walk will help her calm down she thought, so she began strolling down the sixth floor looking for relief. Being alone on this walk seemed key to calming herself and thought she was but Eva heard other wise. A noise sounding of someone walking around in the corridor startled her due to the silent, black stillness of the school at the moment. But who could it be?

Jezz looked up as she heard approaching foot steps and sighed. "Merlin can't I have a moment to myself," she whispered softly. The last thing she wanted was to bothered by the rude girl she had met in Diagon Alley. She turned her back to the corridor and focused on the outside world hoping that nothing bad would happen.

The sight of seeing the first year girl she met the other day in the Alley made Eva's stress level sky rocket. She thought she would never see the "Jezz" girl again but here she is starring at her with a confused yet irritated look. Eva wanted to trot off in a hurry to resume her relaxing walk but she new the girl wouldn't let her. So she remained in her stance waiting for her to say something..but of course her mouth wouldn't let her- " er.. what are you doing here?"

Jezz sighed. She didn't even say a word to the girl. She even turned her back on the girl, not even acknowledged that she was there in the hall. That didn't seem to stop the older girl anyway. She sighed and turned around. "Last time I checked it was a free castle. Also my common room is one floor up where as your is like what four maybe five floors down?" She hadn't bothered to go to the kitchens yet, but is rumored the Hufflepuff house wasn't that far away from them.

She looked back out the window."And if you really must know why I'm here," Jezz said, her temper rising, "I'm stargazing." She had gone out to relax and have a moment to herself but had ended up stargazing, so it wasn't a big lie. "I'd ask you the same question, but it's none of my business as to why you ended up here on the sixth floor." And anyways it was rude to ask such things.

Eva clenched her teeth. How dare this first year talk to her in such a manner. She was just asking a question to maybe start a humble conversation disregarding their past encounter. But oh course this little girl had other plans, be a snobby gryffindor. "Why do you insist on being rude Miss Jezzabelle? I was just wondering what you might be doing here all on your own seeing as you are a first year."

She thought she was keeping her temper down pretty well for how she usually is, but lets see how long it'll last. "And I don't think there's a rule saying I'm not allowed here. If you so desperately must know I'm trying to be that rare Hufflepuff that doesn't waste their selves away in the kitchens. Now then, anymore questions you want to ask me first year? " Eva was pleased with herself believing she stated her point very clearly for the girl.

"Why do you insist on always being rude to me?" Jezz turned on the girl. "Because in all honesty I think I have enough problems on my plate without including a girl who obviously hates me for some reason or another." She didn't need to explain her life story to this girl, but she just might.

"No there is no rule, but who knows maybe Hufflepuff will rub off on you and you'll learn to actually have a heart." Yeah, she just called Eva heartless and she wasn't about to apologize. "And way to try to give yourself a higher standing by throwing my year in my face."

"I don't know maybe because you ran into me that day in Diagon Alley. And I think I'm fine without hearing a whole novel on your life. You may have problems but so does everyone else here, who knows they may have more than you." Eva really didn't want to waste her time with this girl but her personality kept urging her on.

After so much of losing her temper on Jezz, Eva finally calms down and lowers her voice to a gently talk. "Also my heart is as pure and loving as anyone, just not as accepting towards people like you apparently" Eva looked onward like she was getting ready to leave, but gave Jezz one more chance...

"It's not worth it," Jezz said looking back out the window. "How can I expect someone like you to even began to listen to and understand someone like me." She traced another pattern in the stars with her eyes. "You're supposed to be someone I look up to and can turn to for help but instead you insist on acting like a first year yourself."

Jezz snorted, "Yeah okay. People like me. I've never done anything but try and be nice to you and you've never done anything but be...rude." She turned back to face the girl a tear going down her cheek. "And I didn't do anything to deserve that."

Eva took in what Jezz just said..she was considering every point she just made..Jezz was right. How did Eva not see this before, she let all her stress and confusion get the best of her. "Jezz..you're right..and I'm sorry. I know that's probably a shock to you but I mean it."

Even Eva was slightly surprised oh the words coming out of her mouth."I've just been under so much pressure and I've been so busy lately I lost sight of how I was treating others around me." She didn't really know what else she could say. All she could do was lower her head is shame. Eva didn't mean to set such a blaze of conflict.

Jezz looked at the girl and believed it all to be true. She was being sincere and even when she hung her head it was evident that she felt guilty about it. "It's fine. No harm no foul." She was one that always forgave and tended to forget. "Let's just start over. I'm Jezzabelle. First year. Gryffindor." She extended her hand for the girl to shake.

Jezz had no idea how thankful Eva felt that she forgiving her. "Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you're so understanding." Eva hesitantly stretched her arm out and took Jezz's hand. "Eva Scarletta. Third year. Hufflepuff..thanks."

Jezz smiled. "So have you been at Hogwarts all three years or did you transfer?" She had met a couple of kids who had transferred. Plus this was an attempt at some civil conversation.

"Not a transfer, I'm a true Hogwartian of three years now" Eva wasn't much for small chat..this is probably why she hadn't many friends. "Are you a muggle born or all magical?" She awkwardly tried to keep the conversation going, not knowing how exactly though.

"Pureblood," Jezz said proudly." But I have some interest in muggle things." Now where to go from here? They had more to say to each other when they argued and now it was awkward.

"Well if you ever have questions about them, I'm muggle born. I know all about those kind of things. I almost think it's silly how purebloods know nothing about common muggle objects." Eva felt the air around them become slight weirder. She almost wished they were fighting again so it would feel normal. But she was pleased with this.

"Well the same goes to you if you ever need any help when it comes to Herbology," Jezz said smiling. "I'm a major plant nut."

Eva thought about her offer for help.."I think you would actually know a whole lot more about every subject than me. I know I've been here for three years but I feel like I just started and know nothing about magic. Goodness what is magic, ha." She giggled at her own ignorance..Eva actually liked laughing at herself. Makes her feel normal in an odd way.

"I doubt it," Jezz said laughing. "My parents were never around to really help me learn anything. I've been doing it all on my own and it's complicated." She couldn't even answer the joking question Eva had ask because she herself didn't even know what magic was. "Look we'll just help each other the best we can." She looked back out the window and nodded, she was was right she loved the view the towers provided.

"I can work with that" Eva smiled and as well looked through the window. It was such a clear night, beautiful. Suddenly Eva felt exhausted. She didn't want to be rude but knew she really wanted to go to bed. "Well I'm glad we can be friends now. But I can feel my eyelids falling fast. Goodnight Jezz, hope you sleep well." And Eva began to turn to leave, glad she finally has a genuine friend.

"Night," Jezz said turning back to the window as the girl left. She wasn't going to leave without doing just a little more stargazing tonight, and besides she really wasn't that sleepy.

Katie skipped around on the sixth floor.

What she was doing up there no one knows, Katie is odd like that.

She stopped skipping and leaned up against the wall and got out her book and started to read, yes reading, thats what she does, she loves reading so much it isn't funny.

Pam ran up the steps onto the sixth floor, and saw Katie. She had been looking for Katie. "Katie! I'm so glad I found you! I've been looking for you!" She squealed. She then grabbed onto Katie's arms, and jumped up and down. "I have news! Guess what I did!"

WHAT WAS HAPPENING?!?!?

Oh, it was Pam, wait Pam? YAY! Katie smiled as she saw her close friend. Pam had been looking for Katie? She had been looking for Pam too but it seemed that she had something important to say, "Whats up?" Katie said as Pam jumped up and down, what had she done? KATIE WANTED TO KNOW!!
